To Denial – Thanks for your review! I'm glad you liked it! Unfortunately I'm not showing Bruce's reaction to Slade branding Dick. Chapter 15 took place a few weeks after Dick was rescued so Bruce already knows and has processed it. But if you are curious, when he discovered it, he wanted to go hunt down Slade and murder him but Alfred made sure he knew that Dick needed him more so he stayed by his side, though he is definitely looking for him when he can. I hope you like this chapter!

AN – And here we are, the last chapter. Thank you to everyone who read this story! I hope you all enjoyed it!

Enjoy!

Wally glared at the TV screen from his spot on the couch. Beside him, Conner also glared while he flipped through the channels. The speedster supposed he should be grateful that the clone wasn't just listening and watching static like he normally did, but he wished he picked one. If he did, then maybe Wally would be able to concentrate on that instead of his worry over his best friend and his anger at Gotham's Dark Knight. He would love a distraction right about now.

It had been over two weeks now since they rescued Dick and they haven't seen him since. Even when he was recovering in the Watchtower, they weren't allowed to visit him. At first, they were told to wait until he had recovered enough that he would be awake and alert enough to actually talk with them, but then they learned that Batman took him home, to Gotham. That was the last they had heard about their teammate and friend. Batman didn't even bother to give them updates on how Dick was doing. For all they knew, he could be on his deathbed right now. He was pretty sure they would've been told that though if that actually was happening.

"Can you just pick one already?" Wally growled when Conner changed the channel again.

Glaring hard at the screen, Conner said, "There's nothing good on."

"Who cares? Anything's better than this or static." Wally told him.

"Well, since I've got the remote, I choose what to watch and I haven't decided. You don't like it, you can leave." Conner responded, turning his glare to the speedster.

Wally clenched his teeth, wishing he could punch the teenager beside him. Conner must've somehow sensed that because his glare hardened and his fists tightened. Before either of them could actually act on their pent-up anger and frustration, they suddenly heard M'gann say, "Cut it out you two."

The two of them looked over the back of the couch to see the Martian make her way into the kitchen area to check on her cookies. Ever since they rescued Robin, she had been cooking up a storm. Artemis was right behind her with Zatanna and Raquel, who had finally returned from their missions. As the blonde archer walked towards Wally and Conner while the other two girls joined M'gann, she asked, "Do I need to sit between you two?"

"No, but I wouldn't mind if you had an idea of something else to do instead of watching TV." Wally told her, looking up at his girlfriend.

"Yes please, distract him." Conner said, causing Wally to glare at him again even though the clone was staring at the screen.

Artemis smirked, then looked at her boyfriend. "I was actually about to head to the training room to practice some shooting. Roy's there too so maybe he can help by being my target."

Wally couldn't help but chuckle at that. Though Roy and Artemis had slightly gotten over their differences after the Light's invasion of the Watchtower, and had kept the arguing to a minimum while they searched for Dick, they still weren't anywhere close to best friends. Wally however had faith that they would get there eventually. But maybe he should join them to make certain that they didn't kill each other. And it would be more entertaining than staying here.

"I'll come with you." The redhead responded as he stood up and walked to the blonde's side.

"Okay." Artemis replied, taking his hand in hers before realizing the leader of their team was missing.

"Where's Kaldur?"

"He went for a swim in the pool." Conner answered, finally picking a football game to watch.

Artemis gave a nod of acknowledgement and moved to head to the training room with Wally, but stopped when she saw Black Canary enter the room. "Here you all are."

"Hey Canary. Is something wrong?" M'gann wondered, pulling a pan of muffins out of the oven.

"Batman is here." Black Canary said, effectively getting everyone's attention. "He's waiting for all of you by the zeta tubes."

"I'll go get Kaldur." Wally told her before rushing off.

Less than five minutes later, the entire team stood in front of Black Canary and Batman. Gotham's vigilante was as emotionless as ever, which was annoying. It would've been nice if he could just give them some kind of expression. Just to let them know that Robin was okay. However, he didn't look heartbroken or like he had been grieving, so they all took that as a sign that their friend and teammate was still alive. As stoic as Batman tended to be, there was no way he could keep that up if Robin was dead or not going to recover. They'd seen enough of his reaction to Robin's capture to know how much he cared.

