TODOROKI
I walk outside seeing Takami. He looks at me smirking in his uniform. I fight not to roll my eyes.
"Hi," I greet. "What will be focusing on today?"
"Depends on what happens," he replies. "I was surprised your dad wanted me to mentor to you."
"He expects me to surpass you so of course he would," I reply. Takami laughs.
"With your cold demeanor I doubt it," he replies. "Those good looks will only get you but so far." We begin to walk down the street. "As you know I can fly when I need to get around, so I don't have a car."
"I already know how you do things," I reply. "No need to speak to me as if I know nothing."
"Well we have to wait until my phone notifies me of a crime," he replies. "It also doesn't mean that I am going to go." I shake my head. As I said before he is about his fans and not so much the work. "I think your dad wants to help with your social skills."
"My social skills are just fine," I reply. Takami chuckles.
"You can't be serious?" he questions. I see something flicker in his eye that I don't like. "Hmmm, let me take you to my favorite spot."
You can't be serious," I reply. Takami smiles looking off behind me.
"Endeavor," he states. I turn around seeing my father walk outside in his hero uniform
"Hawks," he replies. "How is everything going?"
"We are just getting started," he replies with a shrug. "Don't really know." My dad doesn't look happy about his answer. "What did you want me to focus on? You know I only respond to criminal acts when I feel like it."
"I was hoping you could show Shouto how to interact with people," he explains. Really dad, god damnit. "Show him how you handle the fans." Takami laughs.
"You didn't want to teach your son your amazing people skills," he says still chuckling. I look at my dad ball up his fist.
"Just do your job," barks my father. He glances at me. "I will see you later son." He walks away going to his car he likes to drive for work only. Takami grins at me.
"Told you," replies Takami. "Taking you to my favorite coffee shop. Let's go." I reluctantly follow him. "How are things going? Wedding is going closer."
"I'm not going to speak on anything personal," I reply cutting to the chase. "Let's just stick to our work."
"I said I was sorry," says Takami. He had called me to apologize like a man, but I didn't answer the phone. I sent him to voicemail every single time. He text me his apology. I did read all his text messages. I didn't respond to a single one of them.
"I accept your apology," I reply. "However, it is better if we keep everything professional." Takami grunts in annoyance before looking away. I glance at him out of the side of my eye. I actually can't read his face. I need eye contact to know the truth. The rest of the walk he is actually quiet, the quietest I have ever seen. We arrive to the coffee shop walking inside. It is clear Takami comes here a lot. People start running over to him so excited to see him.
"Hawks, how are you?" asked one girl with blonde hair. "You haven't been around in weeks."
"Checking out other spots," says Hawks casually. "Glad to know I was missed."
"Are you saying you're bored with us?" pouts the girl with blonde hair.
"Are you Todoroki Shouto?" asks one girl who is the shorter of the two.
"Yes," I reply.
"Didn't know you had friends in high places," the other girl states with a smirk.
"Do you really think so little of me," says Hawks.
"Uh huh," she hums. "The usual?"
"Please," he replies with smirk.
"What would you like Todoroki?" asked one girl.
"I'm fine thank you," I reply. Takami nudges me with his wing. "Chilled green tea would be nice." The girls smile walking off. I glare at Takami. "Is this really necessary?" He nods at me before other people start walking up and interacting with him. He barely says anything but these people love him. They are taking pictures, going on snap chat. I was dragged into participating. After a good hour we finally finish up heading out of the coffee shop.
"That wasn't so bad was it?" he asks as we reach my car back at the office. Takami seems to be confused as to why I feel this way. He should know how I feel regarding this. My opinion hasn't changed at all since we broke up. I get into car starting it up before Hawks could even get comfortable.
"I could have spent my time learning more important things," I explain. "You are much too involved with your fans." Hawks is finally in position where I can take off. I am not even sure where we are going but whatever.
"Never," he chuckles. Takami is staring at me as I drive. I look at him out of the corner of my eye and I know he is deep in thought. I know that face too well.
"Don't do anything stupid," I state.
"What are you talking about?" he asks.
