Chapter 1

It was an early and active morning in the Owl House.

Ever since their trip to Eclipse Lake, Eda, King and Amity, along with some friends, were all trying their hardest to help Luz to build a new portal back to the human realm. So far, thanks to Willow's extensive knowledge on plant life, as well as Eda's potion expertise, they were able to make some duplicate Titan's blood, though very… VERY slowly. Pseudo blood they were calling it.

With that being taken care of, to say that things were going very well for them with making the new portal door would be…

KABOOM

… A terrible lie.

For the third time that week, their experiment with trying to make a new portal door key ended up exploding in the group's faces, covering them with soot.

"Well that didn't work…" Eda said as she shook off the soot. "Maybe there's something with the Pseudo Blood that's causing this…"

"We took a look at it's chemical composition already Eda…" Amity said as she got out from behind Luz, who kept making a habit of shielding her girlfriend from he explosions. "Though I had to trick my Dad into doing it, and he may be… well… you know… but he's still incredibly smart. So if he says that it is exactly the same as Titan's blood, then it's exactly the same."

"Still… there has to be something we're missing…" Luz said, looking down from the repeated failures.

"Hey, look at me." Amity said, putting her hands on her shoulders. "Stop being so down on yourself! We'll find a way to get you home, ok?"

"I know… but…"

"You miss your mom, I know. I promise you that we'll figure this out!" Amity said. "Maybe I should try and get my Dad to help…"

"Amity no! You don't have to do that!" Luz said, suddenly hugging Amity. "I know how much your parents scare you, and how scared you are of them finding out about… well… us… so I won't ever make you do that!"

"Luz… you know I am willing to do anything for you, right?" Amity asked.

"Of course!"

"That includes dealing with my parents!" Amity said proudly.

Though, she was still pretty afraid of them.

"Awwww… thanks Amity!" Luz said before kissing her on the cheek.

"Bleh… ok lovebirds, I think we should call it quits for today… don't want to run out of Pseudo Blood." Eda said. "Come on kid, let's clean up."

Looking over though, Eda saw the two teenagers just staring at each other, red faces, and lost in each others eyes.

"… Seriously?"

No response.

"Wow… how are you two so… bleh, lovey dovey already when you haven't even been on a date yet?" Eda asked the two of them.

That seemed to do the trick as the pair looked over to the witch in surprise.

She was right, between getting notes from Philip's diary, Luz getting sick, Eclipse Lake, and now trying to make the new portal door, they didn't really have a good opportunity to go on a real date yet.

"Oh… uh… she does have a point…" Luz said shyly.

"So uh… want to fix that?" Amity asked.

"Yeah! In an hour? Meet me here?" Luz asked.

"Y-yeah! Sounds great!" Amity said. "I'll take care of the planning, you uh… just get ready!"

"Ok!"

And with that, Amity had left.

"I GOTTA GET READY!" Luz shouted before turning to run into the house.

"Not so fast!" Eda said as she tossed the human a broom. "Cleaning first, date later!"

"Fiiiiiiiiine…" Luz said as she grabbed the broom and began cleaning.

Little did they know, someone was watching their every move.

Amity was walking through her front door with a large smile on her face. After planing out everything on her way home, she was finally ready for her first date!

"This is a day just for us… nothing can possibly…"

"Oh, hello dear…" Said a voice from behind her.

"Oh! Uh… hi… Mom…"

"Still insisting on that new hairstyle I see…" Odalia said in a very disapproving tone.

"Yeah, well… I like it, and my… friends… like it too!" Amity said defensively.

"Oh? Your friends huh?" Her mother asked.

"Yeah… my friends…" Amity said. "Speaking of! We are uh… having a bit of a get together tonight! So I better go get ready and…"

Then, in a cold, sharp voice, her mother said the one thing that she dreaded to hear her say.

"So… tell me about this girlfriend of yours."

And she had never been more afraid in her entire life.

"H-huh?! Wh-what are you talking about? G-girlfriend?" Amity asked, sweat dripping down her face.

"Oh? So that whole scene at that wild witches house earlier was purely platonic huh?" Odalia asked.

"Y-You were spying on us?!"

"At first it was only to see why you wanted your father to analyze that blue… goop that you brought home." Odalia explained. "But then when I saw how… chummy you were with the human… and I knew I had to see for myself what was going on."

Amity was shocked.

Her parents went low before, but she never thought that they would flat out spy on her!

"… What does Dad think about all this?" Amity asked, trying to change the subject.

"Ugh, as soon as I told him that it was Titan's blood that he analyzed, he's been so absorbed into his research and notes that he hasn't even said a word to me!" Odalia said. "You know how he gets…"

"Yeah… I do…"

"Now, onto the more important topic." Odalia said sternly. "You know that I cannot allow this to stand!"

"And why not?! In case you haven't noticed, I lo-"

Odalia's pointed look was enough to shut her up.