"Okay, we're all here." Conner said when Kaldur and Wally arrived, the Atlantean's hair still slightly damp from his swim. "Now tell us what's going on with Robin?"

Batman frowned at Conner, then responded, "If you'll all follow me, I will provide you the answer to that question."

He then turned and went through the zeta-tube. The Team stared at each other in confusion but Wally and Roy quickly shook it off and went after the Dark Knight. After a moment of hesitation, the other heroes went as well, leaving Black Canary alone in the Mountain.

As the bright light of transportation device faded, they all found themselves in a dimly lit cave, filled with some really strange things. There was a giant penny, an actual dinosaur along with several other things that must been 'trophies' or keepsakes from missions. The young heroes also saw an area lower than the platform they were on where the famous Batmobile and Robin's motorcycle sat parked. On a level a few feet above them, was a row of cases from uniforms and a giant computer.

"This is, we're in the Batcave." Artemis stammered in shock. Even though she lived in Gotham and occasionally helped Batman and Robin whenever one of the crazy villains like Scarecrow was loose, she had never been to the Batcave before.

"Yup." Wally confirmed, unable to stop the small grin from growing on his face. He remembered how excited he was when he first came here. It was only because of Dick's interference that he didn't actually break anything, but only barely.

Batman suddenly spun around to face them and said, "Everything you all are about to learn here, does not leave here, understand? You are being trusted with some extremely important secrets and I don't take kindly to anyone who destroys that trust."

"We understand Batman." Kaldur spoke for the Team, still completely composed in spite of the excitement and wariness at what was about to happen.

Batman stared at them silently for a minute. Whether it was because he was second-guessing his decision or if he was just trying to prolong it, no one knew for sure, but he then lifted his hand and pulled the cowl back form his face. Everyone stared in shock, except Roy and Wally of course since they already knew who Batman was. In fact, even though the others were looking at Batman mask-less, it was only Artemis who quickly recognized him as the others didn't live in Gotham or pay attention to politics, celebrities or media unless it had to do with them or it was something they found interesting.

"Wait, you're Bruce Wayne. The multi-billionaire." Artemis said, her brain feeling like it was about to overload.

"Yes I am." Batman, no, Bruce confirmed, his voice just as deep as his vigilante persona.

"Then that makes Robin," Zatanna started, then paused. Hearing the name Bruce Wayne made her recall the man from some event he was at one time they were visiting Gotham, and reminded her that he had a son, but she couldn't remember his name.

"Richard Grayson." Bruce finished.

"But he prefers to be call Dick." Wally added, much to the confusion of the others.

"Seriously?" Conner asked. "That's his name?"

"Yes it is, and yes he has heard all the jokes already." Roy chimed in, the corner of his mouth twitching up.

As the others frowned at the strange choice of nickname the youngest hero had chosen for himself, Artemis now struggled to process that Dick Grayson was Robin. She knew him from school. He was a sophomore and would often show up when least expected. She had always found it a little strange, even if those times he popped up he'd be helping her or just checking to see how she was doing. At first, she thought he had a crush on her or something, he never flirted with her or even attempted to. Now it all made sense. He had just been a friend and teammate, and apparently he was a troll as she recalled the first time she saw Dick Grayson at school.

"We'll laugh about this someday."

Artemis was broken out of her reverie when Bruce said, "He is in his room right now and you all can see him, but don't let him do anything that could aggravate his injuries."

"We won't, we promise." Kaldur assured him.

Again, Bruce stared at them, then looked over his shoulder and said, "Alfred will take you all up to his room."

It was only then the young heroes noticed an elderly man standing by a staircase on the far end of the Cave. Immediately, they went over to him and he led them up and out of the Cave, into the Manor above. Bruce watched until they were gone before making his way to the Batcomputer. He had a lot of work to and not just with Gotham criminals. Slade Wilson was still out there and the best way to make sure he never went after his son again was to get him in jail where he belonged.

YJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJ

Dick was nervous. Bruce had told him last night before he went to sleep that he had decided to let the Team know their identities and bring them to the Manor for a visit. Only if Dick was up to it of course. The teenager immediately said yes but now that the time was coming, he was starting to doubt himself. He trusted his friends, it's just the last time he saw them, last time they had seen him, he was in bad shape. He was badly injured and not mentally in a good place.