"Whatever the hell you are thinking don't do it," I reply. Takami rolls his eyes before glaring out the window.
"You don't get to tell me what to do with my life," he replies. "Mind your business Todoroki." I'm taken back slightly by his change in tone. On the other hand, I don't mind. Takami instructs me to take him to his other hang out spots. We did manage to get involved in one crime where I ran into Asui and Bakugou. The cops have arrived and they are handing off the criminals. They were trying to steal a whole ATM machine. Takami acted quickly stopping 2 of the guys whereas Bakugou acted recklessly blowing up the ATM machine. There is money everywhere burned or not. Takami is busy talking to the police that arrived at the scene.
"Hey Todoroki," says Asui. "Fancy seeing you here."
"I barely got to do anything," I reply. "I would really like to get more practice at these kinds of scenes."
"U.A. prepared us for most of it," says Asui. "A few old classmates are meeting up this afternoon to hang out if you want to come."
"I don't know….." I reply. "It's not really my thing." Bakugou stomps over mean mugging.
"I got in trouble for blowing up the ATM," he snaps. "Did they want them to get away with the money!"
"It could have been handled better," I replied. Bakugou glares at me.
"I know you aren't talking," he sneers. "You didn't do jack shit."
"I didn't have to," I replied. Bakugou is so immature and I don't have time for this.
"You will do better next time," says Asui.
"There won't be a next time," he replies puffing out his chest. "I'm already great!" I shake my head a little.
"Bakugou will you be at the outing tonight?" asked Asui.
"Maybe," he mutters. "Why?"
"Come on guys," says Asui. "It would be great if we can all meet up. We can swap stories, share advice. This can help us be better heroes!"
"And why would I want to help you guys?" states Bakugou. He has a good point. We are all aiming for that number one spot. I doubt anyone will be able to take that from my dad. Lemillion is climbing the ranks and will soon replace Hawks at this rate. Bakugou walks away.
"Todoroki will be there this evening," says Takami leaning on my shoulder. I move away from him.
"This is my personal life," I reply. "Not work related." Takami holds up his phone.
"I informed your father and you have to go," he replies. Son of bitch! He did that on purpose! "You can use my skills and put them to good use." I hold in a growl as he walks away as an officer just called out to him.
"I'm sorry Todoroki," says Asui. "I didn't want you to be forced to go."
"It's okay," I sigh. I would feel better if I had Midoriya with me. Wait a second. "Can I bring my step brother?"
"Sure," she replies. "We love Midoriya. I'm sure Uraraka wants to get up to speed with him." I can feel a little jealousy building within me.
"Oh," I reply. Asui smiles.
"Yes, Uraraka has a crush on him," says Asui with a giggle. "Keep this between us. Maybe we can help get them together."
"Maybe," I reply lowly. "I will see you later. Where are we meeting at?" Asui informs me she will text me the information as she needs to leave the scene now. Takami walks over to me grinning. "Ready?"
"Yup," he says grinning. I want to knock that grin off his face. I start walk towards the car. I am so deep into my thoughts I didn't hear Takami calling to me.
"What?" I question opening my car door.
"Are you okay?" he asks. I sit down getting comfortable.
"I'm fine," I reply.
"So….you are taking your step brother," says Takami as he gets as comfortable as he can with his wings.
"That isn't any of your concern," I reply. "My personal life if off limits. I already told you this."
"Um hm," hums Takami. "I think Uraraka and Midoriya make a cute couple. She is so fluffy and well…..so is he. What do you think?" I bite my tongue ignoring him. No, they aren't a cute couple. Who am I kidding? If Midoriya wasn't into me him and Uraraka would totally be adorable together. I calm myself down by the time I get back to my dad's office. Midoriya loves me, no one else. There is no need for me to be jealous. I get out the car as I know my dad is waiting for me in his office.
"Thanks for the training," I reply. "Later."
"Sure," smirks Takami. He turns away from me taking off quickly which is surprising. I head into the building making my way up to the top floor. My dad's agency building has 3 floors. He wanted space to grow into. He has a decent amount of people willing to work for him surprisingly. I pull out my phone.
Todoroki: Hey, what are you up to?
