Well damn! Been exactly 2 months since this was updated, sorry about that, put this on the backburner due to various reasons.

Anyway, here's one more.

Chapter 9- Magic between us

Earth-199999

Merlin, now known known as Colin Emrys, stood in the corner of the room, and Lena Luthor, formerly Morgan Le Fay, his greatest nemesis, stood in the other corner of it, both of them unarmed, but a little tense, looking like they were about to do something very soon.

And then Lena's eyes glowed as she fired a blast of magic but Merlin deflected it with his hand in time.

"Saw it coming?" Lena asked him.

"Yeah, you need to be quick with it, and unseen too", Merlin pointed out as well as explained simultaneously as his eyes glowed and he did a gesture with his face, pushing Lena back by a little bit, though not by much.

"See? What I used here on you, it was a telekinetic spell, this was a weak one since I didn't want to throw you, but you get what I mean, right?" Merlin asked her.

"I do", Lena nodded. "Basically, start with something fast but unseen, so your opponent is at your mercy early, and then do something else to take them out."

"Just like that", Merlin nodded as he then took out a little ball. "I'm gonna do a little test with this one, let's see how it goes."

"Come on", Lena held out her hands as Merlin juggled the ball in one hand before throwing it at Lena at full force, and she managed to stop it in front of her at the last second, frozen in mid-air as Lena then held out her hand and grasped the ball.

"Well done", Merlin smiled. "You know how to use her powers quite well now."

"Still not on your level", Lena said with a shrug as she put the ball away.

"Yeah, not yet, but you will be pretty soon I imagine", Merlin told her as he walked to the couch, picking up his staff, and twirled it a little.

"I bet I used to be on your level back then though", Lena said and Merlin winced a little as she realized she'd opened a wound without having intention to. "Oh, I'm sorry." She moved to him and stroked his shoulder. "I didn't mean to-"

"No, its okay, you didn't know", Merlin assured her as he sat down, and Lena sat down next to him.

"Yeah, that's the part about this that sucks", Lena sighed sadly. "I mean, I know I used to be Morgan Le Fay, evil powerful sorceress, that I had a whole life before, but I can't remember it. She made me as a fake identity, and just forgot about herself during the spell, which let me take over the whole thing completely, until she came back, and then we split and now-"

"Well, it's not really you", Merlin told her. "I mean, even Morgana, she was a good and kind person before some of her decisions, and a good number of my mistakes, let her down the wrong path, and frankly, I wonder-"

"What?"

"I wonder if she ever was truly evil, she turned against us too fast, it didn't make sense", Merlin said, his eyes narrowed. "She hated Uther, but she cared about the rest of us. I think Morgause might have cast a spell on her to bring her to the side of evil that quick."

"You think so?" Lena asked and he nodded. "But now she is trapped in the Dark Di-"

"I know", Merlin sighed. "If this did happen, its too late by now anyway, she is corrupted by the dark magic, not much I can do about it." He turned to Lena. "But you, well, you are the best of her, you know? She was a lot like you before we lost her. She was a good person. So are you."

"Thank you", Lena said with a smile as Merlin nodded again.

He had loved Morgana back then, so his failures with her were always going to haunt him, but Lena, she was so much like her before she had turned, she was kind, caring and empathetic.

And helping Lena with her new powers, both magical as well as Slayer, Merlin felt he was redeeming himself for his failure with Morgana here, by being there for Lena when she needed him.

Plus, seeing how she was, it had made old feelings reignite, only, instead of Morgana, they were now towards Lena.

It was not because she was like Morgana in appearance or personality, it was because of her, though her looking and being like Morgana before she was evil did play a part, but it was not the primary cause.

Merlin wondered if he should ask her, or just let it be, they were good like this, and besides, something like that might put a strain in their friendship.

But then again, keeping a secret from Morgana was one reason he had turned her away from him. Now sure, keeping feelings secret was nothing like keeping the magic secret, but well, if he kept a secret, it would still be like repeating past mistakes, he was better than that, and she too deserved a lot better than that.

Oh he was so going to embarrass himself but here goes.

"So, uhh, Lena."

"Yeah?" Lena turned to look at him, thinking about what he was going to say.

"So, we have known each other for a few months now, our first meeting wasn't the most ideal one, but I think we have grown from then", Merlin continued.

"Yes, we have, we are good friends now", Lena smiled.

"I know", Merlin said, blushing red like a tomato as Lena's eyes narrowed. "And well, uhhh, I think there is magic-"

"In us-"

"No, magic between us", Merlin corrected, and now his face was redder than before. "I think I…we should really, you know…."

"Will you go out with me?" Lena finally asked and Merlin stopped talking, looking at her with wide eyes and a dropped jaw.

"What?"

"You were obviously going to ask that but weren't able to, so I asked you instead, and I wanted to ask you too", Lena revealed with a smile.

"Really?"

"Yeah, really", Lena nodded. "You are a good man, and you've been there for me ever since the Morgana stuff, I like you, I wanna see if we can be something more."

"I want to do the same", Merlin told her and took a deep breath. "Well then, so when and where-"

Arthur and Gwen then arrived, and Merlin stopped, before they looked at the two.

"What? Carry on. I was waiting for you two children to get together anyway", Arthur said with a snicker as the two were embarrassed now.

"You knew?" Lena asked the two of them.

"Long before you two did", Gwen added with a chuckle. "I think you two should try it out, you deserve it."

"But if you hurt her in any small way, Merlin, you're going to pay", Arthur told him with a mock glare.

"You do realize she is not actually your sister, dollophead?" Merlin asked as Arthur's glare got harsher.

"You bloody little idiot!" Arthur snapped.

"Arthur."

"What?"

"I just used your name as an insult."

"MERLIN!"

Merlin ran off as Arthur chased after him and both Gwen and Lena laughed.

"Boys", Lena muttered.

"They never change", Gwen sighed with a smile.

But at least one thing had changed. Merlin had not kept a secret this time, and so he and Lena were going to move forwards and start a relationship.

And there we go, finally done with this one too.

There will be more of Merlin soon enough.

Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
