Chapter 29: A journey's end

Hey everyone this is it the final chapter of the journey, I know this chapter isn't as long at recents ones have been but felt it didn't need to be, but don't worry there will be an epilogue chapter for those men and women of culture hahaha!

But I'd like to thank each and every one of you, from casual readers to fans of the story and of the Kismet Universe as a whole, you guys are just awesome and I am grateful and honored to have been able to brought you a story worth your time and worthy of entertaining you. It has been a long and stressful journey from the writer's block I had to having multiple family members and loved ones pass away this story has helped me cope with dealing with the loss.

This story has also been of great help of focusing my anger and as you can imagine this story has been a passion of mine for five or six years now, it's crazy now that I think about it.

After the Epilogue I will return to working on Jeanne a quest to redeem War and after finishing that up I will finally begin my next big project in the Kismet universe, the Legends of Nosgoth.

But enough of the feels time for the finale of this long running story, I hope you'll enjoy it.

Eden

Malphas was seen walking alongside her daughter Cereza as they walked through a garden beneath a massive Tree that had a strange misty aura giving it a mysterious appearance as Cereza asked "Has the Tree of Knowledge granted you any more knowledge since I left?"

Malphas smirked and responded "It has granted me a vision of the future, your brother will attempt to murder the two of us."

Cereza grunted in shock and questioned "But… why? He's never had such intentions or vile behavior before!"

Malphas and Cereza continued to walk as Malphas explained "Your brother has been deceived by Omne and now worships him as the god he is. His desire to find meaning in his life caught the attention of one of Omne's most dangerous lieutenants and he has ordered him to kill us both."

Cereza sighed and questioned "Perhaps we can reason with Raven, he is my brother and your son."

Malphas sighed in a disappointed tone and responded with a melancholic tone "You do not understand Cereza, Raven has for years been molded into a warrior of Omne in secrecy, a fact I sadly only discovered recently through the Tree of Knowledge, it knows that Raven is going to strike soon and fears that without me it will be vulnerable."

Cereza eyed her mother in disbelief as she questioned "How did he managed to get into contact with Omne?"

Malphas sighed in a guilty tone "You brother many times snuck out of our home to see the cosmos for himself and I believed it was healthy for him to see it for himself and learn."

Cereza sighed and rubbed her face in frustration while saying in a quiet tone "Damn it… and he must've stumbled onto one of Omne's goons or Omne himself."

Raven dropped down behind the two women as Malphas turned her head back and greeted "So you've finally were given a task by your master?"

Raven squinted at Malphas in disgust while Cereza turned back facing her older brother and eyed the Heavenly sword as Raven stated "Omne commands that you die for father's sins!"

Malphas slid her hands into her sleeves and offered "As you say, but wouldn't it be more appealing to not only gain an audience with Omne but to also earn his favor?"

Raven squinted in a suspicious manner and responded "And what do you propose would gain me such a favor in my lord's eyes?"

Malphas turned around completely and stated "The Location of the mighty Fortress of Doom, where the Doom Slayer resides."

Raven widened his eyes hearing of the Slayer and demanded "Give me the location Malphas!"

Malphas raised a brow and demanded "Spare myself and your sister and the location is yours."

Raven eyed Cereza and tightened his grip around the hilt of the Heavenly Blade and responded in a spiteful tone "Very well…"

Malphas removed her hand and opened a portal and stated "The Fortress is with the World of Ormagodden, the Brutal Lands, look towards the icy regions there you will find the Slayer and his fortress."

Raven scowled and walked through as Malphas closed it behind him as Cereza asked "Will he return?"

Malphas shook her head and explained the Tree has strengthened the barrier within this pocket dimension, he will not be able to return to the nest he was born."

The Well of Souls

Legend of Spyro Eternal night ost: The Well of Souls

Absalom angrily and wildly was seen slamming his axe down at Death who flipped over the axe evading Absalom's attacks before Absalom roared in fury "ROOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

Absalom using his heavily mutated armored arm punched Death in midair knocking Death into the cosmic barrier making close his eyes and cried out in pain "AAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHH!"

Bayonetta beat her fists onto the cosmic barrier desperately trying to help Death who was seen weakly standing up as Absalom's eyes glowed yellow in anger as he stomped closer towards the Horseman.

