Chapter 2: Dr. Feel Good
Review Replies
wolf master97: I'm genuinely, genuinely, genuinely, surprised this isn't a jaws crossover, that came into my head as soon as I saw the queen of the ocean achievement. Unless that's who's just been teased. Ps, is it TMNT or Cyberpunk crossover?
ThermalsniperN7: It's a three way, in a sense.
Dragon Emperor0: Yeah, we couldn't decide if we wanted to just add Cyberpunk elements or make it a crossover, so we just went with it. All in all, I'd say it works.
Spyro fanboy: Can't wait for them to go at it.
2 or 3 girls I think needs to be the limit otherwise it would just get too complicated.
And can you please tell me and those that don't know what TCRI is that would be great thx
ThermalsniperN7: Three is our plan. Also, how do you not know what the TCRI is?
Dragon Emperor0: TCRI is the place where the Utrom conduct their work. And yeah, that's like—not knowing that the turtles favorite food is Pizza! Also, Three is the plan, but that may change depending on how things go with the Truth Quest DLC.
Crofty666: Didn't even know Maneater was getting a DLC, I completed the game 100% in like a week when I managed to get it when it was on offer. It was a nice quick fun game so I hope the DLC is just as good. On a separate note, are you going to make Anthros of each mutation line, including the new ones from the DLC?
ThermalsniperN7: Yep, we're doing all three. The ones from the upcoming DLC, though… That's up in the air until it drops.
Dragon Emperor0: Personally I wouldn't mind doing it, because who knows, it could be pretty cool to have a huge harem of shark girls in this story.
NecrorexSparda Juubi-No-Kishin: Hmm you intrigue me with this scrumptious story. I heavily anticipate the next chapter. Also first reviewer, a first for me
ThermalsniperN7: Glad we caught your attention.
Dragon Emperor0: Same. I'm so glad that this story didn't crash and burn when it was first posted. Though the lack of a lot of Favs and Follows is displeasing, it's probably because Maneater is a relatively new game with a small but growing fan base so no one is actively looking for it on fanfics yet.
Kaiju Avenger:I am loving this idea of yours. I agree that there should be more Maneater fanfics! So, with this being a crossover with TMNT, are the Turtles going to be part of this story? Or will the Turtles be replaced with mutant female sharks? Maybe V's shark girl harem? I can see Raiko Mizukage being the Leonardo of the group. (since she is blue) The Shadow maneater could be the Donatello. (they are both purple) The Bone maneater as the Raphael of the group. (since they both are tough)
And finally the new Evolution, from the new "Truth Quest" DLC, can be the group's Michelangelo. (since I'm pretty sure that evolution will probably be called "Kaiju", and Mikey loves that stuff) As for how they could fight, maybe Cyberpunk technology can download the martial arts into their brains? I saw Jammerhead do it in "TMNT: Fast Forward". They could even, each do a different art. Maybe Raiko would know Ninjutsu, Bone knows Muay Thai, Shadow knows Karate, and "Kaiju" would learn Kung Fu. Just an idea. And besides their own powers/abilities, each of the Shark Girls would wield a different weapon, like the Turtles: Raiko wields a sword(or swords). Bone would use a Kanabo. Shadow would have a Naginata. And "Kaiju" would probably use a "gun sword", or axe, or laser cannon, or plasma sword, or something else? Just another idea. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens next!
ThermalsniperN7: First off, the turtles aren't being replaced. They'll be appearing later on.
Dragon Emperor0: Second… Those ideas could be useful… better write them down. Especially the Kaiju one since one of the Port Clovis landmarks is a Kaiju Gate.
Romance Breeding: I feel bad for Raiko. She has been through WAY too much! I hope that her mutation gave her an advanced healing ability that fixed her c-section. I would love to see what kind of children both her and V would make together!
ThermalsniperN7: It won't be just Raiko. V's got two others swimming his way.
Dragon Emperor0: Their names are Ebony and Ivory, and if you guys like She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, then you'll love these two, because they'll be based on two fan favorites on that show. I won't say who because spoilers.
Story Artist: So, what version of TMNT are you using here? Is it 2003 or 2012? Or are you using a fusion of the two? I mean, the 2003 version of the Shredder is the BEST, in my opinion. He was so mysterious, ruthless, powerful, and intimidating. Oh, and there is also the "Mutants in Manhattan" video game! Some of that version of TMNT would be great additions to this story.
Like, the Utrom Shredder could eventually become the Super Shredder from "Mutants in Manhattan"! Then, V would have to deal with Armaggon trying to take his shark girls. V and the shark girls fighting Mega Krang. Even their version of Bebop and Rocksteady are awesome!
ThermalsniperN7: Hm… that might work.
Dragon Emperor0: Gotta write that down! Gotta write that down! Also, we're using the 2003 version. Though I personally like the 2012 versions of Bebop and Rocksteady, and the Bayverse versions… so it's up in the air right now. Oh! And also—Fuck Armaggon! He's not getting the girls!
IDW Comics: Thank you for this! Sharks need and deserve love!
ThermalsniperN7: Damn right they do!
Dragon Emperor0: You're Welcome. Sharks are my favorite animals next to Dinosaurs and Tigers. Cotoxirina and Megalodon being my two of my favorite Prehistoric sharks. I may have a slight fear of them mistaking me for food, but it's out of respect for these creatures, just like any rational person would fear and respect any predator.
