This was an idea that came to me and I had to tell. This is just a one-shot but if you want to make this into a story then you're more than welcome to. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
Danny could not believe the events that he had encountered today. To start he was on the third week of his trip around Europe, it was something he planned to do after he graduated from high school and before he started college. To be honest he needed a break from all the ghosts that he fought, most especially Skulker. His clone Dani had agreed to take over his duties while he was gone so he didn't have to worry about Amity Park being unprotected. As for his reason for his trip around Europe, well part of it was to see the world while the other part was for a private matter. However Skulker did not agree with Danny taking a vacation and decided to track him down across Europe, luckily Danny had decided to take a Fenton Thermos with him, one that he had to customize to send any ghost that was caught back to the Ghost Zone, just in case he stumbled upon ghosts that were causing trouble. Skulker had found Danny somewhere in a mountain region in Eastern Europe and had his ass handed to him yet again by Danny with the result being the same: getting sent back to the Ghost Zone.
Unfortunately, after he had sent Skulker back to the Ghost Zone, Danny was startled by a strange sound which caused him to drop the thermos damaging it. Danny knew he would have a difficult time-fighting ghosts with it broken and had no way of fixing it because he was far from any towns with technology. It was shortly after that he stumbled upon a horse-drawn carriage with a morbidly obese man sitting out of the back of it. This man happened to be a merchant called the Duke and was very mysterious. Danny couldn't help but remember his meeting with him.
FLASHBACK
Danny just looked at the Fenton Thermos as he picked it up shortly after being startled by a strange sound he had heard. He quickly noticed a crack in it and let out a small sigh. "Oh great. How am I going to fixed?" He asked himself and then said. "It's going to be very difficult handling ghosts with this broken and I doubt I will find any of the parts I need to fix this around here. I better try and find a nearby town or something to see if they have any parts I could use." Danny then started walking only to stop when he noticed a horse-drawn carriage that was nearby with a fat obese man sitting out of the back of it. Thinking this man could help him Danny approached him. "Excuse me." He said getting the man's attention.
The obese man turned to Danny letting out a small smile. "A traveler out here?" He responded as he let out a small laugh. "It's very rare for me to come across a traveler especially when they're this close to the village." Danny couldn't help but become a bit worried hearing that but decided to let it go as the man introduced himself. "Allow me to introduce myself, I am the Duke. I happen to be a humble merchant."
"Merchant?" Danny asked as he looked at the obese man since he felt there was something off about this man and being a merchant was not one of them.
"Yes." The Duke answered as he then said. "Weapons, ammunition, healing salves- anything you desire, I can provide."
Danny couldn't help but wonder if this man could help him fix the thermos. "Maybe you can help me but first let me introduce myself. I'm Danny Fenton." Danny said as he then heard some branches breaking and the sound of footsteps running away. As Danny looked around it was what the Duke said next that had him on his guard.
"Ah, Danny Fenton or otherwise known as Danny Phantom." The duke replied as Danny raise his fists.
"How do you know that?!" Danny shouted out as he wondered if he should go ghost.
"Anyone who's anyone has heard of the likes of you. A hero who has saved the planet more than once from evil ghosts who sought to conquer it or destroy it." The Duke answered as he noticed Danny with his guard up like he was expecting him to attack him. "You can relax Mr. Fenton, I mean you know harm. After all, what would I get from harming a potential customer?"
Danny just lowered his guard when he heard that but he still had to ask. "How is it that you know I am Phantom?"
Duke just let out a small laugh when Danny asked that. "As a merchant, I come across all sorts of information. I cannot disclose how I found out or who told me since that would lose me customer but you can rest assured that your secret is safe with me." He responded.
Danny just relaxed a bit more when he heard that. "I take it there are other people around here who had heard of me?" He then asked.
"Well, there are a few people around here who know about you, myself included, but unlike me, they think that you are just a made-up story." The Duke replied as he then said. "Though I am curious about how you became Phantom perhaps you could tell me." Danny just gave a nod as he then told the Duke the story about how he became a halfa. After hearing that the Duke just gave out another laugh. "It's amazing how some things are made just the simplest mistakes humans can make."
Danny just looked at the merchant as he let out another laugh after saying that. "I'm sorry but I can help but feel that I'm in the middle of a horror movie." He said causing the merchant to look at him.
"How so?" He asked.
"Well the creepy forest is a start but mostly it's you. You sort of remind me of the creepy old guy that warns the teenagers not to go down a certain road since it leads to something terrible only for them to blow off his warning and end up getting hunted by a monster or a killer. No offense." Danny explained.
