Review Corner:
Peter Kim: Kiryu's Deck is more of a Raider deck then a Pure Raidraptor Deck so he has some Phantom Knight supports that he can use against Non Extra Monsterse along with his other tech cards. Kaito is more of Yuma's Rival so I don't know if Kiryu will fight him.
QueenOfNiii: Ultimate Falcon wouldn't be appearing in the story until at least the WDC Finals.
Chapter 3: The Falcon and the Runaway Duelist
(I am crap at writing Tsundere Characters.)
I tore open the pack I had just bought and flipped through the cards. The Heart Piece I had won from Shobee was sitting nice and securely in my Heart Container hanging from my neck.
After my duel in the construction area, I had found I earned some DP which was the currency of this world and to my surprise somehow all the DP I had earned in total from all my YGO video games had followed me, meaning I had quite a bit.
I decided it would be a good time to try spicing up my deck a bit, so I had asked Yuma where a nearby card shop was and he pointed me that way, where I bought several packs.
"Woah, these are pretty good, some of them I never even heard of before." I muttered to myself at some of the cards. I picked out the ones I could see potential in the future and slid them into my deck case on my belt to work into the deck later, while the rest I put in my pocket for later, as some I could give to Yuma or Kotori if I managed to get her to duel in this Timeline past what she did later on.
Off in the distance I heard an explosion, I stood up and dusted myself off.
"Yup, the 12 o'clock attack by Anna, right on time." I said as I began to run towards it.
As I got closer, I heard surprised screams from Yuma and Kotori spread out, looking around I saw the tower I knew Yuma originally dueled Anna on, so I made a beeline for it and climbed to the top.
"We should be all right all the way up here." Yuma says as he and Kotori come up exhausted.
"Yo." I said giving Yuma a wave.
"Kiryu, What are you doing here?" Yuma says in surprise.
"Enjoying the sights." I say with a teasing mock as I lean against the railing, "You?"
"We Were…" Kotori begins to say, still trying to catch her breath.
"End of the line!" Anna interrupts.
I turned to look up at Anna, fighting hard to not let the blush on my face show, as Yuma and Kotori looked up in surprise.
"You guys can't run away no…" Anna begins before her Cannon malfunctions and she falls off with a scream.
"You all right?" I ask her as she lands in my arms and I look at her in concern.
Anna locks eyes with me for a moment and her face turns bright red, before jumping out of my arms.
"I didn't need your help, Baka." Anna yells before running over to grab her Cannon and points it at Yuma, "You aren't running away! Are you prepared?!" she asks.
"J-Just hold on, What in the world is going on here, anyway?!" Yuma asks.
"Hmph, You're as dishonest as ever, Yuma Tsukumo!" Anna says, taking off her D-Gazer.
"Aren't you Anna?!" Kotori says in recognition.
"Friend of yours?" I asked Kotori.
"Anna Kozuki, She transferred to another school two years ago but she always fought with boys and protected bullied kids." Kotori told me.
"Hoh." I hummed in interest.
"Did we know someone like that?" Yuma says stupidly.
I saw Anna grit her teeth, "If you don't remember me, I'll have to jog your memory!" she yells, shoving Yuma down and aiming her cannon in his face.
"I remember, I remember, I think I remember you now!" Yuma yells in a panic.
"So, what did this idiot do to make you angry?" I asked, thumbing at Yuma.
"Oi." Yuma muttered with a sweatdrop.
"It's obvious, It's for revenge!" Anna replied.
"Revenge?" Yuma and Kotori said in surprise, while I raised an eyebrow.
"Yuma Tsukumo! I… L-Like...Y…" Anna stutters out looking around.
"Huh?" Yuma says confused.
"LIke I said, I...Love you." Anna says again trailing off at the end so silently, I can only hear her because I was right next to her.
Yuma tilts his head confused.
"Forget it!" Anna snaps.
Kotori and I lock eyes and give a silent nod to each other in understanding of what's going on.
"So I…"Anna tries to say.
"So what on earth is going on here?!" Yuma says in frustration.
"I once put glue underneath your shoes, drew on your D-Pad, cut a hole in your swimming trunks and put a rock in your rice ball." Anna tells him.
"Just how mean are you?" Yuma asks, still not getting it.
