Chapter Thirty Four: The Viridian Gym
The frozen surface stood strong against the burning fire of the draconic warrior. The metallic monster born from hatred stared her down, a smirk widening on her face as she looked at her.
"You truly don't understand my power," The metallic monster laughed, standing opposed to the flaming warrior. The very world shuddered in anticipation, knowing what it was to do about that power. It was a truly demonic sort of fight, strength in spades. Those far away could feel the tension in the air as the frozen world looked at them.
"I will destroy this entire world to prove my point. I will make sure you shall never come to bring me lack of sleep again."
The collision shook the world below them, shattering it as it detonated in a burning fire.
In his tent, the great Elder awoke with a start. He looked over to the visitors that had been found unconscious and brought to him. Sweat poured down his face. It had been a long time since he'd seen a vision of the future. This would probably be the last one before he died. The world would be faced with its greatest threat and he could see the fate of one of the two.
Was it because she was so close in proximity to him right now? Her power was beginning to pour out in a smoke as her tail let loose a few sparks of fire that slowly burned. It was faint, but it was there. Her will to fight was slowly becoming visible once again. Soon, she might become a warrior.
He sighed as he watched them. He could see into her mind. A fractured, tormented mind, but still there. Resisting her power had broken her, splintered off her consciousness and memory in order to keep such power from overwhelming her. She knew what it would bring.
Karra peered in, obviously aware of his disturbance. She seemed to understand what was troubling him.
"I do not trust either of them."
"Karra, you must be cautious of what you say. But, I do understand. I cannot communicate with the goddesses. I have been trying for years, but nothing has come. It used to be so easy."
"It didn't help that the other immortal has passed."
"Turo was my greatest friend, Karra. I had spent long days with her in the days since our cursing. But, it appears that my time might be up soon. My purpose is to be fulfilled soon and my body is already weakening in anticipation."
Karra stared at her Elder for a long second. She knew him when he was a powerful fighter, strong and proud, able to train and teach Moémon ten times his strength principles of peace and fighting. But, she knew he was fading fast.
"Be a dear and bring me a glass of water," The Elder glanced at her, coughing once. "I'm becoming quite thirsty."
"You need to rest. Stop trying to care for these wounded enemies."
"They are not enemies, Karra. You must learn that."
"I don't trust either of them. How do we know they're on our side?"
"I can sense the destiny of one. I feel she may be the legend reborn, slowly unlocking the full extent of her fulfillment. But, we must be patient."
"We don't have loads of time, Elder. Meltan will discover them sooner or later. And, then we will all die."
"I don't think we will die. At least, not you. I will die sooner or later. The goddesses tasked me with being able to prevent this threat from returning. This is something that even they fear. Such a monster must not be allowed to wreak havoc. I will not let it as long as I draw breath into these weak lungs."
"Don't be foolish, Elder. These two are dangerous."
"We must be prepared for that."
Karra left to bring her Elder his drink. The Elder touched the forehead of the orange clad one, feeling such a burning feeling he nearly withdrew his hand. But, something was telling him to keep it there.
Fractures of events played out in his own mind; a fight with a powerful monster in a volcano, a monstrous entity destroying a region.
Touching his hand to the other's, his mind became transported to another place entirely.
A sprawling city that seemed to be from another world sprawled out from before him. All seemed to be made of a shiny and silvery metal that moved as if liquid. A single building in the center rose above all the others. It stood straight up, rising high as it gleamed in the spatial sunlight.
There was no sky, the entire city, or even world, open to the brilliance of stars that dotted the air of space innumerably. Sprawled around the Elder, men and women that seemed to be made of liquid metal filled the streets, covering them like a sea of chrome.
All wore similar attire, silvery white in color, and long and flowing. Their hair was all blondes and silvery whites. All seemed to be moving in a uniform existence.
The Elder felt his mind be transported to a different place. There was no sky here either, though the sun was much closer. The reds and greens seemed so intense that they overpowered all other colors. People dotted the streets of this area as well, all dressed in red and green robes like a group of monks. Long, flowing hair on both males and females reached the waists of each individual.
Standing at the tallest point of the city stood a powerful warrior, dressed in red and green. A pointed crown stood atop her head, seeming to pulse with life.
"Two peoples that seem to bear much resemblance to each other," The Elder's mind thought as he was above the air, seeing the two areas, a planet of an unknown location surrounding them. Both were distinct, clearly shining in the surface and probably beneath it as well.
