Chapter 2 : We're On Earth Bet

The three of them are trying to look for someone so they can ask for the direction of the hospital.

They are being quick because they can feel that the girl in their arms is going to die. She really needs medical attention.

When they got to the streets, they saw three guys on the distance. Those guys were wearing clothes with the majority of it's colors being green and red. They also look like Asian. Shiho thinks they are closer to being Chinese depending on their appearance.

They decided to ask those three where is the nearest hospital.

When they got closer to them, the three Chinese guys gawks at their appearance. It seems like they didn't expect that three beautiful girls will approach them.

Though when their eyes settled on the person that one of them is carrying, they suddenly tense up.

"Good evening. May I ask where is the nearest hospital?"

Xiaoyue is the one who initiated the conversation seeing that their Chinese. In her world, while their language is not Mandarin, they still speak those language. It's just more in an archaic way.

These three Chinese guys were a bit confused about her way of speaking though they immediately take that out of their mind and replies to her.

"Oh. You don't need to worry about her. Just throw that chick out of here." The guy says in dismissal. "You know, you should forget about that bitch. Why don't you come with us? We can welcome you in one of our hangouts." He continues while leering at them that makes them uncomfortable.

Yume and Shiho can't understand what they are talking about. It was because they were speaking on Mandarin. Well, the guy is speaking in Mandarin while Xiaoyue is speaking the old Chinese Language.

The two takes a bit to think about it before they did something. Yume seems to have activated something in her abilities which enables her to understand Chinese. It was also the case for Shiho, though hers makes her comprehend all human languages.

After that, they manage to understand what the two are conversing.

It seems like Xiaoyue is arguing with the three.

The three guys introduces themselves as a part of a local gang of this city, the Azn Bad Boys, or ABB in short. They seem to be telling them to join them and have some fun, being Asians like them. They also told them to leave this dying girl alone on the streets and just forget about her.

"You should just listen to us. You won't like it when we get angry." One of the gang member says in an irritated tone.

Yume seems to have activated another ability within her. She looks at them for a bit before her gaze turned cold.

"Chu... It seems like they are the one who did this to her." Yume interjected from their argument.

"Huh?" Xiaoyue take a glance at Yume as she process what she just heard.

"Trust me. I can read minds." Yume quickly gave her explanation in a calm tone.

"... Oh, you have an ability like that?" Shiho asks with a skeptical tone.

"Of course. Want me to tell you what you are thinking?"

"No." Shiho rejected in a swift manner.

Xiaoyue felt that she can trust Yume so she decided to believe her claims.

The three though thinks of doing something else.

"Woah! Your friend's a Parahuman?"

Xiaoyue and Shiho perks up when they heard him say that. They seem to be familiar with the term he uses awhile ago.

It was only Yume who was confused about it. Though she didn't ask about it because she can just read their minds and learn through it.

"... I see... now I understand where we are..." Shiho muttered to herself.

Xiaoyue has also understood. She also finally recognized who is the dying girl in Shiho's arms.

"Look here. You just let us go and we will not tattle on our Boss. You wouldn't want to clash with our gang." One of them says as they take a step back.

It seems like they don't want to fight a Parahuman.

Yume has also learned about the society of this world and what's different here.

"... As expected, this is not my Earth." Yume muttered in a somber tone.

"Right. It's not my Earth either." Shiho also stated with a bitter expression.

"Guess we are stuck on this world huh..." Even Xiaoyue said in resignation.

While Yume doesn't recognize what kind of world it is, she understood it by just the knowledge of these three gang members.

It seems like this world have some people who can use powers that they call as Parahumans. This Earth is known as the Earth Bet. There are other alternate versions of this world and this planet was stated to be the second variation of Earth.

The two others have some knowledge about this world though.

They are in the world of Worm. A Web Serial focusing on a teenager called Taylor Hebert. That person was supposed to be someone who have control over bugs.

Xiaoyue doesn't have a lot of knowledge about it other than the fandom. Only Shiho knew it fully, along with half of it's sequel. She didn't manage to finish it in her past life.

They both have the knowledge to how messed up is this world. This world is full of conspiracies and other unethical things in it.

They know who is the ringmaster of this whole dystopian-like setting. Though Xiaoyue doesn't know about what happens after taking care of the mastermind behind this, Shiho knows it.