They had never seen him like that before. What if they now think he's weak or something? Though none of his friends ever acted like it, there were times Dick couldn't help but wonder if they thought he wasn't as capable as them because he didn't have powers. It made him work harder so he could keep up, which he did fairly well, however he still worried about it. Just because he was human didn't mean he didn't know what he was doing. What if they were know doubting his strength and ability after seeing what Slade did to him?

A knock at the door pulled Dick from his thoughts and his eyes towards the door, just in time to see it open and Alfred's head peak in. "Master Richard? They are here."

"They can come in." Dick told him, pushing himself so he could sit upright on his bed.

Alfred nodded and his head disappeared. Seconds later, a figure zoomed into the room yelling, "Dick!"

"Hey Wally." Dick said with a grin as Wally appeared by his side. Seeing the other members of the Team along with Roy enter the room, he added, "Hey guys."

"If any of you need anything, I shall be down in the kitchen." Alfred informed him from his spot in the doorway.

"Thanks Alfred." Dick replied, giving the butler a smile, which was returned before he left the room, closing the door as he went.

Once he was gone, the young heroes made themselves comfortable on the bed beside their friend. Except for Kaldur that is. He remained standing at the foot of the bed, almost as though he was keeping guard over them. Wally, Roy and Zatanna sat the closest to Dick, so close they were nearly smothering him. Placing a hand on Dick's shoulder, Zatanna asked, "How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright. Bored, there's not much I can do right now, but I'm better than I was before." Dick answered, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Well you definitely look better." Roy informed him, glad to see his little brother in much better condition compared to the last time he saw them. He had been haunted by how badly Dick was injured for the last few weeks while they waited for news.

"How long until you're back on your feet?" Conner wondered, looking over him with his x-ray vision to see how he was healing. He was happy to find that he was indeed healing but it still looked like he had a ways to go.

"It'll be a while yet." Dick confirmed, glancing down at his legs. "Slade messed up my legs good."

"We're so sorry Rob, I mean, Dick." M'gann said, tears starting to well up in her eyes as the guilt of their friend suffering for a month before they were able to find him started flooding her body just as strongly as it did when they first rescued him.

Dick however, shook his head. "It's not your guys' fault. No one would've expected Slade to kidnap me, and you guys found me as fast as you could."

"We should've found you sooner." Roy insisted, clenching his jaw.

"I'll be okay." Dick insisted, reaching over to pat the archer's leg comfortingly.

"Will you?" The speedster couldn't help but ask, remembering with crystal clarity how badly hurt Dick was during those few hours they were stuck in the bioship before they could get to the Watchtower.

Dick was silent for a minute before admitting, "It'll take time. Bruce is wanting me to talk to Canary about it. Haven't really decided if I will, but I promise, I'll be okay."

"We'll be here every step of the way." Kaldur assured him from his spot, overlooking the entire team, who all nodded in agreement.

"Thanks." Dick responded, giving them a smile but grateful grin. His fears hadn't come true. Despite seeing him at one of his weakest points, they were still with him.

"It'll be much easier too now that we know who you are." Raquel said with a slight smirk.

"Speaking of which," Artemis drew everyone's attention before jokingly glaring at Dick as she said, "'We'll laugh about this someday'?"

Dick immediately started laughing despite his sore throat and throbbing ribs and wheezed out, "It's true."

"Wait, what?" Roy questioned. Everyone else looked a confused as well except for Wally. Dick had told him all about Artemis's first day at his school and how he took a picture with her even though she had no clue who he was.

"Dick Grayson goes to Gotham Academy, the school I go to." Artemis started to explain, glancing at the others before looking back at Dick. "On my first day, he runs up to me, takes a picture of the two of us and says, 'We'll laugh about this someday'."

"You are such a troll dude." Wally informed him through his chuckles while everyone else burst into laughter.

"I couldn't help it. It was too good of an opportunity." Dick somewhat defended himself as his own laughter started to die down.

Leaning back against the pillows, Dick looked over his friends. He had missed them so much while he was stuck with Slade and during the last few weeks while he recovered. Just being around them made him feel lighter. And it was made even better now that they knew who he really was. No more secrets.

