Shouta aggressively slid the door open to his classroom, his face was bandaged a little bit and his leg was in a cast, but he looked as apathetic as ever so the class assumed he was alright.
"Good morning class, let's get straight to business this morning because there's a lot of important things we need to get to," Shouta tiredly explained.
"Sir! Are you sure you should be up and walking around with your leg like that?" Tenya asked.
"He's a pro-hero glasses, he's dealt with worse," Katsuki shrugged.
"Actually I am in excruciating pain and I'm going to go lie down after this, I just wanted to see your reaction to this," Shouta grinned devilishly.
Kyouka had a bad feeling about this.
"The sports festival is in one week, it's your first and last chance for a while to show what you're truly made of. Everyone is going to be watching you guys, so you have the next week off to train and prepare yourself. Students, welcome to your hell week!" Shouta shouted, which pretty much made them all regret every decision they had ever made.
"Hosted by me, mother fuckers!" Izuku shouted as he kicked the door open.
"Oh god we're all dead," Kyouka groaned.
"This is true. Everyday for the next week you will all report to training ground gamma so you can work on your abilities. Midoriya will be watching you because he literally has nothing better to do, and nobody else wants to do it," Shouta explained.
"Get ready for pain, belittlement, and all around soreness," Izuku excitedly added.
"This is gonna suck so much fucking dick."
"You're one to talk, Mina," Katsuki grunted.
"Y'know Izuku, if you just so happened to feel like going easy on me today, who knows, you might get lucky later tonight."
"Seeing you get stronger is all the pleasure I need!"
"Ugh, curse you and your himbo kindness," Kyouka grumbled.
"Come on Kyo, this'll be fun," Izuku said encouragingly.
"It's literally called Hell Week, nothing about this is gonna be fun, and don't you dare 'Kyo' me!" The punk girl pouted.
"You're doing something very simple today Kyo, do you see that mountain?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah, what about it?" Kyouka asked back.
"I want you to climb it, simple yeah?"
The mountain was about thirty, maybe thirty-five feet tall, it would be difficult but it was doable, the real question was why Izuku was grinning so much.
"What are you planning?" Kyouka cautiously questioned.
"What, it's simple, just climb that mountain only using your jacks," Izuku grinned.
"I regret ever going anywhere near you."
"And I love you with all my heart."
Kyouka quietly repeated his sentence in a mocking tone as she approached the massive hunk of rock. Extending her jacks to the max length, which was about three feet, and stabbing into the mountain with her right one.
She groaned as she pulled herself up, only managing to lift herself a foot off the ground. Once again she shot her jack as far up as it could go and dragged herself up another foot once she was plugged in.
After thirty minutes, she finally made it halfway up, and sighed in relief, her joy was cute short however, when she heard a rumbling sound overheard. Kyouka looked up just in time to see a boulder hurtling down the mountain towards her.
Kyouka barely managed to swing herself out of the way before it rolled past, nearly squashing her. She could see Izuku and Fang grinning down at her, and more boulders surrounding them.
"Oh, I am never writing another love song about you again!"
"You did that for me?" Izuku asked, his eyes growing bigger in adoration.
"Not anymore I'm not!" Kyouka shouted.
It took another forty five minutes to get up to the top of the mountain, prolonged by the occasional rock tossed at her.
She pulled herself up onto the flat top of the mountain and quickly rushed over to Izuku, lightly batting at his shoulder in frustration.
"Relax, the rocks were paper-mache, and there were crash pads under you. You really think I'd actually let you get hurt?" Izuku chuckled.
Kyouka simply huffed in response, "Whatever, you're just gonna have to carry me down whatever stairs you took to get up here to make up for it."
Hisashi grinned as he faced down Death Arms. Flames licked at his lips from between his teeth, signaling the inferno ready to escape from his mouth.
Death Arms was a tall and muscular man, with a bit of an underbite and short, spiky white hair. His hero uniform consisted of a simple light blue unitard.
Death Arms growled as he batted against his chest like an ape. Hisashi quickly drew his katanas and lit them ablaze, however, the pyromaniac didn't manage to land a hit before his opponent punched him square in the chest.
Even with the wind knocked out of him, Hisashi managed to charge forward, and after ducking under another punch, and slicing through the tendons and the muscle and the bone.
Death Arms right arm fell to the ground.
The man was stunned, he didn't even scream at first, just looked down and tried to wiggle his arm, as if it was some kind of bad dream of hallucinations.
While Hisashi was relishing in the bloodshed, Death Arms tackled him to ground, his remaining hand clasped over Hisashi's mouth, preventing any fire from coming through.
If Hisashi could grin though he would, as his whole body was rapidly heating up, until the black-haired villain exploded in flames. Death Arms screamed as he pulled away and rapidly tried to put out the fire.