Midoriya: I am just on my way home. Everything okay?
Todoroki: Everything is fine. I was invited to meet up with my classmates. Can you come with me? It has been approved.
Midoriya: Approved?
I chuckle to myself.
Todoroki: I didn't want them to think you were crashing the get together.
Midoriya: Excellent! Did you want me to meet you there?
Todoroki: No need in us taking 2 different cars. I can come by and pick you up. Besides I want to shower.
Midoriya: Okay! You looked great online today by the way.
I sigh. Those fans have to post every little thing. I don't like this. I should be able to be a great hero beyond social media. I arrive at my father's office putting up my phone. His secretary smiles when she sees me.
"He is ready for you," she states.
"Thank you," I reply. I open his door heading inside. He is on his computer and smiling? "Dad," He looks up.
"Shouto, how was your day?" he asks still smiling. God this is weird.
"It was okay," I reply. "If you are busy, I can come back."
"Not at all," he replies. "Inko sent me a sonogram of the baby. Want to see?"
"Um no thanks," I reply. He frowns for a minute.
"Sit down and tell me about how everything went with Hawks," he states turning away from his computer. I sit down glaring at him.
"Do you want the truth?" I ask.
"Yes," he replies.
"I don't care for him," I reply. "How he is the number 2 hero is beyond me. I will say he is great when he does act as a hero should. He interacts with his fans way too much for my liking. They were flirting, buying him things, snap chatting, Instagram live, it was too much." Dad nods in agreement.
"I'm glad to know you feel the same way," he replies. "I really wanted to know what is he doing that is so special."
"You don't really want to know the answer to that," I reply. "It is really the fact he never tells his fans no. He treats them as if he has known them forever. I didn't even like the fact I have to mingle with coworkers."
"Indeed," states my father rocking in his chair a little. "I love the fact you are very focused."
"Yes," I reply. "Anything else before I conclude my day."
"Yes," he replies. "What happened with that ATM criminals? You did nothing." I should have seen this coming.
"Hawks acted quickly," I replied.
"You should have been doing the same," states dad folding his arms. "Next time I better see some action."
"Sure," I reply not wanting to argue with him. "Anything else?"
"That's all," he replies with a wave of his hand. "Have a good time tonight. I want to know how this gathering with the other heroes goes tonight." I hold in a growl mad at Takami all over again. God I couldn't get out of that office fast enough. I get to my car getting home as soon as possible. Heading into the apartment I see the lamp on in the living room but know Midoriya is in our bedroom. It's my room but he is always in there so I tend to call it our room. Midoriya is fluffing his hair in the mirror. He is wearing a tee shirt, shorts, and the red sneakers I brought him for Christmas. He turns to look at me.
"Hey!" he exclaims. "I was hoping you would have called me on the way home." I walk over hugging him before kissing the top of his curly green hair.
"I had a lot of my mind and needed the time to think," I admit. Midoriya looks anxious.
"Did he try something?" he asks.
"No," I replied. "Takami did try to pry. I warned him twice. He kept trying and I ignored him." I begin to take off my uniform.
"Well what bothered you?" he asks. "You know you can tell me." I glance at him. He looks so unhappy. I begin to smile. "What?" I pull Midoriya towards me kissing him deeply. He whimpers into our kiss.
"Sorry," I reply pulling out of the kiss. "Just love you so much."
"Shouto…" he says with his voice shaking a little.
"Sorry," I apologize.
"What are you apologizing for?" he asks. "You know I like hearing how you feel."
"I found out one of my old classmates has a crush on you and I got jealous," I admit. Midoriya face drops.
"Really?" he asks. "I-I had no idea."
"I know," I reply. "It doesn't matter. I was upset at first. Then I realized you love me. I have nothing to worry about." Midoriya begins to grin grabbing my hand.
"That's true," he admits. "I love you." He leans in kissing me as I decide to indulge sliding my tongue into his mouth. I bring him closer to my body as I become more excited. "Shouto…..haa….ha…..gathering….nnngghhh…friends." I pull away panting.
"Oh yeah," I reply. "We are going out." Midoriya chuckles as I run to get in the shower.