Ahh the Tsundere confession. I thought.
Anna glared at me out of the corner of her eye.
'Did she sense what I thought.' I wondered with a shudder as Anna returned her Gaze to Yuma in full force.
"Ah, now that you mention it." Yuma says trying to play coy.
"Do you remember now?" Anna demands, "And I transferred two years ago. That's why I called you out at that time, because I wanted to confess to you before I moved!"
I heard Kotori gasp at that.
"But you didn't come, I thought you knew my feelings." Anna said sadly.
I felt bad for her, I knew this all stemmed from a misunderstanding but the feelings of a broken heart she felt were real.
"I am definitely taking revenge for this!" Anna said in anger, going to punch Yuma.
Ok this was where I stepped in, I moved in front of Yuma and caught Anna by her wrist, stopping her punch cold.
"Eh…" Anna says in shock.
"If you are a duelist, channel your anger not into fists, but a duel!" I said as I lightly threw Anna back a bit.
"In a duel?" Anna mutters.
"Kiryu, I don't think this can be settled through dueling!" Kotori lightly scolds me.
"Fine, I'll be your opponent, I started dueling, figuring I might have to duel Yuma but this works as the perfect test for my deck." Anna says, accepting my challenge inserting her deck into her D-Pad.
"This makes no sense." Kotori sighs, shaking her head.
Anna and I walked to the opposite sides of the roof while Yuma and Kotori went to the side.
"Under the conditions that Yuma belongs to me should I win!" Anna states.
"Eh!" Yuma and Kotori yell in shock.
"And if I win…" I hummed crossing my arms before a random Kingdom Hearts scene flashed in my mind, "How about one date?" I said to Anna mimicking what Zack said to Aqua in Birth By Sleep.
EHHH!" Everyone yells in shock.
"KIRYU!" Kotori yells at me.
Anna's face turned the color of her hair, "B-Baka, I told you that I already like Yuma." she says flustered.
"It was the only thing I could think of, that was an equally balanced ante to what you're getting." I said with a shrug.
"W-Whatever." Anna Shakes her head, "Let's fight….." she trails off.
"Kiryu, Kiryu Kurosaki." I introduced myself.
"Let's fight, Kiryu Kurosaki." Anna challenges me.
"Duel Disk, Set!" Anna says while I activate mine. "D-Gazer, Set!" We both said this time as everyone put on their D-Gazer's while my Tattoo activated.
"AR Vision - Link established."
"DUEL!" Anna and I cried out. (Anna:4000/5) (Kiryu:4000/5)
"Is this the so-called "Human Love" that's something beyond my understanding?" Astral asks observing the situation.
"I'm going first, My turn, draw!" Anna said drawing for her turn, "I Summon Rocket Arrow Express!" The portal opened as a giant train came forth. (Rocket Arrow Express/Level 10/5000ATK)
"Hoh, Not too shabby." I commented.
"5000 Attack Power, What a Monster!" Yuma yells in surprise.
"She summoned a heavy-class monster right away!" Astral observes.
"This card cannot be normal summoned, This card can only be special summoned from my hand if I do not have any cards on my field, and during my turn it will be destroyed if I don't send 5 cards from my hand to the graveyard" Anna explains.
"Quite the cost there." I commented.
"5 cards from your hand, If you send all of them to the graveyard, doesn't that mean your hand will be empty?" Yuma yells in shock.
"During the turn I special summon Rocket Arrow Express, I can't declare an attack, while this card is face-up on my field, I cannot set other cards either. I end my turn, alright let's see how you will attack!" Anna says challenging me.
"I draw." I said drawing for my turn, "Tch." I gritted out this hand wasn't that great. "I set 4 cards face down, Then I activate the Continuous Spell, Mirage of Nightmare." I said as my cards materialized on the field. "Turn End." I declared. (Kiryu: 1)
"Huh, So you're gonna run away I was expecting more from you." Anna says.
"It appears Kiryu started off with a bad hand." Astral comments.
"This will be over quickly, It's my turn Draw!" Anna says drawing her card.