A single name stood out to the Elder, a name he would never have thought, nor dared utter in all his many years of immortality: Charn.
He knew what this story was, as the god of gods had told him such a story when she entrusted him with the piece of Meltan that was stolen. It was not a pretty story, one that still haunted him, as well as Meltan's true name. He should never forget it as long as he lived.
There was a silence as he sighed, hoping that the poor girl that had come to his village would be able to fulfill her destiny.
With Lillie, (Former) Team Rocket, etc.
"So, ghost, tell us what the cure to Wobuffet's poisoning is." Jessie grabbed the freezing, flaming fox by the collar. "We won't hesitate to sic Meowth on you. She's super upset about Wobuffet."
"That sniffly, easily excited cat?" Kitsu tilted her head. "Look, lady, I don't think you understand what a fighter looks like, but that one is not a fighter. She's barely even a capable Meowth. She thought she could be a trainer and failed, so what makes you think she could handle that sort of thing?"
"Meowth has more heart in one finger than you do in your entire body, ghost," James joined in, Victreebel actually getting off his head to crack her knuckles, vines sprouting all around her.
"Alright alright, fine, I know where the Revival Herb is," Kitsu raised her hands in surrender. "You defeated me, so I'll tell you."
"Then show us."
Kitsu grumbled, sighing as she reached out into the air, a strange and twisted plant sprouting from her hand. She handed it to Jessie, who looked at it.
"This is the Revival Herb," Kitsu said. "It is extremely bitter. You'll do well to make her eat it quickly. I've heard tell it's so bitter it can even make Moémon hate their trainers. That is my warning to you."
"We'll take it," Jessie took the herb, looking at it. It made her want to throw up and she wasn't even eating it.
"Let's give this to Wobuffet right away," James and Jessie ran back to the hospital where Wobuffet was, the trip taking about an hour to run. They burst into the Moécenter, running to Wobbuffet's room. Wobuffet was looking pale, sweat pouring off of her as her body fought the poison.
"Wobbuffet, look," Jessie said, leaning next to Wobuffet. "We got something for you."
The sick Moémon looked up at Jessie, muttering her name. Jessie took the herb, holding Wobuffet's nose as she placed it in her mouth. Wobuffet tried to spit it out because of the bitter taste, but to no avail. Jessie sighed, watching as Wobuffet chewed the foul tasting herb. She swallowed it, the herb having a strange effect.
The Patient Moémon began to convulse, the herb giving her the shakes as she swallowed it. Her forehead was burning hotter than before and she was sweating like crazy. A strange energy began pouring off of her, beginning to cause her to pant.
Jessie looked horrified at this, seeing her shaking and changing from the effects of the Revival Herb.
James ran in, Meowth right behind him. They looked at Wobbuffet and Meowth held Wobbuffet's hand. Wobbuffet seemed to calm down after that, her body starting to cool down. The strange Herb was not done taking its toll on her body, however, causing her to cough and gag, something coming up out of her throat.
"Wh-What is that?" Meowth asked, looking at it. It looked like a vine, plants sprouting off of it. It seemed to be taking nutrients from Wobbuffet, the blue colored Moémon taking on a slightly green shade with her blue, almost like a Grass type.
"What's happening to her?" Meowth asked.
"This plant did this to her," Jessie reached for it to try to pluck it out.
"No, don't touch it!" Kitsu rushed in, pulling her back. "It's attached to her heart! If you pull it out, you'll kill her!"
"Why did you give me something that would do this to her?!" Jessie exclaimed as Victreebel, Ekans, and Arbok emerged from their Moéballs, glaring at the defeated ghost, who looked at Wobbufet.
"Why would you give her the whole thing?" Kitsu asked. "You were supposed to grind it up and give her a small part."
"You didn't say that!" Jessie exclaimed. "You just said it might make her hate me!"
"Well, perhaps you should listen better next time." Kitsu preferred to have the upper hand in this situation.
All the Moémon that had emerged from their Moéballs attacked the ghost, Meowth growling at her as she opened Snorey's Moéball. Snorey looked at the ghost, cracking her knuckles as the ghost looked at the schoolgirl dressed Moémon.
"Y-You…" She whispered, eyes wide with fear.
"You should have told her about the curse of that plant," Snorey said. "I would have warned them if I had known."
