Welcome back everyone, back to a world where two of the greatest Disney cartoons of this generation come together. Yes, a new update to this new story and so far everyone has been loving it. A lot of praise from the first chapter alone which I honestly didn't feel was warned yet. I mean the concept of Eda and Stan being married at one time isn't new and the changes to the first chapter are more subtle at best. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of changes to come and this chapter will be no different. Hell other chapters will have some major shifts or twist even if we aren't there yet. So hearing/reading everyone wanting me is such a surprise but a welcome one.

But to be a bit transparent here, I rushed this chapter because this is a gift to a fellow author and co-writer to a lot of our stories, Wolfpackersson09. His birthday was a few days ago but life and work slowed me down but I feel I did what I needed to for this chapter. So happy late Birthday Wolf, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

While the new style of code doesn't mean people don't solve it. so Nomadskout8 and MarauderPrime12 are our code breakers so nice work you two.

Are you ready for the insanity? Too late because here we go!

~Chapter 2 The Gobblewonker and the Light~

Stan was up a bit early the next morning at the Mystery Shack, working in the kitchen to make some pancakes for Dipper and Mabel since the kind of day they had yesterday. He already had an idea of how to make it a relaxing day as well as bond with his family. He glanced back to see the twins with their plate of pancakes while each holding a different brand of syrup.

"Are you ready for the ultimate challenge?" Mabel asked as she held her bottle.

Dipper grinned and held his own, "I'm always ready!"

Mabel matched his grin, "then you know what this means!"

Stan paused, watching and wondering what they are up to. He got his answer when they shouted, "Syrup Race!" Before they turned the bottled upside down over their heads and a long drip slowly crawled out and towards their open mouths.

Stan couldn't help but chuckle fondly as the twins 'cheered' for their pick to win.

"Go, Sir Syrup!"/"Go, Mountie Man!"

The Elder Pines smiled as he felt he was watching his younger self and Ford, doing their own crazy antics. Made him wish they had thought of 'Syrup race' when they were younger. He watched as Mabel held her hand up as she neared victory. "Almost... almost..." she mutters before she taps the bottom of her bottle, giving the final jump to win the race. "Yes! (Coughs) I won! (Coughs)"

Stan shook his head and went back to finish making breakfast before Eda came down. She was never a morning person, but Stan would always at least make sure she had what she needed in the morning. As Mabel recovers from her 'victory' Dipper picks the paper up that he had brought and started to flip through it. He stopped when he found a page that caught his interest. "Ho ho, no way! Hey Mabel, check this out."

Mabel leans over to see and focused on an advertisement that spoke out to her. "Human-sized hamster balls?" She gasps, "I'm human-sized!"

Dipper blinked before realizing the problem. "No, no, Mabel. This," he pointed to an advertisement for a Monster Photo contest with a grand prize of a thousand dollars. It even showed last year's winning photo which Dipper wasn't too impressed by. "We see weirder stuff than that every day! We didn't get any photos of those gnomes, did we?"

Mabel shook her head, "Nope, just memories…and this beard hair." Here she holds up a small tuff of gray hair that no doubt belonged to one of the Gnomes' beards.

Dipper looked a little uneasy, "why did you save that?"

Mabel just shrugs and makes an 'I dunno' sound. Stan, who was listening to the whole time placed some more pancakes on a plate for his wife. "Just think of it as a trophy of your victory and dominance. Besides you, two don't have to worry about getting any picture of those runts. When Eda takes you to the Boiling Isles you will be able to get a picture to win that contest with ease."

"But all submissions must be placed this weekend," Dipper explained as he pointed to the small section to the contest rules. "And with mail systems, we have less than a few days before it would be too late and even then, it would be close. Who knows when Graunty Eda will even take us there."

"Take you where?" Eda grumbled as she slowly dragged her slipper-covered feet into the kitchen. She was hunched over and rubbing her head while her eyes looked half-awake. She went to the fridge and started to rifle through it.

"Morning Graunty Eda!" Mabel called out happily.

"Kid it's early," Eda said as she straightens up and poured a cup of a red liquid into a mug. Dipper saw the jug she poured from was labeled 'Apple Blood' before she placed it back into the fridge. "I haven't even gotten my cup of Apple Blood yet."

"You mean apple juice?" Mabel asked, hoping she heard wrong.

"…no," was Eda's only curt reply.

As she took a drink out of her 'Thirty and Flirty' mug, Dipper looked to Stan and was about to ask what was Apple Blood, but Stan slowly shook his head giving him a feeling of 'you don't want to know.' Eda gave a sigh after a big drink before asking, "So what were you guys talking about?"

Stan pushed the plate of pancakes to his wife while eating his own plate. "The kids were talking about a monster photo contest they want to enter. I told them that whenever you take them to the Boiling Isles they will have plenty of chances."

Eda nodded and took another sip of her mug, "we're heading there tomorrow."

"Really!?" Came the twins' cry in excitement.

Eda took a bite of her pancake but nodded all the same. "Yep, I figured it was a long enough wait. Plus, I got some potion deliveries I got to make tomorrow, so we get two griffins with one spell."

Stan chuckled, "at least you two are excited for tomorrow. But for you knuckleheads; do you know what day it is?

The twins were confused before they gave their best guesses, Dipper saying "Um... Happy anniversary?" While Mabel cheered, "Mazel tov!"

Stan rolled his eyes at their guesses. "It's Family Fun Day. We're cutting off work and having one of those, you know," he took a bite of his pancakes "bonding-type deals."

Dipper glanced at Mabel before he asked "Grunkle Stan, are you sure?"

Stan sighed, "all right, maybe I haven't been the best summer caretaker. But I swear, today we're gonna have some real family fun."

"I guess we can give it a try," Mabel said before looking at the other female in the room, "you going to join us, Graunty Eda?"

"Sorry can't," Eda admitted truthfully. "I got a couple of potions to finish for tomorrow and they are gonna take most of the day."

"You will have plenty of time to bond at the isles," Stan said with a wide grin. "Now who wants to put on some blindfolds and get into my car?"

Dipper and Mabel both cheered loudly "Yay!" Before Dipper realized what he just heard. "Wait, what?"

(Scene change)

On a road in the forest, Grunkle Stan is driving his car with Dipper and Mabel blindfolded in the backseat. Stan leans down to adjust the radio and the tires screech as the car moved. In the back, the twins slid slightly from the moment. "Whoa! Whoa!" Dipper cried before he steadied himself and sighs. "Blindfolds never lead to anything good."

Mabel seemed to disagree. "Wow! I feel like all my other senses are heightened. I can see with my fingers!"