"I don't care how much you, ugh, 'love', this human. Your image is much more important!" Odalia said sternly. "Not only is she a human, but she also staged a rebellion against the emperor a while back in case you forgot!"

"She was publicly pardoned for that!"

"That does not take away the fact that she still did it!" Odalia shouted.

"Pretty sure it does! And that doesn't even matter to me!"

"Don't talk back to me young lady!" Odalia shouted. "You're image takes priority over everything! Even love!"

"But…"

"No buts! Now, you are to break things off with this human, or else!" Odalia commanded.

"Or else what?!" Amity asked. "We made a deal! You promised that you would never try to get her expelled again!"

Odalia simply laughed at this.

"You forget Amity… there's more than one way to deal with a pest…"

Once again, Amity felt fear like never before.

"So… how do I look?" Luz asked.

Eda turned around and got a good look at the human.

"Like you normally do…"

"Great!" Luz said as she sat down on the couch. "Don't want to stick out at all, right?"

"Uh… why don't you want to do that?" King asked.

"Because we don't want to draw attention to ourselves!" Luz explained. "If Amity's parents find out that we're dating, who knows what they'll try to do!"

"Oh please, it can't be that bad, can it?" King asked.

"She threatened to keep Willow out of Hexside, and got me, Willow and Gus all expelled… remember?" Luz asked.

"Oh… right…" King said.

"Relax! They aren't going to find out!" Eda said. "Just have fun tonight! You deserve a little bit of relaxation with everything that's been going on."

"Right… thanks Eda."

"Oh Luuuuuuuuuz!" Hooty's voice called out. "Your GF is heeeere!"

"Thanks Hooty! Well, wish me luck!" Luz said as she began walking towards the door.

"Knock 'em dead kiddo!"

"You kill people during dates?! HECK YEAH! I NEED A GF OF MY OWN!" King said with an excited tone of voice.

Luz just laughed at this as she answered the door.

Amity's tear stained face though, that got rid of any joy Luz had at the moment.

"Oh my gosh! Amity!" Luz said as she put her hands on Amity's shoulders. "What happened?! Are you ok?!"

"Luz… I… I'm sorry…" Amity said. "But, we can't have a date…"

"Hey that's fine! Just come inside and tell me what's…"

"I can't… I have to make this quick and get home…" Amity said.

"… Amity?"

"… My mom found out about us."

Luz practically felt her heart stop.

"Ah dang it, I jinxed it didn't I?" Eda said from inside.

"So… what happened…?" Luz asked. "What does this mean about us?"

"… She told me to break things off with you… or else…" Amity said.

"Or else what?!" Luz asked.

"… I… I don't even want to know…" Amity said. "She… she sounded so cold… like she was ready to… to kill…"

"Geez, kinda harsh, don't ya think?" Eda asked. "Then again, gotta respect a girl with that kinda conviction."

"Not a good time Eda!" Luz shouted.

"Still… I can't risk anything happening to you Luz… you're too important to me and I…"

"I don't care." Luz said pointedly. "She can say and do whatever she wants to me, but I don't care! I am not letting this end like this!"

She then ran inside and grabbed a soapbox, before running back outside and standing on it.

'She's such a lovable dork…'

"She can send ninjas, assassins, even armies and I would still fight to stay by your side!" Luz said rather dramatically.

"Luz…"

"So, let's figure out what we are going to do about this!" Luz said as she got down off the box.

Amity stayed silent, and simply pulled her girlfriend in for a hug.

"Thank you…"

"Anything for my awesome girlfriend." Luz said as she hugged back.

The two stood there for a bit before separating.

"So, let's start thinking!"

"Actually… I already had a plan…" Amity said.

"You did?! Then what was the point of all that?!" Luz asked, waving her arms in the air. "I gave a perfectly good dramatic speech, and you already had a plan?!"

"I just wanted to know if you were going to stand by me no matter what…" Amity said with a laugh. "But now that I do… I feel confident enough to do this!"

"Ok… do what?" Eda asked.

"Everyone! Follow me!" Amity said as she hopped on Ghost.

Eda came outside with King, the smaller of the two riding with Eda, while Luz rode with Amity.

And they were off into the night sky.

When Odalia answered the door, she was surprised to see the crowd in front of her.

"Amity Blight, what is the meaning of this?!"

"Mother…

I challenge you to a witches duel!"

End of Chapter 1

Time for a new series to enter the fray! I got into The Owl House at the end of Season 1, but never really thought to write anything for it. Then they introduced Hunter… and then they made Lumity canon, and I figured "Why not?" So, here we are!

For those of you that are new, hi, I'm Xfire, I like to write stories about Anime, Video Games, and now I guess a cartoon. I try to keep things fairly simple, yet give a good enough description to allow someone to picture what is going on in their heads! I hope you enjoy, and if you do, consider reading my other stuff! I am currently releasing a rewrite of Sonic X to feature IDW Sonic characters every Saturday!
