Chapter 17

The Quiet

This was quite a normal day for the young lady who happened to be in the homeroom of strange classmates. She had been in this homeroom for two months now and was surprised that this school system happened to run by a North American time schedule despite it being in an Asian environment. She chalked that up to it being in Tokyo City and not Tokyo itself, a weird small city filled with monsters of black light and heroes of white and gray light. Though that's what made it an interesting place to live and learn.

"Bunny could you answer this question?" Ms. Inoue asked who had a standard math problem up on the board for a twelve grader.

"I will give it my best shot." Bunny said while getting out of her seat and made her way to the board. Being that math was also her homeroom made it quite difficult to remember all those little numbers, but she managed.

"Correct Ms. Bunny, you may take your seat." the teacher smiled as Bunny turned around to go back to her desk. She quickly ran her eyes over everyone in the class always finding her eyes on the strangest members of it. The couples that usually had shades of reds, blues, greens, and yellows were in fact her good friends. They truly made this school come alive just by being themselves. Just as she was about to take her seat the bell rung for them to go to their next class. She watched as her friends said goodbye to each other since they didn't have the same class anymore. At least some of them didn't.

She waved at Miyako, Eiji, and Chika who passed by her on their way to their classes that were in the art area. Bunny had to make her way to science which was luckily closer to the mathematics side of the building. She took her normal seat in the middle of the room and started taking notes from the board. A lot of kids poured into the class, but no one noteworthy. Bunny didn't really see the point of paying attention to people that didn't pull her interest.

The science lesson was something that caught her attention since it was all about mixing chemicals. She had a good knowledge of elements and chemicals, so this made her quite happy when they got to do something with it. Her partner, who again she didn't remember their name well, was also happy Bunny was able to do this too. She filled beakers and tested different samples allowing her to get an easy A for the day. Said partner thanked her for the work which Bunny sheepishly agreed, so the conversation could be over with.

Once rushing out of the classroom, she ran into Momoko who was also rushing out of her class. "Bunny, looks like you're excited for drama class too?"

"A little bit, we are actually going on the stage now with 2 other people." Bunny said while helping her up from the floor.

"That's what makes it so exciting!" Momoko laughed while taking her hand and they both ran down the stairwell. She was glad that Momoko and her were the speedy friends of their group because they always made it to class on time. She wasn't even shocked that they were the first people there as the teacher got ready for the lesson. "So, how was your science class?"

"Really fun we got to mess around with chemicals and stuff."

"Lucky, me and Kukai had history which is so boring! I nearly fell asleep." Momoko mumbled getting Bunny to giggle at her being overdramatic. Though she could understand why the red head didn't like history it was still funny to see her like this. Bunny had told her multiple times that she would be a great actress if she wanted to be.

"I'm surprised you and Kukai weren't entertaining each other." Bunny said watching Momoko's face turn red as her ribbon. Momoko quickly started hitting Bunny's shoulders almost causing the brunette to lose balance.

"Shut up, we can keep our hands to ourselves!"

"Sure you can." Bunny said trying to keep her laughter in just as the teacher signaled it was time to start. Bunny listened to the drama teacher as she handed out the scripts for the day. She saw that it required two other people to say the lines.

"Remember pick people you haven't practice with, that way you can really sell the scene."

"Guess I will act with you later Bunny." Momoko pouted as she got up to go find some partners she hadn't worked with before. That would be an easy task since Bunny would always pair up with Momoko. Meaning, Bunny was forced to go out of her comfort zone to talk to people that she didn't enjoy. At least two of her classmates had come to her which made the task a lot easier.

"Ok, pick which person is going to be the happy emotion, the angry emotion, and the sad emotion to sell the script."

"I can try the sad emotion if that's alright with you guys?" Bunny stated getting the agreements of the other two classmates. Once it looked like everyone had picked their parts, the teacher called for volunteers to read their lines. Bunny wasn't shocked that Momoko was the first to raise her hand despite her partners' groans of protest. They made their way to the stage while everyone else settled themselves into a seat.

"You may begin."

"So, why are we here again?" sniffed Momoko who Bunny figured took the sad emotion by how she was holding herself.

"We are going to meet some local singles and you're supposed to be my wingman!" the guy yelled which Bunny guessed was supposed to be the mad emotion, but it looked like he was just yelling.

"O-Oh right y-you really should have put some deodorant on then hehe." Momoko chuckled, but it was forced as she looked down showing a smaller demeanor.