"At this moment, Mirage's effect activates!" I called out as the card began to glow, "During your standby phase I draw until I'm holding 4 cards, but during my next standby phase I must discard the same number I drew, I am holding 1 card meaning I draw 3." I say as I draw my cards. (Kiryu:4)
"You better pray those cards are enough." Anna says, "I choose not to pay the cost, so Rocket Arrow is destroyed." she says as her monster self-destructs.
"Insanity!" Astral says in shock.
"I set 5 cards, and end my turn." Anna says.
"Now 5 set cards, plus no monsters are Kiryu and Anna both doing a no guard?" Yuma asks.
"Alright, come at me!" Anna taunts me
"It's my turn, Draw!" I said drawing my card."
Mirage begins to glow in my spell and trap card zone.
"And now Kiryu must discard 3 cards due to the effect of his Spell Card." Astral states.
"That effect is a trivial thing." I said in reply to Astral's observation.
"Did he just?" Astral asks in shock.
I gave a light smirk, enjoying teasing Astral, "I activate the quick play spell Poisonous Provisions." I said as the spell card flipped up, it looked like Emergency Provisions with a bunch of expired food on it with a deep purple aura coming from the food.
"With this card I send 1 Spell or Trap on the field to the GY and Take 1000 points of damage, I send Mirage of Nightmare." I said wincing as Mirage vanished and my life took a hit. (Kiryu:4000 - 3000)
"Why would Kiryu activate an effect to self destruct?" Kotori asks.
"For this." I said picking a card from my hand, "When I take effect damage I can Special Summon this card from my hand, Come Raidraptor - Avenge Vulture" I cried out slapping the card onto the blade as the monster appeared. (RR - Avenge Vulture/Level 4/1700 ATK)
"Hoh, Not bad." Anna comments me.
"Battle, I attack you directly with Avenge Vulture!" I ordered as my monster charged forth.
"All right, if this connects, Kiryu will deal 1700 points of heavy damage, Go!" Yuma cheers out.
"But Yuma, She has 5 set cards, Kiryu is being reckless." Astral states.
"I destroy all the set cards on my field!" Anna says as her back row vanishes.
"What?!" Astral gasps.
"Then I special summon Snow Plow Hustle Rustle!" Anna says as her new monster appears, "This card cannot be normal summoned. When my opponent declares a direct attack, by destroying all of my Magic and Trap cards I can special summon it from my hand. Show yourself, Snow Plow Hustle Rustle!" (Snow Plow Hustle Rustle/Level 10/2500 ATK)
"Avenge, Hold off for Now." I say calling off my attack.
"You must be scared!" Anna mocks me.
I smirked, "No, I just know what's coming next."
"You're pretty clever Kiryu, I activate the monster effect of Snow Plow Hustle Rustle." Anna declares as the Graveyard opens, "For Every Magic or Trap card destroyed by the effect of Hustle Rustle, I can inflict 200 points of damage to my opponent." she says as 5 cards came out and lined up in front of each other.
"5 cards, which means 1000 damage!" Yuma says in shock.
"Kiryu!" Kotori calls out in worry.
Hustle Rustle destroyed the 5 cards and launched a pile of snow at me. (Kiryu:3000 - 2000)
"Alright, I've got him down to 2000 life, I'm gonna win this" Anna cheers out.
When the Snow Cleared, I had a second Avenge Vulture on my field (RR - Avenge Vulture/Level 4)
"I see so you had another one of those." Anna comments.
"What's going on in this duel, no matter how you look at it, both their moves are weird and nonsensical" Astral asks confused.
"It's your turn!" Anna tells me.
I nodded and drew for my turn and looked over my cards.
"Hurry it up, I doubt you can beat my super strong deck, Hurry up and end your turn already." Anna boasts.
"Just be patient Ann-Chan." I told her.
"A-Ann-Chan?" Anna stammers out confused.
"I summon Raider's Wing!" I call out slapping the card onto my disk. (Raider's Wing/Level 4/0 ATK"
"Why would you summon that monster? Are you making fun of me!" Anna says angrily.
"Nothing of the sort." I said calmly, "I set one card and end my turn." (Kiryu:2000/1)
"It's my turn, Draw!" Anna says drawing for turn, looking at it she smirks, "I activate the magic card, Special Schedule, This card can special summon 1 Machine-Type monster with 3000 or more ATK from my graveyard in defense position!" she says as a signal light appears and the GY Portal opens.
