To wolfclaw1098 – Thanks for your review! Yeah I was focusing a lot on Dick because I was trying to write from his POV, but when that happens, especially in a story with this kind of plotline, it really makes everyone wonder what the others were doing during all of this and why they hadn't rescued him yet lol. You will find that out soon! Hope you like this chapter!

AN – Okay, this chapter's a little on the short side, but this chapter needed to happen and to me, it didn't really work being a part of chapter 11 or 13. Next chapter will be longer. Hope you all like it!

Enjoy!

Dick was opening his eyes before he even realized that he was awake. His limbs, his body felt heavy, as though he had been drugged with something really strong. Then he remembered that Slade had been drugging him because of the brand Slade had burned on him, and to probably keep him from continuing his escape attempts. However, this felt a little different than those times. Before, he would feel completely groggy and tired. He would just want to go back to sleep. This time though, he felt more awake, but his limbs felt heavier.

Lifting his head, he quickly realized that he was no longer in his cell but he didn't know anything else. Wherever he was, he didn't recognize it. He also wasn't lying down like one would think a sleeping person would be. He was sitting up in a black leather seat with a strange harness over his chest, keeping him in place instead of a seatbelt. And his hands were locked with handcuffs in front of him.

The place he was in was fairly dark, the only light come from tiny little bulbs above buttons on the strangely curved ceiling. There were no windows, except in front of him. He couldn't see out them though because not only was there another seat in front of him, but it was dark outside. All he could make out the faint twinkling of distant stars. On the left of the seat in front of him was another chair and sitting in it, was Slade.

"Where are we?" Dick asked, glancing at the back of Slade's head before he continued examining his surroundings. Normally he would've easily been able to figure it out, but the drug Slade gave him must still be in his system because he was really having a hard time concentrating despite feeling very alert.

"None of your business. Now shut up and stay still." Slade snapped from his spot in the pilot's seat. Wait. Pilot seat?

"We're on a plane." Dick breathed out in realization, again looking all around. They were on a plane. A really small, but definitely well-made and expensive plane. It looked even more teched-out than the Batplane, though smaller. Where did Slade even get this plane? Was he somehow storing it at the place they had been before, or did he take him to a private airstrip or something?

"I said shut up!" Slade shouted, surprising Dick.

Throughout the entire time he was held hostage, Slade had never actually shouted or yelled at him. He was condescending, harsh, insulting and at times, apparently caring but he never let any anger he might have felt take over him like he seemed to be doing right now. It was starting to frighten Dick a bit. Slade had shown him cruelty before with how he tricked him into believing he could escape out the door and branding him like he was nothing more than a piece of property all without letting his fury control him. Dick didn't want to know what Slade would do if he was properly mad. And if he was being honest, he kind of liked how caring the older man had been the last few times they had interacted.

But, if they were on plane, that meant they were moving. It was the first time they had switched locations and there had to be a reason for that. Add in the fact that Slade was on edge, something was going on. Had Bruce figured out where they were? Did he come to rescue him? Or was it the Team? Wait, that meant that they didn't get there in time and Slade was taking him somewhere else. Somewhere where he couldn't be found. Dick couldn't let that happen. He wanted to go home.

Without thinking twice, Dick moved his hands so they closer to him and started to move his thumbs. If he could just dislocate them, he could easily slip free from the cuffs. Then he could get the harness off, take down Slade and use the plane comm system to get help. Bruce had taught him how to use the communication system in the Batplane and in regular planes, along with teaching him how to fly. He should be able to figure out how to use this one too.

"What do you think you're doing?" Dick froze for a second at Slade's question. His attempts had been noticed immediately, probably due to the jingle made by the short chain link between the cuffs. He should probably stop and tell Slade that he was just getting comfortable, but he couldn't do that. He had buckled enough under Slade's influence and his fear of the man and he had had enough of it. Without looking up, Dick continued trying to get out of the cuffs.

Suddenly the assassin was in front of him and was grabbing his hands. "Stop it boy!"

"No." Dick replied, trying to pull his hands away from Slade so he could keep trying to get free. Before he managed to do anything though, Slade back-slapped him so hard across the face, he banged the side of his head on the wall of the plane.

As Dick brought his throbbing head back forward, Slade, having grabbed a roll of duct tape from somewhere, started taping his fingers and thumbs together. By the time Dick fully realized what the criminal was doing, it was too late. His hands were all taped so he couldn't dislocate thumbs and get free. Apparently that wasn't enough though because Slade started taping his hands down to his lap as he said, "And here I thought you had learned to listen. Guess I'm going to have to reteach you some things."

"It's not going to work, Slade." Dick told him angrily as he struggled to break free from the tape. When that didn't work, he looked back up at his captor and added, "Batman, my team found me before. And they'll find me again."

"Don't count on it boy." Slade replied before punching him in the temple, immediately knocking him out.

Slade stared at the now unconscious boy. If only the drug had kept him out for longer, until they reached their destination. It should've, but Slade had been using the drug on Richard a couple of times in a short amount of time. Maybe he was growing resistant to it. He would have to switch to a different one in the future.

