Green Hal37: Yeah, it is fitting, especially since Devoe was Barry's most technologically advance villain. No, it's not. In the flashbacks in 1x20, which seem to take place around the same time as Arrow season two was wrapping up, Iris touches Barry's hand and gets shocked. You'll see.

Guest 1: Until T-800 reaches the point he did at the end of Judgement Day, it's pretty important for him to follow Catlin's orders, or else he might kill someone.

Guest 2: Until he grows more morally conscious, it's pretty important for Caitlin to be able to rein in T-800.

Eastern Central City

Mid afternoon

"We have cops searching the area, all possible routes the car could have gone after leaving the gas station," Singh explained as he, Joe and Eddie stood on the street. "We searched Harrison Wells' house. There was a banged up Star Labs van in the garage and it looks like a car peeled out of the driveway. There was also evidence that Wells had guests over, guest rooms with beds that have been slept in, unwashed plates from the night before."

"So it's not just a coincidence that the gas station is near Wells' house," Eddie noted.

"Seems that way. Although why they would come here is still a mystery," Singh said bewildered.

"The man who attacked them was dressed like a police officer. They might have thought the department was compromised and that they had to run," Joe noted, although he still wondered why they were traveling with the man who robbed the dive bar.

Joe's thoughts were interrupted by his cell phone. Digging it out, he saw it was his house, leaving no doubt who was calling.

"Sorry, I have to take this," Joe apologized before stepping away and answering. "Iris, now is not a good time."

"I saw on the news that police are swarming east Central City. Did you find Barry?" Iris asked worriedly.

"There was a sighting of Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow at a gas station. That's all we know right now. Listen, if we find anything else, I'll call you," Joe promised her.

"Okay. I just hope he's all right," Iris said sounding distressed.

"Me to. Listen, I gotta go, I'll let you know if we find anything," Joe promised before hanging up and rejoining Singh and Eddie.

West Hose

Moments later

The T-1000 ended the call and dropped the phone. He made his way towards the front door, passing Iris. She laid on the floor, a gaping wound in her chest from where the T-1000 had stabbed her when he had first entered, her eyes staring without seeing.

Central City

Same time

"This is tactically dangerous," T-800 warned as he sat in the driver's seat, the others still in the back as the stood parked down the road from the Devoe house. "The T-1000 has access to the same files that I do. He may anticipate that we may target Devoe and move to intercept us."

"Which is why the safer option is to kill them both before it has a chance to come after us again," Thawne added.

"We are not killing anyone," Caitlin said firmly.

"What is with you? We can't kill them! We can't go around killing people because of something they might do! We signed on with you because we wanted to make the world a better place! That didn't include killing people because of something they haven't done yet! There will be no more talk of killing!" Cisco said passionately.

The car was silent as Thawne mused on Cisco's words. Clearly, he would have to be a bit more careful to maintain his 'Harrison Wells' persona around Cisco and Caitlin from now on. He couldn't afford to lose their trust now.

"You're right," Thawne said. "I suppose I just don't want another incident like the Accelerator on my conscience. But you're right; we can't help people by punishing someone for something they haven't done."

Cisco nodded, seemingly satisfied. Caitlin side eyed him for a moment before turning her attention back to the front. At that moment, the saw Devoe walk out of his house. He got into a car and left, driving away. They waited until his car had vanished from sight before they sprang into action. T-800 got out of the driver's seat as Cisco and Caitlin unbuckled.

"Dr. Wells, stay here with Barry," Caitlin told him as they got out.

"Of course," Thawne said easily, knowing he would have to play this very carefully.

Closing the car door, Cisco and Caitlin caught up to T-800 as he walked up to the front door. Paying no mind to the scene he might cause, he broke open the locked door with a bit of his strength.

"We didn't say anything about breaking and entering?!" Cisco wailed as the trio entered.

T-800 did not respond, looking around. There was no sign of Marlize Devoe. As he walked further into the house, his sensors picked up noise. He turned his head to the side as Marlize Devoe suddenly rushed him. She delivered a blow to his chest that would have sent a normal man stumbling back. He didn't even blink. Pausing momentarily in surprise, Marlize put it aside and attempted to strike him once more. Easily catching her arm in his vice like grip, T-800 gently (for a Terminator) tossed her to the floor. Rolling onto the ground, Marlize jumped to her feet. Before the fight could continue, Cisco suddenly rushed into the room, getting between the two.

"Whoa whoa whoa! We're not here to fight okay? We're here to talk," Cisco said, holding his hands out in an 'enough' gesture.

"Talk?" Marlize repeated wearily, eying T-800 skeptically. "You broke into my home to talk?"

"It's…complicated," Cisco said lamely as Caitlin walked into the room.

"Show her," Caitlin said simply, glancing over at T-800.

He nodded, taking off his jacket to reveal his bare arms. T-800 then took out a small knife. Marlize eyed him wearily, anticipating an attack. Instead, to her surprise, T-800 used the knife to cut around his arm before making a second cut. He then removed the skin, revealing the metal underneath. Marlize simply stared at the metal arm, completely shocked.

Later, Marlize, Cisco, Caitlin, and Thawne all sat around the kitchen table, listening as was T-800 explained everything to Marlize. She took it pretty well, considering she just found out that she was responsible for the end of the world.

"My God," Marlize breathed, looking like she was ready to vomit. "I…I had no idea. How could I?"

"You had no idea that draining the intelligence of people all around the world could backfire? Are-are you serious?" Cisco asked incredulous.

"Cisco, you're not helping," Caitlin gently reproached him.

"You're right, there's no way you could have known Mrs. Devoe," Thawne said kindly, channeling his 'Harrison Wells' persona. "Just like we couldn't have known what would happen when we turned on the Particle Accelerator. We've both made mistakes, ones that have cost others dearly. The difference between us is that you have a chance to stop it. The technology used to create Skynet; you haven't created it yet, have you?"

"No, no I haven't," Marlize said lowly. "But, if what you say is true…Clifford will still want to create it, to become their teacher."

"Without you, he does not possess the ability to create the technology," T-800 pointed out. "You are the key to the future."

"You say that the experiment my husband performed slowly drives him mad. Is it possible to reverse the effects of his experiment?" Marlize asked hopefully.

"No."

The T-800's answer settled over the room, plunging it into silence. Marlize put a hand to her face, taking a few deep breathes. Caitlin placed a comforting hand on her shoulder as even Thawne looked at her sympathetically. To find out the man you loved would become a monster was a nightmarish reality that no one should have to endure.

After a few moments, Marlize seemed to gain control of herself. She lowered her hands to the table, took a deep breath and opened her eyes. No longer was this the wife of Clifford Devoe. Who sat before them now was a warrior, one determined to stop the end of the world, whatever the cost.

"You're right; I am the only one who can stop this madness," she told the T-800 before turning to the others. "Which means, in order to stop Skynet from ever existing…we need to stop my husband."

And Iris is the first casualty of T-1000, well, the first important one. And I didn't do this because I dislike Iris, although I won't be shedding nay tears over her death. In anything involving a Terminator, there will always be the loss of that innocent civilian who was somehow connected to the main character. And Iris was just that civilian.

Sorry to leave it like that but that just felt like such a good stopping point. I know this was a rather short chapter, but next one, I promise, will be much longer.
