Before going to bed, Harry visits the fossilized secret chamber.
In it, he goes to the book "Religion of Hurt" and skims past the chapter titles, before landing on "Power and Normalcy".
Going to the page, Harry reads on.
"Power is all in the present. Whether it is magical power, money, soul, or knowledge it is all in the present. It is easily extracted and proven in the present.
Normalcy, on the other hand, is like a path through time. It is the ability for someone to revert back to their previous selves. Everyone has some form of normalcy, some form of path through time that they pioneer. Extracting normalcy from a situation is being able to revert back to your previous self. But you can also extract normalcy from others, and be able to revert back to their previous selves. To have a path that connects to theirs."
Harry rubbed the faint scar that he had. Harry looked around the room and pondered. Harry is unusually smart for his age, like an adult. Like Voldemort. Had he reverted back to a previous self of Voldemort? Is he just an extraction of Voldemort through his time?
"Normalcy never gives power, instead it only gives an escape to the past. The past of yourself, or that of another. Normalcy is intangible and is commonly seen as worthless as it has no present value other than a feeling in consciousness. The usefulness of normalcy is in its unpredictability. People can track other people through time and predict them. But as long as there is normalcy, the ability to revert back, then you become un-trackable. The more normalcy that you have, the more escapes. This is especially important when being tracked by a seer. A seer cannot predict if you will just revert back to normalcy, or continue pioneering off a given set path. A Seer sets your pioneer path in stone, but by extracting normalcy from others you connect reverted paths with others, and can travel through those paths instead. To be unpredictable even to a seer or a prophesy.
When dealing with a threat, power is good for confronting it, while normalcy is good for escaping it."
Did Harry extract some Normalcy from Voldemort on the night of his defeat, or did Harry extract power? Can Harry revert back to a previous self of Voldemort? Of Voldemort's normalcy?
Since the birth of his twins Harry has come to realize that there must have been something of Voldemort imprisoned inside that scar. How else could children be birthed?
During the backfiring of the death curse on him, in Harry's defeat with his parents dead. Did he rip apart a piece of Voldemort's unstable soul, did he extract power?
These are questions that Harry could not answer, instead he reverts back to the mentality of an isolated orphan, bullied, but with a hidden secret of power. Of the mentality of someone all alone but with a special gift of greatness. Harry wondered why the Dursleys haven't given him an allowance by now. He is 11. Maybe when he returns, he should double the amount of food that he steals from them.
Until then, Harry stays in his alcoves in time, in his normalcy. Harry relives his life from birth to present, with a smattering of twisted greatness.
Harry wakes up in the fossil room, and rushes out, checking the time. It is near the end of breakfast.
Harry quickly makes his way to the Great Hall and sits down, eating as much as he can hold, before running off to potions. Harry then joins up with the rest of the Slytherins as they gather to Potions.
Once in Potions, they sit down and start to collect their supplies. No one even looks at the erroneous instructions on the board. Professor Snape is glaring at them the entire time. And then the slave ship drums start. BOOM BOOM.
"So its the cricket legs, and then we add the mushroom tops?"
"Yep, according to our research. I think after the third counter-clockwise stir we need to add the frog hearts."
The Potion class slogged on, with Neville causing a small fire, and Crabbe and Goyle causing their potion to explode.
Ron and Hermione's as well as Harry's and Draco's potions were finished and bottled by the end of the lesson. Hermione's was a deep grey, a very good color, while Harry's was beige.
Professor Snape grabbed their vials, and then carried them to his desk. He took only one glance at them, before throwing them in the trash. "Passable" is all he says. Then smiles as he sees the smoking ruins of many other students potions. "T for the rest of you."
As they exited, Harry explained how he got a passable grade "the key is to look up the lab procedure in at least two other Potions books. Not anyone could do it, with the resources available. It takes a lot of expertise."
"No it doesn't. It just takes time."
"Yeah, so much time."
"Potions kinda is a waste of time" said a girl.
