The silence in the room was boarder line scary as Harry and Ron didn't break eye contact. Daphne, who was once sitting on the chair next to Ron, excused herself. Knowing very well the conversation that needed to accrue did not need her involved. This conversation needed to happen between the two men alone.

"Ron, please say something! Anything!" Harry pleased after breaking eye contact. "I will tell you whatever you need to hear."

After another few moments of silence, Ron simply asked, "How far along is she?"

"About twenty-one weeks. Almost five months." Harry answered honestly. He knew it wouldn't do any good trying to lie about how far along Daphne was. The lie would have to continue, claiming the baby came early. When indeed, the baby came on time.

"Five months?" Ron repeated as he counted back the months, "Did you sleep with her before or after you divorced my sister?"

Dragging his hand down his face, he knew that this question was going to come up. "After. I never cheated on Ginny."

"How did you end up with her?" Ron asked, leaning his elbows on his knees, "I didn't even know that you and Daphne talked to each other."

Harry then told Ron how Daphne came into his life and how they found themselves in this predicament. He went to Daphne and Hermione's apartment looking for Hermione but found the blonde. Instead of how they drank more wine than he ever had in his life. And once they started to become actual friends, Daphne told him the news. Then he proposed, and she rejected him until she finally decided to give him a chance and how happy he has been ever since.

"Did you know that I came here to set you up on a date with someone?" Ron asked, giving his best mate a questioning look.

That was not the response Harry was expecting. He was expecting the redhead to throw a tantrum, as he would have at Hogwarts. Harry puzzling, answered, "No, I didn't know that. How would I know that?"

"That's a good question, isn't it?" Ron asked as Harry nodded in agreement, "Maybe it's because you haven't been talking to me since you and Gin split. How was I supposed to know that you have a girlfriend?"

"Ron, I've meant to tell you. It's just I didn't know how you would react."

"I'm your best mate!"

"I know you are! But Ron, look through it with my eyes. I just got divorced from your sister and slept with another woman that same night. You weren't quite on top of the list to tell anything to."

After thinking about what Harry said, Ron nodded his head in agreement, "No, you're right. I wouldn't have wanted to tell me either. But you should have told me when you fell in love with her."

If Harry was drinking anything, he was sure that liquid would be coming out of his nose right now. And he was also thankful Daphne left a while ago. "What?"

"Harry, come one," leaning back into his chair, with a bit of humor in his voice, "I spent like five minutes with you and Daphne, and even I can tell you fell hard and fast for her."

"You don't think it's too soon?"

"What after Ginny? Or after you knocked her up?" The laughter in his voice disappeared when Harry gave him an annoyed look.

"Ron, seriously, what do you think?"

Shrugging his shoulders, "All that matters is what you think, Harry."

"What if it is too soon?"

"Answer me this honestly. When you were with Gin, did you ever feel as happy with her as you are right now with Daphne?" The silence was enough for Ron to know the answer. The redhead also knew there was more to Harry not telling him the big news. "You know I'm not the same person you grew up with. I'm not going to stop talking to know because you did something that I may disagree with. We're not fifteen anymore."

"I know, I know. It's just, what will other people think? I didn't exactly know I was going to find myself in this type of situation."

"Who cares what other people think, Harry! All that matters is what you think and feel for Daphne. Everyone will get over it, no matter how soon it was after Ginny." Ron said, crossing his arms across his chest. "The public's opinion doesn't matter."

"It's not the public I'm worried about," Harry mumbled.

Ron's confusion disappeared when he realized Harry was talking about the rest of the Weasleys. "Why are you worried? Is it Mum? Gin?"

"Both? I don't know." Harry shrugged, "I'm not bad-mouthing Gin, but I have never been this happy. But you know all I have ever wanted was to have a family."

"And marrying Ginny was like becoming part of our family." Ron finished, knowing that was always important to Harry. "But you still didn't have your own, and when Ginny decided that she didn't want to have children. It felt like that door was closing?"

"Exactly! Daphne is giving me that." Harry said, looking over at the ultrasound photo he had on his desk. The one they found out they had a daughter. While Harry didn't care what the sex of the baby was, Daphne knew from the moment she picked out the paint color for the nursery. And luckily for him, she was right. Otherwise, he would've repainted the whole room. "I didn't mean to forget about you and your family."

