A tiny box and a sudden feeling of disarray jolted me awake. I took a moment to read the box, a couple notifications blotting out the blue screen. It was my second day in this world, and yet I had only now gotten these notifications. It was a class notification and a special skill notification. I had somehow been forced into the Ranger class. That would be a little annoying, considering this alien world was filled with creatures that had thicker hides than a tree.
[Class Unlocked: Ranger - Special Skill Awakened: Gates of Gilgamesh {i}]
The Gates of Gilgamesh special skill seemed interesting though, after reading the description. It was basically a creation skill for class based weaponry, and since I was a Ranger class now, I would be able to create and manipulate arrows. Currently as it was level one, it was just created after all... I could only create a single arrow. I thought about it for a second.

[Yondu's Arrow]
[A whistle-activated arrow.]
I gave a small smile as I let loose a whistle and it shot forward, off-angle and off-target. It was wildly inaccurate - but I would get better at controlling it. It was one of the most underrated non-infinity stone weaponry in the galaxy, after all. It was able to kill the entirety of the crew that betrayed Yondu in Vol. 2 of the Guardians of the Galaxy in seconds. I glanced away the whistling skill that the arrow gave me, focusing more on just lying down and controlling the arrow.
I wouldn't be able kill any of the monsters on this planet until I could control the arrow with the least bit of accuracy, I had scouted a little bit yesterday and found a weak looking one. It was still nearly 25 levels ahead of my current, level one. I briefly wondered how I would level up my special skill, deciding that I would figure it out later.
A small ding notified me of a level up in the whistling skill, and immediately my accuracy shot up as I watched my arrow hit in the general area I had wanted it to go, instead of in a completely random direction than before. I gave a light smile; the life of a Gamer is grinding after all. I would grind this skill for an entire day and then try and hunt a monster.
The day ended peacefully, and even the night went well as I slept. No interruptions, no notifications, nothing. But the morning... it was an absolute, godawful disaster. I woke up surrounded by 6 legged wolves. Now, necessarily, this isn't exactly an issue. The problem was their level. There was almost no way in hell I was getting out of this alive; four of the seven were above level 30 and the rest were around level 20. I was still at a solid level one. I would either die here...
No. Gamers' don't die, especially not in a scenario like this. I gave a light whistle as Yondu's arrow popped up stout and ready. My whistling skill only increased its accuracy by around 34%, it was level 14, but It should be enough. It had to be enough - a low growl from one of the wolves sent the small pack hurtling as I let loose a low, continuous whistle.
A single wolf was struck straight in the chest - but the arrow had gotten stuck. I was utterly fucked in this situation. The wolf collapsed, probably dead or dying, but I narrowly dodged a charge by one of the seven as the rest approached with a slow stalk. A notification popped up, notifying me I had hit level five and an increase of level in my special skill struck me as I quickly created a second arrow, an exact replica of the other Yondu's arrow I had created. It struck off course on the side of the wolf, but It went through.
The ground nearly shook as he fell - it had been one of the level thirty wolves, but he didn't die. I gazed around and let loose a whistle as a thought struck me. If that arrow pierced a level thirty wolf and went completely through, then... the skill level should correlate to the strength of the weapons, no? I spared a glance at the corpse of the wolf that my arrow was stuck in before.
Sure enough, it shot to attention and flew to my right side as the other flew to my left. I gave a wild grin; this would be easy now. I let loose a small tune, whistling, as my arrows danced around the wolves. They were dashing, jumping moving around desperately. The only thing saving them was my piss poor accuracy with the arrows... but one by one, they fell. I glanced at a notification mentioning a Wolf Fang Dagger and a special skill involving wolves, but ignored them.
The last wolf fell as I hit level 10. I brushed off my legs as the adrenaline began to wear off. I noticed that at level ten, I was granted a third level in my special skill, as well as the first level up for my new special skill.

I suppose I would have to go hunting now; Three arrows should be good enough to wipe out most of the creatures on this planet. The striking blow skill would help me kill anything the arrows themselves couldn't. I gave a light stretch before walking out of the clearing, straining my ears in an attempt to locate any creatures that would sneak up on me. This would be a long day.
