"You know Rebecca, you didn't have to add the "taking charms and destroying them part" in your threat", Gaspard said
"Yes I did", I said while steering the ship, "How else will we get to Elder Buff?"
"...Good point, but still", Gaspard said after sighing.
I do admit, it was a little much. Oh well. At least we got here easy.
"You! You are not welcome here, hornless ones and bull", said a bison who "greeted" us, "What makes you think you are worthy to stand among the big sky hunters?"
"We are only here for the ones named Merriweather Clark and Ms. Quinn", Tara said.
"You're words mean nothing to me hornless one", the bison said, "Our Chief will decide your fate - you will find him in the Lodge", he said pointing to the Lodge.
We followed to where he pointed.
"Who is this who comes where they are unwelcome? You are not of our people, so why have you come?" Said the Bison Chief.
"Hello village Chief, my name is Tara Fairlead, leader of this group", Tara introduced with a bow, "We wish to take the claw feet back to their homes"
"Hmm...I see bravery and honor in your eye young one, my Chief", said a bison wearing a feather hat, "We can trust them"
"Thank you Shadow of the Moon", the Chief said, "But, we will not hand the two over. They are to be punished for robbing the grave of our ancestors"
The Chief then explained how Merriweather and Nurse Quinn came to the burial ground and stole the sacred charms of their grandfathers. This didn't sit right for us. Tara asked to speak with them and the Chief let us. We follow a bison that guided our group to where Merriweather and Quinn were. This place so different from where we all were. They live in tents, they wear feathers and beast fur on their heads, and then there's their names. When we got to one of the many tents, we saw Merriwether and Quinn tied up to a pole in the center of the inside. They gave us all ten minutes.
"Hey you've got to get us out of here", Clark said in a worried tone, "We didn't do anything wrong"
"All we were doing was compiling his star charts when a horde of bison attacked", Nurse Quinn said.
"Then whose responsible for stealing the charms from the dead?", Tara asked.
"It was Johnny Ringo's Red Sash gang", Nurse Quinn said, "I saw a longboat leaving the Burial Ground full of unsavory types with masks over their faces"
"If you find them before the execution, we will help out anything way we can" Clark said.
"Don't worry", Tara said placing her hand on the rope, "We will get you out of this, I promise"
We all walked back to the lodge where Tara explained to the Chief what Merriweather and Quinn said. The Chief doesn't trust the two, but, he was willing to give us a chance to get the charms and hold back the execution for sometime. Something tells me this is going to take a while.
4 hours and 12 minutes later...
I...was not wrong. First we had to ambush a couple of red sash ships, only to find out they were in a secret location and the suckers we ambushed didn't know where it was. Then we had to ambush a couple more ships, which took a while and took some wear on the ship we had. Finally, we got a map leading to the area. Luckily the area wasn't filled with red sash ships when we got there, however, we still had to fight our way through the place. Lastly, we found ourselves in a huge part of the cave where more of those red sashers were. Beating them took some serious doing, but we finally got the charms back. And boy there were a lot of them. We could left sooner, but Tara being Tara, had to save a bird hostage. He goes by Corporal Sanders, and he was in very bad shape.
"Hold still", Tara said kneeling to Sanders, "We can help you"
"Please...you must take me to Dr. Coop in Cooper's Roost". Sanders begged.
"Okay", Tara said standing, "Kobe, you carry him. Bonnie, Rebecca, you two do your best to patch up his injuries when we get to the ship, I'll steer", she commanded
"But don't we need to help Merriwether and Nurse Quinn", Gaspard questioned
"That's why you and Ridolfo go in our place using the armada ship", Tara respond.
"What?!" I said, "Are you crazy?! You can't use tha-
"There's no time for arguments Rebecca!", Tara said serious, "Everyone move, NOW!", she commanded.
Rrr, looks like I have no say in the matter. We all did as Tara said and ran for the docks. I ran in the ship and got the Armanda ship that was settle on table in the hold. I opened it up and each of us went our separate ways. Kobe place him on one of the beds then Bonnie and I started patching him up. Dang. Like I said, this guy was in very bad shape. I used my privateer skill to heal him while Bonnie wrapped bondages on Sanders, and yet he still keeps bleeding. This is bad. I ran outside the cabin and told Tara to heal Sanders while steered the ship, she nods and we swap places. I hit the gas and steer us to Cooper's Roost.
30 minutes later...
"Guys, we're here!", I shouted opening the cabin door.
"Kobe go, hurry!", Tara shouted.
"Hai!", Kobe said picking Sanders up and ran out the cabin.
"We need to go, he's lost too much blood!", Tara said.
"Tara stop!", I said holding Tara's arm, "Let the doctor handle this"
"But-
"TARA!" I shouted, "He isn't your responsibility, he will be fine"
"...mmmm", Tara said looking down with a concerned expression.
"If you want I could stay behind and help out", Bonnie suggested.
"Please, if you will", Tara begged.
"Aright", Bonnie said running off the ship, "Good luck you two!", she said waving.
"Okay, to Elder Buff then?", I said letting go of Tara's arm.
"Yes", Tara said nodding.
Finally she agrees with me. That girl has a habit of helping anyone who needs or wants help. It's going to get in the way of our mission. As I steered to the ship I saw a clockwork ship headed to our direction, it had to be Gaspard and Ridolfo. And I was right. We followed them to the...Burial Grounds? Why? Gaspard and Ridolfo gave them the charms, didn't they? We all got off the ship and onto the dock.
"Hey, why are we back here?", I asked walking to Gaspard and Ridolfo.
"The Chief told us we had to return the charms first, then we could get Merriwether and Nurse Quinn back", Ridolfo said
"Of course", I said disgusted.
"However", Gaspard said stepping in, "A person with a strong body and pure heart can place the sacred charms on the graves"
If Kobe was here, he'd be perfect. Next would be...
"Tara", I said out loud.
"Me?"
"I don't know about the strong body part, but, you have the purest heart out of all of us"
"She's right, Tara", Gaspard said patting Tara's back, "You can do this"
"If...you guys say so", Tara said blushing a little.
We walked to the area and were greeted by the bison we beat. This time he has back up.
"You dare return to this place?", said the bison, "This time you won't have the upper hand", he said getting ready to fight.
"Wait, we have the sacred charms that were stolen", Tara said putting her hands up, "Please, let me undo this wrong that has happened", she pleaded.
Their expressions went from serious to shocked, theeen back to serious. They don't trust us. That is until they saw the bag filled with the stolen charms, they were back to being shocked. They looked to one another and nod their heads.
"We will allow you to enter"
Gaspard gave the bag to Tara and she walked into the cave. Be glad when this is all over.