STOMP STOMP STOMP

Absalom raised his axe as his face darkened while only his eyes glowed giving an intimidating appearance as Death dived rolled between Absalom's opened legs and slashed his ankle making him growl in pain.

Absalom retaliated by using one of his back tentacles to impale Death's left forearm making him cry out in pain "RAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!"

Absalom tore his tentacle out of Death's arm who panted heavily as the older brother turned around and grabbed Death by the waist and with surprising speeds for his size began to charge around the barrier dragging Death against it. Death's body formed burns from the barrier's power as Absalom stopped in front of Bayonetta causing her to halt her attack on the barrier as Absalom began to sadistically slam Death against the barrier in front of her.

Absalom continued to slam Death against the barrier right in front of Bayonetta over and over to the horror of the witch until Death summoned his reaper fists to repeatedly punch Absalom's face causing him to choke slam Death onto the floor and stomped on his chest creating a large crater. Death was seen coughing up blood beneath his mask as Absalom raised his fist over him preparing to beat down on him but Death's reaper fists once again formed and punched him away giving Death enough time to get up onto his feet.

Death weakly stood up and held onto his scythes as he dispersed his reaper firsts as Absalom was seen with a bloody lip and nose as he spat out a tooth and blood before snarling in anger. Death magically formed an electrical barrier over his body as Absalom cracked his jaw before charging towards Death who leaped out at Absalom who backhanded the Horseman aside but the strike electrocuted his hand making him hiss from the pain.

Death landed on his feet and quickly stood up and pulled out Redemption and began to fire rapidly at Absalom breaking away small chunks of his Corruption crystal armor around his arm and shoulder. Death holstered his handgun and summoned three ghouls that wildly sprinted towards Absalom on all fours and struck at Absalom's legs as he snarled in both anger and annoyance before stomping on one of the undead before Death leaped onto his back.

Absalom wildly shook his whole body trying to shake Death off while Death was seen violently stabbing his scythes into Absalom's back while the remaining ghouls struck at his legs. Absalom roared in anger as the tentacles on his back swiped Death off his back before slamming his fist down the two remaining ghouls killing them instantly before turning back towards Death with a snarl.

Death squinted at Absalom who extended his tentacle and coiled it around the hilt of his axe before throwing the axe at Death who dived rolled out of the way evading the attack. Absalom's tentacle pulled the axe back towards himself who caught the axe in midair as the tentacle whipped down onto the floor cracking it before Death summoned a murder of ice crows that pecked and struck their talons across Absalom's face.

Absalom swiped his hands and tentacles trying to keep the crows from attacking his face that he could keep his attention on Death who teleported in front of him and swung his scythe upwards cutting Absalom's chest and part of his chin. Absalom cried out in pain as he fell onto one knee while closing his eyes panting heavily as Death wasted no time to take the opportunity to attack him as he clamped his scythes together and reeled the large scythe back.

But Absalom slowly opened his eyes and formed a sadistic grin before slamming his fist down in front of Death causing a shockwave that flung Death back from the sheer force alone. But Absalom extended his tentacle and coiled it arpund Death's leg and pulled him towards himself and batted the Rider away with the flat side of his axe knocking Death away and watched him bounce like a ragdoll before he weakly tried to stand up.

Absalom roared at Death as he grew in size while his muscles and veins violently reacted as Death stood up and panted heavily in exhaustion as Absalom slammed the pummel of his axe onto the floor causing a huge shockwave knocking him into the barrier burning his back. Absalom grinned sinisterly as Death stood up and quickly turned into his Reaper form as Absalom took a battle stance before the two brothers charged at each-other clashing blades and exchanging punches with their free hands.

The brutal beat down between Absalom and Death continued on as Bayonetta was seen tirelessly trying to break the barrier down with her fists that were now getting burned from the barrier's power. Bayonetta eyed her eyes panting heavily in desperation as Death punched Absalom's face and dislocated his jaw while Absalom retaliated by kicking Death's ribcage knocking him away from Absalom who used his free hand to snap his jaw back in place.

