Chapter 40- Forced Marriage and the Tower
Diana sat listlessly in the chair as the Soldier kissed her down the side of her face and then to her lips. The kisses and electroshock therapy had continued for almost two weeks. While the shocks still hurt, the blue drugs had stopped hurting. Granted, the drugs still formed bruises on her arms, but she didn't feel them any more. Between the shocks and pumping the blue drugs into her arms, the Soldier was ordered to continue kissing her until she agreed to be his wife. Diana didn't want to marry him, but his kisses was making it hard to say no. Also his lips were constantly on hers and she couldn't say no or wanted to. "All you have to do is say you'll marry me. be mine," the Soldier said softly as he kissed her ear.
"I'm already yours," Diana whispered softly as he pushed gently on her hair slightly covering the ear he was concentrating his kisses on.
Diana felt helpless tears come to her eyes as he gently took her ear between his teeth and nipped and kissed it. She didn't love him, but, oh, she loved him! She wanted to say yes, but she didn't want to say yes. It was getting easier to accept his kisses and kiss him back. She wondered if that was what Karpov wanted. "Say yes, doll," the Soldier ordered before pressing his lips to hers and then went in a line from her lips to her ear and back to her lips. She then found herself nodding as his mouth caressed her mouth gently and then went to her earlobe in a slow, caressing kiss.
"Yes," Diana whispered softly as tears threatened to come again. She had no choice. The Winter Soldier had been ordered to make her his wife and she had no choice but to marry him and bear a child. Diana wondered how long until she got pregnant. Women in her family were physically healthy and could have babies and the HYDRA doctors had examined her and said she was able to carry a child. The actual pain in childbearing and the cold, unfeeling HYDRA doctors made her shiver, but the shivers stopped as the Soldier undid the straps holding her to the chair and pressed her to his chest. She found herself wondering when the wedding was going to take place as the Soldier rested his chin on top of her head and stroked her hair as he kissed the top of her head. The Soldier acted as if he couldn't breathe unless his lips were on hers or kissing her neck and ear.
"Soldat, we are going to get the priest. You will marry her now," the soldier who had told her what was expected of her when she arrived said and left the room before the Soldier or Diana could say anything.
"What?" Diana asked sluggishly as she rested her head against his flesh shoulder and felt his flesh fingers twist into her tangled hair. The Soldier raised her face to meet his beautiful slate-blue eyes.
"You agreed to marry me, doll. You are going to carry a child for me and if you want to live, you will obey me. Understand?" The Soldier asked, punctuating a each word with a kiss to her mouth and ear. This ear had to be his favorite ear. Too many times he would catch this ear between his teeth and nip and kiss it at the same time. He gently bit her earlobe at this moment and then pressed his lips to it, whispering his love for her between kisses.
"I understand, my love," Diana said as she decided to be bold and kiss him. She wrapped her arms around his broad torso and kissed his lips soundly as she dug her fingers into his soft dark hair after pulling his mouth from her ear. She decided then and there that she wanted to marry the Soldier at this moment and if he asked her to walk through fire for him she would as long as he would keep giving her earth-shattering kisses and she could play with his hair. She would gladly obey him. She then realized what she had called him. She called him her love and that made it true for her as she rubbed strands of his hair between her fingers.
"I love you," the Soldier whispered against her mouth and ear. He moved her hair that had fallen over her ears again and lightly trailed kisses on her ears, lips, and jawline.
"I love you too," Diana whispered as the priest and the handler came in.
Yelizaveta came awake and rubbed her eyes. She had fallen asleep on her father's chest, his metal arm wrapped around her thin shoulders. Yelizaveta looked over to see Bucky Barnes sound asleep and her mother, Diana asleep on the other side of him, his flesh arm around her shoulder. Yelizaveta rested her head back into his chest and started when she felt a kiss on her forehead. She looked up to see Bucky awake and a gentle, warm look in his blue eyes.
"Dad, shouldn't you be sleeping?" Yelizaveta asked.
"You first, Elizabeth," her father said.
"I think I have slept all I am going to," Yelizaveta said as he twisted his metal fingers into her dark hair.
"Good thing too, Liz. We're almost to New York," Steve said from the front seat.
"That's good. I wonder if the mess has been cleaned up yet from the battle two years ago," Yelizaveta said.
"From what Stark told Fury, the city has made progress," Steve said.
"That's good. Barton has made progress too. Loki messed with his head bad. That scepter had to be worse than a HYDRA weapon. All I could think when I fought him was that he was my friend who rescued me from a cold basement in the middle of a Moscow winter and fed me a funnel cake when he took me to the fair and popcorn at a baseball game," Yelizaveta said as tears came to her eyes.