"None took Mr. Fenton." The Duke replied just letting out another laugh as he then asked. "Now how can I be of service?" Danny then pulled out his thermos and explained what happened as he handed it to the Duke who started to examine it. "This is quite a unique weapon." He said.
"Yeah, I was hoping you have some parts that I could use to fix it." Danny stated. as the Duke just looked at him.
"I'm afraid I don't any parts to fix it." The Duke responded as Danny lowered his head only to continue. "Yet. If you give me a few hours I'll have the parts you need."
Danny just looked at him in disbelief. "A few hours?" He asked with a puzzled look on his face.
"Why it's all part of our first-class customer service. I like my customers to keep coming back so when they need something that I don't have then I move as fast as I can to get it." The merchant explained as he then asked what parts Danny needed. Danny then proceeds to tell him with the Duke summing up how much it would be to get them and giving Danny the price.
As Danny looked at the amount he just frowned as he then told the merchant that he didn't have enough money. The Duke just gave out another laugh telling Danny that if he has something he would like to sell he would buy it from him at a fair price. Danny began pulling out items from his backpack hoping to find something he didn't need until he pulled out a CD which caught the Duke's eyes. "That looks like quite the rare item. I would be willing to accept it as payment if you would give it to me." He said only for Danny to shake his head.
"I'm afraid this item is not for sale. It was a bit hard to find but it's something I'm not willing to give up." Danny said as he looked at the CD: Miss D and the Pallboys.
The Duke just looked at Danny seeing the value the item had in his eyes. "I take it there's a story behind it?" He asked as Danny gave a nod.
"Yes, there is." Danny responded as he began to explain why the CD was important to him but more importantly the history that Miss D had with his great grandfather Daniel Fenton. Apparently back when his great grandfather was a young man, whose wife left him for another man leaving him to raise his grandfather alone, he met her. He was a bartender working at a jazz bar that she sang at, when they met they instantly fell in love. She didn't care that he was a single father, in fact, she loved the fact that he was doing everything he could to raise his son. She never told him much about her past, the only thing he got out of her was that she was from a village in Eastern Europe and that she had a hereditary blood disease. She came out to America to make a name for herself as a singer before the disease took her. Daniel just encouraged Miss D not to give up and try whatever treatment that was available along with proposing marriage to her which she accepted.
However, their relationship soon came to a mysterious end as Miss D received a letter that her parents had died and she was needed to settle the estate. She promised Daniel that she would be gone for at least a week or two and that they would get married when she returned. Only she didn't return. Daniel had no idea what happened to her and was determined to find out until a man, claiming to have news about Miss D, came to their house informing them she had died. Apparently, she was killed in a wolve attack but Daniel didn't believe the man, deep down he knew she was alive and that the man was wrong. Daniel spent the rest of his days waiting for his true love to come back claiming she was still alive. His son decided to try and give his father some peace of mind by trying to locate an article about her death or something, even trying to track down a relative of the man who visited them. However, to his surprise, he found out that the man who visited them never existed whoever it was gave them a fake name.
"It was at that point that my grandfather started to believe his father who died shortly after. He did his best to try and find out where Miss D came from but never had any luck. He passed this story down to my father and passed it down to my sister and me. My father was too interested in ghosts to try and solve the mystery while my sister just believes that they were looking for something that wasn't there."
"But you believe the story is true and came to solve the mystery yourself, right?" The Duke asked as Danny gave a nod.
"Yeah." Danny replied as he reached into his back and pulled out some pictures of Miss D with his grandfather and great grandfather. "While I'm here, I might as well ask. Does this woman look familiar to you?" Danny asked as the Duke looked at the pictures.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Fenton but I can't help you." Duke responded causing Danny to frown and put the pictures away. "However I will take that story as payment." He then said getting Danny's attention.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yes, it was quite a moving tale but this will be the only time I make this exception." The Duke stated.
"Thank you." Danny replied as he then asked. "About how long do you think it will take?"
"About maybe four to five hours." The Duke responded. "I suggest you wait in the forest since it would be bad for you if you went into the village." The Duke said as he explained to Danny about Mother Miranda, who protects the village from the Lycans, and how the whole village worships her like she's a god.
Danny just gave a shocked look hearing this. "Okay, now I know I'm in a horror movie." he said as the Duke just laughed.
"I'm afraid you are." He replied. "One more thing, when you stay in the forest make sure to hide real good and whatever you do, don't involve yourself with the people here. For if you get yourself involved, I'm afraid you'll go down a path where you won't be able to turn back from until you reach the end."
Danny couldn't help but feel scared hearing that but just nodded and walked away. "Definitely in a horror movie." He said.