Absalom growled in anger as Death twirled his scythe around before throwing it at Absalom who used his axe to deflect it but Death teleported near his scythe and caught in midair before fluidly swung his blade with precise and fast strikes chipping away Absalom's crystalline armor. Absalom swung his axe at Death with fast strikes and would often change where he would strike while Death would use his blade to block Absalom's attacks keeping up with Absalom's quick attacks.

Absalom quick grabbed Death by his hooded head and slammed the Rider's head straight into his knee dazing Death momentarily before Absalom coiled his back tentacle around his axe and released his hand from it before tackling Death onto the floor.

Absalom began to brutally beat his fists down on Death's ribcage and head as he shouted "ALL I'VE EVER DONE WAS FOR THE SAKE OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS, WE DESERVED A HOME, WE DID NOT DESERVE TO BE FORSAKENED BY THE OTHER RACES!"

Death remained silent as Absalom violently began to head-butt Death's masked face repeatedly before Death teleported behind Absalom causing him to erupt into flames making him roar out in anger before turning towards Death growling in fury while still on fire. The two brothers charged at one another once again as Absalom swung his axe horizontally at Death who leaped over the attack and swiped one of his scythes across Absalom's face leaving a cut across his nose.

Death landed behind Absalom who growled in anger before his tentacle whipped back and broke Death's left arm making him cry out in pain "YRAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHH!"

Absalom turned around as Death eyed his left arm and sheathed the scythe in his right hand, summoning his salvation cannon before quickly turning back and fired a single blast at Absalom breaking most of the crystalline armor off his body. Absalom growled as Death fired a barrage of blasts from his cannon as Absalom attempted to use his axe as a means for cover as there was no other means for such.

Absalom's axe proved to block any fatale blasts from Death's cannon but his arms, shoulders and shins were hit multiple times leaving burning wounds as Death noticed before halting his attack. Absalom's axe glowed a hot orange red as it smoked before he stood up and growled in anger before limping in a fast paced towards Death while Death charged at Absalom while unsheathing his scythe.

Death with blinding speeds slashed Absalom's leg making him drop onto one knee as Death teleported in front of Absalom and swung his blade upwards impaling Absalom's chest and gouging out one of the three eyes in his chest making growl in pain. Absalom swung his axe at Death in near immediate reaction to Death who rolled over the blade and leaped into the as Absalom reached out his hand attempting to grab him.

But Death fell back down evading Absalom's hand and impaled his blade into Absalom's chest making him roar in pain before Death kicked himself off of Absalom with a backflip and landed a few feet away from Absalom who was seen shrinking back down to his normal size while roaring wildly in a bestial manner. One of Absalom's back tentacle struck into the floor as it quickly dug through the stone and erupted beneath Death coiling around him and kept him constrained.

Absalom quickly limped his way towards Death and grabbed him by the waist as his back tentacle recoiled and retracted back into his body as he violently and wildly began to slam Death onto the floor with enough force to leave small craters with pools of Death's blood in them. Absalom kept slamming Death around into the floor with savage intend as he finally tossed his seemingly unconscious body aside leaving a trail of blood as Death struggled to get up but fell back face first onto the floor.

Bayonetta slammed his fists onto the barrier and shouted desperately "NO! DON'T YOU LAY ANOTHER HAND ON HIM!"

Absalom panted heavily as he eyed Bayonetta and responded coldly "Wait your turn witch!"

Bayonetta froze mildly intimidated by Absalom as Death weakly pushed himself onto his feet and struggled to keep himself up and coldly warned with a serious yet subdued threatening tone "Don't threaten her Absalom, don't you dare!"

Absalom turned towards Death and growled in annoyance and shouted in a desperate and furious tone "WHY WON'T YOU JUST DIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE?!"

Death took a battle stance and responded simply "You of all people should know Absalom, I don't die so easily…"

Absalom snarled in anger before slamming his axe down at Death who dived out of the way before pulling out Redemption and shot Absalom in the face blowing out one of his eyes making him cry out in pain "GRYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH!"

Death kept pointing his gun at Absalom who quickly backhanded the gun out of Death's hand and pinned him down as he quickly impaled the pummel of his axe through Death's chest making him grunt in pain.

Bayonetta bashed the barrier once more screaming desperately "NOOOOOOOOOO!"