"Revive, Rocket Arrow Express!" Anna cries out as the monster reemerges.(Rocket Arrow Express/Level 10/0 DEF)
"That monster again?" Yuma comments.
"Two Level 10 Monsters, Gustav is coming?" I muttered under my breath.
"Prepare yourself Kiryu, I'm going to use this chance to test the new power of my Runaway deck, that I plan on using to make Yuma pay for what he did to me!"
"New Power?" I asked with a frown, this was strange she never mentioned a new power in the show.
Yuma and Astral also look over curiously.
"I overlay the LV10 Rocket Arrow and Snow Plow." Anna says as her two monsters turn into energy and the overlay network opens.
"NO WAY!" I said in shock, staring at the galaxy style network portal.
"I build the overlay network with these two monsters, Xyz Summon." Anna calls out as there was a brief flash, "Come forth, Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora! (N81SDRC - Super Dora/Rank 10/3200 ATK/OLU:2)
"A Numbers Monster, and it has 3200 Attack Points" Yuma says in shock.
"Impossible, how is she able to resist the influence, not to mention it's a Rank 10 one!" Astral asks in shock, "Yuma Pay attention, should Kiryu lose we must learn all we can about this number to counter it.
"S-Sure." Yuma stammers out, still a bit in shock.
My eyes narrowed as I focused on Anna completely, This wasn't what normally happened, My Presence must be causing a Time Boom of sorts.
"Have a taste of its power, I attack Raider's Wing with Super Dora!" Anna declared as her Number began charging it's cannons.
"If this hits Kiryu will take 3200 points of damage!" Astral states.
"Kiryu!" Kotori cries out.
"Go, Super Dora! Ready to fire, Maximum Cannon!" Anna cried out as her Number attacked.
"I activate the Quick Play Magic Raidraptor - Rapid Xyz!" I called out as my card flips open, "During the Battle Phase I can Xyz Summon a Raidraptor Xyz Monster I control, I Overlay My Level 4 Raider's Wing and 2 Raidraptor Avenge Vultures!" I called out as my three monsters went into the Overlay Network.
"Obscured falcon, raise your sharpened talons in front of adversity and spread your wings of rebellion! Xyz Summon! Appear! Rank 4! Raidraptor - Rise Falcon!" I chanted as I xyz Summoned one of my decks' ace monsters. (RR - Rise Falcon/Rank 4/100 ATK/2OLU)
"100 ATK?" Yuma says in shock.
"I was expectation more than that, Go Dora, Wipe out that Bird." Anna says.
"Thanks to the effect of my Spell card, I can activate the effect of my Xyz Monster right after it was Xyz Summoned." I explained.
"Will this be enough to combat the Number?" Astral wonders to himself
"I activate Rise Falcon's Monster Effect, Once Per Turn by detaching an Xyz Material from this card and it gains the ATK of your Special Summoned Monsters until the end of this turn." I said as Rise Falcon absorbed the energy and caught on fire with a screech. (RR - Rise Falcon:100 ATK - 3300 ATK)
"3300 ATK?" Astral says in surprise.
"Woah, Nice one Kiryu!" Yuma compliments.
"I end my turn!" Anna says begrudgingly as Rise Falcon's ATK returns to normal. (RR - Rise Falcon: 3300 ATK - 100 ATK) (Anna:4000/0)
"It's my turn, Draw!" I said drawing my card, "I activate the Xyz Treasure Spell Card, I draw 1 card for each Xyz Monster on the field, Since there are two that means I draw 2 cards!" I said drawing my cards.
"It's Here!" I said with a smirk as I looked at my cards, "I activate the Magic Card, Rank-Up-Magic Raid Force!"
"RANK UP?!" Anna cries out in shock.
"Here it comes, Kiryu's special talent!" Yuma says excitedly.
"I use Rise Falcon as a component, to Xyz Summon a Raidraptor one rank higher!" I declared as the Overlay Network opened above Rise Falcon and my monster went into it., "Ferocious falcon, cut through fierce battles and flap your wings to defeat your approaching enemies! Rank Up Xyz Change! Appear! Rank 5 Raidraptor - Blaze Falcon!" (RR - Blaze Falcon/Rank 5/1000 ATK/OLU:3)
"Your pretty interesting Kiryu." Anna says with a smirk, "But it's not enough, My Number can only be destroyed by another Number.
