IT'S TIME FOR VOLUME 2

CHAPTER 15

Jonathan and Amelia were watching the news while Sini was in her room working on mechashift designs and Violette was doing her homework. The house felt so empty since Jaune left for Beacon and Iris and Nila moved to Vale. They knew this was bound to happen but they had lived such a hectic lifestyle for so long that peace felt wrong.

"Hey, John?" Amelia asked.

"Yes, dear?" Jonathan looked towards his wife.

"Don't you think the house is a little too empty?" Amelia smirked.

"Now that you mention it I do." Jonathan leaned towards his wife before the front door burst open causing them to jump. A frantic Taiyang stood there.

"John, Amelia! I'm not interrupting anything am I?" He looked around. "Nope! I need you to watch this!" Tai hopped over the couch and sat next to them pulling out his scroll and starting a video. Jaune and Ruby were going away from their group of friends.

"Why are the police there?" Amelia asked.

"Questions for later keep watching." Tai waved her question aside.

"...You are also willing to go out of your way to see the best in people, your smile is amazing, your laugh is beautiful, you've always been there for me like when you designed my weapon or when we fought the deathstalker. I could continue this for hours, tell you that every little thing you do brings me joy but instead I'll just ask one thing. Will you go..."

"YES!" Ruby interrupted Jaune with a hug.

"COME ON JUST KISS!" Both the voice of Yang and Amelia said. The video stops as Jaune and Ruby look Yangs' way. The parents just sat there before busting out in laughter.

"Well good news they didn't catch her else we wouldn't have seen it." Jonathan chuckled.

"I'm still worried about what happened beforehand," Amelia said.

"Do you think Oz and Glynda would allow one of us to chaperone the second-semester dance?" Tai asked.

"That would be fun. I could get so many pictures." Amelia said with stars in her eyes.

Teams PYSL and ABVR sat in the lunchroom eating breakfast. They had one more day before school started up for the second semester. Jaune was absentmindedly sketching a new design for his weapon while Blake was chatting with Nora over something about Ren. Yang was explaining her plan to teach Weiss not all Faunus's were bad. Ren was reading a book on weapon modifications and Pyrrha was eating while keeping a few coins spinning around her. Ruby walks up and slams a binder on the table.

"Uh, Ruby? What's up with the binder?" Jaune looks up to see her smiling.

"Glad you asked Jaune as Vice-Team Leader I decided it's time we did some team bonding!" Ruby proudly proclaimed.

"Who made you Vice-Team Leader?" Nora asked.

"I am Jaunes partner and since he's a team leader that makes me Vice-Team Leader." Ruby declares confidence in her assessment.

"Does that mean I'm Vice-Team Leader?" Ren asks Pyrrha.

"You are if you want to be." Pyrrha nods.

"See Ren gets it! So I thought we'd start with a little light conversation followed by sparing the weapon maintenance..." Ruby starts rambling on.

'She looks so amazing with that smile.' Jaune thinks to himself. 'I will do whatever it takes to make sure you never lose it, Ruby.' He vows to himself.

"... and finally movie night and cuddles with Jaune." Ruby shut the binder.

"Wait what?" Jaune being brought back to reality with the slamming of said binder looked confused.

Sun was stunned as all of Team ABVR were pushed out the cafeteria door. He had brought Neptune to meet them but it seems they came to meet him.

"Hey what's up guys and gals?" Sun smirked. "Where's the fire?"

"Hey, Sun. No fire just team building." Jaune replied.

"Cool, cool. Well, I was just stopping by to introduce you guys to my partner Neptune since we finally moved to the dorms." Sun waved to the blue-haired boy beside him.

"Why hello there little re…" Sun slapped Neptune's head.

"NO! That one is off-limits. I've seen what Jaune can do with his ax you'd be lucky to escape with all your parts intact!" Sun yelled at his friend. "Sorry man Neptune thinks of himself as a ladies man."

"No need to apologize to me just be glad her sister wasn't here." Jaune waved him off and went up to Neptune. He held out his hand and when Neptune took it He squeezed. "Hey, Man names Jaune Arc I'm Ruby's boyfriend. Go shoot your shot with any of the others."

"Duly noted man." Neptune rubbed his hand afterward. "Names Neptune Vasilias the N in Team SSSN(Sun)."

"You got to be kidding me," Blake said.

"Yeah, Leonheart isn't the best at names." Sun sighed.

"It's better than LLLL. I still feel bad for them." Neptune jokes.

