![]() Author has written 13 stories for Teen Titans, Dragon Ball Z, Warcraft, Dragon Age, Elder Scroll series, Negima! Magister Negi Magi/魔法先生ネギま!, Final Fantasy XV, Warhammer, and Goblin Slayer/ゴブリンスレイヤー. Hello all you happy people. My name is The Flying Frog. I love reading Harry Potter, but I enjoy a few other things as well, like sword fighting, video gaming, watching cartoons, etc.. I am also a huge fan of DragonBall Z and Teen Titans, the Elder Scrolls series, and I've recently become interested in Negima. Also thanks to Crunchyroll, I'm now a fan of The Irregular at Magic High School. My Opinion of the DBZ Characters. Goku: Uneducated but can be very smart and cunning in a fight. When making the deal with old Kai, his mind was the first to jump to the dirty stuff by offering some of Master Roshi's magazines. Incredibly skilled he always tries to get stronger and learn more techniques. Not really stupid but more of a naive innocence. Gohan: My favorite DBZ character. Has the potential to easily be the strongest of them if it weren't for the fact that after all his studying he holds himself back in fights. The only time he doesn't hold back is when he fights major villains (Frieza, The Ginyu Force, Majin Buu) It's fun to write alternate universe's with him to be stronger and cooler though. When he poses as Saiyaman he believes himself to be dashing, when everyone else finds him silly. Vegeta: Awesome guy, pure and simple. Very smart but very proud. Don't get on his bad side. Unless you're stronger than him. Needs Goku to beat him so he can have his pride deflated every now and then. Could probably beat Goku if his rival took three months off of training. Chi-chi: (shudder) scary woman. Very smart and deadly. Cares for her family, and desires grandchildren. Bulma: Very smart, but can't really control Vegeta very well. Hercule: A big idiot all around. Helped save the world with his fame and by befriending Buu, but that is the only trace of humanity I have seen from the guy. Skilled in normal human standards. Piccolo: Awesome guy. Way too serious for his own good, yet his nature is great for the fun loving nature of the rest of the group (setting aside Vegeta) Krillin: Incredibly skilled, would be better if he had more confidence in himself. 18 helps him out there. 18: A woman who doesn't let her emotions get in the way usually...except when it comes to her husband Krillin, her daughter, or getting away from Roshi. Videl: When I first saw her, I thought she was a jerk, but grew to love her as a person. Serious, loves Gohan (whether she admits it while in high school or not) tries to get stronger, and cunning. Loves justice and had wanted to live up to her father's expectations and legacy before meeting a certain half saiyan. Now for my opinion on Teen Titans. Opinions of Characters. Beast Boy: He is not stupid. Simply uneducated. His powers in and of themselves require quick thinking. He is easily the most adaptive of the Titans but as the situations constantly change, transforming into the most effective animal can be hindered simply by the fact that it's the least effective in the next minute. He has to constantly concentrate on the situation and his fighting. Raven: She's half demon, not a demi god. She has weaknesses like everyone else. She isn't into the whole suicide life is pointless routine. She just thinks about what the point of activities are before engaging in them. She has the strongest character I've seen because she has to keep control of her emotions at all times, but she can appear to be an ice queen because she is blunt and honest about her opinions. (though through observation, that particular trait only comes out when she's around Beast Boy...well not only, but mostly) Cyborg: A genius with a sense of humor and a streak of immaturity which is 3 miles wide. Serious when he needs to be and makes a great friend. But he also has issues with his ego and his mechanical body. Seems to get into a lot of fights with Robin about leadership, seems to get irritated quickly about being abnormal. I think he loves helping people but is holding a grudge against life for becoming a cyborg. Robin: A great guy with honed deductive skills. Has a talent of stating the obvious. I don't think he's the kind of guy who would get on Beast Boy for being useless or on Raven for being half demon. I see him as working hard to try and improve himself and his team, but takes things too far in his obsession for stopping crime. Starfire: Simply put, naive and innocent. Sharp as a tack and wise beyond what one would expect from her demeanor. Represents what the Titans try to preserve in life. She also keeps Robin's ego grounded. Negima Characters: Okay, I'll be frank, they're so many it's hard to keep up, so I'll add a little at a time. Negi-main protagonist and can be somewhat difficult to write due to not only his maturity and genius, but also his childish and naive nature as a ten year old. As a side note, it's a lot of fun playing off the trope that every girl he meets is attracted to him, like Overmaster's