Hello again here I bring chapter 5, but before we continue I want to explain one inconsistency, the Striaton city gym leader is other one, instead of the three siblings is just one guy, this is like that because this history happens some years before the Pokémon Black and White events, and how those three said, they were new gym leaders, so take that in mind during the history, that said I hope you like the history.
"You did good kid, if it weren't for you, we wouldn't have made it, now let the rest to us" said the officer in front of me "I recommend you to stay in the poke center for now, until we make sure the place is clear" the officer continued, I did as told and began heading to the poke center, I arrived to the door of the place but before I have entered a voice made me stop, I turned around to see Raichu, "It's something wrong?" I asked, he just stared at me for a little "You don't want to be alone?" I asked "Raichu" he answered "Ok, then let's get inside" I opened the door and let Raichu in before me, inside the Pokémon center I saw some people walking around, the nurse was taking care of something in her desk, I sat on a nearby chair, I saw Raichu running around the place and I didn't want to get in trouble, I took out Zorua's pokeball and called her out "Please keep an eye on Raichu" I said, she smiled in answer and then began following Raichu, now with Zorua making keeping an eye on Raichu I could keep one on the window, some time passed, I was still waiting there, once a while I gave Zorua and Raichu a look to make sure neither of them gets in trouble, but then I finally got news, "You kid, come with me" said a police officer from the door, I got up from the chair and made a signal for Raichu and Zorua to follow me, we walked through the city, there were some RDA soldiers moving through the whole place, they were a lot of them, whatever Team Plasma had done, they manage to annoy the wrong people.
The police officer took me to a tend where some soldiers were discussing something, I stayed nearby waiting for who have called me, "Hey kid!" I heard someone said, I turned around and saw Williams, he seemed fine, except for the crutch but better than before, "Mr. Williams… you are fine" I answered, "I told you that, I am trained for that after all" he said, "But what exactly happened?" I asked "After you leaved I encounter some Team Plasma grunts but I easily took care of them, then I manage to hide for a long time, until the spotted me and tried to get to where I was, but thankfully the help arrived in time, and of what I know, I owe it to you" he said "Really it would be to Raichu, I wouldn't have made it to here" After I said that Raichu peeked out from behind me "Thanks little friend" said Williams will looking at Raichu "You know, I have been thinking, and I think he should stay with you" Williams said "Me?, I think he is really attached to you, so…" before I could finish speaking he interrupted me "That's true, but I don't have time to take care of a Pokémon, and by what I see you are a Pokémon trainer, so is your duty now" Williams answered "If you say so" I said "Speaking of duty, do you happen to know where the Striaton city gym is?" I asked to what Williams answered, "You are really lucky, the gym leader rarely is here, but he is in the gym for now, you should give him a good challenge, but I will warn you, he is strong".
I followed William's instructions and finally arrived to the gym, the place wasn't pretty, it looked like an abandoned house or something like that, and let's just say that I wasn't sure if entering alone was a good idea, I took out Zorua and the newly captured Raichu out, I wasn't scare I promise, is just that I decided to be cautious, together we entered the place, Raichu looked scared, but Zorua like she recognized the place "'Have you ever been here girl?" I asked "Zor zoru" she answered "I'll take that as a no" I finished, we continued walking, the place had a long corridor that ended in a small door, we walked for all the hall until arriving to the small door, but it was strange, gyms normally have puzzles and some trainers to challenge the people that came for a battle, but there was nothing to stop someone to challenge the gym leader.
Carefully and slowly, I opened the door and got inside, there I found a big open room with a battle arena, but in the other side of the arena there was someone standing, a tall man dressed in black clothes and a hat of the same color, I couldn't see his face "Ahoy?" I said, trying to call the man attention, in answered I just got a laugh coming from a deep voice, "Stop playing games, could you?" I asked, but I got no answer "'Ay! be ye listening?" I asked, and finally got an answer "Sorry, I was busy in something" said the man before looking up and finally was able to see his face, or I would be, because he was using a plague doctor mask "Why the mask?" I asked, but he answered me with another question "So you came to challenge the gym?" he asked "Aye" I answered "Well, what are you waiting for" he asked "I be watin' fer ye to begin" I answered, but at the exact moment I finished saying that I noticed that somehow I Purrloin was on the battle field "Now it's you turn to move" he said "Ok Raichu lets show 'im who be stronger" Raichu jumped to the battle field, "Before start lets formally present ourselves, I am the Striaton city gym leader, but some call me Doc, my specialty are dark type Pokémon, now you are?" he said "Me name be Sailer Bates" I said "How many badges do you have?" he asked "None" I answered "Well Sailer, let's begin our battle!" and how he said, it began…
"No playing around! Thundershock!" I yelled, Raichu began charging energy "Fake Out" he said calmly, Raichu was about to attack when Purrloin acted, the attacked made him flinch, preventing his attack, but he managed to recover quickly "Iron tail!" I yelled, Raichu then launched himself against Purrloin with his tail moving to take impulse, "Purrloin Fury Attack" said Doc, Purrloin launched himself against Raichu, but he blocked the first attack with his tail and then launched Purrloin back before he could land the rest of the attacks, both Pokémon landed on the ground a small distance away from each other "Charge at 'im, Quick Attack!" I ordered "Sand Attack" said Doc even more calmly, Raichu charged against Purrloin at full speed and clashing against Purrloin, but just an instant after that Purrloin launched his attack and landed it on Raichu's face, lowering his accuracy "That all what you can do?" said the gym leader "I was expecting a better challenge kid" he said.
