So you all can see... I am not dead, just had some really bad writer's block.
"WHAT!?"
Ruby's and Weiss's combined screaming jolts Yang out of the daze of just waking up. Sitting up makes Yang a little disoriented but a huge furry figure quickly snaps her out of it. Standing just a few feet away from her is a 7-foot tall werewolf. It sees Yang sit up and starts to move closer to her.
Screaming Yang, throws herself behind the couch and grabs the golf club that's been under the couch for years. Holding the golf club between her and the giant wolf Yang slowly backs away until her back hits the wall.
"Get back!" yells Yang, trying to get her bearings. The wolf stops and Yang almost hears a wine from the beast. Just behind the wolf is Weiss, but she's glowing and her ears are slightly pointed. As in whole body glowing. Eyes quickly glancing at Blake; her human ears are long and pointed. Dark horns sprout from her forehead curving up, and her cat ears looking much more ragged, her legs calf down are like a Panthers, and her claws are much longer with her whole hand covered with black fur. Blinking hard doesn't make any of it go away.
"Oh," says Blake snapping her fingers. "You've unlocked your sight. Let me fix that."
Blake claps her hands once and Yang's vision goes white. Yelping, Yang drops the golf club and rubs her eyes. Then opening her eyes Yang sees that everything is back to normal, which just leaves her more confused.
Ruby is standing where the Werewolf was, Weiss isn't glowing anymore, and Blake looks… less demonic. Yang feels herself slide to the floor in shock.
"Yang?" says Ruby, slowly making her way around the couch.
"Y-yeah Rubes?" Yang rakes her hands through her hair, breathing deep and slow.
"Are… I.. Yang, are you okay?" asks Ruby, standing a few feet away from Yang. Fiddling with the sleeves of her hoodie.
Yang lets out a choked laugh, "No, I'm not. I'm not human, neither are you apparently, and we just summoned a demon today! Magic is real, and so are demons and monsters. I feel like my whole life just got turned on its head! I don't know what to believe or what to do anymore, Ruby."
Rudy just stood there, head hanging and fingers digging into her sleeves. Too many emotions swirling around inside her to find her words and comfort Yang. Yang had been the best sister she could have asked for growing up, and now when it's her turn to be there. She can't.
Blake silently obverses the sisters. The Lycan is crying and Yang with her magic now unlocked is no longer a Hatchling. But she seems sad and scared. Blake doesn't like it. Dragons are strong, proud, and confident creatures. To see the last of her kind so… broken down, makes Blake's chest ache.
Taking off her white coat, Blake walks over to Yang and puts it over her shoulders. The coat resizes itself to fit Yang's broader shoulders. Crouching down to be eye level with Yang, Blake gently pets her hair and removes her hands from clutching her golden locks.
"I made a deal with you Yang. To give you and your friends my knowledge, but I'd like to add more to that if you'd let me," Yang shifts, peaking at Blake through her hair. Blake takes that as a sign to continue. "I want to help you beyond just giving you knowledge, if you give me permission to stay here with you, I will do everything I can to help you understand this part of the world. And you can teach me all about yours. Like a partnership."
"And you won't be taking my soul or anything?" asks Yang. Blake just laughs at the question.
"Gods, no. It's impossible to take a Dragons' soul out of their body. I suppose you'll just have to risk trusting me." said Blake with a grin. "Besides you won't be alone, you have your mage friend and the Lycan."
Yang glances at Ruby; still clutching her sleeves and Weiss just behind her watching the deal in the making. Blake keeps calling Weiss a mage, so she must have grown up knowing that monsters and demons are real. And Ruby… she wouldn't leave Yang alone at a time like this, her heart is too big for that.
"I know this is scary Yang," says Ruby nervously looking anywhere but at Yang. "But I went through something like this a few months ago. Weiss helped me through it, and she still is. I don't know anything about Dragons but I'll be here to help you. I love you, Yang. And I can't lose you too."
Weiss pulls Ruby into a hug, which Ruby nuzzles right into. Yang slowly stands up, legs still feeling a little shaky but manageable. Walking past Blake, Yang pulls Ruby and Weiss into one of her famous bear hugs.
"I love you too Ruby," Says Yang just loud enough for Ruby and Weiss to hear. "You too, Ice Queen."
Ruby buried her face into Yang's shoulder, silently crying. Weiss scoffs but hugs Yang back. They stay like that for a while, Blake watches with a smile on her face.
"As sweet as this is to watch," interrupts Blake. She would let them stay like that for a bit longer but she can feel her time on the surface is coming to an end. "Do we have a deal, Wyrmling?"
Yang reluctantly pulls away from the group hug.
"Wyrmling? Am I not a Hatchling anymore?" Asks Yang, Ignoring the question.
"You have unlocked your magic and already used your Sight. You are no longer a Hatching," answers Blake crossing her arms. "Back to my question, do we have a deal?"
"In exchange for staying here, you'll teach me how to use my new powers, and answer any questions I have about Dragons and stuff?" Asks Yang. Blake just nods.
Taking a deep breath Yang glances at Ruby and Weiss. Ruby gives her a small smile for support, Weiss doesn't smile, but does nod to let Yang know that it's her choice. Their support gives Yang the push she needed to settle on her choice.
"Okay, you have a deal." Yang sticks out her hand. Blake smiles and takes her hand.
Purple fire erupts from their joined hands, but it doesn't burn. It's just warm, almost comforting. Then just as suddenly as the fire appeared, it's gone. But the magic is still there.
"I swear on the River of Stix to help and guide you through mastering your powers and I shall not cause any harm to you and those close to you," swears Blake, hand still holding Yang's. "Do you Yang Xiao Long accept my swear to you?"
Yang swallows before answering, "Y-yeah."
"You have to say yes or no," says Weiss.
"Yes," corrects Yang. As soon as the syllables leave her mouth Yang feels Blake's swear brand itself to something deep inside her. Then the magic between them fades away.
Blake lets go of her hand and takes note of the silence in the living room.
"So... now what?" asks Ruby.
"I think I need a nap," says Blake as heavy fatigue settles on her. "Oh, I... I am tire-"
The demon passes out, Yang barely catches her.
"Blake!"
So I've been working on this chapter on and off for months. I got two other projects I'm working on right now, so you'll see one of those probably.
