After charms, Harry and his group met up in the library of Hogwarts.
The library is filled with books, thousands of them. The most benign are at student level, while the more dangerous ones are in the higher shelves or shuttered away at the back.
Near the librarian's desk there is a closed off section, of restricted books.
"What kind of books are there" Harry wondered.
"Those are the dark books, those that deal with dark magic. I heard that when the Dark Lord went to school here, he pored over those books. But even those books only scratch the surface of what the dark arts are capable of."
Harry is curious to learn more about who gave him his scar and its connection to his twins. "Really, what was the Dark Lord's name when he went to Hogwarts."
"No one knows" said Draco "he erased all traces of his identity."
Harry peered back at the restricted books "peculiar."
"Is he rich" asked Hermione "because maybe he and his followers owe compensation for their deeds."
Draco scoffed "in the wizarding world, money is power. Power is not given to those that fall. All his victims are powerless, and will not be given power in the form of compensation. Money is power, it doesn't matter how good or bad you are in getting it. Only the powerful have lots of money."
Harry just looked askance at Draco "frankly if I knew where he kept his stashes, I would loot them in a second. And of his followers as well."
Here Harry peeked at Draco, who got a little hot headed "then maybe you should pillage Professor Snape, as I heard he was a Death Eater, a follower of the Dark Lord, before betraying them all."
"Professor Snape was evil. Well that explains it." Said Hermione.
"But back to the Ghenther people, the reason we are meeting up. How do we profit off their impending genocide in Canada. Those Canadians are going to be vicious" said Draco "apparently they are already setting up isolated camps in the far North to deal with dissenters."
"Well, maybe we could give money to them."
"You can't give power to people, that just isn't done in our society."
"Well what if it is a different currency. What if our money has two currencies. One currency is all the good that our currency can do, and the other is all the terror that our currency can do. So instead of our money being about power, it is about glory."
"So how does it work."
"Those that are powerful in light of good, so in withstanding inhumane conditions, in inventing new things that benefit people, they can get the currency focused around safety. While those that do terror such as genocides and terror attacks can only have terror money. We can split people into two groups, those that are rich in safety money, against those that are rich in terror money.
For example, we could steal all the normal money from the Death Eater followers and replace it with terror money. After all, they are rich, just not in normal money, but in terror money. We could do that to all the terrorists and criminals. Take all their normal money and convert it into terror money for them to hold onto."
"So what Death Eaters are there that have money?"
"Bellatrix Lestrange" said Neville "along with a slew of other Death Eaters. They have a lot of normal money."
"Well, we should steal from her all her normal money and replace it with terror money. On this terror money can be pictures of terrorists and Dark Lords. After all, it is the bad things of society that backs it up."
"How does this help the Ghenther people."
"Maybe we can introduce terror money into Canada, and see what groups hoard it. It would reveal what groups are powerful in terror, and are planning the future genocide.
We can't reconciliate the Canadians, their history of bloodshed is too great. They are a conquering nation. Maybe we can appeal to their vanity, their pride in their terrorism in their conquests, and have them reveal their position with terror money."
"We can't break the Statute of Secrecy."
"We won't. We will just use the very high exchange rate for wizarding money for muggle money to set up a lobbying group to push our agenda. Hermione, since you will be helping the Ghenther, you can aid in them getting normal money.
But since I will be hurting them, I will give them the terror money. The terror money will be backed with the previous leaders of the Ghenther that were vicious, brutal, and terrorizing. In short, those that exhibited dark, dangerous, and criminal behavior. We will see how the Ghenther respond to their position.
The Ghenther lack a lot of leadership. They never group together to overcome a common obstacle. They need to see past their envy and join together. To join together to lose, such as their body or money in battle. They need to believe in something ephemeral; normalcy or divinity."
"They need divinity" said Hermione. "That will inspire them to fight to escape the clutches of Canada."
"Well I think they should fight and die for normalcy, to getting back to normal."
"No, divinity will help them. Because even if they lose, they will have the divine backing them up in death. Normalcy is too selfish, it is to Earthly."
"Well, I guess we can agree to disagree" said Neville "Hermione will focus on inspiring the Ghenther to group and fight with divinity in mind, while Harry will focus on inspiring the Ghenther to lose bodies and money to fight for normalcy."
"The Ghenther are a pretty stupid people, as they don't even believe in vaccinations. In fact, many of them are right now dying of some stupid muggle disease because they refuse a simple vaccination. But I think that we can affect them."
"I know some goblins that can help use set-up the lobbying group in Canada. It will cost us a bit a money. Not more than a galleon, I think."
"Well, that is why we have our loans."
Ron looked a bit sheepish "I don't think that I can contribute my galleon for this venture. I plan on saving it."
"Fair enough. But remember, if we are successful with the Ghenther, they might pay back our assistance."
"I doubt it" said Harry "they are a very self-entitled people. A related sub-group of them even stormed a capitol over gas prices."
"Enough about that, what are we going to do about Potions. Professor Snape is a monster. We need to prepare for the next class. We need different text books to back up our procedures in the class. We can't trust the text book that the Professor assigned us."
"Too true" said Draco.