Absalom slowly stood up and ripped his axe out of Death who panted heavily in pain but summoned his reaper fists to shove Absalom away a few feet as Death held onto his wound and eyed the blood on his hand before slowly getting back up onto his feet. Death pulled out a health potion and poured it over his body which healed the wound and kept himself from bleeding out but he remained weakened from being impaled as he panted heavily in a strained and painful pace.

Absalom roared at Death and charged at Death whose sight was getting hazy but was still able to see Absalom clearly enough to fight a bit longer but waited for the last moment for Absalom to swing his axe. When Absalom did swing his axe death quickly turned into his reaper form and deflected the attack with his scythe and sliced off Absalom's armored arm making him roar in pain.

Death hovered a few feet away and changed back into his normal form as Absalom stumbled onto his remaining hand and eyed his bleeding wound as he looked at Death and roared angrily before getting up and charged at Death once more. Death threw his scythe at Absalom and impaled it into Absalom's remaining arm's shoulder time seemingly slowed as Death quickly leaped over Absalom's body grabbing the scythe's hilt in midair and tore it out of his body.

The resulting act of Death tearing his scythe out of Absalom's arm left it barely hanging onto his body as he stumbled onto the floor but used his hand to keep him up. But the pressure caused Absalom great pain as he gritted his teeth before pushing himself off the floor and turned towards Death who impaled his scythe through his neck and into his chest cavity.

Absalom widened his eyes as he gasp in pain before Death let the scythe slip through his fingers allowing Absalom to fall onto his back as the barrier dispersed while Death panted heavily in exhaustion while Bayonetta ran across the platform and pulled Death into a protective embrace.

Bayonetta's eyes formed tears before she released Death from his embrace to only slap him across his face and shook her head saying "You damn fool… don't scare me like that again!"

Death groaned weakly Bayonetta pulled him into another tight loving hug as Absalom coughed up his own black tainted blood as he taunted "Such… a strong bond you two share…"

Death limped his way towards Absalom who eyed him but formed an defeated expression as he reached his hand out to Death and demanded in a somber tone "Take my hand once more… brother…"

Death formed a saddened expression in his eyes as he remembered back to the final battle for Eden at the end of the Nephilim war, Death had defeated Absalom impaling his scythe through where his heart was and where his future corrupted form's three eyes would be.

Absalom fell back as a pool of his own blood formed as he reached out his hand towards Death saying in a weakly tone "Brother…"

Death formed a regretful expression in his eyes as he quickly grabbed Absalom's hand but his blood turned black from Corruption and slowly swallowed Absalom as he hand slipped through Death's and had vanished. In present day Death silently reached down towards Absalom, however his hand reached passed Absalom's hand and grabbed the hilt of his scythe and tore it through Absalom's throat killing him for a second time.

The Death oath now completed, Death's healing powers were now restored and had already begun to heal his wounds as he limped towards the edge of the platform looking down at the swirling vortex of souls below.

Bayonetta followed as Death sighed and said "I've killed Absalom… robbed Oblivio of two of his champions… and now we stand at the Well (looks up and with a pained laughing tone) with nohohoho idea what I must do next!"

Crowfather appeared next to Death and stated "It is quite simple… yet most difficult."

Death looked at Crowfather and responded with a tired tone "I'm in no mood for riddles Crowfather…"

Crowfather reminded while pointing at Death "You have the power to tap into the Well and return mankind to life, or you could resurrect the Nephilim… (holds up his index finger) But know that choosing one… will forever doom the other."

Death sighed while shaking his head and closing his eyes before looking at the shattered amulet imbedded in his chest and responded "My brother War… I would protect him from the Council's wrath…"

Crowfather placed his hand on Death's shoulder and reminded "To return man to the living requires a sacrifice…"

Death looked down before Bayonetta questioned "But… there must be another way right?! Another means to save War and Jeanne and sparing you as well?"

Death turned back towards Bayonetta and responded with a saddened tone "If you have a better idea, I am listening…"

Bayonetta opened her mouth but was unable to come up with another solution and sighed while lowering her head in shame and rubbed her face with both her hands in frustration.

