After learning the truth about this area another shocking realization dawn on those that Regina was around at the time.

"Were those overthrew the High Chancellor and others already roboticized themselves. No one knew about it because they had been using something similar to what was hiding this area from us" one of them stated.

The home of Mega Central was having to fight a war on two fronts at the moment. There was the battle from an outside force that on the surface they had reached a ceasefire with. One where it seemed the fight had stopped and that things were starting to settle down. However, it was discovered that the reason for the ceasefire was because their central government had been overthrown and they were just finding out about it now. From what was stated back when they found out this had happened some time ago to around the point where they started losing battle and talks of the ceasefire started at all

"Are those the missing people that were being reported recently?" Regina said in shock

As it was not something that reach a level of this need to become a main focus of effort. However, there were reports of various people just going missing at the time as they would go out and seemingly no return for days on end. When they finally do return if ever then no one around them seems to question where they have been or why they were gone for so long.

One of the reasons the normal defense force even caught wind of this plan taking place right under their very noses was that there were members that had been on long terms of duty having noticed their family and friends were all acting strange. Luckily one of them that noticed this managed to report it before they ended up joining them as well.

That being that they were seemingly roboticizied as well and made to act as if nothing was wrong within the city. Not only that they would all of sudden be against the fighting against the Robotnik Empire. Seeking for not just a ceasefire but wanting to just be neutral in the conflict where they neither help nor fight against the Empire.

"They managed to get us with this it seems" Regina's father stated as they came up to the main machine that seemed to be what was being built in this area.

The roboticized Overlanders and Robians might have fooled them from afar and when they were not caught off guard. However, once they knew what they were and how they were pulling off these feats. Then it was more than easy for technomage of a high enough skill level and/or talent to make themselves seem invisible to their sensors entirely at that point.

"If they could have done this the entire time then why to go about this indirect route," Regina asked

Others around her were wondering the same thing as well. This could have easily been used as a tactic to overwhelm if they used it on the general public after all. Roboticize them all and then use that to make their defense crumble to nothing then blow away

"This is not the work of that those traitorous Robotnik brothers though...at least not directly. The older one that was once here is not any more or at least they are not on the frontline at the moment" her father as well everyone else's commander stated.

There seems to be something going on that the two of them are not fully aware of at the moment. It is thanks to them not being aware that this is happening that they are not taking advantage of it. An oversight that might give a slight chance at fighting back and then revealing this to the world at large before they use it in other places. These were the things that he then went on to explain to them

However, after overlooking the machine they noticed that only someone of Regina's height would be able to get in there as the only entrance was just that way. Even Regina had to use her magitek to make just a little bigger to fit herself through. Once safely in she was going to work with her father to help him and the others come in after her. That thought would not come to pass as of right when she got in herself that when the roboticized Overlanders and Robians seem to notice them and then went on the attack. Well more like knew something was amiss and just started attacking the area around them in general. Their sensors could not see them but there were other ways to get around that.

"GO NOW!" Regina's father yelled

He knew for sure that this strange machine behind them needed to be stopped but more than that there was even greater danger roaming around here at the moment. Robotnik seemingly did not know that he had created a monster and though he did not know the extent of its ability or knowledge. The sheer fact that it was able to accomplish all of this in a short amount of time at least in his mind as though Colin Kintobor...no he no longer deserved that name. He had become no different than his younger brother at this point in that he was Colin Robotnik, a seemingly an important member of the Robotnik Empire now.

Anyway, he might have been the one calling the shots when this all began but that changed once that one robot arrived. Not sure when they did but once they had that is when everything started to change as things just started going downhill from that point onward. It was a small miracle for them that he had not noticed this as something was keeping his interest away from the city leaving all to that robot. Which was good if they can merely get this machine taken out along with that robot too. If not then at least expose its existence as the world needs to know such a dangerous threat exists unknown to everyone even those of the Robotnik Empire.
