Hi. I've been reading stories on here for about two years, and since leaving College and starting work, I've been able to read some stories from here but hate it when a good idea is just stopped. This has encouraged me to start writing myself, due to this, I will finish any project I start, although it may take time, I generally prefer longer and detailed stories, although I will complete any I start...

My Top 10 Pokemon Characters:

1. Serena

Big shocker right, I am an amourshipper, so Serena is at the top of my favourite Pokemon characters list, but it isn’t so black and white. I want to tell you a story, going back to generation 5. I had tried the anime out but due to what I would hope would be obvious reasons, I didn’t like it. I tried out competitive battling even winning a couple local tournaments but due to certain players I lost interest in that also. I was ready to give up on Pokemon as a whole. But then a friend told me to try out the XY anime and that I wouldn’t be disappointed. I decided to give it a try, but I didn’t have high hopes for it. As I watched, I sort of attached to Serena for whatever reason and watching her grow, going through one of the best character arcs I’ve seen. In short, she saved my faith in Pokemon and I started my JOAPM series as her time came to an end. She is in short, the reason I am writing stories on this site and also still into Pokemon. I don’t like Serena because I am an amourshipper, I am an amourshipper because of my love for Serena.

2. Paul

On to arguably Ash’s greatest rival and that is exactly what I think of him as. Alain may be stronger, and Gary had a good rivalry with him, measuring their Pokeballs against each other but Paul is the one who pushed Ash, not just physically but also mentally. He is Ash’s complete opposite so each time he beat Ash, it made Ash evaluate if his morals were right. All adding up to one of the best battles in the Pokemon anime, to date. He maybe a jerk, but a needed one.

3. Hunter J

Yep, my third favourite character is Hunter J. She is a perfect villain and I was almost sad to see her demise back in Sinnoh. You knew that whenever she showed up, things got real. I mean, she was pretty easy to understand her motives, she wants money and will do anything to make it. A lot of villains from the movies have complicated back stories or are left vague to appear mysterious. Problem is, that is there only appearance so we don't get to explore them properly. Because of her simple motive, her mysterious past just made it that much intriguing. It made us think back and think did she cause some issues before? In short, she was the first villain to be properly feared who was actually competent in the series and it's amazing that she only appeared in the anime out of all the mediums she could've appeared in.

4. Brock

Who doesn’t like Brock? Seriously, other than Pikachu he is the companion to travel with Ash for the longest time. Whether looking after Pokemon, being pulled away from a pretty girl or giving out useful information on the topic at hand, I think everyone has many fond memories of him. What else can I say? He is just awesome.

5. Ash

What is there to say about Ash? He is probably the most inconsistent, ridiculous and dense trainer in the whole Pokemon world. Part of me didn’t want to put him in the list because quite simply he is a completely different character depending on the season but in the end, I couldn’t leave him out and because I was so undecided on where to put him, I left him right in the middle, because sometimes he can be great and near the top like in Sinnoh and Kalos while sometimes he is terrible and not even on the list, like in Unova or Alola.

6. Meowth

While I was trying to avoid Pokemon from this list as I already have my top ten Pokemon listed here, but in all honesty, I don’t see Meowth (the talking one from Team Rocket) to be a Pokemon as much as I see him as an actual character. He is my favourite of the trio for a few reasons, to begin with he is implied to be the smartest and I love the dynamic which comes along with that, plus he always seems to make me smile, even when not meaning to. Even in some of the worst series, I can guarantee that Meowth would be a light in a dark tunnel.

7. Miette

Okay, your probably wondering, if Serena is my number one character, how could I put Miette anywhere on the rest of this list. Well, to put it simply, I like Miette as I think she is secretly an amourshipper. Hear me out, in her debut episode, she didn’t show any interest in Ash until that sly whisper to Serena. My head canon is, she doesn’t care for Ash (in that way) but acted like she did because she was ‘motivating’ Serena into making a move. Plus, in every other interaction, she focused on Serena more, when implying ‘confessing’ to Ash rather than showing actual signs of attractions towards him. This makes her a much deeper character then first appearances which I really like.

8. May

Well it took this long for another ‘Poke girl’ to appear… And May is the last one to appear. I am honestly not a massive fan of many of the Poke girls but May caught my interest. I was happy to see Misty go after Johto as I honestly found her annoying for several reasons so seeing May appear and be her opposite in many ways felt like a breath of fresh air. Plus, May was the start of the travelling companions having goals to actually compete for which added another sense of reality to the series in my opinion.

9. Sawyer

Time for Max 2.0… I mean Sawyer. Okay, in all honesty, when I first saw him, I genuinely believed he was Max from the Hoenn series but grown up as a trainer. I thought this would’ve been really awesome and I don’t think they would’ve had to even change Sawyer’s character that much to make it real. But even if my head canon isn’t right, Sawyer still proved to be awesome as he was kind of like how Ash was when against Gary, Paul or even Alain. Being the underdog and we kind of watched him grow up to that final battle with Ash, again resulting in a great battle and one of the best battles in the whole series.

10. Harley

Why is Harley on my list? Well, because it is my list and he always put a smile on my face whenever he appeared, even if normally for the wrong reasons, so that is why. I look forward to writing him in Hoenn.

Top 10 Pokemon:

1. Heracross: Super cool, strong and awesome bug type. Also, when I first played Emerald (my first pokemon game), I reached the Elite Four I had five battle pokemon, and a zigzagoon at Lv 3. I got beat badly by Sidney and decided to replace Zigzagoon, after searching for a sixth pokemon I found Heracross and thought it looked cool. I tried to grind it up to the rest of my team, but it was 10 levels below everyone else. He swept the entier Elite Four, except for Drake's Salamence where he put up a good fight. In short, I've used many in my time and it has never failed me (but I don't like his mega evolution, just didn't need it).