Death had a sympathetic expression in his eyes as he requested "I would like to… ask to kiss you one last time…"

Bayonetta removed her hands as tears ran down her face and nodded as she summoned the blindfold but Death grabbed her hands and said "No… that's not necessary this time…"

Bayonetta eyed Death in shock as he pulled the blindfold out of her hands and dropped it away before placing his right hand over his mask and slowly pulled it off his face revealing it to Bayonetta for the first time. Bayonetta widened her eyes in both shock and awe as Death's face was rather handsome and youthful in appearance, with no signs of aging or scaring were seen on his face.

Bayonetta gently caressed Death's cheek as Death caressed the side of her face until Bayonetta pulled Death's face close while simultaneously Death pulled Bayonetta by the waist closer to him as they locked lips and passionately kissed.

The Deadly Duo had prolonged their kiss for a few moments before releasing their lips as Death requested "Would you do me the honors and bringing Alice here?"

Bayonetta whispered in a understanding tone "I understand, mind opening a portal for me?"

Death nodded before raising his hand and opened a portal into Rodin's bar as Bayonetta quickly kissed Death again before walking through the portal and entered the bar as Rodin saw and asked "You're back already?"

Bayonetta walked passed and responded "Death wants to see Alice before…"

Rodin closed his eyes and responded "I see.."

Enzo was seen in his jar as he responded with a empathetic tone "Poor guy…"

Bayonetta walked down the hall to the bedrooms and knocked on the door to Rosa and Balder's room as Rosa's voice was heard "Come in!"

Bayonetta entered the room seeing Balder playfully tickling Alice as Rosa sat up from sitting on the bed and hurried to Bayonetta and asked "Is it finished?"

Bayonetta frowned in a saddened manner and responded "Not yet… Death asked that he see our daughter one last time before he commits to the sacrifice."

Rosa closed her eyes in a empathic manner and nodded while responding "I understand… (turns towards Balder with a loving smile) Balder, love hand the grandchild back to our Cereza!"

Balder groaned lowly as he stood up and lifted Alice and handed her over to Bayonetta and instructed "Keep her safe."

Bayonetta smirked and responded confidently "I know daddy."

Later Bayonetta carrying Alice returned to the Well of Souls where Death was seen overlooking the Well with his shroud removed and in his right hand while Crowfather was seen by his side as Alice looked around the chamber in awe and wonder as Bayonetta approached Death. Death turned back towards Bayonetta and Alice as Alice comically stared in a distrustful glare towards Death who raised a brow in confusion from the glare of his daughter.

Bayonetta also noticed Alice's stare and giggled in amusement and suggested "Perhaps hold the mask over your face for her?"

Death formed a half smirk on his face while scoffing in amusement before holding is mask near his face as Alice instantly recognized and understood who Death was and reached out to him happily and screeching happily in delight.

Death put his mask down on the floor and held up Alice in his hand and allowed her to playfully grab locks of his hair as Bayonetta smiled softly and lovingly as Death gently laid his forehead against Alice's and instructed "Keep your mother out of trouble and busy for me will you little one? She does get bored easily."

Bayonetta rolled her eyes in amusement while keeping her soft smile before Death handed Alice back to Bayonetta while Alice formed a confusion expression as Death looked down and picked his mask off the ground and eyed it as he said "It is strange… I have worn this for countless eons long enough to consider it as my face and now the day I remove it I am to sacrifice myself…"

Bayonetta formed a saddened expression as she pointed at Death's shroud "What will you do with that?"

Death eyed his shroud and responded while handing it towards Bayonetta "Not sure…"

Bayonetta held out her free hand while using her other to hold up Alice as she requested "Mind if I keep that?"

Death raised a brow and quested in a mildly playful tone "For what reason?"

Bayonetta smirked and teased "Cause it might look cute on me love."

Death shook his head in amusement before handing over his shroud to Bayonetta along with his mask and requested "Hold onto this for me."

Bayonetta formed a surprised expression as she reached her hand that held onto the shroud out and took the mask responding saddened tone "Of course…"

Crowfather formed a remorseful expression as he interrupted "Horseman… it is time."

Death inhaled and rubbed Alice's head and laid his forehead against Bayonetta's and said "My heart will always belong to you… Cereza."