Mabel reaches with her hands to touch around, including Dipper's face, making him laugh. The car suddenly jumps, making the twins fly into the air, only for their seatbelts to bring them back. "Whoa!" Dipper grunts in the sudden jerk, before he asks "Grunkle Stan, are you wearing a blindfold?"

Stan laughed "Nah, but with these cataracts, I might as well be." He paused and squints as he tries to focus on something, a hand over his eyes. "What is that a woodpecker?"

This caused Stan to drive through a wooden guardrail, making the twins scream in fright as they felt themselves weightless.

(Scene change)

Dipper and Mabel, still blindfolded, stood in front of the parked car, which now has branches and sticks caught in the grill. Stan smiled as he stood in front of them, "Okay, okay. Open 'em up!"

Dipper & Mabel untie their blindfolds to see their Grunkle Stan all geared up for in fishing gear. "Ta-da!" He exclaims, "It's fishing season!"

"Fishing?" Mabel asked, not expecting this.

Dipper frowned, "what're you playin' at, old man?"

This didn't seem to deter Stan. "You're gonna love it! The whole town's out here!"

Dipper and Mabel looked out onto the large lake to see various townspeople doing different fishing activities. One lady with grayish teal hair with one make up covered eye closed was sitting in a boat with one hand holding a frying pan and the other a fishing pole. "Here, fishy fishies! Get into the pan!"

At the end of a dock, a man was taking a picture with a large fish that he caught while a short goblin-like man held the camera. "Say cheese!" The tiny man said before taking the picture. The sudden flash caused the fisherman to jerk and fall backward off the dock and into the lake.

In another boat was a large bear of a man with a bushy red bear said with his arms cross while three boys (most likely his sons) sat across from him. One of the boys held up a fishing pole towards the man. "Uh, is this good?"

"NO!" The man shouts before he takes the pole and snaps it over his knee. "I'll show you how a real man fishes!" He told them before he shot his hand into the water and pulled out a large trout that wiggled in his hands. The man laughs in victory before he throws fish on the floor of their boat and jumps on it like he was wrestling before he starts punching it repeatedly.

This caused his sons to cheer and chant loudly. "Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad!"

Another boat pulled up, with a smaller man sitting inside who noticed the fight and started cheering as well. "Get 'em! Get 'em!"

Stan grinned and looked back at the twins, "That's some quality family bonding."

Dipper however was still suspicious "Grunkle Stan, why do you wanna bond with us all of a sudden?"

Stan sighed, "look I feel a bit bad about the Norman situation. Yes, Eda had her safety net/magic protection and it was a lesson but it doesn't mean I don't feel a bit bad. I want to make up with some family bonding. Come on, it's gonna be great! I've never had fishing buddies before. The guys from the lodge won't go with me: they don't "like" or "trust" me.

Mabel leaned over and whispered to Dipper, "I think he actually wants to fish with us. And he wants to make up for yesterday."

Stan snapped his fingers as if to remember something, "Hey, I know what'll cheer you sad sacks up." He reached into his car and pulled something out. He then turned and quickly slapped two fishing hats on Dipper's and Mabel's heads. "Pow! Pines family fishing hats! That-that's hand stitching, you know."

The twins took the hats off and looked them over. The stitching was clearly hand done and by someone who wasn't the best with a needle. Dipper's was spelled 'Dippy' while Mabel's had the 'E' backward.

As if it proves the point, the "L" on the "MABEL" hat started to peel so that it was nearly off.

Stan took the fact they weren't rejecting the hats nor saying anything bad as good news. "It's just gonna be you, me, and those goofy hats on a boat for ten hours!"

"Ten hours?" Dipper asked, stunned by the time their uncle had planned for them.

Stan grinned "I brought the joke book!" He holds up a book with the title '1001 yuk 'em ups'.

"No! NO!" Dipper cried in terror.

"There has to be a way out of this," Mabel whispered to her brother, concerned as well.

As if the universe was answering her plea, a loud voice "I SEEN IT! I SEEN IT AGAIN!"

The speaker was an old man with a long white beard with a band-aid on it, wearing a dirty broken hat, suspenders, and a wrapped cast on one arm and his feet bare except for some bandages. He pushed two men aside as he ran from the docks, broke a fishing pole stand, knocked a table of fishing bait over and knocked a sub out of the hands of one man, and pass a strange bald man wearing goggles and a grey jumpsuit. The hillbilly stopped in front of the crowd and exclaimed, "The Gravity Falls Gobblewonker! Come quick before it scrabdoodles away!"

The old man then started a frantic yet jittery dance which included a slap to the knee. Mabel cooed at the dance. "Awww...he's doing a happy jig."

The man however stopped his dance, came onto Mabel, and shook her in freight, "Nooo! It's a jig of grave danger!"

A game warden came out of the cabin overlooking the lake. He spotted the man and scowled, "Hey, hey! Now what did I tell you about scaring my customers? This is your last warning, Dad!" here he took a spray bottle and sprayed it at the old man like he was a misbehaving dog.

The hillbilly made a few small noises from the spray like an animal before he pointed to the dock. "But I got proof this time, by gummity!"

Everyone followed him to the dock to see this proof if nothing more than to end the matter. The man pointed to a small boat that was broken and barely floating in the water. Dipper noticed that the boat didn't look broken from poor maintenance or crashing into the docks or another boat. To Dipper, it looked like something heavy crushed it from above.

"Behold!" he shouts as he points to the boat. "It's the Gobble-dy-wonker what done did it! It had a long neck like a gee-raffe! And wrinkly skin like...like this gentleman right here!"

He was pointing to Stan who wasn't paying attention to what he was saying and picking his ear. That is until he noticed that everyone was looking at him. "Huh?"

The old man went on, "it chawed my boat up to smitheroons, and shim-shammed over to Scuttlebutt Island!" he pointed to the lone island on the lake, barely seen through the mist around it. "You Gotta Believe Me!"

A police boat rolled up with the Sheriff and his deputy standing in it. Sheriff Blubs took his radio and announced over the boat speakers "Attention all units! We got ourselves a crazy old man!"

this caused everyone but the Pines and the warden to point and laughs at the hillbilly. The warden shook his head at his father's antics and went back to the cabin. The old man started to walk off, head down and looking slightly depressed. "Aww, donkey spittle. Aw, banjo polish."

Stan rolled his eyes as everyone else went back to their business. "Well, that happened. Now let's untie this boat and get out on that lake!"

As Stan worked to untie his small fishing boat, Dipper rubbed his chin in thought. "Say, Grunkle Stan, is there a monster in this lake?"

