MIDORIYA

TWO DAYS LATER

Things have been great! Now that Todoroki and I admitted we love each other we have been talking with no problem. I'm so happy. He agreed to work at his dad agency mostly for experience. He plans to do it for one year before resigning. I honestly think people will take him regardless because he is such a talented hero. Our parents went out once again and we stayed behind. We are currently on the beach with a few other people. This the best day by far. The weather is really nice. Todoroki and I took our shoes off and walked in the water.

"So what are you going to school for?" asked Todoroki.

"Business management," I reply. "I really want to be a contractor like I told you."

"I think that will be good for you," he replies. "Did you ever get that second opinion about your quirk?" I glance at him in amazement because he really believes it is a quirk.

"No," I reply. "I'm okay not knowing, really. I have accepted who I am."

"It's a quirk if you ask me," he replies. "I hope you don't mind if I call it that." I begin to blush as I get a little teary eyed. Why didn't I have a friend like him when I was younger. I could have really used the support. I rub my eyes to keep from crying.

"Todoroki I have been wanting to talk to you about something," I say slowly. He looks at my curiously.

"It's not about….."

"No, not that!" I exclaim trying to hide my embarrassment. Todoroki nods.

"You can ask me anything," he replies. I look at him not believing this. His classmates are lucky to get a hi out of him. I think back to when he said talking to me is easy. In this moment I am super glad.

"I wanted to know about your mom," I say bluntly looking at him.

"I don't know much about her," he replies almost immediately. That was a bit too fast in my opinion.

"Okay…" I replied. "I was doing some research and I couldn't find anything on her pass the age of 4 I think you were at the time. I mean it's like she just disappeared." Todoroki glances down at this point. He takes a deep breath closing his eyes.

"I barely remember her," he says softly. "Everything is so fuzzy now. Sometimes I remember her but it's hard. I can't remember much before the burning…" No…. "My mom caused this scar of my face. Instead of having her brought up on charges my dad has her put in a home. She is well taken care of. Has regular sessions for her unresolved issues, I guess. My father has forbidden me from seeing her in fear she would hurt me again."

"That is so horrible," I reply in shock. "You haven't seen your mom since you were 4?" He nods. "I can't believe it. I mean what about your brothers and your sister?"

"To my knowledge they see her from time to time," he replies.

"Wait a minute," I reply. "How is it okay for them to see her but not you?"

"Like I said my dad is afraid she will hurt me again," he states.

"Todoroki, it's been well over 10 years," I reply. "I think you should see her. Find out what happened in her words."

"I never had the time," he explains. "I mean it use to hurt so much in the beginning when she was taken there. I just focused on my dad's training and nothing else. I never got play with my siblings or have any real friends. It was just easier to keep everyone at a distant." I look at him realizing how his dad really almost fucked him up. I am at a loss for words.

"How did you um meet your boyfriend then?" I ask. He twists his neck looking at me like I'm crazy.

"I thought you wanted to know about my mom," he states.

"Well yeah now I want to know about your boyfriend," I reply trying not to sound scare. "I mean if you couldn't have friends…"

"I met him interning at my dad's agency," he says cutting me off. "He's an okay guy. Pretty strong in personality. Doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks. It's what I like about him. Like you he didn't try to kiss my ass. If anything, he was rude as fuck when I first met him."

"Wow and you guys ended up dating," I replied. Todoroki face begins to turn red. Is he embarrassed?

"Yes and no," he replies. "Do you mind if we talk about something else?" I wonder does he not like his ex-boyfriend or something. He never mentions the guy by name at all. "Are you gay?" I am startled out of my thoughts.

"Um I never thought about it much," I admit. "I think I'm bisexual. I like girls but you're…" Todoroki stares making me nervous as hell. "Never mind…."

"I don't like labels," he replies. "I'm going to be who I want to be with and date who I want. Well I can't date you and I kind of wish I could." I cover my face feeling overwhelmed like the day I did when I told him I loved him. Well sort of. "I'm sorry did I upset you?"

"No," I reply shaking my head. "I'm just so…..I don't know….I can't describe it." Todoroki nods. He changes the subject to something lighter. Like how our parents are suffocating us. It almost doesn't feel like a spring break as they want to do something every single day. I am use to my mom being like this but if I want space she will usually give it to me. It's getting dark so we head back to the rental house. We head inside cutting on a few lights.