Raichu got up quickly and prepared to continue, I was going to order the attack but then I stopped, I needed a better strategy than just attacking blindly, "Raichu, attack with thunder wave" I said, Raichu then launched some spark against Purrloin, but the move missed… and the gym leader didn't waste any time after that "Purrloin Fury Swipes" the purple cat jumped against Raichu and was about to attack but… "Raichu, Thundershock!" I shouted, Raichu quickly charged the attack and then launched against Purrloin, and this time it landed, making Purrloin fall, "No loosin' time, Thunderwave!" I said, and this time the attack landed, some sparks surrounded Purrloin, paralyzing him, "Purrloin Scratch!" said the gym leader "Let us end this here now, Iron Tail!" both Pokémon launched themselves against the other, but this time Raichu was faster and hit Purrloin launching it back to the ground, knocking him out.
"I would say that you impressed me, but I would be lying, you need to think before attacking, but now let's see if you learned something, because you can only defeat my next Pokémon with a good strategy, so be ready kid" the gym leader took his last Pokémon pokeball, and from it a Deino appeared, "So a Dragon and Dark type Pokémon" I said "Well Raichu lets end this here! Thundershock!" Raichu attacked "Dragon Breath Deiono!" he said, the Dragon type attack was much stronger impacted against Raichu, and it knocked him out… "Do you understand why this happened?" Doc asked, but I didn't had an answer, "Your Raichu had a higher level than Deiono, but it was exhausted, even if it wasn't, you would have lost anyway, because you just blindly attacked, giving me the change to gave a strong blow" he said, and after a moment of silence he continued "But that isn't everything, you know that Pokémon are more than pets, they are family Sailer, you need to love them for them to love you back, so stop trying to pretend that you are superior, and fight side by side with you Pokémon" he was right, i was trying to be a leader similar to my Grandfather, but he is the captain because his crew respect him, I need to gain my Pokémon love and trust, if I do it, we will be more stronger "What do ye say lass? side by side, win or defeat, whatever 'appens, but together" I said, "Zor zorua!" she said, and then jumped to the battle field "Fer the win!" I screamed, and the last round began.
"Zorua, Torment!" I said, Zorua used the move and affected Deino, "Tackle!" said the gym leader "Dodge it lass!" Zorua jumped back just in time to avoid Deino's attack "You will not escape, Dragon Breath!" said the gym leader almost instantly, "Down lass!" I said, Zorua throwed herself to the ground narrowly dodging the attack, "Use leer on it as many time as you can lass" I said, Zorua started using the move over and over while dodging Deino's Bite, Tackle, Dragon Rage and Dragon Breath, and after a while it was finally done, "Time fer a final attack lass, Scratch" I said and Zorua launched herself against Deiono, "Counter it with Dragon Breath" said Doc, the attack covered Zorua, but she managed to resist it "This time it ends, Pursuit!" I screamed with all my might, Zorua attacked Deino, and because of its now low defense, the hit was devastating, Deino began walking in circles and then it felled, it was defeated, the battle was over, we won… I let out a cry of joy, "I have to congratulate you, somehow you defeated me, and now I grant you with this badge, and this TM for Thief, normally that would be all, but I have something else, follow me" he said "A while ago a man came and told that someone like you would challenge me" he said "Let me guess" I said "You have a good grandfather kid, he told me that you try to be like him, but you don't have to, be yourself".
We continued walking for another hall, at the end was a cylindric container "Captain Ernest, you grandfather asked many favors to get you this" then he opened the container, and from it he took a… Pokémon egg! "He wants you to have this, just take good care of it, and this time treat it with love" then putting the egg bag in the machine he took it and gave it to me, "I recommend you to go challenge Lenora next, she is tough, but if you defeated me you can defeat her, good luck kid" after that I exit the gym with the egg inside the machine in my hands, knowing that my journey just began.