Bayonetta grunted to hearing Death call her by her real name as she was speechless while Death walked away and stepped on the edge of the platform as the souls within his chest all whispered frantically and incoherently all desperately trying to talk Death into resurrecting them.

But Death thought to himself "No, the crusade is over… it is time for Humanity to take our place and reclaim their home…"

Death willingly fell forward into the Well as Bayonetta began to have tears run down her face and hugged Alice who formed a saddened expression while reaching out one hand towards where Death was last seen and cried at his absence.

Crowfather sighed and walked towards Absalom's body and eyed it before casting a fiery spell and began to burn the body as Bayonetta questioned "What are you doing?"

Crowfather explained while keeping his palms up and burned Absalom's body "Ensuring Oblivio won't resurrect him a second time."

Crowfather reduced Absalom's body to smoldering ash as the Well of souls glowed brightly from Death's sacrifice as it shook the entire chamber before billions of souls of Humanity erupted from the vortex below while a portal tore open allowing the souls the flow through.

Bayonetta and Crowfather looked upon the portal as the souls of Humanity poured through while Bayonetta asked "Where are they going?"

Crowfather explained "Nosgoth, to fulfill Loki's plan of having the Humans that be prepared for their quest to reclaim their world if they so desired."

Bayonetta watched as all the souls poured through the portal before it closed and looked at the Crowfather and questioned "What should I do now Cheshire?"

Crowfather turned towards Bayonetta and responded "You have your own choices to make in such matters, but Death had already planned for such an event didn't he?"

Bayonetta remembered Death speaking to his skeleton butler Vlad and responded "He did leave us a place to stay and a butler with specific orders to serve the needs of myself and Alice…"

Crowfather opened a portal back to Rodin's bar and responded with a soft smile "And now you can finally have a long break from the hardships of the cosmos…"

Bayonetta and Crowfather walked through the portal as it closed behind them while unbeknownst to them the Arbiter of Terror was seen hiding behind one of the large roots of the Tree climbed out as Oblivio telepathically heard what Crowfather said. The Arbiter leaped out onto the platform and held out his arm as it snapped itself off from his body as he turned towards the exit of the Well and flew out while his arm morphed and formed into a Corruption Spawn that formed a sinister grin.

The Arbiter exited from within the Tree of Death and decided to remove the Angel and Demon Keys forcing the doors to magically shut as Oblivio was heard speaking telepathically "Now I must deal with the only one who can enter the Well freely, but such a being is under the control of Lucifer… I will require time to find a chance in killing the Archangel, Azrael… return to me my Arbiter there is much work to be done."

With Bayonetta and Crowfather who both had returned to Rodin's bar where Rosa, Balder and Juliet were seen waiting as Rosa noticed Bayonetta carrying Death's mask and shroud before asking in a sincere tone "Did he…?"

Bayonetta inhaled before responding simply with a saddened expression "Yes…"

Balder walked towards Bayonetta and placed his hand on her shoulder comforting her "I know your pain my dear sweet child…"

Bayonetta closed her eyes and shook her head lightly stating "I'm tired daddy… so tired and in need of a break away from… (gestures towards the portal) all that goes on in the universe."

Juliet sighed and asked "You don't mind if I tag alone, I'm in need of a break as well."

Rodin entered the bar overhearing the conversation and stated "You two need time to heal and grieve, I understand. I can get you all to any world you desire, just name the realm and I can…"

Crowfather held out his hand and interrupted by stating "We will be going to Death's abode he had already made plans for his undead servants to also serve Bayonetta."

Nosgoth (With Fury)

Fury was seen standing next to Kain as he and Vorador were planning out a means to counter the threat of the Hylden while the sigil kept hooked onto her belt began to glow a ghastly blue catching her attention.

Fury tore off the sigil and grunted in surprise as she reported "Kain… the time has come, Humans will be resurrected upon Nosgoth soon!"

Kain turned towards Fury and questioned "How much time do we have?"

Fury eyed the sigil as it began to flash rapidly as she quickly hurried out towards the exist stating in a quick tone "RIGHT NOW!"

Fury hurried out of the building and held up the sigil as the souls of humanity rained down onto the land as the sigil glowed a white bright light as it created bodies of flesh and bones for the souls to inhabit.