"I wonder what our parents are doing," Todoroki questions walking into the living.

"Planning the wedding I'm sure," I reply. "My mom gets to have her dream wedding. It was kind of a courthouse thing with my dad."

"Hmmm," he says. "You seem like you don't like your dad."

"He's never around," I explain. "His job was more important than anything. It got worse when my parents found out I would never have a quirk. My mom was supportive but dad…"

"You don't have to say anymore," he replies. "What should we do dinner?"

"You got plenty of soba in there," I reply. "Let me try it." Todoroki laughs.

"Hot or cold?" he asks.

"Hot," I reply before smiling.

"I will do the same," he replies. "It can be hard to cook so bear with me." Todoroki not being good at something, I doubt it. Todoroki moves into the kitchen to start fixing the soba. I wonder if it will be like this when we are roommates. My phone rings and I see that it is Shinsou calling. I answer then walking upstairs for privacy.

"Hello," I greet.

"Well look who finally answered the phone," says Shinsou.

"I'm sorry," I apologize. "I've been going through some things."

"Uh huh," he replies. "I was calling to tell you I got a date!"

"What!" I exclaim.

"I know but she's so not what I was expecting," he replies. "You might know her."

"Me?" I question. "Wait, does she go to U.A.?"

"Yeah," he replies. "Ashido Mina."

"Wow….."

"I met her online," he explains. "I didn't even know it was her. We were kind of gaming together, then we started talking. She is pretty awesome." I chuckle.

"I'm happy for you," I reply.

"Thanks," he replies. "I'm not sure what to do on our first date. Do you know anything about her at all?"

"Not really," I reply. "I can ask Todoroki though."

"I don't want him to know!" he exclaims.

"I won't mention the date," I explain.

"Maybe…." he replies. "I'm surprised you two are getting along so well. I recall you not liking me to bring him up."

"I said I was going through some stuff…." I mutter. "I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted," he replies. I talk with Shinsou until dinner is ready. I sit with Todoroki at the table.

"Do you know how to eat soba?" he asks.

"Um no," I reply. Todoroki smiles and I almost drop my chop sticks. So gorgeous. Has he begun to smile more or is it just me?

"You want to grab the noodles," he explains. "Dip the noodles into the bowl." Todoroki dips the noodles and I follow behind his movements. "Make sure it is nicely coated." He allows the broth sauce to coat the noodles. Todoroki begins eating the noodles once the dripping stops. I take a bite and slurp up my noodles surprised by how much flavor I'm getting. "You like it!" I am too busy going for another dip.

"It's incredible!" I exclaim. "I can't believe I never tried this!"

Todoroki smiles as he begins to focus back on his soba. I'm good and full by the time we are done. We head upstairs to relax for the evening. Our parents arrive right when I just got done with my shower and into bed. Todoroki opens the bedroom door allowing them inside.

"You guys having fun?" asked mom. I nod pulling back the covers.

"Mom," I reply. "Todoroki and I wanted to go off on our own Friday."

"You don't want to spend time with us?" she asks.

"It's not that…" I reply.

"I need a breather," explains Todoroki. "I mean no disrespect."

"What's going on?" asked Enji poking his head in the room. Oh god…..

"Nothing," she replies. "We get the day to ourselves on Friday. Isn't that great!"

"Oh really?" he questions.

"Yup," replies mom. "The boys are going downtown Friday. We at least get to spend some time with them the next two days. Seems fair to me." Enji smirks reminding me of Todoroki slightly. He leans into my mom wrapping his arm around her waist.

"What ever should we do….." he mutters.

"I can think of a few things….." says mom before kissing him. Todoroki and I glance at each other.

"Thanks," says Todoroki. "We will catch a cab to downtown." Enji pulls away from my mom.

"Great," says Enji. "What did you guys eat for dinner?"

"Soba," I reply. "It's so good." Enji shakes his head.

"You need more protein and vegetables Shouto," Enji scolds.

"Oh, stop it," says mom slapping his bicep lightly. "He's on spring break, let him enjoy his soba. Come on let the them enjoy their bonding time. We will see you boys in the morning." Mom takes Enji hand into hers leading him out of the room. I actually feel a little jealous because I would love to do that with Todoroki. Todoroki turns on the TV surfing through the channels.