"True, but what about this?" I rhetorically asked, knowing Dora's effect, "I activate Blaze Falcon's effect, by detaching an Overlay Unit, I can destroy all Special Summoned monsters you control and inflict 500 points of damage for each." I said as Blaze Falcon released its heat seeking missiles.
"Clever move, Numbers can still be destroyed by card effect." Astral comments
"I activate Super Dora's effect!" Anna says as Dora absorbs one of it's Overlay Units, "Until the end of this turn Dora is unaffected by all other card effects.
"So Anna's Number can make itself completely invincible." Astral states.
"So that means Kiryu can't defeat it?" Yuma asks
"It will be tough for Kiryu, but not impossible." Astral tells Yuma.
"You can do it, Kiryu!" Kotori says in support.
"Clever effect, but it has one weakness." I told Anna.
"Your bluffing." Anna says
"Let's find out." I said with a grin, "Battle, Go Blaze Falcon!"
"Impossible, you're attacking my 3200 ATK Dora with your 1000 ATK Blaze Falcon?!" Anna gaps in shock.
"Blaze Falcon can attack you directly!" I said as Blaze Falcon flew over Dora and attacked Anna.
Anna let out an admittedly cute sounding scream as the attack hit and sent her flying back a bit. (Anna:4000 - 3000)
"Alright Kiryu did some damage!" Kotori cheered.
"I end my turn!" I said as I couldn't use Blaze Falcon's destruction effect from the attack.
"It's my turn, Draw!" Anna says drawing for her turn, "I summon Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede!" she declared slapping the card she just drew onto the disk as the portal opened and a Pegasus pulling a train came out. (Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede/Level 4/1800 ATK)
"I activate Pegasus' effect, when it's summoned I can special summon one Earth Machine monster from my Graveyard, Revive Snow Plow Hustle Rustle!" Anna says as the GY Opened up and her monster returned, "Then Flying Pegasus becomes a Level 10 Monster (Snow Plow Hustle Rustle/Level 10/2500 ATK) (Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede: Level 4 - Level 10)
"She has 2 Level 10 monsters again." Astral said.
"Bring it, Ann-Chan!" I tell her.
"D-Don't call me that, Baka!" Anna huffs out flustered before shaking her head, "I Overlay the Level 10 Snow Plow Hustle Rustle and Flying Pegasus Railroad Stampede!" she declares as her monsters enter the Overlay Network, "I build the overlay network with these two monsters, Xyz Summon, Come forth, Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max!" (SDRC Gustav Max/Rank 10/3000 ATK/OLU 2)
"Two monsters with 3000 Attack Points!" Yuma says in shock.
"Now I activate the effect of Gustav Max!" Anna declares as Gustav absorbs the Overlay Unit and begins to transform, "Once per turn, by detaching one overlay unit, this card inflicts 2000 damage to my opponent!"
"It transformed, plus 2000 points of damage, if this hits Kiryu is done for." Yuma stammers out.
"Get ready, Yuma!" Astral tells his partner.
"Go, Gustav Max! Big Canon!" Anna cries out as her monster fires it's cannon.
"Counter Trap, Raidraptor Silent Roar!" I called out as one of my 3 set cards flip opens, "When an effect that deals effect damage is activated while I control a Raidraptor Monster, I can Negate that effect!" I said as Gustav's attack bounces off a barrier.
"Kuso!" Anna cusses out, stomping her foot in anger, "In that case I'll just crush you with my monsters, Battle Go Gustav Max attack Blaze Falcon!" She orders her monster.
"I send Raidraptor - Booster Strix from my hand to the GY in order to give Blaze Falcon a new effect." I said discarding the card and Blaze Falcon changed its look a bit, "I now activate Blaze Falcon's effect, by Detaching an Overlay Unit, when you target Blaze Falcon for an attack, I can detach an overlay unit to negate this attack.." I said as the attack was stopped.
"Tch." Anna hissed out.
"Then by detaching a second overlay unit, I can destroy the attacking Monster." I said as Blaze Falcon fired it's laser missiles.