Kain, Vorador and Raziel walked out of the building and stared in awe at the billions of humans forming in front of them as Kain admitted "Incredible… the amount of humans that died from the Demon invasion are staggering to behold."

Within the spirit realm within the domain of Omne, the realm was vast with mountains that when compared to any other realm were far and beyond the mountains of lesser realms. Vlad placed his hand upon his chest and bowed responding in a respectful tone "As you command milady."

Vlad walked out of the room and closed the door behind him allowing Bayonetta to approach the baby crib and laid down a sleeping Alice as he walked away and sat down in the chair and sighed in frustration while looking at Death's mask and shroud before dropping them on the floor to remove her glasses.

Bayonetta rubbed her eyes with her thumb and index finger and rubbed her face before a tear dropped down onto her leg as Bayonetta laid back in the chair and formed a depressed expression and covered her mouth and silently said "Oh damn it all…"

Bayonetta sniffled as tears ran down her face as she tried desperately to hold back her cries before finally letting herself just cry, mourning the passing of Death Bayonetta leaned back in her chair and had a struggling depressed expression while looking up towards the ceiling. Bayonetta shook her head from her own sadness as she sighed with tears running down her face before sitting up and picked the mask and shroud off the floor before standing up.

Bayonetta walked over towards the bed to place both the mask and shroud on one of the bed side tables before she took off her nun outfit before climbing into bed naked, placing the covers over herself Bayonetta laid her face in her pillow began to cry loudly into it trying to reduce the sound of her cries. Bayonetta continued to cry into her pillow for nearly an hour until she finally began to seemingly calm down before removing her face from her pillow and flipped it over as she laid her head down and sighed in a depressed tone.

Hours later Bayonetta was awakened by the sounds of Alice crying as she quickly shot herself up into a sitting position and summoned her guns pointing towards Alice's crib's general direction panting heavily while the baby's cries continued.

Bayonetta slowed her pants as she dispersed her guns and climbed out of bed and walked towards Alice and picked her up and spoke with a reassuring tone "Hey it's ok, (cradles Alice in her arms) I know, I know I miss daddy too."

Alice sniffled slowly calming at the sound of her mother's voice as Bayonetta said "Shhhhhshhhhshhhh… It's ok… it's ok… mummy's here… I'm here…"

Alice calmed down more as Bayonetta began to sing "Fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars, let me see what Spring is like, on Jupiter and Mars, in other words, hold my hand, (Alice grabs Bayonetta's hand) in other words, darling kiss me, fill my heart with song, and let me sing forever more, you are all I long for, (Alice yawns cutely) all I worship and adore, in other words, please be true, in other words, (kisses a sleeping Alice) I love you…"

Bayonetta gently put Alice back down into her crib and pulled the blanket over Alice and whispered in a loving tone "Sleep well little one."

Bayonetta walked back towards her bed and laid back down and quickly fell back to sleep purely tired from the recent events.

Three years later

Bayonetta woke up in her bed and looked at the empty space and had a look of longing and gently caressed the empty space on the bed as the door burst open as a young girl with raven black hair that was left wild and unattended and wearing a black gothic dress formed a happy smile and said with a childlike voice and had a happy tone "Good morning mummy!"

Bayonetta groaned before sitting up keeping her breasts covered and responded with a soft smile "Good morning little one did you sleep well?"

Alice leaped onto Bayonetta's bed and responded simply "Yes."

Alice reached her hands out towards Bayonetta who held out one hand for Alice to playfully pull on her fingers and hand as Bayonetta responded with a loving smile "That's good to hear baby-girl."

Alice rolled around on the bed wildly as Bayonetta sighed in mild yet enduring annoyance towards her daughter as she ordered "Alice sit up!"

Alice obeyed and sat up as Bayonetta's hair extended and formed a see through night gown while she wore black set of lingerie as she pulled out a hairbrush from the drawer of her bed table and began to brush Alice's hair.

Bayonetta continued to brush Alice's hair and asked "Are you looking forward to your witch training today?"

Alice nodded and responded simply "Yes."

Bayonetta smiled softly and responded "Glad to hear it, I'm sure your grandmum will enjoy it as well."

Bayonetta put Alice's hair into a ponytail and said "Alright all done."