END OF FLASHBACK
Right now Danny was staying hidden as creatures that looked like werewolves, or Lycans as Duke called them, were wandering around looking for him. Luckily he learned how to use some of his ghost powers without going ghost so right now he was invisible to them. As for why they were looking for him was because he didn't get himself involved by stopping a massacre.
When he started to wait in the forest he noticed a bunch of men carrying guns and knives. He couldn't help but be a bit curious so he followed them quietly, it was then he noticed them approaching a man wearing a long tattered coat with boots and a fedora but the main thing that stuck out about him was the fact that he was carrying a huge custom made hammer. He heard the men yelling at him saying that while he may be a lord that serves under Mother Miranda they were tired of him terrorizing them and were going to put a stop to it. The man with the hammer pulled out a cigar and began smoking it stating while he understands where they're coming from there's a certain super-sized bitch in a castle which he pointed to who would never let him live it down if he spared them. He then summoned all of their weapons to him using some kind of electricity, the moment he did that Danny knew what was about and what he had to do. Without any hesitation, he went ghost and attacked the man with the hammer giving the men who came to kill him a chance to get away.
He introduced himself as Danny Phantom to the man with the hammer, noticing the small smile on his face like he knew who he was. The man with the hammer began to attack Danny with the weapons he had taken from those men but Danny quickly destroyed them with an ectoblast and quickly began punching the man with the hammer in the face repeatedly. However, the man with the hammer managed to hit Danny with his hammer and began beating him with it, Danny seeing that the man was not going to let up decided to end the fight by using his ghostly wail which sent the man flying off while causing the entire area to shake. Seeing that he made a big scene, Danny then turned back to normal and went back to hiding in the forest for the next few hours.
Danny knew he would probably have people looking for him after that but he never expects it to be werewolves. He had decided to stay hidden until the Duke had retrieved the parts he needed to fix the thermos and then leave. However unknown to Danny, he was about to see someone who changes his mind into staying.
EARLIER IN AN ABANDONED CHURCH
Miranda had immediately summoned her children, the four lords, for a family meeting to discuss the huge earthquake along with that ghastly sound they had felt and heard. To her surprise, it was Karl who filled her in on what happened telling her how he was attacked by some kid who went by the name Danny Phantom for no reason. Alcina just laughed at him calling him a liar while telling Miranda about what she saw from her castle how a bunch of villagers was going to attack Karl for terrorizing them only for him to turn the tables on them. he was going to kill them until she saw him getting attack by this Danny Phantom. As Alcina and Karl told her what they saw this Danny Phantom do, Miranda could not help but wonder what he was doing in her village along with the shock of discovering he was real.
Miranda had heard of the tale of Danny Phantom and how he fought the ghost that plagued his hometown. However, as a woman of science, she disregarded everything she had heard about him as nothing but garbage to bring tourists to his dumb town. To her ghosts were nothing but myths, she did not believe in the supernatural yet from time to time she would research would she could about it in an attempt to find something to bring back her daughter Eva. One item is a place called the Ghost Zone and a powerful ghost that resided in it: Clockwork, the ghost of time. Miranda knew that Danny Phantom could be the key to bringing back her daughter and she needed him now.
She was immediately brought out of her thoughts as Karl and Alcina began screaming at each other as usual with Donna's doll Angie screaming for them to fight. "Enough!" She shouted out as she spread out her black wings. "You are to capture this intruder and bring him to me, alive. Do not want you to severely hurt him, just incapacitate him. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Mother Miranda." The four lords said and were about to leave until Salvatore decided to ask something.
"What about the other traveler?" He asked causing them all to stop and look at him.
"What other traveler?" Alcina asked as she looked at him in disgust.
"A boy was talking to the Duke, he had black hair and blue eyes. I heard him tell the Duke that his name is Danny Fenton." Salvatore answered as Karl just looked at him in anger while Alcina looked lost in thought.
"Let me get this straight. You saw a traveler talking to the Duke and you didn't get rid of him like you were supposed to?!" He shouted out causing Salvatore to flinch.
"But Mother Miranda told us not to attack the Duke or his customers! Even if he was a traveler if someone is with the Duke we are supposed to leave them alone!" Salvatore yelled out.
Karl just let out a growl hearing that. "You fucking idiot! You should have done your job and attacked him! That way you would have been the one to get your ass kicked instead of me!" He screamed out.
"What do you mean?" Salvatore asked with a confused look on his face.
