You may be asking "Hey why are you posting such a short chapter?", well the short answer is: life sure fucking sucks.

The long answer would be:

Yeah im probably not gonna be able to write for a while so I might aswell post this half of a chapter,

why? well life stuff, what? Did you expect a full detailed thesis on my personal stuff?

how long can I not post? At best, probably half a month or so, at worst? probably fucking never. Yup.

By the way I may have forgotten to mention this but my fic will have some AU aspects.

And to the guy who said that I should post the remaining parts of the last chapter because "you never know when you can", you deserve an Oscar for predicting the future.

"Jaune!" Blake's cat ears twitched at the sudden yell by the orange-haired girl a few feet from where she sat.

"What do you mean by 'It's just Combat Class'!?" The girl… Nora Valkyrie did an attempt at imitating the voice of the blonde huma-… Jaune at the words supposedly said by him, she seemed to be mad at Jaune's indifference to the class by how she emphasised the word "just".

"Do you realize how important it is!?" Nora was ignorant, or maybe just didn't care about how the other students in the cafeteria stared at her, then confirming the thought by how she slammed the wooden lunch table, causing cracks to appear in it as Blake's ears only twitched again because of the sound.

"Alright I'll hear you out just quiet down! Some students are staring…" Oh thank god,

Nora fortunately complied as she sat down while Jaune sighed in relief, "But I still don't get it, it's just a way for students to be forced to fight each other."

"Don't you mean, 'another way for you to get thrashed around'?" A new voice joined in, most students in the group of two teams sounded a 'huh?' while Blake -and Weiss- recognized it.

"Shirou? you're sure late… -and you're with her." Weiss Schnee said as she saw the two people at the front of the lunch table, Shirou Schnee and Ruby Rose.

"Hey Weiss." the crimson-headed girl, for some reason, said in a lower pitch than her usual high pitched and childlike voice.

"Hey Ruby." her partner responded in a seemingly reluctant way.

Did the two have a fight or something?

It was only a natural conclusion, the younger Schnee had yelled some harsh words at Ruby Rose during the previous class and stormed out of the lecture hall while Ruby chased after her.

The Schnee had already apologised to Yang Xiao Long and Blake once she met with the two teams in the cafeteria, so it was clear that she's probably solved her dilemma.

And with the fact that Shirou Schnee was with Ruby, the faunus only came up with a run-down of what probably happened. So he's a great mediator too, huh?

"Oh hey Rube's! Did'ya two finish your dat-" Yang tried to sneak in a little tease before stopping as she felt the murderous filled glare at her person, getting a slight shiver as she saw its owner being the Schnee sitting across her.

Ruby sat next to her sister while Shirou did the same with his.

"Hey are we forgetting that he just insulted me again!?" Jaune Arc spoke up in a yell that only made Shirou shrug.

"Yes that was a little harsh…" Pyrrha Nikos said, he could be seen scoffing, which the blonde only responded in what seemed to be an attempt at a glare while she only continued in her words.

"-But Jaune, Combat Class isn't like that, think of it Ike this, it's just another way for us students to gain more experience."

"Well excluding you since you're the Pyrrha Nikos." Weiss said while enunciating her name, Pyrrha could only respond in a dry laugh while scratching the back of her neck.

"Alright I'll try to-"

"Gross! how the hell did an animal get into Bacon!?" A voice suddenly interrupted. Blake instinctively reached for the top of her head to check if her bow had unknowingly untied itself…

Her heart calmed down once she felt the fiber rub against her hand, then reaching for the tie to tighten it even more.

Wait, then who-?

"Must've scuttled it's way into here. Conniving piece of trash, as expected for a faunus." she tried her best to not stand up and yell as she saw the view of four humans surrounding a rabbit faunus.

Cardin Winchester… She recognized him as one of the leaders of the first year teams, and those three with him must be his teammates in Team CRDN.

Her breath started to fasten as she saw one of the aspiring huntsmen reach for the defenseless girl's bunny ears, and her fists tightened at every moment, she wanted to just stand up and beat the living hell out of them but…

She couldn't,

Even if it's a small possibility she couldn't risk her true identity as a faunus come out, she tried her best to get away from that group and she couldn't be found again, and even if she didn't: to her personal view of the world, being a person known to defend faunus during this era was a death wish to one's reputation. Even if it had already been 80 years since the faunus revolution, racism and bias against them was still strong, partly thanks to the current state of the White Fang.

Even to Shirou Schnee she heard some rather negative rumours about him while walking the halls, her cat ears's advanced senses were useful but it sometimes had its downfalls and being able to hear what she didn't want to know was one of them.

"Hey guys." Blake heard the "leader" say in a hushed voice to his three companions.

"I'm gonna 'trip' and fall on her." he had a scummy grin as he gestured to the lunch tray on his hands as the three only tried their best to not hold back their laughter.

"…"

Blake's vision reddened and only focused on the sight as Cardin slightly distanced himself from the bunny faunus.

She was a coward.

The phrase repeated itself on her head as she continued to sit still.

Cardin started walking towards the girl, then slightly raising the tray.

"Hey." A new voice became apparent right before he could do it, Cardin turned to the source behind him-

-Only to be found at the other side of the cafeteria in the next half second, being embedded in the concrete with a newly formed crater in it.

"What the he-"

"If any of you bastards touch her again, your aura won't save you next time." murderous intent filled the entire cafeteria, enough that even Emiya narrowed his eyes at the young woman.

The three could only shiver in fear as they saw the figure of another student, mostly wearing black and brown clothing, a beret sat on her dark brown hair, Coco Adel, a popular fourth year at Beacon.

Two members of her equally well known team, CFVY, were behind her, glaring at the three as if they were pieces of trash, the fourth member being the rabbit faunus that was being harrased, the menacing girl's arm was still held up from punching the supposed huntsman.

"Velvet, come here." The phrase was said in a lighter tone instead of the voice composed of murderous-intent used on the now-fleeing team.

"Velvet Scarlatina, sit down." Coco Adel said in a commanding voice while the girl obediently followed, sitting on the floor in front of her.

"Oh, Uhm.. Yes?" The faunus now known as Velvet Scarlatina responded in a shy manner.

"Even if you aren't the original third member of Team CFVY, we trust you the same way we trusted him." the young woman said those last words in a lamenting manner, while the two behind her seemed to look downcast at the reminder of something.

"-so we expect that same level of trust from you, so whenever some douchebags are doing this to you again, please, you can expect us to help when you ask, even if you don't want to!" she reached out to her teammate that now had a visible glimmer in her eyes.

"Geez why are you doing this out here?" Velvet took her hand and was helped up, a visible glimmer in her eyes were visible as Coco Adel and the two behind her started to walk away, the young woman motioned the girl to follow, "Eh, who cares."

"Mrs. Adel." They were stopped by a blonde woman, standing in a composed manner, the same woman that 'saved' Shirou and Ruby from those two fire dust shards that night, Glynda Goodwitch.

"Yeah yeah, 2 days detention right?" the young woman replied in a nonchalant way.

"Once you've returned from your mission, yes, I suppose I can be lenient this time." The team continued walking with an added sigh by its leader.

Once the team left, the teacher only sighed as she began fixing the cratered wall with her telepathic-based semblance.

"So uhh… That happened." Yang Xiao Long's voice was the only thing heard in the silent cafeteria.