Nodding his head in understanding, "Mum has wanted to reach out, but dad told her to keep some distance. That if you still wanted to be a part of our family, you would be."

"I do. Truly." Harry confirmed.

"Come by the Burrow. See mum and dad." Ron suggested. "Maybe come to a Saturday dinner?"

"I don't know if I'm ready for that." He replied, playing with a replenishing pen that Cyrus gifted him when apologizing for his behavior. "Maybe one on one time? Have them meet Daphne without everyone else."

Agreeing right away, "Maybe I could get to know Daphne as well."

"I would like that. How about tonight?" Harry suggested, knowing Hermione and Astoria would be there to keep some pressure off of Daphne.

"What's for dinner?" Ron asked, getting up from his spot. "Or, more importantly, who's cooking?"

"It'll be me." Harry laughed as he followed Ron to the door.

"Thank Merlin! I love Hermione, but that witch can't cook to save her life."

"No, no, she can't." Stopping by the door, Harry turned back to Ron, "Who were you going to set me up with?"

"Susan Bones," Ron said, shrugging his shoulders, "I don't know. I figured redheads were your type."

When Harry got back to Daphne's apartment, he found her sitting on the edge of the couch, looking nervous.

"How'd it go?" She asked as he took a seat next to her. Ever since Daphne was a little girl, her nervous habit was picking at her nails. It was partially why she never painted her nails. The nail polish would never stay on for long periods; the other reason was she never understood why anyone would want their fingers nails to be bright pink. "I hope you didn't lose a friend because of me."

Harry brushed her finger gently, waiting for them to open up for him to hold, "No, I didn't lose a friend. Ron is actually going to come over for dinner."

"You invited him here?" Daphne asked, her nerves changing for a completely different reason, "No one has started cooking yet. And from what I remember in the Great Hall, Ron's stomach is an empty pit."

"You are correct," Harry laughed, pulling her into a hug, "I will take care of the food. I did invite him here to your loft and not my own."

"Hermione is here. I completely understand."

"Good." Kissing her on the top of her head, "I'm going to get started. Is Astoria going to be here as well?"

Following him into the kitchen, "No, she has a date, I believe."

"Oh? With who?"

"No idea, honestly. Tori doesn't like involving me with her love life. Says I am far too controlling on who she should date."

"You are just trying to look out for her." Harry said, smiling as he found a brisket in the fridge, "Pot roast sound good?"

"Always."

"When did Ronald say he'll be here?" Hermione asked as she helped Daphne set the kitchen table.

"He told Harry around eight, I believe," Daphne stated as she filled up a pitcher of water. "This won't be awkward for you, would it?"

Hermione shook her head, "no, it won't. Ronald and I are fine. Both moved on."

"What about Theo?"

"He's fine with it too. We recently went on a double date with Ronald and his newest conquest, and everything was fine."

"Conquest?" Daphne laughed, "Who was it?"

Waving her hand, "Oh, it doesn't matter. Whoever Ronald dates never last more than a week, I swear."

"Just like Tori." Daphne turned her head when she heard a knock on the door. "Harry! I believe Ron is here!"

Harry stood up from his conversation with Theo. Which was better, football or quidditch? Theo was siding with quidditch as Harry was cheering for football. The last time he cheered for quidditch, he became someone's ex-husband.

"Ron, hi!" Harry cheered, clapping his best mate's back. "Thank you for making it!"

"Of course, mate!" Ron said, stepping into the threshold, handing Harry a bottle of elfish wine and a bouquet. "Thanks for making me over. I will have to apologize to Daphne. There were some chocolates, but the line at the grocer was too long, and I ate them."

"At the grocers?" Harry laughed as he led Ron into the living room. "Don't they get mad when they see you eating their merchandise?"

"Not as long as you pay for it," Sitting down on the free chair, Harry took back his spot on the couch, "Nott, how are you?"

"Weasley, I need you to answer this straightforward question," Waiting for the red-head to nod his head to go on, Theo asked, "Is football better than quidditch?"

"What? Football better than quidditch? Are you bloody joking?" Ron exclaimed, "Quidditch is much better than bloody football."

"Yes, thank you!" Theo cheered before turning to Harry. "See, quidditch will always trump football."