"That plant was cursed by a vengeful guardian of the forest," Kitsu hurriedly explained. "It was cursed that anyone who eats it turns into a plant. But, I didn't think it would actually happen after all these years. This guardian was always angry at humans and hated how they had such an influence on Moémon."
"So, how do we prevent her from becoming a plant?" Jessie asked.
"You'll need a fire unlike any other," Kitsu looked down. "A mystical fire of ancient fury. But, there isn't anyone who knows of the ancient fires. I could do it if we combine my power with that of the other ghost in these woods, but she's a myth."
"I'm sure we could find someone that knows about her," Jessie said. "There's plenty of old wierdos who spew ancient mumbo jumbo."
"Jessie has a point," James said. "Sabrina might know about it. But, we'd have to make it back there."
"I am already here," Sabrina was standing behind them.
"H-How did you get here?!" Meowth pointed.
"I teleported," Sabrina looked at the feline Moémon.
"Are you even human?" Kitsu asked.
"That's none of your business," Sabrina said to the fox spirit.
"I think it is," Kitsu glared at the Psychic. "You have a strange aura about you."
"Again, it's none of your business," Sabrina said. "If you keep pushing into places you don't belong, then you'll not like what you see."
"The only thing Psychics fear are ghosts and bugs," Kitsu held fire up to her. "And, I'm one of those."
With a twitch of her finger, Sabrina sent Kitsu flying. The Psychic's hair moved backward to reveal the Rocket symbol over her eye that was covered.
"Do you truly wish to tangle with the powers that have made me?" Sabrina stepped forward. "There are three people I would advise you not to tangle with; me, Moon Aquarius, and Amber, sister of Moon Aquarius."
"You're a member of Team Rocket?" Jessie and James gasped.
"Of sorts," Sabrina glared at the fox. "I've cast that aside. The only thing I cannot cast away were the things they did. The things they did to me, to Amber, to the rest. Veronica, leader of Viridian City Gym managed to hide Amber in Cerulean Cave, but her power grows beyond what she can control fully. She may need to be stopped someday."
"Moon will bring them down, won't she?" James asked. "She will succeed?"
"I can only hope," Sabrina narrowed her eyes, looking down. "If she fails, there will be little to stop Giovanni. It will either be him or that creature plaguing my nightmares that Moon must defeat."
"I think she's got it," Meowth grinned wide. "She's super strong."
"I believe it," Sabrina nodded. "I am glad you do as well."
With Moon
Eve shot another Hyper Beam at the gooey woman, the woman opening her body up to dodge the blast, a distorted cackle coming from her mouth.
"You may be the finished product, but your powers are nothing compared to mine," The woman smirked, her body beginning to shift, her colors changing as she turned into something that looked like Moon. All looked the same, save the face. The face was a strange, twisted smile that looked completely inhuman.
"This power…" The doppelganger looked at her hands. "Wh-What is this power I feel?! What are you?!"
"Sh-She copied Moon…" Felicia stood back, for the first time, not acting like a goof. "We may have a problem."
Eve let out a shout, the sky darkening as a gigantic Thunder dropped down where the Moon doppelganger stood, scorching the grass around it. Moon had to shield her eyes as her Moémon hid behind her.
Standing in front of them was Eve, the hatchling standing in front of them, her little fists clenched as her body shifted between its normal brown attire and yellow. Her hair moved as if in a breeze. It was clear that this was different from her other transformations. Those had been cute, playful. This time, something within her was angry. It was directed at the woman who had shifted to look like her 'mother'. Rage filled her features as her survival instinct and anger overtook her, the others standing on in shock. Electricity began to crackle around her as she glared at the doppelganger, who scoffed at her anger.
"How cute. You're angry. Well, go ahead, hit me. That last Thunder was weak."
She gave one final yell, her body shifting from its brown colors to an electric yellow. Her coat turned to a yellow jacket, the ends tearing in a jagged pattern that looked like a lightning bolt. Her shirt turned yellow, stripes forming that seemed to move in a zigzag pattern. Her boots turned yellow, the white fur in them fading away as the boots clung tighter to her legs, looking more like they were built for movement. Her skirt turned yellow, gaining a lightning bolt across the front. The pants she wore beneath it gained a lightning bolt pattern around them that weaved around the legs. Her tail became a bristly mass of fur, almost like spines on a hedgehog. Her hair spiked up, electricity crackling around it and her body. It turned yellow, standing up in a jagged electric pattern. Her ears turned yellow, standing straight up like lightning rods. Her eyes turned a dangerous blue color as she stood in front of her opponent, transformed into an electric creature.