Even without the mastermind, the thing that was responsible for the powers of these Parahumans will take action and cause a lot of things to go wrong. Shiho have read until the Cluster Trigger part, which is not that far on the beginning of the sequel of Worm.

Anyway, having just the knowledge on Worm is enough to learn how dangerous this is.

"... Can you take care of them?" Shiho asks her two companions.

She can't fight because she is carrying the person that was supposed to be the protagonist of this world. Shiho can see it from just the broken glasses and that beautiful hair that she have.

This one is Taylor Hebert. And it seems like she was beaten badly. It also seems like she doesn't have bug control.

'Maybe... her powers is this thing...?' Shiho thought while looking at the persistent message in her vision.

[Help Taylor]

It is still there and was repeatedly popping up in their visions regardless of them dismissing it.

'So this is not the canon timeline... we might have been ROB'ed because of Taylor!' Shiho thought with a frown.

While she was deep in her thoughts, Xiaoyue and Yume prepares to beat up this three.

Well, Yume will also join in but she stops and let Xiaoyue take care of the three.

"Well. It seems like you three are the cause of this poor girl's state. Let this Big Sister teach you life lessons!" Xiaoyue exclaimed before sprinting to get closer to them.

"Shit!" One of them cursed in English as they try to brandish some knives hidden within their pockets.

Though they were quickly disarmed by Xiaoyue's graceful movement. After disarming them, they were knocked out with just a single chop of their nape.

She did all of that in a moment.

Shiho is amazed to see a Cultivator in action. Yume is not that amazed and she have already predicted that she can do that.

"... So what next?" Xiaoyue asks.

"Hm. We can go to the nearest hospital." Yume said in a tone like it was natural.

Xiaoyue was going to say that they don't know where it is but Shiho quickly gave her a reassurance.

"Don't worry about it. I am sure Hanagami-san learned about it from those three with her mind reading ability."

"Ah... I understand." Xiaoyue nodded.

By the way, Xiaoyue have reverted back to speaking in Japanese. This is also the language that is using when she was with the others who stayed on the docks awhile ago so they can understand her.

They decided to leave these three unconscious on this street and go straight to the nearest hospital. It seems like it was somewhere on the Boardwalk.

While they are walking, they converse about the things that they learned about this world.

"We're in Worm." Shiho started.

"Right..." Xiaoyue nodded with a complicated look.

"Worm...?" Yume made a questioning tone though she quickly manage to understand it after taking a glance at the two of them. "... Oh..." She uttered in comprehension.

The two are a bit uncomfortable feeling Yume probing their minds though they decided to focus on the matter at hand first.

It seems like Yume managed to read through their emotions as she quickly hold herself back from reading further on their minds.

"Anyway. We are on Worm. Which means there are a lot of things in this world that will screw us all over. There is also that depressed Golden Guy floating all over the world and the three giant murder machines. Oh, we shouldn't forget about that organization." Shiho said to them.

"You forgot about the S Class Threats." Xiaoyue added.

"Right... the fucking S Class Threats." Shiho swore with an unamused expression.

They didn't expect her to suddenly speak in English like that. Though they decided not to ask about how she learned to swear like that.

Yume was trying not to read their minds though it seems like it was on Auto so anytime she glances at them, she can read their minds.

And reading a bit into it, she quickly learns about the existences that they are talking about.

"Oh..." Yume can only utter that in understanding.

"... Anyway, I am sure our powers are not Shard Based so we can no sell some Trumps out there." Shiho explains.

"What about Cau-"

"Don't say that!" Shiho quickly interrupted before Xiaoyue can say it.

Xiaoyue made a confused expression from her sudden interruption so Shiho decided to explain to her.

"We might get targeted if you say the name of their organization. Don't speak about it. You also need to keep yourself from saying the names of their members." Shiho warned with a serious expression.

Xiaoyue, and also Yume, just nodded at her warning seeing that she was very serious about it.

"Anyway. We need to learn more about each other. If we want to survive in this world." Shiho said and quickly started about herself. "I'll start. I have a Cheat Ability to buy Abilities. So if you give me time, I can strengthen myself to help you. What about you two?"