"You've had funnel cake and popcorn?" Sam asked from the seat up front next to Steve.
"I'm Russian, but I'm not a barbarian," Yelizaveta said caustically.
"Actually you're not Russian," Bucky said.
"Well, I was born in Siberia, wasn't I?" Yelizaveta asked her father.
"Yes, you were, baby. HYDRA kidnapped me when the idea for breeding a Winter Soldier came to mind. But me and Dad are American," Diana said.
"Well, kind of worked. I am a Winter Soldier, right?" Yelizaveta said with a grin.
"She's not too far wrong, but you also look like your grandmother and aunt Rebecca too much to say that you are all-Russian, Liz. Or all-Winter Soldier," Steve said.
"So, what happened in New York two years ago?" Diana asked.
"Aliens tried to invade, Mama. A friend of ours came to help when his adopted brother went off the deep end and messed with my friend Clint Barton. Clint and Dr. Selvig used the tesseract to create a portal in space for an invasion. Fortunately I closed down the portal with Loki's staff that he used to scramble Clint's and Dr. Selvig's brains after the two of them got their senses back," Yelizaveta said.
"How'd you do that?" Sam asked.
"Jumped on Uncle Steve's shield and then jumped on a Chitauri's back to get a ride to Stark Tower. It's a good thing that heights don't really frighten me too much," Yelizaveta said.
"Yeah. She's amazing in a fight," Steve said.
"I've seen her fight, Stevie," Bucky said.
"So have I, Cap," Sam said.
"I haven't and I don't think I want to," Diana said.
"Yeah, well, not like S.H.I.E.L.D. and HYDRA gave me much of a choice in the matter. You didn't have one when you married Dad, did you?" Yelizaveta asked, rolling her eyes.
"Not really. I was a doctor in the Ukraine when HYDRA had your father kidnap me. They gave me all these drugs to make me compliant and electroshocked me until I agreed," Diana said.
"When was the last time they shocked you?" Sam asked.
"The day I agreed to marry James. They pumped some blue drug into me which James told me later that it was the serum that made him the Winter Soldier and shocked me for ten minutes. James told me later they had been doing that pattern for two weeks. I was tired of the shocks and serum, so I agreed. We were married as soon as I said yes," Diana said.
"I guess we can get Banner and Stark to take a look at your brains to see how much damage has been done," Steve said.
"Dr. Banner and Jimmy are there, but I don't think Dr. Banner is that kind of doctor. Jimmy texted me and told me that Stark was talking like a man in therapy to Banner. Banner tried to tell him that he wasn't that kind of doctor. He's not a head shrink. With his anger issues, he couldn't," Yelizaveta said.
"He's the Hulk, right?" Sam asked.
"Right. First time I met him and his son was in the Black Hole of Calcutta. He nearly hulked out on me and Natasha. We had to point our guns at him to get him to be normal," Yelizaveta said as they drove into the city.
"He told me he only did that to see what you and Nat would do," Steve said.
"Bad idea. No one wants to see me go all-Winter Soldier. Stark almost pushed me to do it. He was lucky Loki got sprung," Yelizaveta said.
The Stark tower was there before any of them knew it. "So this is it," Sam said as they drove into the garage under the building.
"Uncle Steve, did you call Stark and tell him we were coming?" Yelizaveta asked.
"While all of you were sleeping," Steve said as he parked.
"Khoroshiy, I mean good," Yelizaveta said as she opened the car door and they all got out.
"That's good in Russian?" Sam asked.
"Da, I mean yes," Yelizaveta said as Steve opened the trunk and he took out his shield, Sam took out his wings, Bucky took out his guns, knife, and uniform, and Yelizaveta took out her uniform, sword, guns, and knife.
"Has anyone ever told you that you are a walking weapons arsenal?" Sam asked.
"Not directly to my face, Sam," Yelizaveta said as they took the elevator to the floor that Tony Stark said was Steve's and Yelizaveta's.
Yelizaveta and everyone set their things down. "Jarvis, is Tony and Bruce in?" Yelizaveta asked the AI that ran Stark's tower.
"Yes, Agent Markova. Sir, Dr. Banner, and James Banner are in the lab," Jarvis said in his precise British voice.
"Who is that?" Bucky asked, the look on his face showing confusion.
"Stark's computer who runs the tower, pal. Jarvis, we need to see him and Dr. Banner, please," Steve said.
"I am telling them, Captain Rogers," Jarvis said and his voice cut out.
"I guess we sit and wait," Yelizaveta said as she sat down and Bucky sat next to her. Yelizaveta buried her face in his chest and was soon fast asleep.