"Th-This is different," Moon even was taken aback at this. She wondered if she should intervene, but Eve made the move first.
Before anyone had time to blink, Eve had closed the gap between her and the doppelganger, her small fist colliding with the creature. The false Moon doubled over in pain, coughing up a strange pink fluid. The Team Rocket member had already fled inside, shutting the door.
"You… You little shit!" The doppelganger, in Moon's voice, shouted as she struck for Eve. The electric hatchling, however, was faster, swinging her leg around for a spin kick that knocked the gooey woman over, standing over her.
The gooey woman growled, shifting herself into someone else. This person was different, mysterious. She was dressed in a light purple dress that flowed around her knees. She had a purple shirt under the straps of the dress, Moon knowing the attire from her favorite manga series about a girl with similar powers. She had golden colored hair mixed with light purple and pink flowed down. She had striking golden eyes that peered into the souls of her victims. She was barefoot, but she hovered off the ground.
"Amber," Was the whisper on Moon's lips.
"Who's that?" Skyla asked.
"Our sister," Felicia gasped, Moon's anger taking the forefront.
"You bitch!" She shouted, lunging for the doppelganger. "How dare you take her form!?"
With a wave of her hand, the false Amber knocked the demigoddess off her feet and onto the ground.
"Do not interfere, false goddess," The false Amber spoke without moving her lips. "I will take you out next. I may not be the true clone, but I have more than enough power to kill you all."
"You sick monsters kidnapped and tortured her!" Moon shouted. "You'll pay for this all!"
"She was the pawn in our experiments," The gooey woman pointed. "You would have followed suit had those kimono clad fools not intervened. They managed to save one child, but not the other. With the DNA of Mew that we received, I, this child, and Amber were brought to our true selves, along with a few others."
"You won't get away with this!" Moon's tears began to stream down her cheeks. "I won't let you hurt her anymore!"
"You've no choice," The false Amber squeezed her hand, Moon gasping as she felt her breath short, unable to draw much in. "Now, die."
The sky began to darken further, a burst of energy that was as black as space shot straight into the chest of the false Amber. It pierced her, allowing Moon her breath back as she glared, looking at Eve.
Eve's body shifted, becoming wispier, almost like a shadow. Her skin seemed to become almost like a shadow, shifting as her clothes turned black, displaying a strange feeling. Yellow rings shown on her jacket, glowing like a predator's distraction. Her eyes turned a dangerous red color, her ears becoming all black. Two yellow rings popped up on each, wrapping around and standing out against the black that was encompassing Eve. The yellow sparking hair turned a black color, seeming to settle slightly as it gained a wispy air, like that of a shadow. Eve lunged forward, tail smoothed over, a yellow ring wrapping itself around this as well.
A powerful ethereal set of jaws clamping down on the false Amber as the gooey woman tried to use her Psychic powers on Eve, but to no avail. Eve's Dark typing was neutralizing anything she was trying to do. Eve pulled back, the gooey woman screaming in pain as her body was ravaged by the Dark energy.
Eve's fists buried themselves in the woman's stomach, not penetrating the flesh as a powerful pulse of Dark energy shot the woman backward, slamming her into the trees behind them. There was no movement after that.
Moon took this opportunity to pick Eve up, the hatchling calming down as she felt Moon's touch. She began shuddering, shivering as Moon held her, the change she had undergone removing itself and leaving her in her Normal state.
"Wh-What just happened?" Shadow asked, shocked at the display.
"It would seem as if they tried to make something they shouldn't have." Moon growled. "We're going to stop this."
"And, what if they have something that strong?" Shadow asked.
"Then, we fight," Moon walked up to the door. With a push of her own powers, the doors flew off their hinges as the team walked inside.
"Giovanni!" Moon demanded in challenge. "Ariana! Come out! Show yourselves!"
"It would seem as if you have managed to defeat our experiment," Ariana walked out, clapping slowly. "But, that certainly wasn't all we had to throw at you. There's plenty more we have to use on you."
"Ariana, you're going straight to hell!" Moon pointed. "I'll make sure of it!"
"Temper, temper," Ariana laughed, holding her arms out in a welcoming fashion. "If you want another crack at the boss, you'll have to take me out first. I know you won't be able to handle me this time."