"Not that I know of," Stan answered honestly. "But I wouldn't listen to Old Man McGucket. He's the crazy person in this town and anything he says should be taken as a grain of salt."

This however gave Dipper an idea and he turned to his sister. "Mabel, you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Mabel closed an eye and mimicked Old Man McGucket, "Aww, donkey shpittle."

Dipper shook his head, "the other thing, about the monster. If we can snag a photo of it, we can split the prize fifty-fifty."

Mabel was split as while the prize splitting would be nice, she saw a small issue. "How do we know if it is real? Grunkle Stan doesn't think so and he would know more than us. Plus, I thought we would be getting a photo for the contest on the Boiling Isles."

"But if we find that monster for the contest now, we don't have to worry about the Isles and that can be our backup plan," Dipper explained before pointing to Stan's boat. "Besides do you really want to go fishing for ten hours?"

"Ummm," was Mabel's response, unsure about this.

Dipper went in for the kill that he knew would work. "Imagine what you could do with five. Hundred. Dollars."

Mabel's imagination went wild as she imagined the human-size hamster ball and the adventures she was sure she would have with it. "Dipper, I am one million percent on board with this!" she exclaimed.

Dipper turned to their uncle. "Grunkle Stan! Change of plans; we're taking that boat to Scuttlebutt Island, and we're gonna find that Gobblewonker!"

This idea surprised Stan while Dipper and Mabel started cheering, "monster hunt! Monster hunt!" at least until Old Man McGucket appeared and joined in, "Monster hunt!"

Dipper and Mabel stop chanting and stare at McGucket who realized the situation. "Monster... Eh... I'll go."

Stan was just sitting in his boat, processing what Dipper just told him. "Are you kidding me? Are you seriously going to believe that fool?"

Before they could answer, a large honking sound is heard. They turned to see Soos pulling up in his own boat which was larger than Stan's own fishing boat and dubbed 'S.S. Cool Dude'. Soos grinned as he dropped anchor and called out to them. "You dudes say somethin' about a monster hunt?"

"Soos!" Mabel cried out in delight.

"Wassup, hambone!" Soos greeted back before he and Mabel fist bump and make explosion noises. Once done Soos addressed the twins, "dude, you could totally use my boat for your hunt. It's got a steering wheel, chairs; normal boat stuff."

Stan had enough and decided to end this charade. "All right, all right, let's think this through. You kids could go waste your time on some epic monster-finding adventure, or you could spend the day learning how to tie knots and skewer worms with your Great Uncle Stan!"

The twins frowned before looking at Soos in his boat as he did the robot. They look back at Stan in his boat which was leaking as he grinned at them…before he goes and sniffs his left armpit. They look towards Scuttlebutt Island in the distance, the feeling of adventure calling to them. The twins grin at each other, the decision clear to them. "So, whaddaya say?" Stan asked, taking a pose with his eyes closed, waiting for the boat to shift as the twins got in.

However, his answer was the horn of Soos's boat, causing him to open his eyes and see them sailing away with Soos. The Twins were laughing and cheering as the boat sped ahead. Stan stared gapping as he could hear Mabel call out loud: "We made the right choice!" followed by Soos's "Yes!" which rubbed salt in the wound.

Stan's gapping face turned into a scowl. "Ingrates!" he cries before he waved his hand at them. "Aw, who needs 'em? I got a whole box of creepy fishing lures to keep me company." Stan sat in his boat and looked at the lures in question. After a moment Stan cringes in disgust and closes the box.

On aboard the S.S. Cool Dude, Dipper stood on the stern of the boat, one foot on the guardrail. He adjusts the visor of his cap and felt like an actual captain as they sailed towards the island.

Turning around, Dipper gave the orders, "hoist the anchor!"

Soos pulls up cinderblock anchor to allow them to move with more speed. "Raise the flag!" Dipper said to which Mabel held up a beach towel as their flag.

"We're gonna find that Gobblewonker!" Mabel said gleefully.

"We're gonna win that photo contest!" Dipper agreed.

Soos however had an important question. "Do any of you dudes have sunscreen?"

The twins paused, realizing a problem. "we're gonna…go get sunscreen!" Dipper said with the same tone and energy to keep it alive.

Mabel and Soos both cheered aloud, "Yay!" as Soos turned the boat around back to the docks. Unknown to the crew of the S.S. Cool Dude, a strange shape swam beneath them.

After a short trip to the fishing shack for sunscreen and other supplies, the team was back on the boat heading towards the island. Dipper paced in front of Mabel and Soos as he told them what they needed to do. "Alright, if we wanna win this contest we've gotta do it right. Think; what's the number one problem with most monster hunts?"

Soos raised his hand "you're a side character, then you die within the first five minutes of the movie." He paused and looked a bit scared. "Dude, am I a side character? Do y'ever think about stuff like that?"

Dipper shook his head, "no, no, no. Camera trouble! Say Bigfoot shows up. Soos, be Bigfoot."

Soos turned and then strikes the famous Bigfoot pose. Dipper then said in a mock acting voice. "There he is! Bigfoot!" he pats his life-vest as if looking for something while still in the acting tone. "Uh-oh, no camera!" he pulled a camera out of his life jacket. "Oh, wait, here's one! Aw, no film!" he placed the camera back before speaking in his normal tone. "You see? You see what I'm, doing here?"

"Oh, yeah. Dude's got a point," Soos said as Mabel nodded.

Dipper walked in with a small sack. "That's why I bought seventeen disposable cameras!" he then quickly revealed their locations. "Two on my ankle, three in my jacket, four for each of you, three extras in this bag, and one... under my hat!" he lifted the hat to show the last camera safely set. "There's no way we're gonna miss this. Okay everybody, let's test our cameras out."

Soos was the first to try, but he had the camera the wrong way and actually blinded himself with the flash. "Aw, dude!" he cried out as he accidentally threw the camera overboard.

Dipper however wasn't even phased by this. "You see? This is exactly why you need backup cameras. We still have sixteen."

A seagull flew right by Mabel's head, startling her "Ah, bird!" before she threw a camera to try and scare it away.

Dipper was now starting to be a bit concerned. "Fifteen! Okay, guys, I repeat; don't lose your cameras!"

"Wait, lose the cameras?" Soos asked him.

"Don't!" Dipper corrected with his voice raised.

Soos however thumbed over his shoulder at two cameras in the water. "Dude, I just threw two away."

"Thirteen!" Dipper said, starting to get agitated. "All right! We still have thirteen camera-" to prove his point Dipper had smack his fist on a wooden box but quickly realized he accidentally crushed one of their remaining cameras. "Twelve. We have twelve cameras."