ManeaterLIVES:Finally, a Maneater fanfiction! I've waited a long time for this. I'm surprised that you made it into a triple crossover with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Cyberpunk 2077. I mean, I can see TMNT! But, Cyberpunk? That's...a surprise. What version of the Shredder and Foot are you using? Henil031 on DeviantArt made a redesign of the 2012 TMNT Shredder. He looks so perfect, like he combined 2003 and 2012 Shredders together!
ThermalsniperN7: We're using the 2003 version of the Foot, but that version of the Shredder sounds promising.
Dragon Emperor0: I mean don't get me wrong, 2012 shredder is great, but I honestly prefer the 2003 version the most out of the two. Though having him become the Super Shredder does sound pretty dope…
Question Dude: Will Scaly Pete's son, Kyle, seek revenge for his father? What does the Foot Clan want with an iguana, like Manny? And with Cyberpunk 2077's cybernetics, will Raiko and the other shark girls not be fans of it all? Is Johnny Silverhand gonna be part of this story too? The whole thing with him being in V's head?
ThermalsniperN7: Okay, let's try to address these in order. First, if he can even find out about Raiko. Even then, he'll probably decide he has better things to do.
Dragon Emperor0: Yeah, Kyle's a smart guy, he'll know revenge is what got his dad killed so he won't let himself fall down that rabbit hole. Second, Lesser Antillean Iguanas are considered a delicacy in some countries in Cyberpunk. So Shredder could have wanted it for that purpose, Utroms are fairly gunho when it comes to food.
ThermalsniperN7: Third, Raiko will have enough intelligence to appreciate what technology can do since she'll be using an image inducer to walk freely.
Dragon Emperor0: And a cybernetic eye to replace the blind one from the explosion that killed Kyle. Fourth, Johnny will make an appearance in the story, just not as a voice in V's head taking over his body. Specifics are still in the air, but we'll figure it out.
BeastZ MasterZ: Zamtrios from the Monster Hunter series would be some great inspiration for this story. Zamtrios could be a pet, an enemy, or maybe even an anthro-shark girl for V? Or Zamtrios' powers/abilities could go to one of the shark girls.
Dragon Emperor0: Hmmm. I've seen Chibi versions of that guy before. They're pretty cute...perhaps he could be a pet with a monster form when he battles?
ThermalsniperN7: Probably. We'll need to work out how to integrate him.
MonsterLOVER: So, what happened to Raiko's tail and dorsal fin? Does she still have them? Is she like a mermaid and can restore her tail and dorsal fin when she is in the water?
Also, will there be times where Raiko will go berserk and fall back to her old "Maneater"-self? Like when she smells blood or sees V get hurt?
ThermalsniperN7: The tail and dorsal fin are gone for good. Though she will revert to her Maneater self if V does get hurt.
Dragon Emperor0: For an example from popular media think of her like Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail, or Yuno Gasai from Future Diary… Only Raiko isn't bat shit crazy.
Story Artist: Scaly Pete also set Raiko on fire! Seriously, that guy was messed up.
ThermalsniperN7: That's far from wrong.
Dragon Emperor0: Hence why I prefer Kyle over him.
Story Artist: With Raiko's whole life of being hunted, c-sectioned, burned, shot at, stabbed, and her mother killed, I'm kinda surprised how calm and trusting she is with V. I figured she would hate all humans after everything they put her through. Does it have something to do with her mutation?
ThermalsniperN7: It's more like her acting the way she did as a means of protecting her real self.
Dragon Emperor0: Yeah. As stated before, mentally she's still the pup/preteen who was just trying to survive. Her desire for revenge was more or less a form of a blind rage a teen would go through in a similar situation that was driven to its most logical extreme via her instincts. Her 'Real Self' as ThermalsniperN7 puts it is her when she's not in battle mode: skittish, high strung, hyperactive, cute, naive, sweet and a bit snippy.
-Night City, Port Iris-
It was morning at Casa del V and both V and Jackie were getting dressed in their regular clothes while Raiko was still sleeping like a baby on the couch, hugging her stuffed shark close to her chest like a kid would.
"So, what's on the Agenda today, V?" Jackie asked his roommate as they pulled on their jackets.
"We get Raiko to Vik so she can get her image inducer. Other than that, no clue." The silver eyed man shrugged. It was then that he got a call. "Hello?" He asked as his cyber optics showed a black woman with a hair devoid of hair. "Oh hey T-Bug. What's up?" He asked.
Tiana Bullock, aka T-Bug, was an acquaintance of V and Jackie's from basic training. She worked in the Navy's cyber defense department before transferring to work as a Netrunner hacker in their Cyber Warfare division; she also worked for NCIS on occasion.
"V, is Jackie there with you?" The woman asked.
"Yeah. What's up?" The ex-Nomad replied.
"Gotta job for you guys. A contact of mine from NCIS, Senior Officer Wakako Okada just called me and said that a Corpo whistle blower they had in protective custody just went missing." T-Bug explained. "I know you guys are on leave and like to do the occasional mercenary job, so I suggested you to them." She added.
"Alright, then. What's our whistle blower's last known location?" V questioned as he wrote a note for Raiko telling her that he and Jackie were going out for a bit.
"Wattson District. Anything else you need to know?" She asked.
"How much are they paying?" He asked.
"Up front? Five grand in credits. The remaining five comes after she's been recovered, alive." Bug stated.
"Okay, we'll take it." V nodded as he finished the note.
"Good." The netrunner said before she was quiet for a second. "Hey you're into marine biology right?" She asked as he and Jackie grabbed their gear.
"Of course I am. Why?" The man asked, wondering what brought this up.