"You're damn wrong about that!" Moon growled, Eve moving to her shoulders as the demigoddess' hands clenched. "You'll pay for hurting my friends. This is where we settle it."
"Be warned, my team is more than adequate to take you all out," A smirk crossed the Admin's lips. "The only reason our first real encounter went so poorly was because we truly underestimated you. We also underestimated your little monster you had hidden away. But, without her, this time, we are ready. We will make sure to deliver your head to the boss."
With that, Ariana snapped her fingers, a plume of smoke disguising the entrance of Plumeria. Violet immediately lunged for her, a Poison Sting in the form of kunai in her hands. She leapt for the opposing Vileplume Moémon, Plumeria countering with a sweep of her arm.
"You haven't learned anything, have you, Violet?" She kicked Violet square in the gut. "You couldn't beat me when you tried five years ago and you can't stop me now."
"This will be our final battle," Violet righted herself, getting into her fighting stance.
"Missssstresssss, ssshhhall I help her?" Fang emerged from her Moéball.
"Take the rest out," Ariana pointed. "I'll save the others for later."
"Undersssssstood," Fang moved in a hypnotic manner, her dancing movements starting to cause Skyla and Felicia to space out. They seemed dazed and dizzy. Even Karrie and Shadow seemed to be affected by this, slowing down as the motion of the Arbok Moémon began to work its skills. Before Shadow could start to feel further effects, she aimed and fired a Shadow Ball at Fang. It struck her, momentarily distracting her long enough for Shadow to move in close.
She moved through the shadows, emerging right in front of Fang to strike the blow. What she didn't expect was the dangerous Bite attack from the snake. Shadow screamed in pain, which shocked Skyla and Felicia out of their stupor.
"Shadow!" Skyla shouted. She moved forward, a Wing Attack separating her and Fang. She looked at Shadow, who was bleeding a purple liquid. Skyla reached into her pocket, giving a Sitrus Berry to Shadow.
"Take this and eat it," She said. "You'll be saved. Now, hurry."
"Th-Thank you," Shadow began to eat it. The wound began to heal, moving back to how it was. Shadow stood up, pulling Skyla into the shadows as Fang lunged for them, narrowly missing her ethereal jaws a second time. Shadow reemerged, this time behind her as Skyla began flapping her wings at an incredible speed. The sheer force of wind they were beginning to generate was incredible, the objects in the room beginning to be lifted up if they were light enough.
"This power…" Moon muttered. "It's Hurricane. What incredible power. I'm glad she learned that. It might help."
The waves of Flying type Energy began to bombard Fang as Skyla began to keep flapping, Shadow ducking into the shadows.
Felicia used her Psychic powers to hold Fang in place as Skyla attacked. It was a struggle, but she managed to handle it, making her hold somewhat still.
The battering force of Skyla's attack was doing something, knocking Fang on all sides and causing her to flinch. It was a powerful attack, but it was taking its toll on the Flying type.
Skyla dropped to her knees, panting as sweat poured off of her. She collapsed, Fang managing to break the Psychic influence at that moment. She lunged for Felicia, slamming a Poison coated fist into her face, knocking her through the wall of the Gym. Shadow struck from behind, hitting her with a Psychic attack of her own.
Fang turned around, her hooded pattern on her chest beginning to glow as a strange, paralyzing feeling overtook Shadow, causing her to slow down, her movement stiffened.
Violet and Plumeria's fight was quickly heating up as well, both moving faster than most eyes could see. Punches, kicks, strikes, blows all thrown at each other rapidly.
Violet managed to attack her opponent, landing the poisoned kunai into her shoulder.
"You idiot!" Plumeria kicked her in the neck. "You forget I am Poison as well!"
Violet coughed, knocked onto her back. A smokescreen popped up where she was, Plumeria rushing into it. As she lunged into it, she was struck with four blows, each from a different side. When she looked, Violet was standing there, in fighting position, three duplicates of herself standing next to her. Plumeria laughed, turning toward the one on the end.
"Is this the best trick you have?" She asked. "Three weakened duplicates? You'll need more than this to beat your superior."
"Oh, I have more than that planned to beat you," Violet her kunai gaining a slight yellowish tint. "I won't let you leave this place, Plumeria. You have caused enough suffering not only to our clan, but to Moon and her friends."
