A great party was held in the fire nation palace. And the entire nation were holding their own festivals and parties.
One year… One year since the day of Sozins comet. One year since Ozais defeat.
This day had been named. "Day of Balance." and in new traditions people would enjoy food and traditions from the other cultures.
In the fire nation palace the banquet consisted both of fire nation, earth kingdom, water tribe and even Air nomad dishes. Pleasing all the royal visitors from across the world.
Gaping Kiyi was walking around in a long and elaborate silk dress which was quite honestly a little to big for her. So it was no surprised that Kiyi tripped while she was so busy trying to take everything in.
"Lady Kiyi!" A servant gasped started and helped her up. "Are you all right?"
"Yeah I'm fine." Kiyi grinned just as Noren came and picked her up.
"Sorry about that. I'll keep a better eye on her." Noren assured.
"It's quite all right Lord Noren. No harm done." The servant bowed.
"Erhm. I'm not a… Never mind." Noren sighed deeply as he turned and took Kiyi with him back towards Ursa who was smiling and chuckling while talking to and tall elder man, with a very lean and strong build.
"Thank you master Piandao. For looking after Zuko." Ursa smiled gently.
"It was my uttermost pleasure." The man obviously called Piandao replied. "Zuko is one of the best students I ever had the pleasure to teach. And knowing that your teachings will live on for at least another generation is the best thing any teacher can hope for." he smiled.
"You taught Zuko?" Kiyi asked earning Piandaos attention. "What do you teach?"
Piandao smirked amused. "I'm a swords master young lady." he informed.
"Woooow!" Kiyi gasped just as Iroh arrived as well with Toph tailing after him. "UNCLE IROH!" Kiyi squeeled reaching out towards Iroh and Iroh chuckled as Noren handed the girl over in a sigh.
"Hi squirt." Toph smirked.
"Hi Toph." Kiyi laughed back. "You look pretty."
"I wouldn't know." Toph shrugged.
"You both look very lovely." Iroh assured in a warm smile. "Toph can you look after Kiyi? I'm sure she would like to see more of the party." he said.
"Sure thing!" Toph grinned. "Come down here squirt."
"Down you go young lady." Iroh smiled warmly as he put Kiyi down and Toph grabbed her hand.
"You are in the cool company now." Toph grinned. "Let's see if we can find the other cool people."
"Okay." Kiyi nodded as they walked, barely did they walk a few steps before they ran into the first people they knew. Wisely did Toph turn to stay clear of the pillar that hid two young man.
Ryoma having stolen one of the small cakes meant for royals putting it in Zhau-Li's mouth and Toph grinned as she took Kiyi in the other direction.
They walked past Bumi who was gesturing wildly with his arms while talking to Kuei who blinked astounded. Hakoda was laughing loudly at his own dumb joke and the fire nation nobles was clapping very politely while forcing on some smiles.
"There you are!" A young fire lord came running towards them and Toph grinned.
"Sparky!"
Kiyis grin was even bigger. "Brother."
Zuko smirked. "I'm so glad I found you. It's almost time." he said.
"What is?" Kiyi asked.
"Fireworks." Zuko winked. "And I know where the best seats are!"
Kiyi gasped.
"Come on this way." Zuko gestured and Toph sighed.
"You don't like fire works?" Kiyi asked.
"Well… To me Fireworks is just a lot of loud bangs and then nothing. I can't see." Toph reminded her.
"Oh." Kiyi realized.
"But… I like the company. So that's fine." Toph said as they followed Zuko until they were now out in the garden.
"Okay Kiyi. Just hold on tight to me." Zuko asked as he picked Kiyi up and put her on his back. "I'll come pick you up in a bit Toph."
"Sure!" Kiyi sad as she grabbed unto Zukos shoulders and then in a woosh Zuko grabbed the drain pipe and with incredible speed he scaled the building itself with Kiyi on his back and she squealed in delight as they finally emerged on the roof and there was already a whole group of people there.
Aang, Katara, Sokka, Suki and Mai. All sitting on the roof while they grinned.
"Zuko! Kiyi!" Aang beamed.
"Look after Kiyi. I'm just going to get Toph!" Zuko said as he put down Kiyi and then vanished again while Kiyi giggled.
"Come sit down." Katara smiled lightly and Kiyi grinned as she walked over and plopped down next to Katara.
"So how do you like your visit here?" Sokka asked the little girl.
"It's great!" Kiyi beamed making Suki chuckle as she leaned up against Sokka.
Aang grinned. "It's good you're having a good time." he smiled. "You'll becoming next year too right?"
"I am?" Kiyi gasped. "YAAAAY!" she beamed just as Zuko came back with Toph on his back and Toph got off too so they could sit down with the others.
Zuko smirked as he sat down next to Mai and wrapped an arm around her. "Everything all right up here?" he asked.
"Super!" Sokka grinned. "This spot is great. Best part is that none of those nobles will spot us up here."
"And the fireworks well come from right over there." Zuko pointed. "It'll be right in front of us."
Kiyi was silent as she gaped looking up and then the first blast and the first sparkling piece of fire work as she gasped and then more, in all the colors of the rainbow which could be seen from the entire city.
Below them people came out as well and stood as they gasped at the fire work and then… A create came flying as well.
"DRUK!" Kiyi pointed as Zuko laughed and true enough the dragon easily flew in and out between all of the fireworks, looking like he was outright playing with it. And from below clapping sounds could even be heard.
It was an amazing sight, seeing a dragon flying all around the place… And no dragon had been seen for decades.
But there it was. For everyone to owe and wow at… One year. And so much had changed already. They really were on the right track.
"And we are going to do this next year too?" Kiyi asked.
"Yeah." Zuko chuckled as he wrapped an arm around Kiyis torso and pulled her into his lap where she was safe. "We'll be sure to do this next year too. Maybe Azula will even come. Who knows."
"Or maybe Zhau-Li can take his boyfriend with him up here." Sokka smirked.
"Or perhaps just someone else we haven't met yet." Katara smirked.
"No too many people though!" Toph exclaimed. "It'll ruin the point!"
Zuko smirked as he held Kiyi closed and allowed Mai to lean up against him as he looked up.
One year… It had brought so much already. One could only wonder what another year would bring.
The world was healing for sure and right now. Everything was right.
The end.