"Saw some chatter recently about a TCRI lab that recently had to buy new doors after two somethings busted out of it and into the ocean." T-Bug explained. "And by the looks of the bite marks I saw on the pics? Those things must have had jaws big enough and strong enough to bite a hole through solid steel-titanium alloy doors." She added, causing him to raise an eyebrow.
"I wanna say it sounds like genetically modified extremely rare Mega sharks, but I'm not sure. Send me the info if you can." He told her, though his gaze wandered towards Raiko's sleeping form as he and Jackie left the house.
"Mega Sharks? Like that Maneater that left Port Clovis? You sure?" She asked.
"That's my guess." The Nomad shrugged.
"Well, let's hope these sharks don't go around eating humans. One of them was bad enough." The woman sighed.
"True. Well, call ya when we're ready Bug." The man said as he and Jackie got in the car as T-Bug hung up. "Ready to go, Jack?" He asked as he started the car.
"You know it. Let's go save a whistleblower." The bruiser nodded with a grin.

-New York City-
Meanwhile in the New York City sewers in a lair of sorts, four humanoid Terrapin Turtles in masks—Blue, Red, Purple and Orange—along with a woman with reddish purple hair and a man with black-blue hair who was wearing a hockey getup. Lastly sat an elderly rat in a Japanese robe.
One of these turtles was watching something on a laptop with the Hockey clad man leaning over his shoulder—said man was also eating pizza with pepperoni and mushroom—What were they watching? A season update of the hit television show: Maneater.
"Good evening everyone, I'm Tripp Westy, you're host. And today I bring you some very sad news, it seems that our favorite shark—dubbed Raiko by her fans in the east and west—has disappeared from the waters of Port Clovis." A man said. The turtle in the orange mask immediately did a spit-take of some water he was drinking.
The man behind him meanwhile swallowed his pizza nervously. "*gulp* Uh Oh. That's not good." He said in a notably thick Brooklyn accent.
"No kidding! Where'd it go?!" The orange masked turtle panicked.
"Currently at this time we do not know where she may be, but I think she'd be happy to know that her fans will miss her dearly. Feel free to comment if you feel so inclined. Who knows? If she ever sees them, it may make her happy." Tripp stated before the video ended, and a minute or so later, floods of positive comments started pouring into the comment section. 'We'll miss you, Raiko!' Being some of the most common.
"They are aware that this entire show was real, and that people actually died, right?" The purple masked turtle wondered
"Some are. But most people think it's just actors and CGI." The man stated. "Though they all know the shark is real at least."
"That's probably for the best." Came the blue masked turtle's comment with a sigh.
"I just hope it doesn't come here. Last thing we need is another threat to add to the mix we already have." Noted the woman.
"Yeah. As irritating as it is, I like our current mess." The red masked turtle nodded as he twirled his two sais. "Say Casey, how big is that thing anyway?" He asked the man.
"Uh… 20 or 30 feet I think." The man said.
"Like I said. Best it stay away from us." The blue masked reptile said.
"Well said, Leonardo." The Rat nodded.

Back in Port Iris, Raiko had finally woken up and was taking a shower. Sighing, she stepped out and dried herself off before putting on a robe before deciding to lay on V's bed and use his laptop, which she saw humans use before so she decided to try it.
A few minutes later, she found the video that the turtles were looking at, and was surprised at all the positive comments.
'They...miss me…?' She thought with wide eyes. She then let out a small sigh. 'They probably don't even know the truth.' She continued mentally. Though, this did make her feel happy in a sort of odd way.

Meanwhile with V and Jackie, they arrived at the place where their target was supposedly abducted.
"Elevator, this way." Jackie said as they entered the metal box.
"Target's name is Sandra Dorsett. Her biocom gone offline two days ago. Suspected abduction, though who did it is unclear. Could've been a street gang picking at random, or a bunch of punks Arasaka paid to off her." T-Bug told them. "Target could already be flatlined, you may be too late." She added.
"We're on time, Bug. Sure, you're on 'phones, but that don't make you any less a member of this squad." Jackie told her.
"'Squad', charming." The woman stated, unamused.
"Ya know Bug, you could try to be a little nicer." V stated.
"You want nice and supportive? Call a damn hotline." The netrunner retorted. V gave his best friend a 'is she serious?' look, causing the bruiser to shrug. After a few moments, the elevator stopped at their destination and let them off.
"Door number?" V asked quickly as they walked.
"You're looking for twelve thirty-seven." The woman replied. "Target should be inside, but I've got zero eyes on her biomon. Fingers crossed it's not too late. Ugh, hate this life or death shit. Hurry." She added with a groan. V spotted a woman walking out of her apartment and waved her back inside.
"Okay, We're here. I'll see if I can get it open." V said as he hacked into the door's mechanisms and made it open.
"Good luck." Bug said as they entered, weapons drawn.
"Low profile." Jackie said as they ventured in, they found a woman on a table with her chest cut open and face completely torn off. "Are we fuckin' late?! Is that her, is that our target, V?!" He growled. V did a quick scan of the body and shook his head in negative.
"Sandra Dorsett's protected by echelon II corpo immunity. Our girl's top shelf…" The former Nomad corrected. "This one's packing black market Zetatech repos, typical back alley fix ups. Aka, this ain't our lucky gal." He added.
"Then let's keep lookin'." The man said. As they opened the door, the bruiser stopped his friend. "Hey V, mira, eyes up! Pendejos ahead." He whispered as he pointed at the doorway.
