Epilogue

Blight Manor, the day after the duel

"Mom! I'm going to go see Luz!" Amity called out.

"Hold on just a second Mittens." Odalia said, standing in front of her with her arms crossed.

"Hey, we had an agreement." Amity said sternly.

"Don't worry, I'm not trying anything funny." Odalia said. "I just want to know why."

"Why?"

"Yes, why do you love that human so much?" Odalia asked.

"You got like, an hour?" Amity asked.

"Oh brother…"

"Ok, I'll give you the short version." Amity said with a laugh. "Luz is… well, weird. But in a good way. She never fails to get me to laugh, to get me to smile. She always means well, even if it doesn't seem like it. At first, I tried pushing her away, but she just… kept coming back and tried to be my friend. I guess it started with me just accepting her friendship and appreciating what she was… and it just kinda built over time."

"I see… anything else?" Odalia asked.

"Well, I feel like she really… gets me, and knows just what I was going through with you." Amity explained. "Her worst fear at Grom… was her own mother…"

Odalia just stayed silent at this.

"Speaking of Grom, she took my place as queen… and did everything she could so I wouldn't have to expose my biggest fear to the whole school… heh, if only she knew that my biggest fear was her rejecting me…"

"Well… that's nice…"

"She's not the smartest person… but she has her moments." Amity said. "And I know that given time, she'll achieve any goal she sets her mind to… cause that's just who she is!"

Odalia then did something surprising.

She smiled.

"Well, that brings me back."

"Huh?"

"It reminds me of how I fell in love with your father…" Odalia said.

"Really?" Amity asked.

"Yes… Listen, I still am not the biggest fan of this human… actually I still hate her immensely, but human or not, her willing to jump in and save you yesterday… I guess I can see why you'd think she was special." Odalia said.

"… Thanks… I guess…" Amity said. "You still have a lot of work to do if you want to make things up with me though."

"And that's fine… but that being said…" Odalia said as she waved over to someone.

The Owl House

"Ok! Time for another experiment!" Eda said as she pulled out another vial of Pseudo Blood.

"All this work just to make the key… I really hope the door itself is easier!" King groaned out.

"Me too! I keep getting soot in my eyes every time something blows up!" Hooty said. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to wipe that stuff out of your eyes when you don't have hands?"

"We get it Hooty! You said that the last three times something blew up!" Eda groaned out.

"Ugh…" Luz groaned.

"Hey, what's the matter? I thought you'd be in a great mood after your date last night!" Eda asked.

"I am! Just a bit frustrated that we still haven't made any progress on this!" Luz explained. "I just don't get it! We've followed Philip's formula exactly, but it still blows up every time!"

"Well, maybe I could be of assistance."

The group looked over to see Amity walking over with…

"Alador?" Eda asked.

"Hello Edalyn, I trust you've been well?" Alador asked.

"Wait, you two know each other?" Amity asked.

"Oh yeah, we went to Hexside together." Eda asked. "This guy was REALLY into the abomination track. Oh man, we had some good times back in the day."

"And by good times, she means all the pranks she played on me…" Alador explained.

"Hey, you thought some of them were funny, like that song I wrote for you!" Eda said with a grin. "How did it go again?… Oh yeah!"

She then cleared her throat.

"Please don't…"

"It's Aliiiiii, magic is heeeee, Alador BLIIIIIiiiiight!" Eda began singing.

"Please stop…"

"Come on, you know you love it!" Eda said.

"At first, then you began singing it every time you saw me…" Alador said. "That included my first date with Odalia."

"Oh boy, now THAT'S a story…" Eda laughed out.

"Anyways, before we get any more singing…" Amity interrupted. "My Dad is here to help us."

"Help?"

"Part of the agreement for the duel was that we would lend you two our full support. Odalia and I decided that would include helping you make this portal to the human realm." Alador explained.

"Wait, but aren't abominations your specialty? How…?" Eda asked.

"I may specialize in abominations, but I am still an inventor." Alador explained. "My knowledge should still be helpful."

"Well then, come on and help us figure out what we're doing wrong here!" Eda said as she pulled him over to their work station.

After looking over the notes, Alador had an idea.

"Hmm… so you are putting in straight Titan's Blood, correct?" Alador asked.