"Super Dora's effect activates!" Anna says as her Number detaches it's last Overlay Unit, "For the rest of this turn Gustav Max is unaffected by all other card effects." she says as a barrier appears protecting Gustav.
"Clever try there Kiryu, but my combo is unbeatable." Anna says, "Here's the final blow, I attack the 1000 ATK Blaze Falcon with Super Dora who has 3200 ATK!" she says as her Number attacks my Xyz Monster.
"Kiryu!" Kotori and Yuma call out in worry as Dora slowly advances forward.
"Gahhh!" I cried out as I was sent flying back by the attack, dust flying everywhere as Blaze Falcon was destroyed.
"I did it, Hooray, Hooray!" Anna cheered out, "This duel is ov…" she pauses.
I stood up, staggering a bit from the impact. (Kiryu:2000 - 2800)
"What, how did you gain Life?" Anna says in shock.
I pointed to my now face up trap card, "Just before the attack I activated the Nutrient Z Trap Card, when I would take 2000 or more points of Battle Damage, I gain 4000 LP before Damage Calculation."
"I see, just before Dora's attack hit, Kiryu's life went up to 6000." Astral commented.
"So you somehow survived huh, but it will be over next turn!" Anna says begrudgingly, "Turn End!"
"What's Kiryu gonna do, if he takes Gustav Max's effect even once he's gonna lose 2000 LP and he has to get past two monsters with 3000 ATK." Yuma mutters.
I smiled, "You're a pretty decent duelist Ann-Chan." I compliment her before frowning, "But my comrades and I won't fall to this low level of dueling."
"Low Level?" Kotori questions.
"It's my turn, Draw!" I called out drawing my card releasing a small burst of aura, "Trap activate Xyz Reborn!" I declared as the final card I had set on my first turn opened, "With this card I target an Xyz Monster in my GY and Special Summon it, Revive Rise Falcon!" I called out as the GY Portal Opened and Rise Falcon Emerged, "Then Xyz Reborn becomes an Overlay Unit for that monster. (RR - Rise Falcon/Rank 4/100 ATK/OLU: 1)
"Bringing out that monster with 100 ATK, Even if you manage to raise it's ATK with its effect, I'll only take 100 Points of Damage." Anna says dismissively.
"Rise Falcon's Monster effect, By Detaching an Overlay Unit, It gains the ATK of your Special Summoned monsters." I said as Rise Falcon absorbed it's Overlay Unit and drained Energy from both of Anna's Xyz Monsters.
"What's going on?" Anna asks, confused.
"I see now, Rise Falcon takes the ATK power of ALL the opponent's Special Summoned monsters, not just one of them, meaning the more the opponent has the stronger it gets." Astral observes as Rise Falcon lets out a screech and catches in a blaze. (RR - Rise Falcon: 100 + 3000 + 3200: 6300 ATK)
"6-6300 Attack, It's even higher than Rocket Arrows" Anna says in shock.
"Rise Falcon can attack all of my opponent's Special Summoned Monsters once each." I said.
"What?!" Anna says in shock.
"BATTLE!" I cried out my eyes narrowing, "Go Raidraptor's Rise Falcon, Rend and Tear all our Enemies!" I ordered as Rise Falcon charged forth, "Brave Claw Revolution!"
Gustav Max was destroyed as Anna was sent flying back with a scream.(Anna:3000 - 0) (Kiryu: WIN)
"He did it, Kiryu Won!" Yuma cheered.
"He managed to beat a Number, Kiryu may be as strong of an opponent as Kaito." Astral mused to himself.
I looked down at my Duel Disk when an alert began to ping, seeing the prompted, I curiously poked it as the scan feature popped open.
"What?" I was surprised as the feature tried to locate something, I moved it around until moving it over Anna seemed to catch onto something.
I held it there for a few moments before the scan seemed to lock onto something on Anna and another prompt showed up.
"Capture?" I muttered curiously as I tapped it.
The Duel Disk unleashed a bright purple light that I immediately recognized.
"Ohshitohshitohshitcrapcrapcrap." I cuss out in panic as the light envelops Anna, when it dies down Anna is completely fine.
"Whew, That almost gave me a heart attack." I muttered before something ejected out of my Duel Disk.
"What's that?" Yuma asks, coming up beside me.
