Here with a new story. This is rated for a few reasons, such as language, lemons/limes, mentions of abuse, possible self-harm…there will be a few other things here and there, but for now, please enjoy the first chapter.

A young boy turned the corner and was knocked back. Looking up, he saw a girl around his age sitting under the streetlight with grey skin, a tail and light blue hair. Standing up, the boy ran over to her and helped her up, "Are you okay?" the girl looked at him with frightened eyes before the two of them felt a couple of raindrops hit their heads, "Let's go…my house is right down the street," without thinking, the boy took the girl by the hand and led her down the street as rain began to fall from the darkened sky.

Approaching house that was decorated with cacti outside, the boy led the girl up to the porch and panted, "We made it…but why are you wearing that costume?" the girl frowned as she looked away, "Are you okay?"

"I…it's not a costume…I'm a monster," the girl frowned and looked away, "I…I'm a monster…why aren't you scared?"

The boy stared at her for a moment before he slightly smiled, "My name is Marco Diaz, nice to meet you…what's your name?"

"S-Star Butterfly, but…why aren't you scared, or trying to kill me?" Star frowned and hung her head and Marco tilted his head to the side in confusion, "Look at me…I'm a hideous monster…people want to hurt me,"

"Well…they're dumb…you shouldn't be afraid of people because of that," the rain began getting heavier and Marco frowned as he shook his head, "We should get inside…I'm sure my parents won't mind the company," Star frowned and slowly nodded before Izuku opened the door and the two of them stepped inside.

Marco's parents stared at the children in front of them as Marco stood in front of Star, his arms spread out as he stared at his parents. His mother, Angie, frowned as she knelt down at their level, "Star, sweetie…why don't you tell me and Rafael a bit about yourself…like…how did this happen to you?"

Star frowned and looked away before Marco placed a hand on her shoulder and she looked up as he smiled, "It's okay, Star. They won't hurt you, I promise," Str let out a shaky breath before she tightly hugged Marco and Marco returned the embrace.

Without letting go, Star looked up and shook her head, "My mom was attacked by a monster…she had later and…they locked me up until I was six and they sent me here…where are we? Are we still on Mewni?"

"No," Angie slowly shook her head, "Star, sweetie, we're on earth, in America, the state of California in a city called Echo Creek," Angie reached over and patted the top of the young girl's head, "You're more than welcomed to stay here," Star looked at her with wide eyes, "Marco isn't afraid of you, you seem like a nice girl and it would be wrong if we just turn you away, especially on a night like tonight," the four looked out to see rain pouring down in sheets before lightning flashed and thunder roared, "You can stay as long as you'd like,"

"Si," Rafael smiled and nodded, "You seem like a good kid and we wouldn't feel right if we send you away just because of your race," Star lightly cried as Marco smiled and rubbed her back as the two adults smiled at them.

Star and Marco stood in Marco's room as Star looked around with wide eyes, "Are you going to be okay?" Star looked back in confusion, "Sharing a room? Sorry, but our other room is being repaired…are you going to be okay with this?"

"A-are you?" Marco hummed and arched, "Look at me, Marco, I'm a monster…aren't you scared I might hurt you?" Marco hummed as he shook his head, "But why?"

"Because I can see you're scared, and I know what it's like to have people hate you for something you can't help," Marco frowned and Star tilted her head to the side in confusion, "Anyway…you can use my bed, I'll sleep on the floor, an-"

"Um…a-actually," Marco looked at the frightened monster girl as Star hung her head and rubbed her arms as a frown formed across her lips, "Can you stay on the bed with me?" she looked up to see Marco staring at her with wide eyes, "It's just…I've been locked away for as long as I can remember and…I don't like being alone…I know you're still going to be here, but-" before she could finish, Marco took her by the hand and she looked up him in surprise.

The young boy smiled at the young girl as Marco shook his head, "It's okay, Star, I'll sleep on the bed, too," Star slightly smiled and nodded before the two of them climbed into the bed and got under the covers.

The two stared out the window as rain droplets slid down the glass before a bolt of lightning flashed, illuminating the sky, followed by a clap of thunder, that shook the windows of the house. Star shook before wrapping her tail around Marco and nuzzled closer to him and wrapped her arms around him. Marco looked down and wrapped an arm around Star and began rubbing her back, "Are you scared?"

"Cold," Star shook and Marco frowned, "Whenever I get cold, I get really tired, and it feels like I'm dying," Marco inhaling slowly as Star inched closer to him, "You…you don't mind this…do you?"

Marco smiled before holding Star closer to him, "I don't want my new friend to feel uncomfortable…so we can stay like this," Star faintly smiled before she yawned and closed her eyes. Marco yawned and closed his eyes as the two fell asleep in each other's arms.

Angie and Rafael stepped into their son's room the following morning and saw the two children sleeping in each other's arms, "They seemed to have gotten close rather quickly," Angie smiled before walking up to the two and saw the peaceful looks crossing their faces before she frowned, "I can't imagine the hell she has been through, and by her own family…disgusting," Rafael hummed and nodded in agreement, "But she's safe here and it appears as though Marco won't let any harm come to his new little friend,"

"And that's good," Rafael spoke, stepping closer to his wife, "Marco needs a friend who understands the pain of being judge because of their race and vice versa. Marco is a good kid and we know he wouldn't do anything to hurt his new friend and even though we just met her last night, Star seems like a sweet girl who wouldn't harm a fly,"

Angie hummed, "I know…but for now we should let them sleep…we'll go downstairs and make some breakfast," Rafael nodded in agreement before the two of them turned and quietly walked out of room, quietly closing the door behind them.

Marco slowly opened his eyes to see Star still nuzzled up against him, her tail around him. He smiled as he lightly poked Star's cheeks, waking her, "Morning," Star smiled and yawned, "C'mon, let's go get something to eat,"

"Okay," the two climbed out of bed and stretched before Star hugged Marco and Marco looked at her, "Thank you…for saving me last night and for letting me stay here with you," Marco slightly smiled and nodded before hugging her back.

Okay, so this might be the only chapter where they're kids…please enjoy.