Now he was starting to worry.

"So what's the plan?" Mabel asked as she held her bag of cameras and one in her other hand ready to drop over the side of the boat. "Throw more cameras overboard or what?"

"NO!" Dipper cried in panic. He took a second to calm down. "No. Okay. You'll be lookout, Soos can work the steering wheel, and I'll be captain."

"What?" Mabel asked, setting her cameras down safely on the deck. "Why do you get to be captain? What about Mabel, huh?" she then started chanting, "Ma-bel! Ma-bel! Ma-bel! Ma-bel!

Dipper frowned, "I'm not sure that's a good idea."

"What about co-captain?" Mabel asked as a compromise.

"There's no such thing as co-captain" Dipper corrected her.

"Aw, whoops," Mabel said as she casually tosses a camera into the water.

Dipper realized he was caught in a hard place. "Okay, fine! You can be co-captain."

"Can I be associate co-captain?" Soos asked, stepping up.

Mabel grinned, "as co-captain, I authorize that request."

Dipper sighed but allowed it to move forward with his plan. "Well, as first co-captain, our number one order of business is to lure the monster out with this." He gestures at an open barrel labeled 'Fish Food'.

Soos, who was next to the barrel then asked them "permission to taste some?"

Dipper didn't expect this but wanted to see where this would go. "Granted."

"Permission co-granted," Mabel added with a grin.

Soos raised his hands and added, "permission associate co-granted." He then took a chuck of the fish food out and licked it. Almost instantly Soos gagged and spat out what he tasted, dropping the fish food and started to scrape off his tongue. "Dude, I don't know what I expected that to taste like."

Dipper and Mabel just laugh hysterically at the whole thing. Even if unintentional their spirits were raised as they went back to hunting the monster.

Soon the S.S. Cool Dude was driving through the fog closer to Scuttlebutt Island. They were moving slowly through the fog to avoid any of the fallen trees and few remains of wrecked boats around the island. Soos took time to scatter bits of bait with a scoop. Dipper was squinting through the fog to see while Mabel was playing with a live pelican that was sitting on the guard railing next to her. The bird didn't move as Mable used her hand to move the bottom of its beak like a ventriloquist dummy. "Hey! How's it going?" Mabel asked aloud before she moved the beak to have the bird 'answer', "It's going awesome! Bow bow, buh bow bow!"

Dipper turned and gave his sister a look, "Mabel, leave that thing alone."

"Aw, I don't mind none!" Mabel had the pelican 'say'. She then reached out and grabbed a glass cup. "Hey, look, I'm drinking water," she said cheerfully before she started to try while having the pelican 'speak'. "Twinkle, twinkle little..." only to stop as she choked. She coughed to clear her airways as the pelican finally flew away.

Dipper gave his sister an annoyed look. "Aren't you supposed to be doing lookout?"

Before she could answer, the boat jolts to a sudden stop as it crashed into the shore of the island. Mabel grinned, "We're here! I'm a lookout genius! Hamster ball, here we come!"

The three disembark and venture up the beach towards the foggy woods. Dipper leads the group while carrying a lantern. With the light of the lantern, they were able to find a large dirt trail leading deeper into the forest. They soon come to a large sign nailed to a tree that says 'Scuttlebutt Island.' Soos and Mabel stop in front of it. "Dude, check it out," he said before he covers the 'Scuttle' part of the sign with his arm. "Butt Island."

Mabel laughed, "Soos, you rapscallion!"

Before she can ask why Dipper wasn't laughing, they all heard a strange sound. It sounded like a growl mixed with banging wood. "Dude, did you guys hear that?" Soos asked, making sure to stay close to the kids to protect them.

"What was that?" Mabel asked before turning to Soos "Was it your stomach?"
Soos however shook his head, "Nah, my stomach normally sounds like whale noises."

Mabel pressed her ear to Soos's stomach and to her amazement it did sound like whale noises. "Wow," she whispered in awe. "So majestic."

"Guys focus," Dipper said to calm them down. "We're on the right track. Now let's go get that monster."

"Yea!" Soos and Mabel cheered before they followed after the boy.

They continued on their way, not knowing how much time is passing by. So to keep themselves busy, Mabel was doing some improvised rapping while Soos was doing some beatboxing for her.
"My name is Mabel! It rhymes with table! It also rhymes with label! It also rhymes with...shmabel!"

Soos stop his beatboxing and told her, "Dude, we should be writing this down."

Dipper paused and grabbed one of his cameras. "Guys, guys, guys! You hear something?

It was the same noise as before only this time louder. Loud enough to have a flock of birds flies overhead, away from the sound.

The twins were getting excited, hitting each other in the shoulder and whispering excitedly. Soos was started to get concerned and decided to arm himself with a long stick with the end already curved into a point. He saw several of these sticks during their walk through the woods, but he didn't pay them much mind.

They walked forward before Soos, who moved to the front to protect them twins if he needed to protect them, held his arms out and forced them to stop. They saw the edge of the water through the fog and they also saw the dark shadow that gave the silhouette of what they could only assume was the Gobblewonker. They quickly ducked behind a fallen log and peeked over the side. "Everyone, get your cameras ready," Dipper said as he saw it didn't notice them yet.

Soos held his and gave a thumbs up while Mabel primed the flash of her with eyes growing wide with excitement. "Ready?" Dipper asked after a moment before giving the signal. "Go!"

Soos yelled as he jumped over the log, camera flashing as he took random pictures ahead while the twins came right behind him. as they neared the water's edge the shadow became clearing to show it wasn't a monster but the remains of a wrecked boat that was covered in beavers.

The three stared, Soos taking some nice pictures of the beavers. Dipper held his head in confusion. "But... but what was that noise, then? I heard a monster noise."

They paused when they heard that noise again, coming from the tree line. They slowly sneaked to the trees and peeked through the bushed. The fog lifted slightly to see a few kids, one lanky bow with curly brown hair, one tan skin bow wearing a blue hoody, and a hyper-looking girl wearing overalls and had her messy green hair in pigtails. "Stupid rusty chainsaw," the hoody-wearing boy said as he pulled the cord of said chainsaw. "Why can't we get real tools!?"

"So we don't hurt ourselves," the girl offered. "Plus it makes a cool monster noise when it starts."

True to her word the chainsaw started for a few seconds, making the same noise as before only to stop and die. "Damnit!" the first boy cursed as he tried again.

"I doubt that man holding us here cares about our safety," the second boy corrected. "it's most likely so we can't use it to hurt him or the stuff he's making us build."