"I'll deal with it." V whispered back as he quietly opened the door. Glancing around, he spotted a lone man and snuck up on him before taking out his knife and slashing the man's throat out and shoving him in a locker.
"Nice! Couldn't have done it better myself." The street kid stated. The two then kept moving and snuck into a corner.
"On your toes, more bodies incoming." The netrunner warned.
"Let's fist fuck these reapers." Jackie whispered as the two continued to hide. The men in the room across from them kept talking. They all had Russian accents. "Cabrones thick as locusts. Let's wait and plan a spree." He added as two guys walked over to a urinal in front of them.
Sneaking up behind the closest one, V grabbed him and slit his throat while Jackie snapped his guy's neck.
"All down, limp meat. Probably ain't the last of them." Jackie said.
"When is it the last of them?" V mused.
"Touché." The bruiser shrugged as they moved on to the next room. There were four guys in there, and just like last time, they were made into corpses quickly and silently. Then finally there was a big fat ass lugging around a heavy machine gun.
"I got this one." The Nomad said as he drew out his knife, and then hurled it at the man—nailing him in the side of the head, killing him instantly.
"Nice throw." Jackie whistled with a grin.
"Thanks." V said as he walked up to the dead man and cleaned his blade. "Hey bug, you got eyes on this shit hole?" He asked.
"Room she's in looks out on the balcony." The woman replied. "Got a window on the left. Gimme two seconds to grease the lock." She added.
"Jackie, mind distracting the last few guys?" He asked.
"You got it." The man nodded as he pulled out his pistols. "Come and get it carones!" He yelled as he barged into the room.
"Windows open, better go now. Don't want you or the target to go into fire or get a slug in your back." The Netrunner told V.
"I hear ya." Was the soldier's reply. He then started looking around while Jackie was on distraction duty. "Shit, where the fuck's our target?!" He said frantically as he leapt through the window and started looking.
"Look around. She's gotta be there somewhere." T-Bug told them. V did so as Jackie came in, and his scanner picked up something in a bathroom. And when he entered, what he saw made his breakfast want to make a second appearance.
"Jesus Fucking Christ…" He gasped in horror. In the tub of ice were two bodies, one being a man, and the other being a woman, who was naked. Both were naked and in a tub of ice, having signs of being beaten. Jackie looked inside and had to dice his last meal back down.
"Shit V, I got a stomach of steel but…" The man said as he looked at the scene before him. Pushing his disgust to the side (with a lot of effort), V chose to examine the woman's body.
"I think I got her. I got our target." He said.
"She alive?" T-Bug asked.
"We're about to find out." He replied.
"Quick jack into her neuro port, need to see what we're dealing with here." The woman said.
"She's crammed in a tub of ice with someone else. Like slabs of meat." V told her.
"Keep it together V. After she's recovered she won't remember a thing. Just a scar on the subconscious." T said.
"I've heard about people who survive this kind of this stuff have panic attacks, without even knowing why. Could be sipping a glass of ice tea and then their hands shake." The man said in exasperation. Shaking his head, he pulled a jack from his left wrist and connected it to a USB port in the woman's head.
"Oh, this doesn't look good…" Jackie groaned in dismay.
"Sandra Dorsett, NC570442, Trauma Team Platinum." V said. Trauma was a form of super EMTs that were usually used by as many Corpos as normal folks.
"Platinum? Shiiit, Trauma should've swooped in if she sneezed!" Jackie exclaimed.
"They probably jammed her transmitter sig." T-Bug guessed. "Lookin' at a hacked biomon, firmware reconfig or a neurovirus…" She listed off.
"Carajo T-Bug, you ain't seeing this place! This is tubs, ice, chains and cleavers!" The bruiser said.
"Scopmuncher's hack… Huh." The woman mused. "Got an idea. Check her neuroport. Find a shard? Pull it- that'll be what's muting the biomon." She instructed.
"Got it." V nodded as he removed the chip, then the biomon started working. "Trauma says they'll be here in three minutes." He added.
"Ay, pabrecita, let's get her off that ice." Jackie said as V picked her up. As he did, though, Sandra's vitals started declining.
"Aw fuck!" V exclaimed in alarm.
"She's flatlining!" The bruiser exclaimed in equal alarm.
"V, what's going on?" T-Bug questioned.
"Jackie, airhypo! Now!" The ex-Nomad ordered, ignoring T-Bug for the moment.
"Ey, catch, vato!" The petty officer exclaimed as he tossed the requested item V's way. Acting quick, he stabbed the needle into the woman's chest.
"I think it… holy shit it worked!" He exclaimed as both men let out a sigh of relief.
"Fuera, cabrón. Get her outside!" Jackie exclaimed. V picked the woman up and started making his way to the balcony. "Fuera, get 'er out. Terrace!" The large man beckoned.
As V did so, a hover vehicle came their way and lit up a place to set Sandra on. The man quickly flashed his ID to the armed Trauma personnel that approached with a gurney.
"Place the patient on the gurney. And thanks for your work, soldier." One of the soldiers said.
"Anytime, anything to put it to those Arasaka assholes." The Nomad said as he set the woman down gently. "All yours guys." He said as he backed away to give them necessary breathing room.
One soldier with defibrillator equipment gave Sandra a quick jolt before she was carted onto the transport. The rest of the team quickly boarded before flying off.
"Let's get outta here. Elevator gets us directly back to the garage." Jackie sighed, wanting to just get out of the place.
"Let's go." V said as the two walked back to the elevator. As they got in the car, T-Bug started calling her boss.
