It was the day of the Sports Festival, Kyouka had recovered her hearing just in time to be able to participate.

Everybody else was preparing themselves for what was to come inside a locker room, but Kyouka was in one of the many halls of Olympus Stadium, her arms wrapped around Izuku's neck, and his around her waist.

They could hear the muffled cheers outside from the heroes and civilians in the stands, a daunting choir to her hypersensitive ears.

"I'm probably not gonna make it past the first event, you know that right?"

"Kyouka, you're the most amazing person here, there's no way you don't blow every other chump competing out of the water."

The smaller girl pouted up at Izuku, "What makes you so sure of that?"

"Because you're my girlfriend: not only am I contractually obligated to believe in you, but I also genuinely think that you'll win. You've got a superpower that has spanned generations after all," Izuku smiled.

"Best not to shout that out, Young Midoriya," Toshinori sighed as he rounded the corner.

"Hey All— Mr. Yagi," Kyouka corrected herself.

"Good morning, Young Jirou. It's a big day for you, it's your chance to really prove yourself. Do you remember what we talked about yesterday?" Toshinori asked.

Kyouka nodded, "My body's a river, One For All's the water, I can't let the power flood, or block the flow."

Technically he hadn't talked with her about anything, but they had communicated via writing, and that's how Toshinori had explained One for All to her.

The massive blowback came from her using too much of it in one place, so instead she had to let a small amount spread all through her body.

"Very good. I must get to the teacher's area now, but I'm placing all my bets on you," Toshinori said as he gave her an encouraging smile and a thumbs up.

"So are you two heteros done being all mushy?" Katsuki asked as he poked his head out into the hallway, "We're on in five."

"You're a bottom for both of them," Kyouka replied in a snide tone.

"And I'm fucking proud of it!"

Kyouka rolled her eyes, before pressing her lips to Izuku's cheek, "Well, I guess that's my que. I'll see you soon."

Izuku grinned, "Oh yeah you will."

Kyouka's hand was on the doorknob when she whirled her head around, "Wait a minute what does that mean!?"

Izuku was either out of earshot, or he was being a little bitch and choosing to pretend he was.

The stadium was all too loud for Kyouka, and it was hard to tune out, she just wanted to retreat back to her soundproof room, but that wasn't an option.

Midnight walked up to the center podium and tapped the mic a couple times to get everyone's attention.

"Ahem, Welcome ladies, gentlemen, and all those who subscribe to neither! On behalf of UA I'd like to thank you all for attending, the first event will be a race around the stadium from the north end to the south end, the first fourty-four to make it will have a seat in the second event!"

The people around her began to whisper amongst themselves, either forming temporary alliances or talking about how screwed they were.

"But before that, we have the opening speech to get through, given by class 1-A's representative: Katsuki Bakugou!"

"Oh this should be good," Kyouka chuckled to herself as she watched Katsuki walk onto the podium and grab the mic.

He looked out into the crowd of students, before beginning his speech with, "I am objectively stronger than all of you and I am going to win."

The stands and students erupted in anger, they drowned everything else out and showed no signs of stopping until Katuski made a small explosion right next to the mic.

Kyouka was thankful she covered her jacks for that.

"But, that doesn't mean you all shouldn't try your hardest to attempt to beat me. You all better put up a hell of a fight today," he finished.

As Katsuki jumped off the podium, Nemuri took back the mic and awkwardly chuckled, "Well, that was certainly a speech wasn't it. Students, line up at the edge of the south tunnel in five minute, and get ready to sprint your butts off!" She ordered.

Kyouka was dead center of the pack of over two hundred students, all pushing and shoving to get just a little bit further in.

Nemuri climbed up to a platform over the tunnel entrance, where all the students could see her. She held two white flags in her hands and held them up high.

"Alright kids! I want a clean race, so no using quirks on other contestants, anything else goes!" She yelled. Nemuri raised the flags just a little bit higher, before whipping them down in a flash, shouting, "Go!" as she did.