Alice turned back and tackled at Bayonetta into a tight hug as Bayonetta returned the hug and said "Thank you Alice."

Alice responded with a genuine and innocent tone "Love you mummy."

Bayonetta smiled lovingly before responding "Mummy loves you too."

Hours later Bayonetta was seen walking through a hall still in her night gown and lingerie as she was reading through a book passing by the Witch bodyguards as she asked without even looking "Anything to report ladies?"

One of the witches responded "Yeah Vlad was looking for you earlier, he said the outer guards reported intruders."

Bayonetta closed her book and handed it to one of the witches and asked "Mind putting this in my room for me, (witches nods and takes the book) when you're done have the Clan be at high alert we have to take this threat seriously."

The two witches nodded and said in unison "Yes ma'am."

The two witches ran off as Bayonetta's hair extended further and formed her fully body suit and hurried out of the castle and saw Vlad standing at the ramparts overlooking the horizon as Bayonetta leaped onto the ramparts next to him.

Bayonetta looked over the horizon seeing a dust cloud as she questioned "Haven't had intruders before could it be Lilith or Oblivio?"

Vlad shook his head and responded "No, but my scouts did report that they saw the remaining Horsemen riding our way."

Bayonetta grunted in surprise before asking "Are they confirmed?"

Vlad gestured his hand out towards the dust cloud and said "See for yourself."

Bayonetta eyed the dust cloud and ordered "I'm going to meet them outside the gate, and see for myself."

Bayonetta leaped off the ramparts and strutted towards the gate and waited patiently with her arms crossed but it did not take long as the riders had reached the gate as Bayonetta recognized the riders from her visions and smirked teasing "Well it's about damn time I met you three!"

War was seen scoffing in amusement as Jeanne was seen dismounting revealing herself to have been behind War as Bayonetta uncrossed her arms and said with a shock tone "Jeane?! Where the hell have you been you naughty girl?!"

Jeanne approached Bayonetta and the two hugged each-other for a long period of time as Jeanne teased "What can I saw, the old Crow sent me ahead of you."

Bayonetta chuckled in amusement as she eyed the three Horsemen and said "And I see you've brought company."

Fury smirked and questioned "This is the woman our brother fell for? I'm not sure if you good enough for him."

Bayonetta released Jeanne and dared with a confident smirk "Get off your horse and I'll give you a proper demonstration Fury."

Fury formed an impressed smile and responded "Oh yeah you're definitely ballsy enough to have stolen Death's cold heart hahaha!"

Strife shook his head and quietly joked "Yeah great another crazy lady to deal with."

Bayonetta scoffed and retorted in a playful tone "Says the infamous loud mouth of the four, who if I understand my history correctly had to swim in a pool of water, and Demon intestines!"

Strife trembled in disgust of the thought and responded "Ooooooh don't remind me!"

Bayonetta eyed War who simply bowed his head silently in respecr before riding his horse Ruin passed Bayonetta revealing a familiar phantom steed, Despair causing Bayonetta to grunt in shock before looking up to see Death riding his horse as his hair fluttered in the wind.

Death dismounted as Bayonetta slowly approached Death before the two were face to face as Bayonetta quickly slapped his face as Death responded in a casual tone "Well hello to you too love."

Bayonetta had a deeply confused expression and shook her head and apologized "I'm sorry I just thought you were an illusion… how did you…"

Death interrupted while placing his hands on his hips "Survive? We have War and Jeanne to thank for that."

Bayonetta turned towards War and Jeanne as she stated "It's a complicated story, one I can explain later of course."

Bayonetta turned back towards death who gently caressed the side of her face and asked "How long has it been for you?"

Bayonetta placed her hand over Death's and began to form tears and answered "Three years… it's been three years…"

Death closed his eyes and questioned "And how has Alice been?"

Bayonetta sighed and responded "She's been good, she's grown a bit since you last saw her…"

Death opened his eyes and stated "Then I have lost time to make up for."

Bayonetta raised an index finger and said "Of course but you know… I have been in need of a kiss… and more I think we can…"

Death pulled Bayonetta into a passionate kiss surprising her but she closed her eyes lovingly before he released his lips from her own as he stated "You talk too much."

Bayonetta blushed with a smirk and teased "You would know, love… you would know."