"Good Job. Shit show's over… Heads up guys. NCPD is locking down Watson. Better go the long way around." The woman told them.
"Thanks for the heads up." The silver eyed soldier replied. "Just make sure our cash comes in." He added.
"Will do." She nodded, signing off. As they approached his car, Jackie climbed into the driver's seat.
"Listen, mano, I got this thing tomorrow with Misty. Mind if I borrow your wheels?" The street kid said.
"I won't leave you hangin'. But don't get used to it." The ex-Nomad told him. "And remember, we still gotta get Raiko to Vik so she can get her inducer today." He added.
"After a break. We certainly need one, no?" Jackie said.
"Yeah, after that, why don't the three of us go to the Afterlife to celebrate?" V suggested.
"Now ya speakin' my language!" His roommate grinned as they started driving. "Ah, can't stop digging Night City." He sighed with a smile.
"It's just like any other city, Jack. Being slightly bigger doesn't make it different." The other soldier shrugged. As a Nomad he knew cities of all kinds, and Night City was no different.
"Nah, mano, not just any other city." The bruiser said. "Morgan Blackhand, Andrew Weyland, Adam Smasher. Legends are born here, V." He added.
"Not all of 'em." The soldier said, getting his friend's attention.
"Whatcha mean?" Jackie asked.
"There are legends born in other parts of the country. People like my grandfather, Jules Vern II, aka "Captain Nemo." He was an unmatched submarine pilot back in his day." V explained.
"Seriously? Heh, modern day sub pilots could learn a thing or two from him." Jackie remarked with a chuckle.
"No kidding. Then there's my great grandfather, Earnest Vern. He was a WW2 amphibious warfare fighter. He was so notorious that Japan placed a 'flee on sight' order on him, and those aren't issued lightly." The ex-nomad continued, causing Jackie to halt at a stop light just so he could look at him in shock.
"Ay caramba, are you serious?!" He exclaimed in disbelief. "You've got him in your family tree?!" He questioned.
"Yep. My great grandfather is the ever infamous King Shark. This knife I'm carrying? This was his." V said as he held up said knife. The Shark dorsal fin carved on the flat of the blade flickered in the neon.
"Chingada." Jackie gasped before he suddenly saw something in the mirrors. "Oh no, someone's tailin' us." He said.
"On the long way home? Why?" The man questioned.
"Not sure. I don't like this V. Not one tiny bit." Jackie said warily as a van pulled up in front of them. Then the back of the van opened up and guys with automatic weapons started firing at them.
"Scavs?! Oh, piss off!" V barked in irritation as he pulled out his pistol and leaned out of his window so he could shoot them. "Jackie, keep driving!" He exclaimed.
"Chingada Madre!" The bruiser yelled as he drove the car the best he could. V meanwhile aimed his hand cannon at the guy shooting at them and managed to nail him in the head, but another guy took his place. "Hijos de Puta! V! Aim for the driver!" Jackie shouted.
"Got it!" The man shouted back as he fired two shots at the driver, causing the van to crash and kill the occupants.
"Mirda Perdon!" The man snapped as the Nomad got back in. "That was close. Too close." He sighed.
"No kidding. I wasn't expecting that to happen." The ex-Nomad sighed.
"Yeah. I scratched up your baby real badly. Sorry, V." Jackie said apologetically.
"Don't worry- It'll wait. Let's just get home so we can relax." The silver eyed man told him. "And so I can take Raiko to Vik's, after a nap." He yawned.
"Alright, then we'll go to the Afterlife for a drink. I'd say we earned it." Jackie nodded.
"Damn right we have." V nodded. "Turn here, there's a shortcut we can take that should be clear of any feds." He added.
"You got it." The man nodded as he turned down the path… Right into a block of feds. "Chingada Madre…" He groaned.
"I stand corrected." V groaned in exasperation. "Pull out your ID. Hopefully it'll help us make sure they won't mistake us for drug runners." He added.
"Here's hopin'." Jackie sighed as he took his ID out while V did the same right as they stopped at the blockade.
"This area's on lockdown. Necessary security measure." A female officer said as she approached them. The two men were quick to show their ID's to her. "Hmm. Now what would a pair of self respecting naval soldiers be doing out here during a lockdown?" She asked.
"Mercenary work. Helps keep us from getting rusty. We just finished a job for NCIS, confidential type stuff." V explained.
"Fair enough." The woman shrugged. "Let them through. But they're the last." She ordered, prompting two cars to open the path to them.
As the two drove off, they let out a collective sigh of relief. "V, never let it be said that you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer." Jackie said.
"Noted." The man in question chuckled as they continued on their way. As they drove, they came across some no-name gang members. Not even a few seconds later, a police transport flew in and two officers decked in serious gear jumped out. "Doesn't seem like your average bust." He noted.
"Those aren't your average badges. That's MaxTac. Port Iris's top guys. Sharks, all of em." Jackie told him. "This is just an afternoon snack for 'em."
"Sucks to be them, but hey, they had it coming." V shrugged as they resumed driving. A little while later, they finally got home and as they got out of the car and entered the house, V was suddenly glomped into the cleavage of a very happy—and relieved Raiko. "Oof! Hey Raiko." He said, his voice slightly muffled.
"I saw something on TV about where you guys were, are you okay?" She asked, hugging him tightly.
"We're fine. Don't worry your goofy little head." Jackie said, chuckling at V's current position as he closed the door behind them.
"Goofy?!" The Shark woman snapped as she started crackling with lightning in indignation. "I am not goofy!" She huffed.
