It is hard to kill a familiar. They were born to endure. They were bred to last. They were taught to be predators.

If Sandeman's plans had come to full fruition, they would have had a big problem. But in these post Pulse times, the humans killed their only hope of surviving the Coming. This was too easy. They deserved earth so much more than the humans. Look at what they did with it. Anything that could have given the humans an advantage, they destroyed.

Soon, they would rule the world, just a few hours and the humans would know their real place in the world. No more posturing to weak politicians, no more holding back. They would rule and the humans will know it. And those abominations of transgenics will have nowhere to run or hide. Just a few targeted genetic bombs and they would be history.

They would remain. And the humans also, well, part of the humans. After all, what was the point of ruling, if you didn't have anyone to rule over.

The hardest part was waiting. Unlike others, he was not worried about the minor complications that recently occurred. Humans had always been pests. Why should that be any different now? Coming or no Coming, that was how the humans were. Being worried would mean that they had something to worry about. They didn't. There was nothing, no one, that could prevent the ascension of Familiars.

Really, all there was left to do was wait.