"Well he's right to worry," the first boy said. "I would totally do that."

"Max!" the other two cried out.

Max gave them a look, "I mean to wreck the boat and stuff we are being forced to make. I ain't going to kill him…maybe."

"Oh!" the girl said excitedly with energy that could match Mabel's "We should see if we can get someone else to get it to work at camp! Why should we have all the fun?"

"I don't think that's a good idea, Nikki," the first boy said. "I think it would only make things worst."

"Shut up Neil," Max told him before he started off with the chainsaw in hand. The other two followed him towards a large area with small buildings shadowed in the fog.

Seeing that they were proven wrong, the twins walked back to the wrecked boat in dismay. "Maybe that old guy was crazy after all," Dipper said.

"He did use the word 'scrapdoodle'," said Mabel in her own disappointing agreement.

Dipper let out a sigh and sat at the water's edge, not sure what to do. Mabel sat by him in comfort while Soos left them alone to handle the situation. He took the time to see a lone beaver standing on a tree trunk and lifted his camera up. He took a picture, causing the beaver to look right at him but otherwise didn't run away or react. Soos beamed and took a few more pictures,
"ooh, yeah! Work it! Work it!" as he took more pictures the beaver move into different poses much to Soos's delight. "Nice! Nice! Gimme another one of those. Yeah, I like that one."

Dipper picked up a few rocks and started to toss them into the lake. "What're we gonna say to Grunkle Stan?" he finally asked aloud. "We ditched him over nothing. What's Graunty Eda going to say?"

"What I want to know is why didn't anyone say to the old man that whatever noises he might have heard could be from that summer camp," Mabel said, feeling just as bad.

"I didn't even know there was some kind of summer camp," Soos said as he took a break with his photo session to let the beaver rest. "I mean no one really owns this island and while we get tourists, there aren't any known summer camps in Gravity Falls."

"Then what are those kids doing here?" Mabel asked him. "It sounded like they were not alone either."

"No idea," Dipper said, not even looking up with this news. "It won't really change anything."

He stepped out onto a rock that was sticking out of the water and threw another rock hard into the lake which made a weak splash. He sighed before he felt the rock he was on shake. "Hey, guys…do you feel that?"

Suddenly the rock he was standing on sinks, Mabel and Soos quickly catching him before he fell into the lake. They saw a large hump and silhouette swimming away from them. Dipper beamed while Mabel and Soos looked stunned. "This is it!" he took a picture as it swam away. He then noticed that neither Soos nor Mabel were taking any pictures. "Come on, this is our chance," he said, turning around to look at them.

What he didn't see was the hump diving under the water but the silhouette still can be seen now swimming towards the shore. Soos and Mabel took a step back in fear.

"What's wrong with you guys?" Dipper asked, not noticing that the Gobblewonker's head and neck were rising out of the water behind him.

"Dipper…" Mabel said, worried for her brother's safety while Soos tried to get his attention, "dude…"

"It's not that hard, all right?" Dipper said as he lifts the camera to show them. "All you gotta do is point, and shoot. Like this."

He turned around to take the picture but all he saw was a dark mass and water dripping down. Dipper quickly followed up the neck to see the glowing eyes and large fang-like teeth. The Gobblewonker gave a massive roar which made Dipper drop his camera in shock. "Run!" Soos said as he and Mabel took off. Dipper quickly copied them as the Gobblewonker roared again and pulled itself easily out of the water. The Gobblewonker knocked against a tree and knocked it over with ease. Dipper saw this and realize that while it would miss him, the tree would still reach ahead and hit his sister. With a burst of speed, Dipper tackled Mabel and they rolled out of the way as the tree crashed behind them. They were able to roll onto their feet and keep running as more trees were crashing around them. They caught up to Soos who was pointing ahead. "Get back to the boat! Hurry!"

Soos glanced back to see the monster launching its head at them, jaws ready to snap at Mabel. Soos grabbed the girl and pulled her onto his back while still running. Dipper took a moment to try and take another picture with a camera. But as he took a shot, he tripped over a tree root, forcing him to drop the camera in the path of the monster and Soos to grab Dipper to make sure he didn't fall behind. "The picture!" Dipper cries as Soos kept running and the camera crushed by the monster.

"Dude, if it makes you feel any better," Soos started to say as he ran. "I got tons of pictures of those beavers, dude!"

"Why would that make me feel better!?" Dipper shouts before they all screamed as the Gobblewonker snapped at them. They broke through the tree line and into what looked like a construction zone with kids around them. They didn't have time to process this as they screamed and kept running.

(scene change)

Luz Noceda sighed as she slides the woodcarver along the plank of wood, slowly scraping small amounts off to hopefully get the perfect shape. The summer has just started and in the short time she was here, she already felt it was a nightmare that might never end. She remembered how she ended up here and if it wasn't real she would believe it was out of fanfiction or something.

She had gotten into trouble at school for her overactive imagination once again and her mother felt she needed a way to handle it. She was signed up for a 'reality camp' where she would help curve her imagination tenacities and possibly make some friends. When the bus came, she barely was able to grab her Good Witch Azula book from the trash can, before getting on. She was offered a water bottle which Luz accepted for the long trip. However less than ten minutes after drinking some, she felt tired for some reason and before she knew it, she had passed out. Luz didn't know how long she was out for but when she woke up, she was sitting next to a bunch of other kids, all confused and waking up as well.

Then a large man with a large mustache and gray hair stepped out and pretty much told them all the harsh and terrible truth. The man, Mr. Campbell, had set up several different 'summer camps' across the country to gather kids for one purpose…for free labor.

This stunned everyone as Mr. Campbell didn't even hide that he had kidnapped them and forcing them to work for him. He already took all their phones and locked them away so they could make any call for help. He was so confident that he said he wouldn't put any walls up to keep them in the 'camp'. He told them that they were stuck on an island in the middle of a deep lake surrounded by fog so they couldn't just walk out. If they tried and risked the swim, they wouldn't know where the shore was and even if they did manage to make it to shore, they still don't know where they are to find a way home.

And the worst part was that he was right, the first night a few kids slipped out in the middle of the night and found that there were not only on a small island but the fog kept them from even trying to know where to swim to escape. The only known boat that the camp knew of was owned by Campbell and used by the cook/groundskeepers dubbed simply Quarter Master, to get supplies and food for them. And they were miserable with being forced to work in the first of many projects Campbell had hinted out, given bland and nearly tasteless meals forced to sleep in small broken down cabins for both boys and girls.

That was a few days ago and Luz knew it wasn't going to end anytime soon, even more, if she will ever see her mother again. She barely noticed when Campbell walked over to inspect their work. "We're behind schedule people," he told them. "This front porch should be halfway done by now."