"Jackie, maybe not try and make the electro shark woman angry, huh?" V said in a muffled voice as he was squeezed tighter to the woman's chest.
"Right, sorry." The man said before walking off. "I'm gonna go chill with Manny. Later." He told them as he left to go and relax with their pet lizard.
Raiko stuck her tongue out at the man as he left and looked down at V. "So what now?" She asked as she let go of him.
The Nomad yawned as he stretched. "I'm gonna get some sleep. We'll go see Vik after I get some rest." V told her.
"Can I cuddle with you, then?" She asked. V was about to say no, but that idea died when Raiko gave him the most adorable face he'd ever seen that rivaled a puppy's pleading look.
'I can't say no to that…!' The man thought as his heart clenched from the shark woman's cuteness. "... You can." He replied in defeat.
"Yes!" She smiled. Going to the man's room, the two laid on the bed together and Raiko laid her head on V's chest. She purred as she slowly fell asleep along with him.
'This woman is too adorable for her own good.' V thought as Raiko's purrs lulled him to sleep.
(The next day)
Later on, the two woke up to find that it was morning. "Guess we slept longer than we planned…" V said as they sat up. "Come on, let's try and get to Vik's." He said before he felt his head throb and his stomach churned, an image of a virus warning popping up on his optics.
"What's wrong?" Raiko asked in concern.
"I dunno, a neurovirus maybe? Coulda picked it up on that job yesterday." He said, shaking his head. "Eh, I'll get Vik to take a look at it." He added.
"I just hope we can do this without me getting spotted." The shark woman gulped nervously.
"I think I got something for that." Jackie said as he walked into the room carrying a box of clothes. "Misty made these for you, hope you like them." He said.
Raiko took the box from his hand and placed it on the bed before she opened it and looked through it. Needles to say, she found herself appreciating the clothes.
Deciding to get dressed, she put the outfit on and looked at herself, it was a knee-high dark dress coat which is adorned with four, symmetrically placed, light-coloured buttons on the chest. The coat is garnished with fur trimmings around her sleeve cuffs and neck.
She was also wearing a matching, dark, Russian-style hat, stylized with a light-coloured butterfly clip, which, in itself, is attached to the fur trimming garnishing her hat. And she completed her outfit by fastening a light brown belt around her waist and wearing complimenting, dark brown, thigh-high boots.
V himself couldn't stop staring at how gorgeous Raiko looked. She really made it work.
"Thanks Jackie." Raiko said as she hugged the man.
"Di nada chica." He replied.
"Come on, let's go see Vik." V said as they started heading to the garage.
"I got your car fixed, here's the key." Jackie said, tossing him the keycard.
"Thanks. We'll be back when we get back." V said as they got in the car. "Ready to take a look around Port Iris' Night City?" He asked his passenger.
"Mmm hmm." She smiled.
"Alright, let's go." The man smiled as he started up the car and put his foot on the gas. As they traveled to Vik's clinic, Raiko looked around with childlike interest at the sights around her. V chuckled quietly at her behavior, finding it strangely endearing.
As they pulled up to the building where Vik's clinic was near. The two then got out and Raiko kept her head down as they entered the building where a woman with short blonde hair was at a desk. The shop looked to be a cross between a hippie crystal shop and a weed store.
"Hey Misty." V said to the woman.
"Hey, V. Here to get your friend kitted out?" Misty asked, Vik having told her about Raiko's situation.
"That, and I may have picked up a neurovirus from a job I did yesterday." The man replied.
"Alright. He should be in there now." She told him. Raiko meanwhile bowed respectively.
"Thanks for the clothes." She smiled.
"You're welcome, Raiko right?" The woman said as she shook the shark woman's webbed hand.
"Yes. That's right." The hidden shark woman nodded.
"Misty." The blonde replied as they went downstairs to see Vik.
"Vik! Spry as ever ya old ripper!" V called as they entered the room where a middle aged man sat at a small desk with an old box TV set.
"V! Good to see you. Is this your friend?" He asked as he looked at Raiko.
"Yep. Vik, meet Raiko Mizukage, aka…" V said as the woman took off her hat and her Bioelectric domino mask finally became visible. "The—Former—Maneater of Port Clovis."
Vik gaped at the bio electric shark woman in front of him. Sure, he was told that his newest client had unnaturally high bioelectricity, but he didn't expect this! The request he got made much more sense now.
"Okay, that explains the type of image inducer you wanted for her… Fuck, I was not expecting this." He sighed as he looked at his best customer. "Anything else I need to be made aware of?" He asked.
"I had to jack into a client's neuroport yesterday. Mighta gotten spiked. Plus I could use a few upgrades." The Nomad replied.
"You experiencing headaches, slight nausea, glitches?" The ripperdoc asked.
"Whole kit and kaboodle." V replied.
"Alright, you two will be sorted in a flash. Who's first?" Vik asked.
"Raiko? You wanna go first or should I?" The man asked.
"You go first. I can wait a bit longer." The ex-Maneater replied, getting a nod in return.
"Alright, get on the chair, V. You know the routine." The ripperdoc instructed. The man did so and the man got out some things. "Kiroshi Optics. Best I got, and should work under the circumstances." He added. "Go ahead and jack in."
"You really got a lot on top of that Kiroshi image inducer, huh?" V mused.
"If I'm gonna help an ex-Maneater, I'm gonna make sure my impression is a good one." The man nodded as he glanced at Raiko before noticing something. "Hm? Raiko, come here for a sec." He requested. The shark woman was confused, but did so anyway. When she was close enough, Vik inspected her left eye. "Hm… Yep, I knew it. She's blind in her left eye." He noted.