Unequally Rational and Emotional or Shadow Crystal Mage's Nanoha Series, with a few exceptions. Asuna- a hot-head whose crap in school, but is also very street smart and cares deeply for Negi. I don't want to fight her. Nodoka- Very smart girl, very brave, and probably the hardest person to write in the series. Has a slight fear of men but a massive crush on Negi makes her fun to write, but hard to pull off realistically. Keep her artifact away from me. Yue: Easily one of my favorites in the series. Currently writing Philosophical Magic? starring her and Negi...although if she's in a single relationship with him or it becomes kind of a love hectagon times 20...just read and find out. Fei Ku: Very skilled fighter that I would love to have at my side, but I would hate to be on the opposite end of the battlefield with. I'm confident in my ability to take her in a school exam, however. Ayaka: I'm going to be honest here. I think she's one of the least utilized characters in canon, given the length of time Negi was in Mundus. I think she has a lot of potential to be a great partner, and not just the kind who can get into any meeting at any time. I kind of think her season two armor card with the whip is more suited to her than her canon one. I thought she'd have made a great dynamic in the group, with her rivalry with Asuna and her EXTREMELY obvious crush on Negi...which would've been fun to watch side-by-side Nodoka's. Original Characters: Okay, I'll be blunt. There are only a handful of authors that make truly realistic original characters. A badly written OC will make even the best stories sink faster than the Titanic. Most authors try to make them perfect, over develop them, or overuse them. The key to perfecting a character is imperfection. They need flaws, they need weaknesses, they make mistakes, they can't always be right about everything or solve all the problems. The key to developing a character is dialogue and actions (usually). Many people try so much of characterization that it ruins the plot, and we all know that it is the plot that keeps us hooked (usually). Characterization occurs as the plot develops. I'm not saying I'm good at it, but I am tired of seeing badly written OC's. I try my best and would like feedback on Shaman in my story Rise of the Shaman Another flaw that authors use is overusing said OC. Putting them in too many scenes. Every story written has a balance that must be met, and OCs must fit in it. Put too much emphasis on one thing, it tips the scale and ruins the overall quality. Character Relationships. BB/Raven: My favorite pairing in Teen Titans. I have a great argument supporting them and am fully prepared to give it to anyone who asks. I will not go into detail as it is lengthy. But I don't want arguments either so if you ask, please respect my opinions and I'll respect yours. Robin/Star: A much needed and under-appreciated pairing. Cyborg/?: He needs someone who'll respect him for him and be able to keep up with his childish nature. Bumblebee would be an excellent choice. But I have no real feelings for his romantic life. BB/Terra: A thing of the past that had its chance, though I do enjoy the occasional story about them as long as it's realistic, AU, and/or well developed. Negi/Asuna: I don't care for it. Period. I like their camaraderie and how much they obviously care for each other. But I picture them in a more brother/sister relationship rather than a romantic one. I'm not against seeing them in romantically awkward situations however. Negi/Yue: Want to see more of it. Pretty simple. Negi/Nodoka: Pretty much established as the default pairing, but not really. They work well together. Negi/anyone other than Asuna from class 2-A: That's the beauty and the horror of Negima. He goes well with almost every one of his students so I can pretty much write any pairing I so choose and it'll be realistic. My current stories in the works. The Ox Prince-Dragon Ball Z--Everyone who wants me to finish this fic, fear not I will get around to it. I know it's been several months but let's face it, real life can suck and kick you when you least expect it. Currently on Hiatus. I'll get back to it, but that muse has taken a vacation and another one has moved into the apartment for another story not DBZ related. Planted Jokes- Teen Titans-- This story has my main focus at the moment. I have so many ideas going around in my head that I accept theories and constructive criticism to see how accurate some people are. Also rating has been changed from T to M due to violence. Philsophical Magic?-- Inspired by Overmaster's Unequally Rational and Emotional. Main pairing is Negi/Yue, although it's not certain if she'll be the only girl paired with Negi. The story is kind of writing itself. BIG NEWS. I've been having some health problems recently, and just last week I went in for an MRI to look for some brain tumors. Well, they found one flipping huge one. OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE (Found on BlackSaint's Profile) Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing. |
