A/N This might be my first dark AU (maybe). You see about two years ago I had a dream which I thought might be a good idea. Here's the idea I came up, is about the Loud siblings coming back from the dead with no memory, except for their first and last name. The rest will be shown in the coming chapters. So yeah anyway, I'm here making a dark fanfic hopefully. I know I'm not good making dark stories. But at least give this a try. Hope you all enjoy this chapter. I might chance it from a T to Rated M if necessary.
Chapter 1: Reawakening
As the sunrises over the horizon of Royal Woods the light shines through a crack of the close blinds. The light rays shine onto a bed with blues sheets. Soon, the alarm clock struck 7:00 AM it gave out a few beeps (BEEP, BEEP, BEEP…) There's movement under the covered as the individual moving around "Moan…" A black hand reaches out trying to turn off the wretched noise. Swaying its arm around it finally found the clock as it presses the snooze button, shutting it up. The individual went back to sleep; however, it didn't last for long "ANNABELLE! IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP!" Shouted from an older woman voice.
The individual groan as it sat up, revealing a young 11-year-old girl named Annabelle McBride or Anne for short. She has dark skin, dark hair stopped shoulder length, she also was white streak of hair as the left side while it covered her left eye. She's also wearing a purple with black-stripes pajamas. As she stepped out of bed, she walked out from her room and into the bathroom, she looked at herself as she stares at her reflection. Her hair is a little messy, nothing but a good brush could fix "Ow! Damnit, I hate when my hair gets knotted. It hurts like hell." She manages to brush her hair as the same voice from before shouts to the bathroom "ANNABELLE…!" before she could finish her sentence "I'M ALREADY UP MOM! GEEZ!" Anne shouted back.
Some moments pass Anne came downstairs already change into her clothes. The clothes she wears is navy-blue shirt with short red-sleeves with a green circle with navy-blue at the middle. She wears shorts and a black-and-white sock legging while wearing black and purple tennis shoes with some white, she also wears a purple clip in her hair to reveal her left eye. Anne enters the kitchen to see her mother Haiku cooking breakfast and her 8-year-old brother Carlos McBride. Carlos has the same skin and hair color as her, he's wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans, and white shoes. He has three freckles on his cheeks, his hairstyle resembles like their dad. Anne took a seat next to her little brother while he plays his video game on his console. Haiku put down the plate with scramble eggs, bacon, and toasts with butter in front of Anne. She looked to see an empty chair across of her, Anne looked at her mom.
"Hey Mom, where's Dad? Is he still in bed?" Anne asks her mother as Haiku looked at her oldest daughter "No, your father left earlier. He stayed up all night till one in the morning on an old case he been working on." Haiku told the pre-teen as she took a bite of her egg, giving an annoying groan "Again? Doesn't he ever give it a rest?" as she took a sip from her glass of orange juice.
"Anne, you know how important your father work is." Haiku explained to her daughter as Anne interrupt her "I know, I know, you don't need to tell me. What is it he was working on anyway?" Anne asks her mother as she took a deep breath "Sigh, that same old missing case." Haiku face look grim a bit before Carlos looked from his game to look at his mom "What old missing case?" Carlos asked.
Haiku look at her son with a sad look but smiled a little as she gently rubbed Carlos's head "It's not important, sweety. Hurry up and finish your breakfast. Don't want you two miss school." Said Haiku sitting down.
Anne sighed sadly, she often misses hanging out with her dad. But ever since another body was found last week, she barely ever sees him. But she's not going to let it bum her out. Because tonight she has some plans with a couple of friends.
Not knowing that night will change everything… forever.
Anne walked to school instead of riding the bus today. She thinks is better for her to have some little time for herself. Lost in thought, she jumped when she felt something on her shoulder, letting out a small yelp "Ha-ha, got 'cha!" Said the newcomer.
"Ugh, very funny Heather." Anne groan in annoyance.
Heather Spokes with her orange hair tied into a ponytail, with freckles on her cheeks and fair white skin. Wearing yellow and blue stripe shirt. Black shorts and red tennis shoes. She even wears a red baseball cap which is backwards. She also has a gap in between her teeth. She gave a giggle since she knows she scared Anne "C'mon Anne, I got you pretty good." Said Heather.