"And, what do you plan to do about that?" Plumeria laughed, moving to dodge the attacks from the Violet clones. "You know that I unlocked the secret of the Hidden Ability, thus making myself stronger by altering my body. And, with the new power I had unlocked, Effect Spore, any contact has the chance to cause an effect on you. Of course, you've been lucky so far, but once I push my ability to the max, any touch will bring pain."
"You forgot one thing about the Hidden Ability," Violet and her clones stood next to each other. "With the bringing forth of your inner hidden strength, you've sealed away your old ability forever."
"And, the point of my useless former ability is?" Plumeria scoffed. "You can't beat me now."
"Oh, but you see, I still have my regular ability," Violet said, a small orb of a yellow color floating above her fingertip. "And, my ability is Chlorophyll. I'm sure you remember that."
"And, your point?" Plumeria held up a group of Kunai, all sharp and coated in toxins. "We're inside, no sunlight to aid you."
"Well, you see, there's a trick I learned to deal with you specifically." Violet tossed the orb upward. "And, well, you'll see."
The orb exploded, blanketing the area in rich light, almost like sunlight. Plumeria's eyes widened as she looked up at it. Violet stood before her, two kunai in her hands. The four clones all moved in to attack, all attacking Plumeria.
"You fool!" Plumeria fought against the clones, managing to hold them back. "You've cut your stats down with this."
"And, yet my speed far outclasses yours. More than enough to defeat you here and now."
The clones continued their assault, beginning to land more and more blows due to the powerful burst of 'sunlight' from the orb. Eventually, Plumeria couldn't handle the assault, being kicked around like a rag doll. She was knocked into the center of the four, who jabbed her with the kunai, covered in paralyzing toxin. All four concentrated their energy into a single point, holding it there.
"Th-That move!" Plumeria gasped as the toxin took effect, preventing her from moving.
"Solarbeam," Violet confirmed it, all four clones firing their blasts, the force of the blasts, empowered by the 'sunlight', shook the building, causing an explosion.
"Violet!" Moon ran over, smacking Fang out of the way and running over. Standing in the smoke, stood Violet, now singular again, holding the defeated and unconscious body of Plumeria. Her outfit was a bit torn, but she was otherwise alright.
"I have avenged my clan," She leaned on Moon, panting heavily. "Now, we may become champions with clear conscience.
"And, do it we shall," Moon laughed. "We're going to nail it. Now, take her and go rest. We've got it from here."
"No. We fight together until it is over. Until we defeat the members of Team Rocket within this building, I need not rest."
"Then, let us fight to finish this," Moon smiled. "The others can handle Fang. You rest a bit and we'll take on Giovanni together."
"You've got it," Violet nodded, leaning back. She needed to catch her breath after the exertion she put herself through while fighting Plumeria. "I will go tend to Plumeria and then I shall return for the fight."
"You got it." Moon nodded. Eve slept in Moon's arms, tired from her own battle. She needed her own rest as well.
She sat down at the door Moon had shoved open, letting herself rest. She felt a strange feeling wash over her in that moment. It wasn't completely peace, but it wasn't completely rest either.
Her thoughts wondered to the thoughts of her clan and the destruction Plumeria had wrought upon them. She sighed, looking down at the body of her fellow clansmon.
"What caused you to destroy our clan, sister?" She asked to no one in particular. "You were destined for something more. What made you throw that all away. I had to hunt you down to stop you. I didn't want to have to do that. I truthfully didn't want to do that."
She looked down at Plumeria, sighing as she carried her out of the door. As she walked toward a tree, the grass opened up, almost as if offering itself up.
Violet placed Plumeria's body in the hole, which wasn't very deep.
"Perhaps in your next life, you can find peace." Violet walked away as the grass closed over Plumeria. "If you wish to make peace, I shall wait for you."
A tear slipped down the cheek of the Vileplume Moémon as she walked back into the Gym, deciding to hold off on the rest of the ceremonies until after she aided Moon in her battle. The demigoddess would need all the help she could get, especially without Pyrah on the team to aid with power.
"I am back," Violet stood next to Moon. "Are they doing alright against that Fang?"
"They're holding their own really well," Moon complimented them. "I'm glad they are so coordinated in this battle."
"Right," Violet nodded, Moon handing her a Super Potion. "I placed her within the grass."
"So, she's dead?"
