Thank you to everyone who has favorited, followed or reviewed this fic so far.
Had some help from Brainstorm Sorcerer on this one so thank you to him. Have fun.
This one takes place after 'Heroes, Vampires and Slayers' too.
guest 1: Thanks for the review. He will get his sometime, though I think you should tone it down a bit, its gotten overboard, and you do it a lot.
guest 2: Thanks for the review. Andrew can be a bit of a threat if let go, and an unchecked variable which the Scoobies don't want, which is why they keep him amongst themselves to keep an eye on him. But he'll get his later.
Chapter 13- Its all too slow
Earth-167, Metropolis
Peter Maximoff and Bart Allen were together in a little safehouse for the Justice League, hanging out together, and enjoying each other's company since they were the fastest speedsters in the Multiverse and also quite fun loving.
They played 'Mortal Kombat 11' together, with Maximoff using John Rambo and Bart using the Terminator, which was funny considering they knew a real version of that one.
Plus the gameplay was inhumanly fast considering the speed of the two players, and by the end of it, Maximoff won, due to having won two rounds, and Bart had won only one.
"Well damn!" Bart groaned.
"I win", Maximoff smirked.
"Yeah I know, I know", Bart agreed. "This one, I have won some of the previous ones."
"Yes you have, but I have a little bit more, plus I beat Arnold Schwarzenegger using Sylvester Stallone, now that's symbolic right there", Maximoff quipped.
"Don't think the real Terminator would appreciate it", Bart pointed out.
"Which is why we don't tell him", Maximoff added hastily.
"I know", Bart snickered. "So, what now?"
"Let's race from here to Gotham, what do ya say?" Maximoff inquired.
"Love the idea", Bart shrugged as they got up and ran off as fast as they could, running out of Metropolis, passing all the buildings, people and news stands, but not letting any damage happen on account of their ridiculous speed.
Then they ran through some open fields and all that before reaching Gotham City, and ran in there, speeding around the whole city before running back outside, then ran through the open fields once more before reaching Metropolis again, and ran back to the safehouse.
"So, what happened?" Maximoff wondered.
"I think we ran equally fast", Bart said.
"I think I was one step ahead", Maximoff said with a smirk.
"No you were not, we were neck to neck in the whole thing", Bart argued, and it looked like neither of them was really going to back down on this one.
"I think I was just one step ahead, I'm pretty sure of it", Maximoff argued back to him.
"Nah dude, if anything I was one step ahead", Bart told him.
"You know what? Its obvious its not gonna work out, let it be, neck to neck dude", Maximoff finally decided to agree upon that little compromise as it made the most sense really.
"Yeah, I think I'm gonna agree to that bit myself, bruh", Bart said with a shrug as the two of them sat down for a bit, tapping their feet really fast which made the whole place vibrate so they snickered and stopped, wondering how much farther it could have gone had they carried on with it all.
"That was fun", Maximoff shrugged as both of them snickered.
"If we carried it on we would have freaked out everyone here dude", Bart said as the two of them shared a little high-five.
"Its fun to be the fastest speedsters with really fun personalities to match up with those", Maximoff then commented as both of them shared a laugh at that, as it was true.
"Oh yes, the two of us are fun people, look at the other speedsters, they are fine people, but they don't have our kind of personalities", Bart agreed once more. "Let's see- Barry-Red, he's fine but he gets too broody sometimes, then Wally just doesn't do much, Jesse is a, no offense to her, whiner. Jay is just too aged now."
"And Hunter is too serious due to his job and all that jazz", Maximoff added with a smirk and shrug. "Pietro is fine but he is too slow compared to us, and he repeats 'You didn't see that coming' too much. And finally Barry-Blue, dude is improving but he needs to really stop with all that millennial humor stuff, if you know what I mean."
"Not wrong there", Bart nodded. "Still, at least they have personalities, even if they are not the fun kind, but they have those."
"Yup, I hope we never meet a speedster who lacks in personality", Maximoff hoped, as that would suck. "Hey, you ever wonder if there's a speedster who lost their hearing due to the sonic boom that running so fast produces?"
"There might be, the Multiverse is a huge place, someone out there may not have the protection that we do and can probably blow up their eardrums by running at this pace", Bart nodded. "And it would really suck for that person."
"Tell me about it, would suck more than us, as it all goes in slow motion for us a lot of the time", Maximoff said with a frustrated sigh. As much as he enjoyed this speed and all that, everything else in slow motion made him feel a bit lonely at times, and only with other speedster was that loneliness really alleviated, and that speedster was Bart who was almost as fast as him, just very slightly slower than he was at best.
"No kidding, really sucks when it takes forever for the other person to finish a word of a sentence, and we have to keep hearing all of it", Bart sighed, sounding a bit frustrated himself. "The other slowpokes don't help matters."
"Oh no they really don't, even if they're fun people", Maximoff said with a little shrug. "Have you ever had a day where you are at the ATM and you are in a hurry because you're running late but the person in front of you doesn't know how to use the ATM and they're taking forever? Now imagine what it must be like to-"
Bart caught on that part and both of them finished the sentence together- "spend every day surrounded by people who don't know how to use the ATM."
They realized they had said the same thing and did a high-five, only to produce a sonic boom from it that sent all the stuff around flying off and scattering here and there.
Then they looked at each other and snickered as Maximoff said. "Well that sucked."
"Don't think it'd take too long to fix it though", Bart shrugged, and they fixed it in a second.
Even if others were slow, they were the fastest men in the Multiverse, and they always had each other's backs, because they were best friends.
And its done. I think Maximoff is slightly faster than Bart but its still really close.
For others like Arrowverse or DCEU Barry I think they have moderate speed but they can go faster under certain circumstances but that's it.
The 'speedster with no personality' was my dig at Makkari from 'Eternals' who was fast but had no personality outside of being deaf. Only thing I liked about her was that they didn't use the cliché slow-motion thing with her, and showed her speed in real time, but that's it.
Though the actress is stupid if she thinks Makkari is faster than Flash, as she said that earlier in this week, because Makkari runs at the speed of sound.
She does realize comics Flash runs at light speed, right?
And in live-action I think its obvious that Peter Maximoff, Bart Allen, Arrowverse Barry Allen, DCEU Barry Allen, Smallville Clark Kent, Reeve/Routh Superman and Dean Cain's Superman are all faster than her, and unlike her, they all have personalities too.
Anyway, thanks to Brainstorm Sorcerer for the help again, and see you all next time with another chapter.