"Alright, boys, no more of this quidditch talk." Daphne said, walking into the living room, "Ron, it's good to see you."

"You too, Daphne," Ron said, standing up from his spot. "I just want you to know that I know you and Harry didn't start anything before he and Ginny divorced."

Nodding her head in shock, "Uh, well, thank you, Ron."

"Also, I would like to put my hat in the ring for godfather."

"I'll see what I can do," Daphne said with a small smile on her face as Theo started to make a commotion.

"You said I could be the godfather!"

"Ignore him, and I still have no idea what Hermione sees in him." Daphne said as she threw a pillow at Theo's face, "She deserves much better than a pompous asshole."

"Daph, your words, they wound me."

"So there I was on the other side of the fallen rocks with an Obvilated Lockheart, as Harry goes and takes all the glory by slaying a basilisk. Oh, and poor Hermione was turned into a cat. Which I feel is never talked enough about!"

The dinner with Ron was going much better than Daphne had expected. The table was quiet for a few minutes while everyone enjoyed Harry's pot roast, paired with a buttery croissant. It wasn't until Ron went for his second helping and Hermione commented about how the redhead was a bottomless pit that the atmosphere changed. Ron, Harry, and Hermione were feeding off each other as they told stories from Hogwarts. Stories that Daphne and Theo thought were just gossip.

"I can't believe that you fought a basilisk our second year. Weren't you just terrified?" Daphne asked, playing with the hair on the back of Harry's neck. As Theo and Hermione talked about how the curly-haired witch was coughing up furballs for a month.

Harry, never wanting to talk about himself, began playing with the few carrots that were still on his plate. "Of course, I was scared. But I had to save Ginny."

The more she heard stories about her boyfriend's ex, Daphne was slowly beginning to understand how Harry and Ginny married so young in life. Saving someone and then fighting with them as you get older would make you trust the other person. Getting married seemed like the logical step in their relationship.

"It's his people-saving thing," Hermione said with a smile on her face.

"People saving thing?"

Hermione explained how whenever Harry saw someone who needed help. He would be the one to help them. No matter what was going on in his life, he would push it all aside to ensure that the other person was okay. Sometimes even put himself in life or death situations if it called for it.

"That's why you asked me to marry you, isn't it?" Daphne asked as a blushing Harry nodded his head in response. Kissing his temple gently before whispering, "Oh, Harry, you have such a good heart. I am so happy you are my baby's father."

A smile grew on Harry's lips, practically wiping the embarrassment off, "I'm happy that you are the mother of my baby."

"Alright, you two, stop being all lovey-dovey," Ron said, throwing a roll at Harry, with his seeker skills, caught it with ease. Ron waited for the couple to finish the moment they were having before asking, "Now, who wants to hear the time Hermione confundus McLaggen?"

"As in Cormac?" Astoria asked, making everyone at the dining table jump, "Wow, for a table full of Gryfinndors and Slytherins, you sure are jumpy."

"I didn't know that you would be coming back so early," Daphne said, getting up from her seat to hug her sister. "Did the date not go well?"

Shrugging her shoulders, "It went fine, Daph. We just ran out of things to talk about, and neither one of us felt a connection."

"A connection? Since when do you want a connection?" Theo asked as Daphne began to load a plate up for her sister. "You have slept with people with who you needed no connection before."

"Yes, I'm aware," Astoria said, throwing a roll at Theo. But instead of Theo catching it like Harry, the roll hit him square in the nose. Giving a satisfied smirk, she continued, "I just wanted to try something a little bit different. And he went along with it at first, but then as the night went on, we had less and less to talk about. He wanted something I didn't want to give him."

"Well, good for you. Maybe now you can find someone to settle down with." Hermione said with a small smile on her face. Once Astoria returned from her trip away, and Daphne began staying the night at Harry's, the younger girl had become a little sister to Hermione.

"Hermione, you are starting to sound like Daphne. I am going to need you to stop." Astoria said with a smile on her face.

"I get what you mean." As Astoria turned to him, Ron stated, "My mum would bloody love it if I settled down. Nags me on it every time I go home."

Nodding her head, agreement, "It's like if it happens, it happens. I'm not going to push it."

"I completely agree," Holding out his head towards the younger witch, "Ron Weasley."

"Astoria Greengrass."