He couldn't deny he was frustrated and annoyed. Annoyed that his plans were going a little sideways. Frustrated that all the work he had put into his apprentice for the last month, specifically the last four days, seemed to be coming undone. He had been doing his best to train Richard, and then break him down a bit in order to stop him from trying to escape and he was finally starting to get results. He might have gone a little too far with branding him, but that and the door trick had broken down the young hero's walls and caused him to actually start bonding with him. There was some real progress being made.

With a shake of his head, Slade wrapped Richard's ankles with the duct tape as well, then headed back to his seat. He was just going to have to start again. And maybe be a little harsher, especially depending on Richard's attitude. He may have realized that his little team had gotten too closer to finding them, and that might encourage him to try and run again, but that wasn't going to last long. He would learn that this was now where he belonged. It was up to him if he took the easy way or the hard way. For now, Slade focused on getting to their new base where they shouldn't be found. Even by Batman.

"Siberia?" Artemis questioned, beyond confused by what she was hearing.

Batman had found a location where Deathstroke was apparently taking Robin, somewhere outside of Jump City, and they rushed over, but all they found was an empty airstrip. Batman didn't seem as taken a back as the others, having surmised that Slade wouldn't have stayed in the same city after being found, but he didn't know that this airstrip existed. They then headed to the Watchtower, which is where they were now, so Batman could try to track the plane. He ended up being successful, but the location he came up, Siberia, seemed a little crazy. Of all the places to go, that was where Slade chose?

"According to the data we were able to get from the plane Slade took, that's where they're heading." Batman explained with an impatient tone. He was in no mood to deal with questions when he had literally just gave them the answers to them. Admittedly, it did sound a little weird for Slade to head to Siberia, especially since they didn't know how Bruce came to that conclusion but they didn't have time for this. They had to go and find Dick now.

"What's in Siberia?" Conner wondered, sounding just as confused as the blonde archer.

"Most likely, a place where Slade can stay low." Roy chimed in as he crossed his arms over his chest. He looked just as annoyed and frustrated Bruce felt.

"And we know for a fact that that's where he's going?" M'gann then asked. She could sense how wound up everyone was, especially Batman, but she didn't think it was a good idea wasting time on random locations unless they had good reason to believe that it was indeed where Deathstroke and Robin were.

"I found an old redacted file when I looked through Slade's military history and managed to uncover it. There is an old, secret military base there that he, and his team, stayed in at one point. It's our only lead right now." Batman explained.

"Then let's check it out. The bioship can get us there quickly. It travels faster than planes." M'gann told him, to which Batman, and everyone else, nodded.

"Let's go." Wally nearly shouted before rushing over to the doors, at a somewhat normal speed. The others immediately followed after him, but before either of them reached the doors, they opened and Superman walked in.

"Batman." The Kryptonian called out, then stopped when he noticed the young team and the serious expressions on their faces.

"What?" The Dark Knight growled in frustration and annoyance. He did not have time to deal with whatever Clark needed.

"There's a situation." Superman responded. Before he could give any details, Batman moved to walk past him as he growled, "Deal with it."

"Batman, it's in Gotham." Superman informed him, causing the vigilante to freeze. When Batman didn't turn around but didn't keep walking, Superman continued, "An unknown, dangerous alien is attacking. Destroyed part of Arkham Asylum and several criminals there have escaped and are now wreaking havoc."

Batman felt a sudden urge to punch to punch Superman in the face. It wasn't the alien's fault but why did this have to happen now? He needed to go rescue his son, but Gotham was his city. And of course with it being his city and given his 'no-metas allowed' rule, Superman wouldn't just go and deal with the problem without telling him. The Justice League could handle it, but it still was his city and therefor his problem. He did not like others taking care of his problems. However, his son came first.

"I'll deal with it later." Batman decided, turning back to face the young heroes.

To his surprise, Kaldur stepped forward and said, "Batman, we can find Robin."

The older vigilante stared at the young leader. He knew that this group of heroes were close, much closer than the League was but it was the first time he had seen it first hand, and it meant so much more that it was about his son. It was extremely clear from the looks on their faces' how protective they were of their youngest member and how badly they wanted to help him. Bruce couldn't deny them the opportunity to do their part, but he wasn't sure if he could trust Dick's safety solely in their hands. He barely trusted Superman with Dick's safety, let alone a couple of teenagers.

"We promise. If he's there, we'll bring him home." Wally assured him, also taking a step forward.

"You better." Batman warned them, giving them, what Dick called, his Bat-glare, for good measure.

Instead of buckling in fear, all of them straightened their posture and nodded, accepting the task and responsibility. Kaldur looked at his team and said, "Let's go."

AN – Full disclosure, I only had the Gotham emergency happen because I wanted only the Team to rescue Dick so I needed a reason to get Batman to not come along. Otherwise, there would have been nothing that would've stopped Bruce from finding Dick and almost killing Slade. Also, I have no idea where all Slade went during his stint in the military and I wanted them to end up someplace freezing cold and I can't think of a reason why he would go to Canada, and Siberia was the first place that came to mind. Hope you guys liked this chapter! See you all next time!