2. Sceptile: My first starter and just looks awesome and is great in battle. Plus Ash's Sceptile is my favourite of his pokemon.

3. Metagross: Giant metal titan and pseudo legendary.

4. Crobat: An amazing, super fast and awesome poison bat.

5. Volcarona: A sun deity reincarnated as an atlas moth... That is how you do an awesome fire type Charizard... (I seriously can't stand that stupid fire lizard)

6. Rhyperior: Took a stupid looking pokemon like Rhydon, and turned him awesome with an evolution, that is why I love gen 4.

7. Hydreigon: Super powerful dragon with cool design.

8. Donphan: A guilty pleasure which I can't explain my love for this pokemon.

9. Sableye: A cheeky little prankster who is just adorable.

10. Walrein: The first pokemon I ever saw, near the end of the battle: Ash VS Katie in the hoenn league. Basically I entered the room and my sis was watching that episode. It was love at first sight, and when I used one in Emerald, I loved it even more. If you don't like it... Just, Spheal with it... (Sorry, I just love puns).

Honorable Mentions: Absol, Salamence, Skarmory, Excadrill, Lucario, Noivern, Greninja, Snivy, Tyranitar, Umbreon, Rowlet, Aerodactyl

Top Ten favourite legendary Pokemon:

As for how I judge these Pokemon, I look for three main aspects (in no particular order): the design, story / back story and competitive battle. Some might advance in one area more than others but each one will be good in 'at least' one of these. A guest in a review asked for my favourite legendary Pokemon so here is my list:

1. Rayquaza

Do I even need to explain this one? I don't think so, its Rayquaza, amazing design, awesome story role as the part of the weather trio to be a boss and stop the other two, not to mention protect the Earth from the ozone layer. And when in battle, it is the most powerful Pokemon, considering it has a mega evolution without needing a mega stone. It is so strong it has its own tier in competitive battle. Need I say more?

2. Suicune

Elegant, mystical, awesome design and arguably the best of the beasts in battle (yes, they are beasts, not dogs, it really triggers me when people call them dogs and not beasts)

3. Darkrai

I love this Pokemon but I don't think I could ever do it justice so I would recommend and go and watch Fawful's Minions explaination of why he loves Darkrai in his top 100 favourite Pokemon (10 - 1) as he says everything I would want to say and more. While I do have others I place higher than it, I can't disagree with any of his points.

4. Mew

Its adorable... What? I like adorable things.

5. Virizion

My favourite of the swords of justice, simply because of her design, elegant like Suicune

6. Landorus (Therian form)

This Pokemon pretty much made a new definition for competitive battle all by itself, respect

7. Eon Twins

Don't make me choose, I love both of these and for pretty much the same reason. They have an elegant design and are both decent in competitive battle but my true reason for loving them is the movie Pokemon hero's. There was a reason I chose that movie to adapt for the JOAPM series, it is easily in my top 3 Pokemon movies.

8. Tapu Koko

This is one Pokemon I like but I can't really explain why, I would call it a guilty pleasure but is there anything guilty about it? I don't think so.

9. Ho-Oh

Yeah, even if Power of One is my favourite Pokemon movie, I still prefer Ho-Oh over Lugia. Despite its not so defensive typing, it has got a special role as a decent special wall in competitive battle, also has an awesome story in both the anime as the legend Ash saw on his first day as a trainer, not to mention what happened in the burnt tower with the beasts. Although my true love Ho-Oh grew when I read the fic Ashes of the Past, it is a long fan fiction but an awesome one and I love Ho-Oh in that series.

10. Mewtwo

While I don't think of it as highly as some others do, hence it only just making the list, I can't deny that it has a great back story and is awesome in battle. While I am not a massive fan of its design, which is what does hold it down here for me but design is only a small part of one's appeal for me. Still awesome though.

My Stories:

Journey of a Pokemon Master: This is a re telling of Ash's Pokemon Journey, re told in my image (a combination of the anime, games and my own idea's), and is an amourshipping story. I will be doing it for: Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Kanto's Battle Frontier, Sinnoh, Unova (missing the Declor Islands as that was basically filler), Kalos and Alola (which will be very different to the games and anime). If this seems similar to another fan fiction, it's because I was heavily inspired by the now discontinued series, Road to be a Pokemon Master story by FanaticLAguy06. I will also split it up to one project per region, Orange Islands and Battle Frontier having there own projects as well. Also, Ash will have as many of his cannon pokemon as possible (there is only one I am not using as I have my reasons which I'll mention at the time, but he will still be on someone's team, same with one of Misty's pokemon). Also I will try and keep the pokemon used limited to the said region.

The cannon in question are Ash's Krabby / Kingler which I gave to Misty, since other then the first Indigo League battle, I can't remember it doing anything significant, and it's replacement I have some BIG plans for. Misty got Krabby as she seemed the best fit, and as a result, I gave Serena, Misty's Horsea, since I want Serena to have a dragon type, and other then Kingdra, the soonest one would be Hoenn... Plus, Horsea is a sweet pokemon and I feel fits Serena better then Misty...

Serena in Sinnoh: A series starting with the Wallace Cup from the diamond and pearl anime, where Serena reunites with Ash, who has been searching for her over his entier journey. I plan for this to continue until the end of Sinnoh, as a second story, then a final one where Ash and Serena travel to Kalos. Note, this also shows one sided advance shipping in the first book. Important note: This series is currently on a hiatus due to writers block, I haven't given up on it but I don't know when I will return to it.