"Well, it's a duplicate that we made, and we call it Pseudo Blood, but yeah." Eda said. "Why?"

"Well that's your problem." Alador said. "Titan's blood is too powerful to put in such a small object. You need to dilute it's magical energy for this to work."

"Ok, and how do we do that?" Luz asked.

"Simple, just mix it with water." Alador said.

"Oh! Of course!" Amity said suddenly. "Philip wouldn't include something like that in his notes cause it was already done!"

Luz and Eda just looked at each other in confusion. "Come again?"

"Remember what his diary entry about Eclipse Lake said? The blood mixed with water from the lake and created the portal that brought him here!" Amity explained.

"Oh! And since he got his blood from the lake…" Luz added

"It was already done for him!" They finished together.

"That is a likely scenario, yes." Alador said.

"But that doesn't explain why we are having trouble." Eda said. "We got the blood from the key after all…"

"Well, let me take another look at it." Alador said, pulling out a microscope.

After taking another look at the two bloods, Alador noticed something.

"Yes, I see…"

"See anything?" Amity asked.

"Yes, but I only noticed because I knew what I was looking for." Alador explained. "It seems that in the process of creating this Pseudo Blood, you evaporated all of the water that was originally in the Titan's Blood."

"So the Pseudo Blood doesn't have any water in it, but the original Titan's Blood does?" Luz asked.

"Precisely."

"So if we used the Titan's Blood, then we would of had no issues!" Eda said excitingly. "SO I WAS RIGHT!"

Everyone just gave Eda a deadpanned look.

"Great, as if she needed a bigger ego…" Alador groaned out.

"Thanks a lot Mr. Blight!" Luz said, hugging the man.

"Ahem… anyways, we should get to work." Alador said.

"You got it Mr. B!" Luz said.

"Hold on! Aren't you forgetting something?" Amity asked.

"Uh… maybe? What?"

Amity just stared at Luz, before gesturing towards her outfit.

"Oh… It's Monday…" Luz said, realizing that they had to go to Hexside today.

"Yeah, I was just coming over to pick you up like we agreed on last night, remember?" Amity asked.

"Sorry! I'll go and get changed and we can get going!" Luz said before going inside.

"Geez, that girl really is a piece of work." Eda said.

"Seems so." Alador said. "Someone like that needs someone like Amity in their life to keep them grounded, don't you think?"

Eda then began thinking about Raine. "Yeah… I agree."

"You know, I actually didn't agree with Odalia on that whole situation." Alador admitted.

This earned a surprised look from both Eda and Amity.

"Really?"

"What I care about the most is your growth Amity, not your image." Alador explained. "So to me, it doesn't matter who you love."

Amity smiled at this. "Thanks Dad."

"Anyways, we should get to work so we have some good news when they get back from school." Eda suddenly said.

"Of course."

And with that, they got back to work on the portal key.

The Emperor's Palace

"Well well! You look like you had a good time yesterday." Belos said.

"Eh, the duel was an interesting one, that's for sure." Hunter said as he put his cloak on.

"If you don't mind me asking, what was it about?" Belos asked.

"The youngest Blight fell in love, her parents disapproved, and they had a fight over it." Hunter explained.

"Ah, interesting indeed." Belos said.

"So, how are preparations going?"

"Proceeding without a hitch, we should be ready soon." Belos said.

"I'm looking forward to it, Uncle." Hunter said as he began walking away.

"I'm sure you are… the Titan has big plans for you after all." Belos said as he walked in the other direction.

The End

I thought about it for a bit, and decided that since this epilogue is a good bit shorter than the other chapters, I thought I would post it tonight!

I hope you enjoyed Hunter, cause we aren't ever going to see him again in this timeline… Thing is, his future in the show is uncertain, more-so than any other character in the show. Because of this, I really would not like to write another story that takes place in the future, have him be featured prominently, only for it to turn out that he dies or something.

Anyways, in case I didn't just make it obvious, yes, there will be more stories set in this timeline. The next one taking place right after Yesterday's Lie! It is not quite done yet, so it may be a bit before we start it, but it is coming!

I hope you all enjoyed, and I'll see you hopefully soon for "Tomorrow's Truth."