"They won't notice!"

"Hey, cutie #1 and #2!" the other partner shouted showing a smile that stretched across her face.

"M-Me cute?" Momoko asked looking almost like she was going to cry, and Bunny wondered how she could pull that off. The scene carried on with the guy trying to flirt with the girl, but she was only interested in Momoko's character. The teacher praised Momoko on her performance as she gave more pointers to the other two. Bunny really could understand why Momoko wanted to take this class.

However, when she got up there it felt like she was frozen in fear. Though she usually didn't get like that, having people stare at her as she talk was more intimidating than running. The teacher gave her as much pointers as she could, but Bunny was happy to finally be off the stage. "That was scary."

"You didn't do that bad." Momoko said while elbowing her on her arm. "You actually got through the whole script this time. You are improving."

"Thank you." Bunny smiled while they turned their attention back on the other members of the class as they performed. It was kind of boring once it wasn't Momoko on stage, but Bunny knew better than to say anything. People could become hostile if you made them feel like their pride was being messed with. Luckily the sound of the bell ringing for the next period went off which brought a calm to her head.

"Come on Bunny!" Momoko said quickly taking her arm and practically pulled her all the way to their lockers. Bunny was thankful she didn't have lunch before this or Momoko would have made her lose it.

"Always the first ones here." Kukai said while getting his lunch from his locker along with Kaoru who was just a few minutes behind him.

"I can't help that my class is close to the stairs, and we are the fastest people."

"Lucky you, we're the furthest ones." Riku sighed with Chika and Ikuto huffed behind him since they were in the same class together.

"Huh? Looks like you beat Miyako and Eiji though." Bunny said seeing the blue couple nowhere in sight.

"Sorry! Science experiment exploded!" Eiji said who looked like he was covered in whatever chemical was dark green.

"Had to help him and his partner clean up." Miyako giggled while getting their lunches out of her locker. Bunny assumed that she decided to make him one today which was quite sweet for them.

"Whatever it's time for lunch!" Ikuto grinned just as the group looked at their watches or belts.

"Aah! Bunny could you bring this to our spot!" the gang said while placing the many bento boxes in her arms. "Thanks, we will be right back!"

"Ok?" Bunny said while juggling the boxes in her hands then grabbed a bag from her locker. She was never sure when that group would take off to who knows where, but she was prepared for it now. She couldn't see anything different about those watches or belts, but she didn't care that much. Right now, all she cared about was eating.

So, off she went to the tree that the group claimed was theirs even if there wasn't a way to show it. Bunny should really talk to them about putting their initials on it since they were into that cute stuff. Once there she took her bento box and sat down to eat her lunch. It was peaceful without the couples here, but the point was to hang out with them. Especially since she couldn't hang out with them all together because of their different class schedules. Bunny continued eating her meal as she started laying out her friends' meals in their typical spots. Once finished, she noticed them making their way to the tree looking quite tired.

"Are you guys ok?"

"Yup just had to um take some medicine from the nurse." Chika smiled while picking up her food and digging in.

"Yeah, um low blood sugar and stuff." Riku mumbled already with a face full of food. Bunny nodded as they began to eat, hoping to beat the clock since even she can tell they were hungry.

"Hey, did you guys ever put your names on this old tree?"

"We didn't." Kaoru said after swallowing a mouth full of rice making sure to wipe the extra bits on her hand.

"You ever thought about doing it here? I mean, isn't it your last year?"

"Huh? You are right about that." Kukai said while finishing up along with his brothers. "Might be nice and everyone can see how much you girls love us."

"Ugh shut up I don't want to do it now." Kaoru groaned while Ikuto took hold of her waist and kissed her cheek.

"But then we will be the only ones without our name on it. Come on, we can carve it with a star instead of a heart."

"But the whole point is to make it a heart to show that we will be together forever." Miyako said which did make Ikuto pout at her for pointing it out.

"Oh, come on Kaoru it won't be that bad besides with initials a lot of people can pretend it's them." Chika said rolling her eyes at her as Bunny just watched on in silence. When Kaoru was about to answer the bell rang for their next class. They all got up, some finishing whatever was left of their lunch, and made their way back into the building.

"I will think about it." Kaoru mumbled as they went, getting a cheer from the girls as Bunny watched on, making their way to their lockers.

"See you at gym Bunny." Momoko said while Kukai and Chika followed her to the science side.