"Wait, what? Really?" V asked, surprised by the revelation.
"Yep. Guess I'll be fixing that, too." The man mused before waving his new client away. "Now, just sit back and relax. This'll only take a second, just need to administer some anesthetic." He continued as V laid his arm down on the workbench arm. Injecting the medicine into the Nomad's arm. "Feel anything?" He asked.
"Nope. Go ahead and start." He said as Vik began to get to work. Raiko watched in concern for V's safety and slight interest as she wondered how Vik would go about her implants.
A machine worked on the man's arm while Vik used his cutter hand to remove the cybernetic eyes from their sockets to place the new ones in. And V seemed to not feel a thing while the procedure was done. A few minutes later, he woke up.
"Well, that feels much better." He noted, no longer feeling the norovirus in his body.
"Good. Now, get up so I can get to work on Raiko." Vik told him.
"Right, and thanks for the upgrades, Vik." V told him.
"No problem V." The man said as he got up. "Alright Raiko, you're up next. Just take a seat here and do me a favor and take that shirt off." He told the woman.
"U-um… O-okay." The shark woman gulped nervously as she took her shirt off, leaving her blue bra-clad breasts visible. She then sat in the chair so Vik could do his work. The man then gave her some anaesthetic and then started cutting as the woman fell asleep.
(Later)
Raiko woke up with a groan as her eyes fluttered open, wincing as she felt her left eye socket, center of her chest and right hand throb. She looked up and saw V smiling at her, looking pleased with what had happened.
"You should be getting 20/20 vision from your left eye now." Vik told her. "And as for your image inducer, it's activated mentally. The option should be shown on your optics." He added as Raiko got up.
"Okay, let's give it a test." She said as she thought about the option, causing it to appear on her optics. Thinking of the image a hologram formed around her and made her look like a dark skinned woman with her green hair and electric blue eyes.
"... It works." V told her with a small blush. He did like dark skinned women.
"Not bad kiddo. Now, just take these for me." The ripperdoc said as he handed the two a pair of inhalers.
"What are these?" Raiko asked.
"It's medicine. It'll help you two get used to your new implants. Two puffs now, another two in an hour." He told them. The two clients looked at their inhalers before they each took two puffs from them and felt a little better afterwards.
"Wow, that stuff works." Raiko sighed. She then looked at Bio. "Any other implants I need to be aware of?" She asked.
"Yeah, actually. I gave you a neuroport behind your right ear. And I installed a jack in your right hand." The old ripperdoc replied, causing the shark woman to look at her right hand and see a hole that held her new jack located in her wrist. "Those should make it easier to get around here." He added.
"Thank Vik." V smiled. "So, how much do I owe you?" He asked, looking through his waist bag for his credits.
"2,500 eddies. Raiko's are 200 with the others being free since this is her first visit." Vik replied, prompting his best customer to fish out the appropriate amount.
"Here ya go. And thanks again Vik." The Nomad
"No problem V, stay safe." The man smiled.

In a district of Port Iris called Saltlick City, a place with many salt mines and a salt water river running through it, a very familiar looking Red haired young man walking to an apartment complex called the Gilman Building. Who was it?
Kyle LeBlanc, who wasn't dead after his encounter with Raiko in Port Clovis. He had been unable to tell his father about him being alive, because he was in a coma for two months. And now he learned on the radio that he was dead.
'I guess the grief kept him from trying to even find me…' He thought to himself. After an incident like that, he shouldn't be surprised that his old man was driven nuts. At the thought of the incident, he felt the scar he got from it throb, said scar being a burn that covered his right arm and a small portion of his torso. He got it from the flames of the explosion that left him comatose.
Entering his apartment he immediately fell on his floor and fell asleep. It had been a long day.
Meanwhile at the bank of the salt water lake, Poseidon Lake, two figures started walking out of the water, covered by the night. The figures were clearly female in shape and had the same white and red eyes from the TCRI building.
"... Should we try to find some clothes?" The white eyed figure asked the red eyed one, drawing attention to the fact that she was taller than her companion.
"Yes we should. Can't go around giving everybody a free show, can we?" The red eyed figure nodded in agreement.
"Let's see if we can find a store or something, then. Maybe find a place to hide out for a while." The taller female said.
"Now there's an idea." The shorter of the two nodded as they started walking through the darkness shrouded streets.
(Elsewhere)
V and Raiko arrived at the Afterlife bar after picking up Jackie. The trio had opted to go with their original plan of going there to celebrate Raiko's newfound ability to walk freely.
"So, you ready to get your cherry popped? Ha ha!" Jackie chuckled as they went downstairs to the Bar's entrance where a bouncer stood.
"And who might you three be?" The bouncer questioned. Raiko gave the man a nervous look as she hugged V's arm into her chest.
"V, IDs." Jackie said as they showed their cards, showing that they were soldiers. The bouncer looked at them and nodded.
"Sorry about that, boys. Head on in." He said as he stepped to the side. "Nice girl ya got there." He added.
"Yep, prettiest gal this side of the Port." V nodded.
"Thanks." Raiko said with a blush. As the three walked in, Raiko couldn't help but feel odd and out of place in the bar. Especially with how it looked.
It looked like it had been in business for a long time. The bar had a dozen stools surrounding it, and a neon Afterlife sign above it. Additionally there were tanks where naked women swam around in a seductive underwater dance.