I Plucked out the card and held it up, It was Number 81, so the Human Sealing Technology of Shun's Duel Disk was turned into my method of Capturing Numbers.
I winced as the Number began to glow, releasing its Miasma into me.
"Kiryu!" Kotori says in worry.
Suddenly on my right hand a glowing crest of the Raidraptor symbol appeared and behind me only noticeable to me the Spirit of Rise Falcon appeared letting out a powerful screech as the effect of the Number died off.
"That was a rush." I muttered, slipping the Number Card into my Deck Box and walking up to Anna.
"I… lost?" Anna mutters, removing her D-Gazer, "Damn it!" she says, slamming her fists into the ground in frustration.
"You okay, Ann-Chan?" I asked her, holding out my hand to help her up.
"Idiot, I keep saying not to call me that." Anna says, looking up at me slightly teary eyed but without any real bite in her voice as she takes my hand and I help her up.
She dusts herself off and smirks, "You're not half bad Kiryu, you might even be better than cry baby here. She says pointing at Yuma.
"Crybaby?" Yuma asks, confused.
"I mean the time I took your card away!" Anna tells him.
I could practically see young Anna sitting in a tree holding a card, teasing, 'C'mon, if you want your card back, climb on up here!'
"You were crying non-stop since you didn't know how to climb a tree." Anna says.
"Are you sure this guy is the same one you're thinking about?" I asked Anna, "I mean he seems more like an idiot than an actual cry baby." I stated.
"Gee thanks Kiryu." Yuma deadpans before frowning, "Did I ever do that?" he asks.
"Wait, Wasn't that…" Kotori says in realization as the penny drops.
"Still Playing Dumb, Of course I wouldn't forget the boy I liked." Anna says to Yuma and I.
"I am not, If I don't remember it, I don't remember it!" Yuma protests.
"Um, this may not be the best time to say this but…" Kotori tries to say.
Anna growls at Kotori in frustration.
"Isn't the boy you like, Yuya Tsukune, not Yuma?" Kotori asks.
"Huh?" Anna questions.
"Yuya Tsukune?" Yuma questions, "Ah, now I remember that guy he always cried like a little baby in the teachers office."
"AHH!" Anna yells out in realization before realizing Yuma Kotori and Astral were staring at her,
I put my hand on Anna's Shoulder,"Give her a break guys, I mean your names are very similar so it's an easy mistake to make." I say trying to defuse the tension.
Anna brushes away my hand, "In any case, I'll spare you this time." she says walking over to her Cannon, "And K-Kiryu." she stutters out.
"Yeah." I asked her a bit curious why she was calling out to me.
"I lost the duel, so in agreement of the terms of our bet I'll go on a date with you." Anna says looking around flustered.
I could tell he was a bit uncomfortable with the idea, "It's okay, I wasn't too serious about the idea, it was more of a joke ante." I told her.
I heard Anna mutter something under her breath, It sort of sounded like Baka but I wasn't sure as she began to take off.
"Oi, Hold it, Where's the Heart Piece?!" Yuma calls out.
"Heart Piece?" Anna asks, looking back confused.
"Kiryu won so you gotta leave that behind." Yuma says.
"Yuma, did we ever say this was a WDC Duel?" I asked him.
"Huh?" Yuma says confused.
"What are you talking about?" Anna Asks.
"Didn't you come here to participate in the Duel Carnival?" Yuma asks, confused.
"Why would I participate in that?" Anna asks in a huff in the first place.
"Then why didn't you say so in the first place." Yuma says in a huff, "Geez what a troubling girl!"
I smirked, "Maybe, but it does make her kind of cute and quirky."
"But I did think it was a little strange." Kotori says slyly, "No one would ever like Yuma." she says teasingly.
"Huh, what was that?!" Yuma snaps.
"But it is a bit of a shame, I really want to see that unique dueling again." Astral says.
"Forget that girl, I never wanna see her again!" Yuma huffs out
I smiled, "She really was an interesting and unique opponent, I'm sure one day she will become even stronger and we'll have a great rematch." I said wistfully as off in the distance I could faintly hear Anna screaming, "I'll remember this, Kiryu Kurosaki!"
I gave a mental smirk, Capture Target Anna Kozuki progress was successful.