"So happy I don't have a core class." Ikuto said while heading to the stairs for his course.

"Ugh why does history have to be so boring!" Eiji cried following the rest of the group to the history classrooms.

"It's only boring cause it's not art history." Kaoru said getting a giggle from Miyako as Bunny tried to hold in her laughter. Bunny went into her classroom which was only two doors away from the others. She wished that she was in their class, but she was glad this teacher was very loose with his teaching. Bunny honestly feel like she could sleep during this class, but she at least found ways to entertain herself.

Because of that, history when by like a breeze allowing Bunny to leave a bit early to get ready for gym. She wasn't surprised the girls came in looking excited for this class as well. Bunny thought it was either because they enjoyed showing off their figures to their boys, actually liked working out, or a combination of both. Whatever the case was, she always seemed to keep her eyes on them.

Today it was all about short tests of their bodies which also meant physical check ups as well. Bunny wasn't amazed that the girls were the most flexible and athletic of the girls. She wasn't even stunned that the boys were almost in their own class compared to the other boys. Though she knew she could push herself to get higher scores than them, she found her body sometimes wouldn't work with her. Oh well, she would let them have that confidence.

"Bunny is your track race on today?" Kaoru asked while they were all doing cool down stretches in a few rows.

"Oh, yup almost forgot about it."

"Time to take first place and win the school some more gold!" Ikuto shouted from his spot as a lot of others agreed. She didn't understand the appeal of it, but she felt her cheeks getting warm as she agreed too.

Slowly, the end of the day started hitting Bunny like a brick that she barely could focus in literature. She knows she got through it, but it felt like a dream to her as she took in what everyone was doing. Once the last bell rung, she felt like she was moving on auto pilot as she got all her stuff ready to go to the track. Even though running usually got her pumped, she still felt like she was watching from the backseat. The cheers of her friends did wake her up a bit as she tried to impress them.

Bunny made her way to them after the race as they cheered her on getting another gold. "Thanks again guys, seriously wouldn't have gotten through it without you."

"Please we are just the cheer squad, you did all the work." Riku said while the group agreed.

"Honey Bunny, time to go." her mom said waiting at the gate of the school. Bunny said her goodbyes and made her way over to her parents. They informed her that they had to go shopping for some food since things were running out. Bunny pouted at this but let them take her to the store.

"Do you have a preference on what you want to eat tonight?" her dad asked while she looked around feeling fed up with all this.

"Do what you want…I am getting tired of all this." Bunny sighed throwing another salad bag into the cart her mom was pushing. "You know how I get when I'm tired."

"Right! We will finish up then." her dad smiled making their way to leave. She could feel a headache coming on, but she knew she had to wait to deal with it. When they got to the hotel, Bunny and her family made their way up to the top where the penthouse was. Quickly her parents shut the door and locked it, just as Bunny felt the headache becoming almost unbearable.

"Honey?"

"Shut up!" she hissed making the adults back away in fear as she held onto herself. It felt like she was being ripped apart as she felt her skin burning at her touch. Tears started to cloud her vision while she could hear screams from her own voice, but she knew her voice wasn't being used. In another flash of pain, she had pulled herself away from the being that controlled just about everything she did.

"Truly a sad display dear Bunny, we have done these enough times that you should be numb to it."

"Still hurts." Bunny cried opening her eyes to see the figure of Bass floating above her. Suddenly, she felt her legs give out, glad to feel her parents' arms holding her.

"Heh, oh well using you as a meat suit allows those damn Powerpuff Girls Z and Rowdyruff Boys Z to not see my aura." Bass said while stretching out her arms from being in Bunny all day. "Go make me some food and make sure you take care of her. Can't have her broken, can we?" Bass smirked showing a small doll with some demonic symbols on it. She began to squeeze it a little making Bunny feel like she was choking as her parents rushed to do their tasks. Bass let go of the doll as a black powder quickly took it away before Bunny's purple eyes.

"They will stop you; you won't be able to keep this up!" Bunny hissed just as Bass pulled on her hair to look at her.

"Don't get your hopes up girl, they will be destroyed."

M.B.: Mawahaa bet you didn't see that coming! I know people were probably able to see or though Bunny was Bass, but I did try to make it with a twist. Bunny is her own character, but she's unfortunately under Bass' control. Makes things more interesting don't you think? Anyways…thanks for reading, please review…and wait and see.