Heather been Anne friends since elementary school in 1st Grade. Anne gets along with her great. Heather is the only one who understand her. Sure, her brother understands her since they're siblings. But Heather is like a sister she never has. Annoying but alright. But today she isn't into one of Heather's funny business.
"Yeah, a shitty way to give someone a fucking heart attack." Anne grumble angry which Heather held her hands in defense "Whoa, someone woke up cranky. C'mon Anne I was only joking. You don't have to such a bitch about it." Heather folded her arms upset.
Anne gave a sadly sigh "Sorry Heather. It's just my dad left early to work. Without saying anything!" Anne angry shouted.
"But your dad is a detective, isn't he? Why would you be upset with that?"
"I know it's his job, but he usually always has time for us to hangout. Go to have some ice cream, to the park to catch the ball, not to mention watch a movie together. But ever since they found the body of the missing person, he barely has anytime for me and Carlos." Anne sadly sighs as she frowned "I just missed spend time with him."
Heather frowned when she looks at her friend with a sad expression. But quickly smiled as she places her arm around Anne's neck "Hey, I know what will cheer you up! We're still planning on that séance thing, right?" Heather asked.
"Well, duh! You think I'm going to let my mom spell book I found in the attic to gather dust?" Anne grinned "But where are we going to do a séance?" She asked.
"Don't worry. I found a perfect place." Heather leaned into her ear "Meet me at Franklin Avenue." She whispered.
"Why on Franklin Avenue?"
"Oh, you'll see. Because it's home for one of the scariest places, perfect for a séance." Heather told Anne in a scary voice. Something Anne can't help but to laugh "Yeah, right Spokes. Like there's such a place that exist.
Later that night
"O-Okay, s-scratch that. I-I guess there is a-a p-place that is s-scary." Anne shuddered looking quite pale "Out of all places…" Thunder struck as flashes of light shows an old abandon house on Franklin Avenue "…WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS?!"
"Uh, because it's perfect for a séance. Duh!" Heather responds which Anne then shook her head "No, no fucking way! I am not going inside that fucking deathtrap you call a house!" Anne shouted.
"Why the hell not? It's your idea to do a séance after we watched 'Arrgh' last week." Heather reminded Anne idea.
"Yes, but I didn't say about going to an abandon house!"
"When I asked you, I quote 'I don't care where we'll so a séance at. As long it has a perfect haunted atmosphere.' Which I remember you liked haunted houses. So, I picked this one." Heather explained raising a brow "Why don't you want do a séance here?"
"Because it used to be the home my parent's friends lived. The…" Anne looked at the house again "…The Loud resistance."
"Yeah, which is perfect. Don't tell me you're scared, are you?"
Anne laughs it off "Me? Scared? In your dreams."
"Then you won't mind we do it here. C'mon Anne it'll be cool if we meet actual ghosts! Oh, I can't wait!" Heather excitedly ran to the front door, looking back at Anne "Well, are coming?!" Heather asked.
Looking at the house Anne can't help but to gulp nervously. She heard stories about the ten children who all went missing. But haven't been found. And to this day, the house became one the most tourist attraction in Royal Woods. Anne took a deep breath as she steels her nerve.
"Fuck it." Anne cursed as she followed Heather behind.
Inside the two girls sat in the living room, Anne light up some candles that Heather brought with her. In the middle is a hamster ball, Anne looked at Heather a questionable look "What?" Heather asked, which Anne pinch the bridge of her nose "A hamster ball? Really Heather?" Annoyed Anne.
"Well, excuse me. But not everyone owns a crystal ball Anne." Said Heather with Anne rolling her eyes.
"Let's see if this works." Taking out her mom's spell book with Heather raised a brow "Does your mom know you have it?" She asked.
"My mom hasn't used this book in years. She'll doesn't need to know." Flipping some pages until she comes across a spell to summon and communicate spirits "Ah, this one should do."