"She is at peace, the darkness causing her to betray our clan is gone, along with her life. Perhaps she will be reborn as something more peaceful. Perhaps her body will rise. Such is the way with our people. We are of the plants after all. Ariana promised her power, but in the end all she gave her was guilt and hatred."
"Right. Well, I think we can let those four handle it. You need to rest."
Skyla kicked Fang in the gut as Karrie followed it up with a powerful Hydro Pump. Fang was blown backward as Felicia used Metronome. With the waggle of her finger, her body turned into a flaming silhouette, rushing forward and slamming into Fang. Fang recoiled, managing to take the attack.
"Foolssssss!" She shouted, her foot becoming coated in Poison as she levelled a sweeping kick to the group, dousing them in it. "Enjoy thisssss Poissssson Tail."
"Not so fast!" Felicia waggled her finger again, a pleasing aroma wafting through the room. Moon's group felt themselves become refreshed as the Poison dissipated off of them. Felicia concentrated her Psychic powers on Fang, letting loose a Psybeam to blast her backward and slam her into a wall.
Fang stood up, clearly shaken by the assault. She seemed a bit wobbly, not standing as firm as she was before. Shadow let loose a Shadow Ball to attack Fang. The orb of concentrated shadow hit her, knocking her back a bit.
Skyla rushed for her, her entire body becoming cloaked in what looked like a flaming bird, charging into Fang with the force of a train.
"Take that Brave Bird!" She shouted, following it up with a kick. Fang fell backward, passing out on the ground, the challenging team victorious against the two.
"It seems as if I have been bested." Ariana growled, recalling Fang. "I'll not let you pass though."
"If you wish to die peacefully, you'll get the fuck out of my way," Moon growled. "You're all going to pay for what you did to Amber, to Veronica, to Sabrina, and to this region! Now, perish, Ariana!"
Moon held out her hand, a sphere of water shooting forth and colliding with Ariana, slamming her through the wall and out onto the ground on the other side. Moon continued deeper into the Gym, keeping her eyes peeled for anything that may be a threat. Even still slept, still needing to recover from her battle.
As they wandered into the main challengers' arena, the lights came on and from above them stood Giovanni.
"You!" Moon shouted. "Get down here and face me, coward!"
"Oh, I believe that I'll be staying up here. I would like to live, after all."
"Then, send out your team for us to destroy! We already took down Ariana!"
"I can see that. Now, you will face my most dangerous and powerful experiment."
"We'll destroy anything you bring against us! Do your worst!" Skyla shouted, pumped up from defeating Fang with her group.
"Oh, I don't think you'll be able to destroy this experiment," Giovanni chuckled as he pushed the button in front of him, also dropping two Moéballs. "This experiment is something not even you, demigoddess, can destroy. We had to retrieve it, but it is intact for us."
The Moéballs opened, revealing his Moémon. One wore a brown dress and seemed to have armor plating of stone under it. Clutched in her hands were two powerful looking drills as well as one on her head. Her eyes were a burning golden color, her rock colored hair coming down to her waist. Her hands also seemed like they could be cannons. This was a Rhyperior Moémon.
The other Moémon was dressed in a purple bodysuit, covering all but her head. In the center of her head, she bore a horn that seemed to be coated in poison. Two animalistic ears came out of the top of her head, rodentlike in appearance, they were rounded and pink on the outside. On the inside, they were a blackish blue and were turned outward. She had a spiked tail that looked like it could crush a telephone pole. It was purple and at its thickest point, it was as thick as the Moémon's leg. Her eyes were also a golden color.
But, the most dangerous seeming one of all was the one that was behind the door that was opening underneath where Giovanni was standing. She wore purplish white stockings that went past her knees. They had small pink bows on them on the front. She wore a dress the same shade that went to her knees, ruffled and regal almost. There was a layer of purple where her stomach was, almost as if outlining it. Her arms were bare of clothing and the hair that could be seen was a white shade with the slightest of purple tint to it. In her hair was a large bow of the same shade. Her eyes, unable to be seen were a striking golden, more dangerous than any of the others. However, over her head, wrists, shoulders, chest, and feet were strange mechanical pieces, the piece over her head covering her face with a visor.
Moon stopped, staring straight at the Moémon in the middle, her mouth opened and she lost her voice for a second. Tears of horror streaked down her face as Giovanni smirked at having shaken her. After a moment, only one word could escape Moon's lips.
"Amber."
And, this story is back. I'm sorry it took this long to update, but I have come back to work on this story. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