"How do you like Beacon so far?" Ruby asked.

"Well, I rather like the castle design. I don't care for how close it is to the water," Neptune said.

"Dude you really got to get over that fear." Sun moaned.

"It's not a fear, I just respect it enough to not mess with it." Neptune defended himself. They all chuckled at how forced that sounded.

"Well it was nice meeting you but unless you have pancakes we really should be going," Nora says.

"Well, I do know a nice pancake place in Vale ma…" Neptune isn't able to finish as Nora grabs him and drags him away.

"Oof, I do not envy him." Jaune cringes at the amount of Lien that Neptune is about to lose.

"What do you mean?" Sun asks.

"Well, you see Nora is kind of obsessed with pancakes and will eat them all day if no one stops her," Ruby explains. Sun's eyes widen as he catches on.

"Nice seeing you all but I have to go save my partner." Sun rushes on after them.

"So Blake care to explain what just happened," Jaune asks.

"I may or may not have told her to try and make Ren jealous if she wants him to notice her." Blake shrugs.

In a warehouse on the edge of town Roman was directing the white fang as they unloaded their ships. Ever since the botched shipment, they have been bouncing around warehouses to make sure no one found them. Two teenagers walked over to him with smirks.

"Oh great, she sent the kids. It's ending up just like the divorce." Roman slung his arms over the two and with a quick check found a piece of paper.

"Ugh please spare us the thought of you procreating." The girl gaged.

"I'll have you know I would be a perfect father. I basically raised poor Neo, and this just might tell me where you two have been all day." He held up the paper.

"How?" The girl asked.

"I'm a professional sweetheart." He glances at the paper. "Pray tell me why were you looking for this address?" His eyes hardened.

"Wouldn't you like to know." the girl said smugly.

"I would now where were you today?" Roman Gripped his cane.

"Cleaning up your problems, one of them at least." The boy jabbed his finger in Roman's face.

"My assistant was going to deal with that tonight in the dark like a professional." Roman brought his cane up and stuck the boy across the face. "But no, some uppity brats decide to walk straight in. IN BROAD DAYLIGHT! If I were in charge I'd get rid of you two for such foolish behavior." Roman took a deep breath and sent a message to Neo to go clean up the scene if the cops weren't already there.

"But you aren't." A seductive voice said. Cinder walked to the elevator. "Are you all done throwing a fit Roman?"

"I get that but I had this all planned out," Roman stated.

"He could have left today so Mercury and I took it on ourselves to deal with him." The girl pridefully said.

"I told you to keep out of trouble Emerald." Cinder said. She walked up to Roman.

"If you ever strike my associates again, well that runaway's fate will look like mercy compared to yours." Roman gulped.

"So are you going to tell me what the master plan is?" Roman asked. "Because one wrong sneeze and we'll take out half the town with the amount of dust we have here." Roman waved his arms.

"You'll know when you need to know. Now get ready to pack up we're moving to phase two." Cinder smirked and left with Mercury and Emerald.

"Son of a Grimm." Roman spat. "Alright, you heard the boss lady. Pack it up and warm up the engines and Perry stops antagonizing Banesaw."

Jaune held Ruby close as they finished Orange vs Teal season 13. Ruby was crying at Temple's final speech. Jaune himself found it rather somber as what he said about heroes stuck home with him. He knew that fate was always a possibility.

"Jaune?" Ruby looked at him.

"Yeah?" Jaune asked.

"Temple was a hero. But I feel so bad for Lurker and Engine." She rubbed the tears from her eyes.

"Same. This was the perfect yet somber end to the series." He chuckled.

"Do you think we'll have to make that choice?" Ruby asked.

"Maybe. Let's not think about that though." Jaune smiled. "Today's been great. Let's not ruin all the hard work you did by thinking about death." He squeezed her in a comforting hug.

"You know…" Ruby yawns. "I might just fall asleep." She snuggles in closer. "Your bed *yawn* is rather *yawn* comfy...zzzzz"

"Good night." Jaune closes his eyes and drifts off.

Char wondered if his and Amuro's work had amounted to anything. He knew as Full Frontal he had found the really Universal Century Charter but he would never know if the federation would honor it.

"I'll do everything I can to make sure you live to see whatever change you bring to this world Jaune." He vowed.

"This is Atlesian Flagship-636 requesting permission to land on Beacon dock 3."

"Permission granted. Welcome and enjoy your stay General Ironwood."