"Maybe if you didn't use slave labor from 'children'," Max told him as he stressed out the last word. "Then you might have it nearly done."

Campbell scoffed, "and deal with workers that want to be paid. Not gonna happen on my watch. Now pick it up or I will be forced to have you ration your meals."

The kids groaned before they stopped when they heard a loud roar coming from the forest. They looked around, concerned with what they just heard. Max raised a brow to his female friend, "Nikki, are you trying to get the chainsaw to work?"

"Wasn't me," Nikki denied, pointing to the lone rusty chainsaw sitting away from them. "See? It's right there."

They heard the roar again as well as the sound of trees falling down and crashing. Campbell was about to order everyone back to work when a man with two children broke through the tree line, screaming their heads off. Seconds later a large monster knocked over a tree and roared as it gave chase. Everyone else screamed before dropping whatever they were holding and ran as fast as they can. Luz gapped, barely registering what was happening until the man nearly ran her over. She screamed in shock but the man not only kept his stride but manage to catch her and flopped her over her shoulder to keep her from falling. "Hijo de puta! What is that?" Luz yelled while also cursing in Spanish.

"Language!" the man chided. "But dudes we need to get back to the boat."

"Don't let me stop you!" Luz added, yelping along with Mabel as the monster snapped its jaws at him.

Thankfully it didn't take long to each the boat where Soos tossed everyone inside and jumped in. The sudden shift of weight allowed the boat to get back into the water. "Let's get outta here, dudes!" Soos said as he got to the wheel and reversed the ship.

As they went back into the lake the Gobblewonker broke the tree line with a roar and quickly jumped into the water and kept up the chase. Luz manages to grab and put on one of the life jackets on the boat before looking over the side to see the Gobblewonker still following them. "Must go faster! Go faster por favor!"

Dipper however was excited and pulled out another camera. "All right! This is it!" but as he held the camera up he noticed a problem. "Cracked lens?! Soos! Get a photo!"

Soos was in the front of the ship trying to show the Gobblewonker down. However, his method was throwing the remaining cameras he had. "What are you doing!?" Dipper cried out, stunned at what he was seeing.

Soos turned back to him, "oh! I still got one left! Don't worry, dude!"

He tossed the camera to Dipper, however, it missed and broke on the wall next to him. The Gobblewonker lunged at them, missing the boat but making rough waves that rocked the S.S. Cool Dudes. Soos ran back to the wheel and manage to control the boat, turning it around while putting on more speed. The Gobblewonker kept up the chase even as they moved around the island to try and lose it. Luz manages to hand onto the guard rail to keep her balance before she notices something up ahead. "Look out!" she shouts as a warning.

Dipper heard her and looked ahead to see that they were heading for the same wrecked boat they first thought was the Gobblewonker still covered in beavers. "Soos! Beavers!" he tried to warn as well but the S.S. Cool Dude rammed into it.

Luckily the old damaged boat broke away with no damage done to S.S. Cool Dude. However, this did cause the beavers to be sent into the air, some landing in the water but most in the boat. With their home attacked and the fact they were startled by the crash, they attacked the boat with their teeth as well as the group on the boat. Two landed on Dipper's hat and were biting into it. Dipper quickly threw them off of him. Luz cried out as she held a beaver at arm's length as it gnashed its teeth, wiggled, and slapped its tail. Mabel shakes her arms to get a beaver off the sleeve of her sweater. "Ah, beavers! Oh, no!" Soos said in a panic as one landed onto his face.

Soos struggled as he tried to get the animal off of him but it mostly made him stumble away from the wheel. Mabel saw this and took the wheel and turned it just in time to avoid another lunge from the Gobblewonker. Dipper struggled to pull a beaver biting into the side of the boat while Luz tried to help Soos. After a few tugs, he pulled the animal off and tossed it into the water. He looked behind them to see the Gobblewonker dove back into the water and still chasing them.

The S.S. Cool Dude drove pass several boats of people fishing before the Gobblewonker knocked and turned over several of the boats. Dipper could have sworn he saw one boat they pass was Grunkle Stan while Luz thought she saw Mr. Campbell in another boat struggling with the remaining kids from the 'camp' before it was turned over.

The Gobblewonker rose back above the water and swung its head at the S.S. Cool Dude, breaking knocking off the control cabin, and damaging the boat overall. Mabel and the others manage to duck to avoid being knocked into the water. Luz pulled herself up and saw something ahead that both stunned and baffled her. "Look out!" she gave as a warning.

Up ahead two men were in two separate boats, holding a large sheet of glass between them as they slowly made their way across the water. "Easy…easy," one man said to his partner.

But neither one could do anything as the S.S. Cool Dude crashed right through the glass without slowing down, shattering the sheet. "My glass!" one of the men cried before both their boats were knocked over by the speeding Gobblewonker.

Mabel was panicking as she saw the path they had taken to avoid the monster was leading to a large waterfall on a cliff that fed the lake. "Where do I go?!" Mabel asked in panic.

Dipper quickly got out the Journal and flipped through the pages. Luz wasn't sure what he was looking for before he answered. "Um…uh…go into the falls! I think there might be a cave behind there!"

"Might be!?" Mabel asked in the same panic as before if not more.

"We don't have a choice," Luz pointed out as the Gobblewonker got closer. "Full speed ahead!"

Even Dipper wasn't as confidant of this plan as they all screamed and closed their eyes, waiting for the impact. It never came as behind the waterfall was indeed a cave. They barely had time to notice as the boat traveled into a small lagoon before it crashed into the beach inside the cave and sent them flying off. They manage to get to their feet and saw they were unharmed, though Soos lost both his shirt and life jacket from the fight with the beaver and all the action that had just happen. They didn't have time to rest as they saw the Gobblewonker was coming through the cave and roared at them. They all screamed, closed their eyes, and held onto each other. But seconds have passed and nothing happened. They open their eyes to see the Gobblewonker was sticking halfway out of the cave, his large body stuck in the entrance. It struggled and trashed as it tried to free itself. "It's stuck," Mabel said in amazement.

"Whoa," Luz said, amazed at the monster now that they were a safe distance and no longer being chased.

"Ha-ha! Yeah!" Dipper cheered before he realized it. "Wait...It's stuck?"

Dipper ran up a small cliff/hill inside the cave to get a good view of the whole Gobblewonker as it still struggled. He searched his vest for a camera, only to slightly panic when he couldn't find any. Mabel reached up and pulled up his hat to reveal the last camera with a small "boop".