"Figures you wouldn't figure it out since you're a fucking moron! Danny Fenton is Danny Phantom! Their last names basically sound the same not to mention they have the same first name! Plus what are the chance what are the chances we get two travelers in one day when we only get one about every few months! Get a fucking clue and use your fucking brain!" Karl screamed out as Salvatore whimpered as Angie screamed out for Karl to yell at the freak. Karl then looked at Alcina surprised that she didn't say anything. "What's wrong with you?! I thought you would have added your two cents about having my ass kicked?" He asked getting her attention.
"What were you saying?" Alcina asked since hearing the name Danny Fenton seemed kind of familiar to her. It was like she knew that name but she didn't know-how. There's no way she would know a man after all they are nothing but filthy animals. Right?
Karl just looked at her in anger that she didn't hear a word he just said. "Weren't you fucking listening?! Didn't you hear a fucking word I just said?! Do I have to fucking repeat myself?! He screamed out only to be cut off by Miranda.
"Enough!" She screamed out causing Karl to shut up. "Karl may be right about Danny Fenton being Danny Phantom so if any of you see a traveler you are to capture them and bring them to me." She said as she then looked at Karl. "Also Salvatore was right to leave the traveler alone since he was with the Duke. I need not remind you that the Duke is off limits along with anyone he is doing business with until that business is done." She stated since the truth was she didn't know what the Duke was, the only thing she knew was that he was to be left alone. It was something the Megamycete had told her and she had decided to obey.
Miranda then looked at Alcina and knew the name Danny Fenton had got her to remember her past before she became a lord and one of her children. How Alcina originally came back to settle her parents' estate and then leave however Miranda saw her as a potential test subject and couldn't let her. She used the power of the mold to erase Alcina's memories and implement her own mostly being that she hated men, it was a very hard task to do since she kept remembering the man, Daniel Fenton, she was going to marry but in the end, she succeeded. Although now and then Alcina would start to remember which would cause Miranda to do it over again. She even went to Daniel disguising herself as a man telling his son and him how she was killed in a wolf attack however Daniel refused to believe her. She figured that was the grief talking.
However, she couldn't help but be a little concerned about this traveler having the same name as the man Alcina was going to marry. Miranda decided that it was just a coincidence and that there was no way that he could have any connection to Daniel Fenton. Right now she knew she had to fix Alcina and have her look for the traveler. Telling Alcina to stay behind so she could tell her what was just revealed she dismissed the others.
Karl couldn't help but be very pissed at everything that was happening though he did feel that his luck was about to change. He had heard about Danny Phantom in one of his many attempts to find some way to take down Miranda and the other lords so he could be free of her and free to do whatever he wants. Originally he had thought of Danny Phantom to be a myth as well however his encounter with him proved that the myth was real. While he was pissed off about getting his ass kicked, he saw this as his chance to finally be free. He would need to get to Phantom first before anyone else so he could experiment on him and find a way to use his powers for himself.
BACK WITH DANNY
Danny was currently looking at the watch noticing he had about two hours left. "Ugh, this is going to take forever." Danny moaned out as he then heard footsteps coming his way. Turning invisible he looked to see who it was, expecting another werewolf but was surprised when he saw a giant woman who had pale-white skin and looked to be about nine feet tall. She was wearing a long white dress with multiple pearl necklaces around her neck, a large black wide-brimmed hat on her head, and black gloves on her hands. Danny was a bit curious and got a bit close to getting a good look at her instantly looked shocked when he saw her face. It was Miss D.
"How can she still be alive? It can't be her, could it?" He asked himself as he then thought about showing her pictures to the Duke thinking he lied to him only to remember him telling Danny that he couldn't help him. When he thought about it more he realizes that the Duke didn't lie to him, he just said he couldn't help him. This made Danny think more about what Duke told him about that lady Mother Miranda, making him wonder if she had a hand in this.
Danny quietly followed her noticing her making her way into a castle. It made him remember the conflict with the man with the hammer, how he mentioned a certain super-sized bitch. He also remembered what those men saying about him being a lord that serves this Mother Miranda woman. The more he thought about the more he wondered how powerful Mother Miranda could be and what she had done to Miss D. He then remembered what Duke told him, that if he got involved he might find himself going down a road where he won't be able to turn back. Danny couldn't help but compare the merchant to Clockwork for some reason since they both seem to know what was going to happen next. However Danny couldn't help but realize the Duke was right, there was no turning back. He needed the truth not just for himself but for his grandfather and great-grandfather. "Time to go down that road." Danny said as he made his way into the castle.
THE END
Thank you for reading I hoped you enjoy it. If you want to make this into a story you're more than welcome to. The only thing I ask is if you decide to pair Danny with someone it isn't slash. I look forward to reading it if you decide to make this into a story. Again thank you for reading.