"Hope you know how to work that."
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. Hopefully." Anne then then grabbed Heather hands as they close, they're eyes. Anne begins to call out to them "O spirits, can you hear me? I'm calling you from the Great Beyond. If you can hear me, please, send a sign." Once Anne finished speaking, nothing but an eerie silence. Walls creaking and the wind blowing against the old curtains. After a while, both girls open one eye to look anything. But unsurprisingly nothing happened. They both gave a groan in disappointment.
"Great, figured this wouldn't work." Grumbled Anne.
"Maybe you didn't say the right words." Said Heather.
Before Anne could reply, the house started to shake. Unaware the storm came out from nowhere, as neon-green flashing lighting. The hamster ball started to glow green, as it released a powerful pulse levitating everything, including the girls as they screamed "What the hell is happening?!" Anne shouted.
"I don't know! Turn it off!" Shouted Heather.
"I don't know how!" Yelled back.
Suddenly, a lightning rod shot out from the sky, curved itself as it went through a broken window. It struck the hamster ball, it cracks and unleashed an bright light as the shockwave set the two friends flying. Anne landing into a dining room, while Heather into a chimney with black soot flying. Flying around are green mist-like orbs, zigzagging around. Anne took cover under the table, one by one the orbs are flying out from the house. Anne then starting to panic.
"HEATHER!" Anne yelled with Heather coughing as she is coming out the chimney covered in soot "WHAT?!" Heather shout back.
"LET'S GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!"
"SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!"
Both of them screamed as they ran out the house. They stopped and looked back at the house. The sky covered with dark clouds as it circles over head with green light flashing, while green orbs started dance in a circle. Soon, the ten orbs then separate, flying in different directions. Once the orbs left the clouds then combust, disappearing from the sky. Once things seem to have calm down, Anne and Heather both are shaking and breathing heavily. They both look at each other if what they saw was real.
"I-I think w-we should… get away from here." Said Anne stuttering.
"G-Good i-idea." Heather agrees. Soon, both of them ran away from the house, heading back to their homes.
Somewhere in the outskirts of Royal Woods. One of the orbs flying fast in such a quick speed. Zigzagging as it zips around, looking for something. It arrives in a marsh area, hovering above the marsh. It then dives down into the water. The light shines until it faded, after a moment nothing seems to happen. However, until bubbles forming in the water. Until a shadow raising up. Splashing out was a plastic tarp tied up as the figure gave out an inhuman scream.
Once the tarp is off revealed an skeleton figure as it cries out in pain with it's eyes hole glowing green. The skeleton being whole body twitches and spasms uncontrollably. As it moves to land flesh started to cover the bones as organs forming. Now having a voice box, the figure voice is becoming high pitch like a child, as it continues screaming. White hair growing out from the head as eyes filled the sockets. It then fell to the forest floor as it drags itself out from the marshland water. Skin has formed covering the muscle fibers. Bones cracking as it hunches over and gave out a scream.
The figure then took inhale and exhale. Breathing night air, gasping. The figure is a young 11-yr-old boy. With a snowy white hair. Freckles on his cheeks, a chip tooth that look like a beaver, and white skin. Wearing a torn orange polo shirt and blue jeans, but completely barefoot. Standing up, feeling his legs weak and wobbly. He walked until he walked onto road. Looking around at his surroundings.
Distracted and confused, he fails to see a incoming car. The driver hits the breaks but once the boy notices the car, it was already too late. The car rammed into him send him flying over the car and hits the road with a loud thud. The car stops and two people quickly got out the car, ran to the boy.
"Oh my God! Is… Is he?" The woman worried as the man checked his pulse.
"He's alive. Quick came an ambulance!" The man told his wife as she quickly diel her phone. While the woman is calling some help the man look back at the kid who is hissing in pain, about to pass out.
"Stay with me, kid. W-What's your name son?" Asked the man.
"N-Name?" The boy weakly spoke.
"Yes, what's your name?"
With his vision blurred, he weakly replied "Lincoln… Lincoln Loud…" He answered before passing out as darkness took hold.