Dipper grinned before he started to take pictures of the Gobblewonker. "That is actually kind of a smart place to put it," Luz said to Mabel.

"Thanks, but it was Dipper's idea," Mabel said before looking at Luz. "Sorry, you kinda got dragged along with us…?"

"Luz," the girl introduced herself. "Luz Noceda. And if anything, I should be thanking you guys for rescuing me from that prison camp and keeping me from being run over by this thing." She turned to Soos. "Gracias mi amigo."

"De nada" Soos responded in kind. "I'm Soos, that's Mabel and her twin Dipper. We were on a monster hunt for the Gobblewonker for a photo contest."

"Well, I think you got it," Luz said as the Gobblewonker tried to snap at them, making them jump but its neck was too short to reach them. "Did you get any good ones?"

"They're all good ones!" Dipper cheered as he hugged Mabel.

Mabel jumped and cheered with her brother, "Woo! Hamster ball!"

As they celebrated the Gobblewonker still struggled, causing the cave to shake. A piece of rock fell from the roof and smashed right into the Gobblewonker's head. When it landed they heard a loud 'Clang' of metal and saw sparks flying around the head as well as hear a whine of a machine slowly dying. The head collapsed into the pool below and everyone stared. "What the...?" Dipper asked before he jumped down and hopped onto one of the fins and pressed a hand to the side of the Gobblewonker. "Huh?"

"What's wrong?" Mabel asked as Dipper knocks on the side and hears a hollow metallic sound.

Dipper climbs up the side of the monster until he was on the back, searching for something. "Careful, dude!" Soos called out to him.

"I've got this, hold on," Dipper replied.

They waited, slightly concerned with Luz ready to jump down to help him. "Hey, guys!" Dipper called out from over the top of the Gobblewonker and waved to them. "Come check this out!"

They followed after him to see he found a wheel lock on the side of the monster. They were surprised to see that there before Dipper turned the wheel. A bit of steam popped up from a trap door before they open it up. More steam blocked their vision as they coughed and waved it away. They peeked inside to see an advanced robotic system with someone driving and controlling the whole thing. And to the group's amazement, the driver was none other than…

"Aww, banjo polish," muttered Old Man McGucket.

Dipper was flabbergasted, "Wha- Yo- You?! You made this? W-w-why?"

Old Man McGucket actually looked embarrassed by this. "Well, I... I, uh...I just wanted attention."

"Well, you certainly got it," Luz couldn't help but admit.

"I still don't understand," Dipper said in confusion.

Old man McGucket misunderstood what he meant by that. "Well, first I just hootenannied up a biomechanical brain wave generator, and then I learned to operate a stick-shift with ma beard!

"That is so cool," Luz couldn't help but be amazed by this.

"Okay, yeah," Mabel offered before clarifying. "But why did you do it?"

Old Man McGucket took off his hand and rubbed his bald head as he explained. "Well, when you get to be an old fella like me, nobody pays any attention to you anymore. My own son hasn't visited me in months." He recalled the times he tried to get his son's attention or try to spend time with him only to be ignored. "So, I figured maybe I'd catch his fancy with a fifteen-ton aquatic robut!" he laughed like a maniac like he did in his flashbacks before he stopped and sighed. "In retrospect, it seems a bit contrived. You just don't know the length us old-timers go through for a little quality time with our family."

Dipper and Mabel each took out the fishing hats Grunkle Stan made for them, feeling terrible since they had abandoned him when he wanted to be with family. Luz's gaze went to the ground, wondering about her mother and how worried she must be for not even messaging her. The twins sighed, seeing what they did wrong. Next to them, Soos said, "Dude, I guess the real lake monster is you two. Heh, heh!" he noticed the looks he got and added, "sorry, that just like-boom-just popped into my head there."

Luz offered him a smile, "I've only known you for a short time Soos, but I can tell you are a wise man."

"Thanks, dude," he said with a grin and thumbs up.

Luz turned to Old Man McGucket, "So, did you ever talk to your son about how you felt?"

The hillbilly shook his head. "No, sir, I got to work straight on the robut." He pressed a switch and next to him a projector flipped out and showed a light on the back of the trapdoor, showing blueprints for the Gobblewonker. "I made lots of robuts in my day," he said as he pressed a button to flip through some slides. "Like when my wife left me and I created a homicidal pterodactyl-tron, or when my pal Ernie didn't come to my retirement party and I constructed an eighty-ton SHAME BOT THAT EXPLODED THE ENTIRE DOWNTOWN AREA!"

He laughed like a maniac as he showed slides of newspaper articles of a robot pterodactyl breathing fire on a town and the word 'chaos' as the headline, a picture of a normal-looking man and another newspaper article with a large robot terrorizing a town and the word 'disaster' as the headline. The others looked concerned before Old Man McGucket stopped his laugh suddenly. "Well, time to get back to work on my death ray!" he ducks back into the robotic Gobblewonker, and construction noises can be heard from inside. They stopped when McGucket raises his hand in a grabbing motion. "Any of you kids got a screwdriver?"

The four decided to leave the crazy old man alone, walking back to the remains of Soos's boat. Dipper looked at the camera in his hands. "Well, so much for the photo contest."

Mabel offered a small smile, "you still have one roll of film left."

"What do you wanna do with it?" Dipper asked them, his twin smiling as they both got the same idea.

(scene change)

Stan sighed as he drove his boat back towards the soar. He looked defeated and overall miserable. He blinked he heard Dipper call out, "Hey! Over here!"

He looked over to see his niece and nephew along with Soos and a girl he has never seen before riding on the remains of the S.S. Cool Dude which was a shadow of its former glory and barely keeping afloat. When Soos stopped his boat next to Stan, Dipper flashed his camera at his Grunkle. "What the- Kids? I thought you two were off playing "Spin the Bottle" with Soos. And who's this?"

Luz smiled at him, "hey Mr. Pines. I'm Luz, your family really saved me and are my friends now. They are kinda awesome."

Stan raised a brow before he chuckled, "of course they are, they're my family." He then shook his head as he remembered he was supposed to be mad at them.

Dipper looked embarrassed and rubbed his arm. "Well, we spent all day trying to find a 'legendary' dinosaur."

Mabel then added, "but we realized, the only dinosaur we wanna hang out with is right here."

She held her arms out to motion to Stan. Stan scowled and waved them off, "Save your sympathy! I've been having a great time without yea." He crossed his arms in denial. "Makin' friends, talkin' to my reflection… I almost had a run-in with the lake police. But then they found a guy with a boat overflowing with kids fighting and it turns out they were kidnapped or something. Sounds like a big mess for them."

