Ahoy again everyone, this here be the chapter 8, as always 'ope ye enjoy it!
The Nacrene city gym is totally different from the one in Striaton city, it was a gym, inside a library inside a museum, I mean, in my grandfather's ship there is a lot of stuff like that, but this time it took me by surprise, to challenge Lenora, the gym leader, I had to first solve a puzzle in the library, and after solving it, one of the bookshelf moved showing some stairs that leaded to the battle field, and there was she.
"Mistress Lenora, I be Sailer Bates and I be 'ere to challenge ye" I said while standing in the arena "I know why you are here, and who are you, Doc told me of your arrival" she answered "I guess I can't go unnoticed anymore" I said "The fact that you solved the puzzle show that you have a good thinking capacity, something very important to become a strong trainer, and I warn you that you will need it to beat me!" she said, and the battle began.
She began with a Herdier, "Alright, time fer battle Raichu!" is said while calling him out, "Raichu, use Thunderwave" I said, the move got launched against Herdier, "Use Take Down" Lenora ordered to her Pokémon, the dog launched against Raichu, but the Thunderwave hit it before getting close enough, "Dodge it!" I said to Raichu, how moved aside before Herdier could hit him, "Thundershock, now!" Raichu launched a lighting against Heardier, "Dodge it and use bite!" Herdier jumped dodging the attack, and then ran against Raichu with her mouth open, "Dodge it Raichu!" I said, but even though she was paralyzed, Herdier was still fast, and fast enough to hit her attack, she bitted Raichu's arm, and he got a little disturb for that, he began moving trying to free himself from Herdier, "Keep calm!" I said, he then looked at me "Raichu chu rai!" like trying to say, "Is easy say it than do it!" I tried to think in a solution "I know, lad, try usin' thundershock!" he then understood for what I told him to do it, he then charge the attack, and then freed all the energy, and because Herdier was touching Raichu, she received the full charge, and was enough to make her release Raichu's arm, after his arm was free Raichu looked at it in relief "Be ye find lad?" I asked, "Rai" he answered as a yes, "Now Raichu, use Quick attack!" at a great speed Raichu began running on all fours against Herdier, "Herdier, use Take Down" the normal type began running against Raichu as well, then both Pokémon jumped against each other, Raichu landed his attack first, but Herdier attack was stronger, so strong that launched Raichu against the wall "She be really strong" I said to myself, "If I want to win, I'll 'ave to think in somethin', but what?
"I think I got it, Raichu, use Thundershock!" I said, "Dodge it and use Bite!" was Lenora's response, Herdier jumped and into the air and doge Raichu attack, but this time I was expecting it "Quick Raichu, use Iron Tail!" I said almost screaming, and before Herdier could land her attack she received the hit of Raichu's Iron Tail, it had enough force to launch her off the arena and knocking her out of combat.
"That last attack took me by surprise, I must admit it, but this fight is not over yet!" she said while taking her last Pokémon "Go Watchog!" she said, and the Pokémon appeared, "Let's end this here now!" Raichu, use Thundershock!" I said, Raichu began charging the attack, "Watchog, use Retaliate!" Raichu attack hit Watchog, but she did not stop, she continued until hitting Raichu, throwing him a short distance away, but making him fall, "Be ye find" Raichu with a lot of work managed to wake up, "Quick Watchog, use Hypnosis!" before I could react Watchog move landed and made Raichu fell asleep, "Fer Arceus!" I said a little upset "Come back" I said while withdrawing Raichu, "Well, this here isn't o'er until be o'er, everythin' depends on ye, go now!" I said while calling Zorua out, she appeared in the arena, but she was disguised as a Pansage, then she took a defensive position, "well, lass, our opponent may be strong, but we still can win" I said to inspire Zorua, "Now use Leer lass!" I said, she menacingly looked to Watchog, "Watchog, use Hypnosis" Zorua looked at me smiling, we both knew that Hypnosis wouldn't affect her, but Lenora didn't know that, then the move landed on her, so she faked getting asleep "Not again!" I said acting, "This is over, Watchog, use Crunch!" Watchog began getting close, and when she was close enough, "Now Zorua, Feint Attack!" Zorua jumped to the air and broke her illusion, managing to take Watchdog by surprise, "That there took ye out off guard, doesn't it?" I said while smiling "It did, but let's see if it's enough to win, Watchog, use Retaliate!" she said "Let us finish this Zorua! Use Thieve!" both Pokémon attacked, but thanks to being smaller Zorua managed to dodge the attack, and hit Watchog back, making her fall, and finally, out of combat "Good job lass!" I said in excitement "Congratulations, you have earned the Basic Badge, and this TM67, for Retaliate, she said while giving them to me, "And you will need this too" she said while handing me a box, "Doc told me about a bout the egg you have, and you will need that, is a book of how to take good care of the Pokémon that is inside, so to not ruin the surprise open it when the egg hatches, that will be soon, anyways, I recommend you go to Castelia city and challenge Burg, good luck!" she said, and then I leaved.
I went running to the Poke center, I let the egg there because I didn't want to risk bringing it to a gym battle, but I was worried during all the battle about not knowing how it was, I know that the nurse is good at her job, but I am becoming a little attach to it, so I feel worried every time it isn't in my view line, and thinks are going to become worse once the egg hatches, so the book is going to be helpful.
I went to the Poke center, healed Zorua and Raichu, and picked up the egg, then, because it was midday I decide to head to Castelia city, I knew I wouldn't arrive today, but I was impatient, and I maybe could catch another Pokémon, gym battles will be 3vs3 from now, and I only have two Pokémon ready to fight, so I might have to find a new member for the crew, so with the incubator in hands I began walking through the forest, I rarely took the route, I know it is easier, but for some reason I always go for the forest, at least that way I avoid young trainers that want a battle, but this time, I kind of regrated it, it was almost night time, I couldn't find any Pokémon that called my attention, so I just kind of sat at the base of a tree for the rest of the time, until the incubator started to shake…
I putted the thing on the ground and carefully took the egg out, it was actually the first time I directly touched it, and now if I wasn't wrong… then the egg began to shine, a really bright light that almost left me blind, yeah, look at it directly wasn't the best idea I had, anyways, the light began to go out and feel how the egg shape changed, and then the light went totally off, and a small round shaped creature took the place of the egg in my hands "Uh… ah… ahoy little one…" I said nervous, the Pokémon then looked at me with a curious look, then I recognized the Pokémon, it was a Gible, a Dragon type Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, and judging from the dorsal fin over it head, it was a female one, "'Ay lass I be…" I interrupted myself, because she would not understand a word of what I was saying, then my happiness got interrupted when I realized that I was with a newborn Pokémon, just standing in the middle of the forest, and it was almost night, "Dear Arceus, I better get back to Nacrene city before night!" I said and the began running at full speed, taking the path that I previously took, after a while I got back to Nacrene city, "Here we are lass, now we should…" I had not noticed that she fell asleep, I smiled before quietly walking towards the Poke center.
