Chapter 42: No More Pirates

Asuka got as far as she did as a captain because she knew how to pick and choose her battles. Her canonical hot-blooded nature was something she grinded out of herself. When she was ever so glad this given she was facing off against a pirate crew made of Reis. She crossed swords with the captain, and she had to admit that this Rei was good with a blade.

"You claim to be a Langley, but you fight like a Shikinami." Captain Rei said blocking her punch. "Don't think I didn't see that in your fighting style."

Asuka leapt back.

"I was a Langley, but I ended up in a Shikinami's body." Asuka mused.

"Hold up, that's impossible."

Naoko (she was really a Rei who adopted Naoko Akagi's name and similar elements of her appearance) said this to get Asuka's attention.

"If that was the case, you'd have the muscle memory, but not the moves. And your warper energy was clearly still if that was the case. No doubt you've been a Shikinami from birth." Naoko said as Asuka looked confused.

"But that's…how…" Asuka stammered.

Naoko got out a device scanning Asuka's body before looking at the data.

"I had a feeling. Your mind's been tampered with." Naoko said as both sides had stopped fighting.

Though Jaune used that to sneak one last punch to Cinder's jaw.

Fu was glad she had not exactly left for home just yet. Asuka looked mortified…her sword slipping out of her hand. Her crewmates all looked at their captain.

"I can't exactly pin the details, but whoever messed with your mind had to removed memories and planted a few false ones." Naoko said putting the device away. "Most likely, you're one of the Shikinamis captured by Rendo Nexus and cut loose to make a distraction. Can you remember your family? Your past?"

Asuka thought hard, but it was all faded and blurry. She tried to picture it, but there was no complete picture. She went white in that she could not remember when she even became a warper.

"However, it seems they did not put any means of controlling you through King's App or anything else. No doubt to allow for deniability." Naoko said.

"And how do we you're not bullshitting us?" Bando asked.

"Because we've seen it before." Sailor Rei said with a grim look. "We just left dealing with two Shikinamis courtesy of RN. While our doc isn't 100% sure, it's very likely your captain was used, discarded, and cut loose. Does she even have a reason to be here of all places?"

Asuka fell to her knees breathing heavily, sweat pooling, and shaking. She felt sick to her stomach, but Captain Rei aided her up.

"Well, this is awkward…" Captain Rei said.

"Don't make it more awkward." Captain Asuka said with her hands still clammy.

"Seeing that calm, I'll take my leave." Fu said before taking flight.

"With this reveal, where do we go from here?" Ginyu asked.

"I want answers. RN took away my past, and I want answers." C. Asuka said angrily before turning to Rei. "I want to propose an alliance. Name your price, but I want your help."

"An alliance? That will make waves. Asukas and Reis never get along, but fuck it. Some norms are meant to be broken." Captain Rei said shaking Asuka's hand. "Victims of cloning need to stick together."

"Ah wait, I have to work with Cinder!" Jaune complained. "But…"

"We get it, she killed Pyrrha. No one really cares." Sailor Rei said. "We have bigger issues."

Captain Asuka took up her sword and gave the order. The Crimson Wind Pirates were leaving the planet with the Blue Lilith Pirates.

As a side effect of being a container for the Tailed Beast, her aura around her had insectoid wings as she flew through the skies. Coming closer to the Leaf Village, she was beyond excited. WHAM! She flew right into Naruto, who shot up in the skies the moment he sensed she was near.

"Hey Fu, welcome home." Naruto said as they landed on the ground.

"Naruto, I'm surprised with the eagerness. You had plenty to keep you company." Fu remarked.

"I know, but you're apart of that company." Naruto said gently. "Where's the pirates?"

"Leaving with those other pirates that were giving you trouble." Fu said as they headed home. "So, what's changed since I left? Aside from us grow like weeds."

"I have a daughter, Saya." Naruto said. "Temari's her mom."

"She's got to be adorable, but I do have some things I need to let you know. About RN." Fu said worriedly.

"Right, we can talk over lunch." Naruto said.

Naruto was just glad to have the family all over for a meal and was about to take a bite when he got interrupted by Tsunade.

"Kami damn it, woman! I just sat down!" Naruto said.

"Naruto, I need you for a mission." Tsunade said. "I need you to go to go hunt down a rouge ninja and kill her."

"So why can't anyone else do it?" Naruto asked.

"Because, you little shit, I have jobs for the others teams to handle this missing-nin's allies. Here's what you need to know." Tsunade said tossing him a folder. "She's an S-ranked threat."

He leafed through it and had a flat look at her.

"S-ranked, huh? No, let me tell you something. If this threat isn't a warper, than it's not worth S-rank. Is she a warper?" Naruto said as he bit into his food.

"No…" Tsunade said.

"Secondly, in canon she was taking licks from Kakashi, you, and…Sakura. She is not an S-ranked threat. She is a high B, low A-rank at best. Secondly, why is only now she's make moves?" Naruto said as he finished his meal. "Eh, screw it. Not like it matters once I killed her. I'll get ready."

Naruto went upstairs to get his things and came with his gear before putting on the Fox mask.

"Naruto, while I understand you're annoyed, I needed you because you're the right person for the job." Tsunade touted.

"Fair enough, just know when I'm Hokage, I'll make you my go-to woman for missions. I'll given focus on revitalizing your body so you have no excuse to go on dangerous missions whenever I need you." Naruto sassed. "Who knows? Maybe you'll still be a Christmas Cake."

He dodged a punch.

"I did see Shizune is dating Iruka." Naruto said as Tsunade grabbed him by his collar.

"Hey Naruto, I know you think you're all that and a bowl of ramen, but let me remind of you of why I'm Hokage." Tsunade said as she glowed bulking slightly.

She dragged Naruto and reared him back before throwing him into the sky with a resounding sonic boom. Tsunade returned to normal getting stares from the shocked villagers and ninja.

"He's lucky I didn't punch him into the sky." Tsunade said before facing his family. "Any objections?"

"Show me how to do that!" Saya said excitedly.

"Aren't you worried about your dad?" Star asked.

"Nah, he'll be fine." Saya said nonchalantly.

"I don't know if that's a good thing she's chill about that." Hinata said as Temari shook her head.

"For Tsunade's sake, he better be." Temari said.

Naruto screamed bloody murder as he was sent assailing across the skies. He had frantically stuffed the intel in his jacket. He got a sense of Tsunade's power, and he made note to save the snark for when she stepped down from Kage. He could live much longer for me.

(A/N: Apologies for taking so long. I was on the lurch for schoolwork and working on other series. With RWBYverse is Infinite being much successful, and certain other fics being more fun for me to write, I ended up putting this and FusionFall Infinite on the wayside. It's sad really for FFI as I have a story to tell, but little audience.)