Luz blinked in surprise hearing this, "oh. What happened to them?"

Stan shrugged, "the sheriff called backup and a bunch of cops arrived and arrested the screaming idiot. He wouldn't shut up. I think I heard Blubs say they will contact the state police or the FBI to get those kids home." He blinked as he connected the dots. "So you…?"

Luz gave a sheepish smile, "yeah…I was kinda one of them until these guys ran into me and help me get out of there. It was a crazy adventure let me tell you."

"Sounds like it can be a good fishing story," Stan admitted, with part of him wanting to know more.

Dipper finally said, "so... I guess there isn't room in that boat for four more."

Stan just glares at them, only for Dipper and Mabel to put on their new fishing hats he made them on to show they mean it.

Stan's expression softens before he asks, "you knuckleheads ever seen me thread a hook with my eyes closed?"

Dipper grinned "five bucks says you can't do it!"

"You're on!" agrees Stan with a matching grin,

Dipper jumps into the boat as Mabel adds, "five more bucks says you can't do it with your eyes closed, plus me singing at the top of my lungs!

Stan laughs, "I like those odds!" he then noticed Luz, blushing and not sure if she can even join them. Stan rolled his eyes and waved at her. "Get in already kid, you own us a fishing story remember?"

Luz gave a small squeal before she climbed in with Soos behind her. Stan blinked as he noticed all Soos was wearing on his top half was a small lifejacket. "Whoa, what happened to your shirt?

"It's part of Luz's story dude," Soos said thumbing to the blushing girl.

Dipper shifted so he was at one end of the boat, "all right, everybody get together. Say fishing!"

Stan leaned over and smiled while Mabel held her hand up to make half a heart towards Luz. Luz smiled widely before she finished the heart while Soos stood next to them. "Fishing!" called out Mabel, Luz, and Stan together.

Soos however had another question, "Dude, am I in the frame?"

It turns out Soos was barely in the picture with only his belly showing. The rest of the day was spent with the Pines family plus two enjoying themselves during the fishing trip. Stan tried to win his bet against Dipper only to have him peeking while Mabel climbed on his back and trying to cover his eyes. Dipper managed to take a picture of this moment.

Stan kept the joke book he showed to the twins earlier and took time to read several of the jokes inside. Mabel and Soos seem to enjoy the jokes and laughed while Dipper looked both bored and annoyed but did nothing to stop his uncle. Luz laughed at the cheesiness of the whole thing and took a picture of the family together.

As Stan promised, he took time to teach not only Dipper and Mabel how to fish properly but Luz as well who has never gone fishing before. The man was patient with them in teaching proper form, when the best time to reel the line in or to hold the line steady or to let the line run out to tire the fish. To Dipper's amazement, the tricks worked as he caught his first ever fish, a decent size bass. Mabel was proud of her brother and took a picture of his amazed face and prize. She also took a moment to take a picture of Stan next to Luz as he taught her how to tell if a fish was interested.

They also had some fun with the camera as they took turns making funny poses. Stan stood at the bow of the boat, one foot on the railing and one hand in his vest as he took a captain's pose with a grin. Soos held a fish next to his head while making his own fishy-like faces. Mabel and Luz made cat-like poses for a picture which helped with Luz's cat hoody. Dipper and Soos pretended to be arm wrestling and faking that Soos was trying hard yet losing. Stan enjoyed the one where Luz and Dipper crossed fishing poles like they were swords while Mabel laid beneath them with a tongue out to play dead. All in all, everyone was having fun as the sun started to set behind the tree line. Stan drove the boat back to shore so they can pack up for home while giving Luz more details of the Shack. Since Luz didn't have anywhere to go nor did she have a way to connect with her mother, they decided she can sleep with the twins and rest up before calling her mother and going from there. Luz was amazed that Stan was willing to let her stay but he denied any motion of him liking the fact she had become friends with the twins. Which leads to details about Eda.

"You're married to a Witch!?" Luz cried out in amazement.

Stan shrugged, "yeah I know it's a surprise but she's a real witch and can do magic."

"Is this supposed to be a secret?" Dipper asked since Luz did reveal it loudly as they near the docks.

Again Stan shrugged, "it's barely a secret. We don't advertise she is a witch to tourists and the town but most of the people in town know we're married and that she possibly had magic. We even have friends in town that know more details on the secret but it doesn't really matter to us. It's not like they can do anything about it."

"This is so cool," Luz said as she shook in her seat. "A real witch, like in the Good Witch Azura. Do you think she can teach us magic?"

"That's up to her," Stan stated simply. "If you're lucky you can impress her enough you might be able to convince her. Either way, you will be working with either Eda or at the Shack since you will be staying here for a bit. You can work with the twins."

"Aren't you a fan of the Good Witch Azura series?" Mabel asked her brother who blushed at being called out.

"You too?" Luz asked, sliding next to Dipper. "I finally have a friend to talk about the series and the fan theories. What is your take on the Dark Lord Xana being Azura's father?"

Dipper was taken aback by the question, but it didn't take long for him to give his response. "I have several theories and factors that both support and rejects the theory. I always wanted to go into details to someone instead of just online."

Then the boat jumped slightly as if they bumped something. "What was that?" Dipper asked but the others weren't sure. Dipper went back to his discussion on his theory with Luz.

No one noticed Stan glancing behind them as they drove by, seeing a shadow beneath the waves before diving deeper and out of sight. He had a feeling there was a real lake monster but knew the thing was more interested in fish than people and the most it ever did was rock boats and playfully hides afterward. Since it never hurt anyone and Eda wasn't too concerned he decided to leave it be and not let the kids know how close they were to finding the real Gobblewonker.

So how was that? I will admit it took a while since this is actually the first time I did a chapter of the Gobblewonker. But while it is a first for me, there is still a lot to unpack in this chapter. We now have Luz as a part of the main cast and now this is where the fun begins. I figured since Eda would be getting her human junk from Gravity Falls, she would be sending Owlbert on fewer side quests, so Luz never had to chase him. But the camp she was sent to is not what she nor her mother expected. While this means we are pretty much scrapping whatever shocking horrors the cannon show has with the fake Luz, we still have plenty to do and more of the relationship between Luz and her mother. But full speed ahead and don't expect some things to stay the same.

Next Time: Eda takes Dipper, Mabel, and their new friend Luz to the Boiling Isles and for the first time see the Owl House. They meet King and Hooty and some of the surprises that the Boiling Isles has to offer. The trio of friends meet a group of strangers and are invited to go with them on a quest. But like everything on the Boiling Isles: they are more than meets the eyes.