But there was no need, as Hisashi picked up one of his Katanas and sliced off his left arm.
This time Death Arms actually did scream, it was agonizing and oh so wonderful to Hisashi's ears. The hero still tried to wiggle his arms, like if he moved them enough they would come back.
"You know, I feel bad about this. Why don't we hug it out?" Hisashi suggested, the flames distorting his voice.
The anguished screams of Death Arms hallowed through the cities that night.
Hisashi sighed as the charred corpse of the hero fell to the ground. He had no vendetta against the white-haired muscle head, he was just the first hero Hisashi could find to test his new quirk on.
Speaking of new quirk, he still wasn't quite acclimated to the Flame Body quirk, he might need some more test subjects.
It was then that he heard Death Arms sidekicks calling for him.
"He's over her, come quick, he needs help!" Hisashi called, putting in his best frightened voice.
Like lambs to a slaughter house.
"So what's on your stupid agenda today?" Kyouka asked.
"You see that mountain?" Izuku asked back, pointing to the same one he did yesterday.
"I'M NOT CLIMBING THAT THING AGAIN FUCK OFF!"
"I'm not asking you to climb it, I'm asking you to destroy it," Izuku grinned.
"Are you kidding me?! That's even worse!" Kyouka yelled again.
"Just pump your heartbeat through it, it shouldn't be too hard to bring this thing down," Izuku said encouragingly.
Kyouka grumbled but complied, his confidence in her was infectious after all, and she sent a few pulses of her heart through her jacks. The sound waves caused the mountain to rumble a bit, but ultimately nothing happened.
Sighing, Kyouka attempted to step back and remove her jacks, but Izuku's hands resting on her shoulders prevented that.
"Keep going."
"What? Izuku I can't, the mountain is too big and too dense," Kyouka said as she pulled her jacks out.
"Come on, this is what Hell Week is about: pushing yourself past your limits to get even stronger! Now plug back in and take this hunk of rock down!" Izuku cheered.
Smirking at his enthusiasm, Kyouka did as she was told and sent another pulse into the mountain.
"You gotta put in more force than that!"
Another pulse, another failed attempt.
"Kyouka, I know you have more strength in you!"
And another failure. Kyouka was beginning to get irritated.
"You can do this Kyouka, you just have to try harder."
Unbeknownst to her, upon her fifth botched attempt to destroy the mountain, a small purple streak of lightning flashed across her face.
"Come on, dig deep!"
Kyouka screamed as her body lit up with tiny arcs of purple electricity, and a pulse of sound, at least a hundred times more powerful than she'd ever created, ripped through the mountain and brought it crashing down to the floor.
She suddenly felt a great pain in her jacks, like someone had just taken a vegetable peeler to them. She immediately recoiled her extra appendages and covered them with her hands, resisting the urge to scream.
The punk girl could hear Izuku yell something extremely muffled, basically inaudible over the ringing in her ears, which was growing more intense by the second.
Kyouka felt Izuku lift her off the ground in a bridal carry and sprint her out of the training grounds.
Kyouka awoke to silence, complete and total quiet, which was weird given that she was in a hero school. As she sat up, she realized that she was in an infirmary bed, the unfamiliar white walls giving it away immediately.
She looked to her left and saw Izuku speaking with Recovery Girl, but…
But Kyouka couldn't hear the words coming out of their lips.
Kyouka's hand flew up to her ear and began to rapidly snap near her ears, but still no sound reached her.
Her snapping quickened in pace and desperation, until her arms were gently pinned to her sides by Izuku. She struggled for a few seconds, but his calming smile eventually killed her nerves, and Kyouka relaxed into his torso.
Recovery Girl grabbed a notepad off the table and passed it to her, "Ms. Jiro, due to overuse of your quirk you have gone temporarily deaf. It should only last for a day but if you push yourself anymore it could become worse."
Seeing her clear confusion, Izuku took the notepad and scribbled something down on the next page, "Think of it like feedback from a microphone, that sound wave you created was so powerful that it got sent through your jacks as well and overloaded your eardrums."
Recovery Girl took back the notepad and wrote, "I suggest you go home and get some bed rest," before turning to Izuku and saying something to him, to which he nodded, smiled and left the room.
"Is this your first time using One For All?" Recovery Girl wrote.
"Yes, I've tired before but this is the first time I've ever actually used it."
"Then tomorrow, when you regain your hearing, you need to speak with Toshinori."
Kyouka arrived back at the dorm late, most everybody was asleep and all the lights were off. The only thing illuminating the house was the TV, bathing the couch in a ghoulish white glow.
Izuku sat in the center of the couch, his eyes carried a muted rage and his chin rested on his balled fists.
Obviously she couldn't hear what was on the TV, but she could read the news headline.
Death Arms and his sidekicks dead: victims of a cruel arsonist's attack.