Kyouka was forced to run, the people around her were practically moving her on their own. She was halfway through when the sheer amount of people clogged the tunnel, she saw Shoto and Katsuki break through the pack and run forward.

Not wanting to be left behind, Kyouka took a deep breath and let a little bit of One for All flow through her. Purple lightning arced over her body as she began to bounce from wall to wall until she came out into the sunlight.

And with one obstacle out of the way, another came: a swarm of robots from the Entrance exam began to attack from all angles.

Kyouka used the increased speed of One for All to bounce around and over most of the robots, but then she came to three of the hulking Zero-Pointers.

The punk-girl definitely couldn't go over, they were too high up, and she didn't think going under was a good idea either, Kyouka had seen first hand just how fast these things were during the entrance exam they could squash her in an instant.

But when Shoto froze all the robots in a second, she managed to run between one of their legs and make it out before he could bring them down entirely.

Kyouka stopped for a few seconds to take a breather, using One for All so much was starting to make her body ache, like someone was whittling away at her bones.

She could've and would've stayed there longer, but she saw Eijirou and another boy with Silver hair break through the pile of robot parts, all the other contestants following right behind them.

She could hear Present Mic yell something about 'Robo alley' over the speaker system but she really wasn't paying attention to that, she had already fallen behind Tenya, Shoto, Katsuki, Eijirou, and the silver-haired dude.

Kyouka knew she wasn't gonna win this race but she had to at least move on to the second event, that's all she wanted.

She ran for what had to have been half of a mile before she came across the next obstacle, a massive casam, massive islands floating around all connected by thick silver cables.

Shoto created an ice bridge that he destroyed once he got across, Katsuki blasted himself over, and Tenya, Tsuyu, and a girl with Pink dreadlocks also made it over in an instant.

"This is a bad idea," Kyouka whispered to herself as she grabbed hold of her jacks, brought them down to her waist, and angled them backwards.

A One for All powered jump took her a fifth of the way across the casam, and she squeezed her eyes shut as she channeled her rapid heartbeat into her jacks

After about twenty seconds, she opened her eyes just in time to make a proper landing against the other side.

Kyouka could've taken a few seconds to celebrate her victory, but she didn't. She couldn't waste any more time.

After another twenty minutes, she encountered the final obstacle, a minefield. Kyouka heard Present Mic clarify that the mines weren't lethal, just strong enough to knock someone on their ass, evidenced by Tenya getting launched a few feet back.

But Kyouka had the biggest advantage out of all of them. She could hear where the mines were, she didn't know what but something inside them was ticking, she was basically handed a map of their location.

With the third obstacle down, the south tunnel in plain sight, and about seven people in front of her, the fourth and final obstacle revealed himself.

"Y'know, I thought you were just supposed to be a janitor," Kyouka grumbled.

"To be honest, I'm also kinda confused why they have me doing this," Izuku shrugged while perching a massive battle axe on his shoulder.

"Any chance you'll let me go through, because you love me?" Kyouka suggested.

"Oh, you'll qualify, trust me," Izuku grabbed the axe with two hands, "I just can promise you'll get first pla—"

Shoto scoffed and sent a wave of ice at Izuku, coating him in an immobilizing frost. Part of Kyouka wanted to make sure he was ok, but part of her also knew that he'd break out eventually and that she should just keep running.

Upon seeing water droplets start to pour off of his frozen prison, Kyouka took the latter option.

She and a dozen other people sprinted down the tunnel, she only spared a single glance backward to see Izuku melt free and immediately kick Mineta in the stomach.

With one more burst of One for All, she pushed past Tenya, Tsuyu, Momo, and another person she didn't recognize, before the feeling of daylight fell on her skin once more.

"AND THAT'S KYOUKA JIROU COMING IN AT NINTH PLACE!"

Any semblance of energy left in her body disappeared that second, and Kyouka face-planted into the faux grass.

This chapter was kinda garbage, I know, and I'm sorry about it, but oh my god was this race such a bitch to write, I already hate the Sports Festival. Discord links:
