A/N: Hi everyone! I am very sorry for the very late updates. I had a big move and life has been difficult and stressful. I lost motivation but it's back now so hopefully I'll continue knocking out some chapters. Without further ado, Chapter six!

No one's point of view

"Ah there she is! Hello little sister! What have you been up to?" Rebekah rolled her eyes at Kol and his dramatics.

"None of your business, Kol. If you're all allowed to come and go as you please then so am I. Now why is everyone gathered here?" By everyone she meant her brothers and Mother. They were standing in the Mansions entrance room. Niklaus stepped forward, his hands clasped behind his back.

"Well you see our dear mother has come to the conclusion to promote a united front that we should host a ball in a few days. To say hello to the town and bond" His voice was sarcastic, he still was processing his mother's return and his family all together again. It'd been a thousand years since they'd all stood in the same room. Especially since he'd been the cause of all their deaths at one point or another. There was anxiety in his ocean eyes as he watched his mother glance between all her children. Something felt off, though Niklaus Mikaelson was known for his paranoia and so he let instead the paralyzing fear of loneliness win it's internal battle and started to hope she truly wanted them to be a family again. Esther smiled at him in thanks for him explaining to Rebekah before turning and facing everyone from the bottom steps of the grand staircase.

"Yes, Niklaus is correct, I believe if we are to truly start on rebuilding our family in the town we once lived in as one we must develop much more amiable bonds with the others. I've begun discussions with the Mayor and Sheriff and hope that their trust will spread. The only issues I can see presenting themselves will be any reckless behavior from any of it, especially regarding Elena Gilbert and her friends and family. I do not wish to hear of any fighting or attacks. Am I clear?" The Mikaelson siblings all felt varying degrees of chastised and irritation at their Mothers words. Finn obviously, ever the dutiful son immediately agreed though felt a small pang in his chest at the fact it could mean having to stop his nightly watches over his mate, Elena Gilbert's sister. Elijah felt quite contrite over the slight condescension coming from his mother, it had been over a thousand years since she had ordered them around and they were very much adults. Well… he was. Niklaus was irritated at the fact that it meant he'd have to put a stop to his hybrids, while Kol and Rebekah shared the same irritation at not being able to cause chaos. However they all wanted something very similar, to not be alone. So they all nodded their heads and she smiled again. "Good. Now let's plan that ball, shall we?"

(Break)

After their shopping spree, Caroline dropped Fallon back at The Grill. Matt was still at the front taking orders and serving so she shot him a smile and went to the back to shoot pool for a bit since she didn't want to go home just yet. The house felt so strange without her parents or Jenna. And while she loved her siblings and was happy to be with them again, she couldn't help but feel she wasn't quite a part of their world anymore. Elena was always gone and her situation with the Salvatore brothers was confusing. And Jeremy seemed in a cycle of wanting to spend time with her and then just randomly running off. Of course she couldn't be that upset over any secrets being kept seeing as she had a few pretty big ones of her own, it just absolutely sucked knowing they all had changed so much and she wasn't sure it would ever be the same. Taking a breath, she pulled the pool back before hitting the balls. The doors to The Grill opened up and she glanced up to see Rebekah walking straight over to her. Confusion rippled across Fallon's face before she smiled.

"Hi, Bex? What brings you to the Grill?"

"Bex?" The baffled look on Rebekah's face was comical and Fallon giggled.

"Yeah", she moved around the side of the pool table to take another shot, "It's a nickname, you never had one?" The last part was said jokingly.

"I just… didn't realize we were close enough for that" Fallon stood straight.

"I mean I suppose we're not super close but we could be and besides I give everyone a nickname and Bex fits you. If it makes you uncomfortable I'll stop"

"No! No, it's okay, I'm fine with it I guess…. You know what nevermind" She smiled flicking blonde hair over her shoulder before pulling an envelope out of her pocket " I was here to give this to someone else but I feel i would have a much better time going with someone who might actually enjoy my presence" Fallon grabbed a hold of the envelope and began opening it.

You have cordially been invited to a ball hosted by the Mikaelsons. The ball shall be held in three days time. Dress formally.

Plus one of Rebekah Mikaelson

Fallon was practically vibrating with excitement.
"A ball?! Rebekah I'd love to go with you! I love dressing up, thank you for inviting me. Though for curiosity's sake, who were you here to invite?" Rebekah glanced behind them up towards the front. There was a look of longing in her eyes but it was gone as quickly as it appeared.

"Matthew Donovan, but I don't think we'd have nearly as much fun together as we will" Fallon felt there was more to the story and she sent out some feelers. The emotions she got back were anticipation, rejection, anxiety, loneliness and so many more. The gist of it however was that Matt or someone said something to hurt her.

"Well, thank you Bex! I'll happily go with you." The two women smiled at each other before saying their goodbyes, Rebekah promising to message the plans. Fallon returned to her game of pool trying to think of all the dress shops nearby she could go to before the town cleared them out. She was interrupted again by one Matt Donovan.

"Please tell me she didn't just invite you to the ball?" There was true fear in his voice that made Fallon extremely confused.

"She did…. Why? Why is everyone so damn uptight about them? Rebekah seems really nice. I haven't gotten any bad vibes from her?" Fallon knew she could tell bad intentions from a mile away though sadly, no one else knew that.

Matt's lips pursed as if he was trying to find a reason to give her.

"She's just.. Not the best company to keep, Fallon." Irritation sliced through her like a knife. Why was everyone treating her as a child?!

"Bug boy I love you but everyone needs to stop trying to tell me who I can and cannot befriend" With that she turned and left the grill, a glare on her usually soft and open face. As she was exiting the doors she bumped into a hard chest. She stumbled back before hands steadied her.

"I am so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going that was completely my fault are you-" Her frantic apologies were halted by the voice and she looked up.

"It's completely fine, no harm done"

The soft and elegant voice did absolutely no justice to the face it belonged to. A sharp jaw and chocolate eyes, a wisp of matching brown hair falling into them. She watched as some type of deep recognition passed across those eyes. Then a few feelings she could not place when she reached out she felt longing, fear, desire, awe, and disbelief. Suddenly his face didn't seem so closed off, as if he'd been wearing a mask before and it had slipped away. He reached a hand out.

"My name is Elijah Mikaelson, I don't believe we've met"