Smiling brightly at them, Dick said, "I'm really glad you guys are here."

"So are we." Wally responded, then gently pulled his best friend into a hug, which the others immediately joined.

Two Months Later…

Dick couldn't stop smiling. After weeks of healing, Leslie, Alfred and Bruce reluctantly agreed that he had healed enough to go back on patrol. He was so excited, having gotten more and more restless with each passing day. However, he could tell that Bruce and Alfred didn't really want him to go back out on patrol. They were still in overprotective mode. During his sessions with Dinah, she kept reminding him to think about how scared his guardians were when he was kidnapped whenever he complained about them to her.

As much as he didn't like therapy, Dick couldn't deny that talking with Dinah had been helpful. Though he had known all along that Slade was trying to manipulate and brainwash him, she helped him see it more and helped him process it and recover, along with all the other trauma that had unfortunately come up. Specifically with the brand Slade burned into his skin. That had really messed with his head. But with his therapy sessions, and Leslie helping find a way to cover it, he truly started to get better.

When she gave Bruce the all clear though on him going out as Robin, he no longer had that good of an excuse to keep him home. Simply banning or firing him from being Robin, didn't work. Especially when he was fit. It only ended with Dick finding a way to sneak out behind his back. That didn't mean Bruce wasn't constantly checking on him though.

"You alright?" Bruce inquired, glancing at him from the corner of his eyes even though they were currently on a stakeout.

"I'm fine." Dick assured him, despite having done so hundreds of times by now.

"I can always get the Batmobile to take you home. It's only your first night out on patrol, it's okay if you want to cut it short." Bruce reminded him, the concern and worry in his voice only noticeable to those who knew him extremely well.

"It's already going to be shorter than normal." Dick complained with a small pout. When Bruce fully turned his head to look at him, the young teenager gave him a sincere smile and repeated, "I'm fine."

"You'll tell me if you're not." Bruce may have worded it like a question, but there was no doubt that it was actually an order.

"Promise." Dick responded, still smiling. As much as Bruce's smothering could be a bit annoying, he knew that it would be a little while yet until he fully realized that Dick was safe.

"Good." Bruce said, then turned back to focus on their target, waiting for him to make a move.

Dick did the same, but after a minute of silence, he quietly revealed, "I'm glad to be out here again."

With a rare smile, Bruce replied, "Me too."

YJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJYJ

Slade watched silently in the shadows, blending into them almost as well as Batman. A hundred yards away, high up in the air, Robin flew alongside Batman for the first time in three months. It was quite a sight, and probably a welcome one to those who appreciated and loved Gotham's crimefighters. To Deathstroke the Terminator however, it made him thoughtful. And a little disappointed.

Nearly everyday for the last two weeks, he snuck through the city in search of the young hero. He knew the injuries he gave him, knew how long it would take him to recover. Based on that, and the knowledge he had gained of Richard Grayson, he knew it wouldn't be long before he returned to the streets. For a moment, Slade wondered if he would actually see Robin, if Batman, Bruce Wayne, would let his son back out in the fight against the criminals and psychos. He might've tried to keep him out, but from Slade's limited time with the boy, he doubted it would've worked.

Staring as the two birds flew out of sight, Slade couldn't deny feeling a mix of respect and disappointment. He was disappointed that the boy wasn't at his side. Richard was extremely skilled, talented and incredibly strong. Not just physically, but mentally. Even though there were times Richard would buckle under the torture and training, he fought against it more than anyone his age would. Even during the times he seemed to have given up, Slade knew deep down he'd never truly have the boy's loyalty. The minute he would have a chance to escape, or would see one of his fellow heroes, he'd run and nothing Slade could do would change that, short of completely destroying him that is. And he wasn't going to do that to such a unique and skilled person.

Now that he was satisfied that the boy was indeed okay, Slade turned away. There was no need to stay any longer. The longer he stayed, the more likely it was that Batman would find out he was here. And Slade didn't want to deal with a furious and vengeful Batman. Besides, he had a meeting with the Light soon about something important. He shouldn't keep them waiting.

AN – And that concludes the story and this little series! I hope you all liked this chapter and this story!