"Ah. I can Cultivate. I think you know that if you read some Xianxia novels." Xiaoyue started. "Other than that, I also have a Cheat Ability. It seems like I have a system where I can buy a lot of stuffs from the fictional worlds like manga, light novels, and games." She added before gesturing for Yume.

"Okay. We will be working together so might as well." Yume shrugs before explaining. "I have the power of all Touhou Characters."

""Huh!?""

The two stop in their tracks when they heard her claim.

They know Touhou. They played it in their past lives.

Characters from Touhou are ridiculously overpowered. They abilities that can affect not just the physical reality but even the metaphysical concepts and abstract things.

If her claim is true, then she might be the most strongest ally that they currently have.

"So that mind reading...?"

"Yes. It was from one of the Komeiji Sisters."

Hearing her admit it causes them to be a bit anxious around her.

Unlike their abilities, this person already have all the broken abilities from her cheat powers. Shiho and Xiaoyue needs time before they can strengthen themselves but Yume can easily use her powers without any limits for it.

Seeing them showing some awe and nervousness around her, Yume quickly clear up some things that they are misunderstanding.

"No. I can't use all of my powers. I need MP to do so." She admitted. "And before you ask, Satori's mind reading ability is passive. Which means it doesn't use MP." She elaborated.

"I see..."
"Okay..."

The two are satisfied with her admission.

Then they continue on their trek as they think about what to do next.

"So we need to defeat that golden guy. Then we need to take care of a lot of things in this world." Shiho mutters to herself.

"Huh? Why would I help this world?" Yume suddenly interjected.

"Hm? Isn't that obvious? We are stuck in this world. The only thing we can do is to deal with all the problems in here." Shiho explained while looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

"No. I'm not stuck here. I just need to level up until I have enough MP to escape from this world." Yume explained with a shrug of her shoulders.

"... Oh..." Shiho was a bit dumbfounded when she heard what she says.

"Right. So I think you shouldn't worry about it... arrrgg! This persistent message is getting on my nerves!" Yume spat in irritation.

It seems like when she declared her intention to escape this world, the persistent message in her vision became aggressively active. It is causing her to be annoyed and distressed about it.

"... It seems like we are also stuck taking care of Taylor." Shiho mutters with a sigh.

She manage to quickly deduce that not planning to help Taylor will cause the message to become annoying. It might not let them to sleep at all due to it's persistence.

"Ugh! Fine! I'll help!" Yume was finally fed up and resigned to her fate.

The continuous pop up in her vision finally relented and it became a single message once again. Yume is dissatisfied with it but she just hold back her own emotions.

"... By the way, how about the others. It seems like they can also see this message. Are they also being harassed by it?" Xiaoyue say out loud in wonder.

Going back to the five others.

"I can't focus!"

Aozora yelled in anger as she tries to take the message out of her vision.

The others were also experiencing that and they are increasingly becoming annoyed or stressed because of it.

Even Meer, who seems to be flying around without a care awhile ago, is currently distressed about this floating message in her vision. She even tries to use her Danmaku to take care of it though she was stopped by Austina after causing some damages on their surroundings.

Toujo and Ayumi are the only one not being bombarded by those messages. It might be their neutrality so they aren't being forced to help Taylor like the others.

Though they are still being urged to do it which is also distracting them from their thoughts.

'What should I do? I don't even know who are these people!' Ayumi is thinking like that to herself.

'Maybe we should've followed those three?' Toujo thought to herself.

Even with their own thoughts, they still decided to wait for the three. Though the persistent message is still there in their vision.

A/N

So to clarify, Yume activated Hong Meiling so she can understand Chinese.

As for Shiho, she bought the Tier 0 Ability, Language Comprehension I. So she can understand any human language, though it is still on it's starting level so she can only understand the basic forms of speeches from the languages that she doesn't know.

About the message thing, it was Taylor's ability in this fanfic. Originally, it was supposed to be an ability to order Yume and the others without being able to defy it. Though because of these eight people being strong on their own way, so the Queen Administrator overcharges itself.

That's why the message is the only thing it manages to put into those eight girls so they will obey Taylor.

The message will become annoying depending on how much they didn't want to help Taylor. Though if they are doing something that will benefit Taylor, the message won't annoy them.

That's the only thing I can say...

Now I wonder if I'll be able to put a new story next or continue this once again. I don't know about that.