"Place used to be a morgue, you know that?" Jackie said as they headed towards the bar, making the shark woman feel uneasy.
"Jackie, please don't bring that up. You're making Raiko uneasy." V told him, noticing the hidden anthro's discomfort almost instantly. "Plus I told you that already." He added.
"Whoops. My bad." The bruiser said apologetically as they sat down. "This place is the heart of Night City, listen and you just might hear it." He added.
"That's true. Susan Forrest, Boa Boa, and even Morgan Blackhand. So many legends sat on these stools, and slept on this bar… Allegedly." V nodded as Raiko sat between them.
"I guess we're up." Raiko said. Jackie then tapped her shoulder.
"See that old lady there?" He said, pointing at a woman across the way. "That's Rogue. Best Fixer in Night City." He told her. A fixer usually gave Mercs jobs.
"Hang on, I thought Dexter Disaun was the best?" V questioned.
"Pff… Rogue was linin' up jobs while Dex was still shittin' his diapers. Heh, place belongs to her." Jackie scoffed before chuckling.
It was at this point that a woman walked up to them, a bartender that they were familiar with, her name was Jinx. She was a woman with black hair and magenta highlights.
"Hello boys, take it a job went well?" She asked, knowing that the two usually came around when they succeeded on a job.
"More or less, yeah. Main reason we're here, though, is to celebrate our friend here being able to finally walk around freely." V replied as he gestured to a meek looking Raiko. Jinx looked at her and nodded.
"Finally being able to walk freely after being in hiding for a long time? You three came to the right place. What'll it be?" She asked.
Jackie and Raiko looked at V. "You order." The Nomad said to Jackie.
"Three Taqilla old fashioneds with a splash of cerveza and a chilli garnish." The bruiser said.
"Trio of Johnny Silverhands comin' up." Jinx said as she got to work on the drinks.
"Right on Chica." Jackie nodded.
"Someone's done their homework." V noted.
"And it looks like the dog ate mine." Raiko said.
"Age old tradition here. Drinks're named after our regulars." Jinx explained.
"How long has the place been around?" The shark woman asked.
"No idea. Half a century? Longer? Could very well be the oldest club in the city." V replied.
"And the most respected. Don't forget it." Jinx told both him and Raiko.
"Say I'd want a drink named after me, how do I do it?" She questioned.
"Snuff it. In mind-knowingly spectacular fashion. Mid-op'd be best." Jinx replied.
"In that case, think I got a couple." The woman said as Jinx gave them their drinks.
"Oh?" The bartender asked.
"One named after my mother, she died trying to keep me safe when I was still in her womb… before some Psycho cut me from it." Raiko told her. "And one after that shark hunter Pete. To flip him off every time I drink it." She added.
"Ha! Mockin' someone by drinking to 'em! I like you." Jinx laughed before pulling out her notepad. "Gimme the recipes." She requested with a grin.
"The first drink, the Scaly Pete is a: ounce New Orleans Cajun Spiced Rum, 1/2 ounce grenadine, 2 ounces passion fruit juice, 1 ounce lemon juice, 1/2 ounce New, Orleans white rum, Orange wedge and maraschino cherry, for garnish. And lastly, a bit of seltzer and a sprinkle of cinnamon and Cayenne." The woman said. She had swallowed a drink similar to this one time when she was a teen off a yacht.
"And the second one?" Jinx asked.
"I call it the Mama Shark. It's 3/4 ounce Captain Morgan spiced rum (Though personally I prefer Kraken), 3/4 ounce light rum, 1/2 ounce blue curacao, 1 1/2 ounce sour mix, 3 drops grenadine." The woman explained. "Then garnish it with gummy shark and a bit of cane sugar lining the rim." She added.
"Okay! Got 'em written. Wanna try one of these before taking your leave?" The waitress asked.
"After this drink." Raiko nodded as the three took their Johnny Silverhands.
"First, to a job well done." Jackie said, raising his glass.
"And new friends." V added.
"Cheers." Raiko nodded as they swallowed their drinks. Next V ordered a Scaly Pete and both Jackie and Raiko ordered a Mama Shark.
"Second, to big Mama Mizukage. May she Rest In Peace." Jackie continued.
"And to Scaly Pete, may he burn in eternal damnation." V added.
"Damn right." Raiko finished as they clinked their glasses and downed their drinks once more. "Ah. Best thing I've had so far." She smiled as she swapped drinks with V and drank some of his. "Mmm." She smiled again… right as the alcohol started to make her blush heavily.
"Oh boy, she just got herself wasted." V noted, spotting the shark woman's blush and praying internally that she didn't accidentally turn off her image inducer in her current state.
"Lightweight huh? Figured as much." A voice said as they were approached by Rogue.
"Rogue. Didn't know you were here tonight." Jinx said.
"'Course I am. Thanks for coming in while Claire's oughta town, Jinx." She told the woman. Rouge was a woman around Vik's age with silver hair swept to the left, brown eyes, black metal going from her navel presumably all the way to the underside of her breasts. She was wearing a yellow crop top with SURVIVE on it and a pair of black Lycra pants.
"No problem, ma'am." Jinx replied with a nod.
"So, heard you guys talking about Pierre LaBlanc, I assume one of you is from Port Clovis?" Rogue asked.
"That'd be this woman here." V replied, gesturing to the intoxicated bull shark woman between him and Jackie.
Rogue looked at Raiko and noticed that her breasts jiggled every time she breathed. 'How does she even walk around with those airbags?' The woman thought as she rocked back and forth. "My condolences. I've seen that shithole up close, it's not exactly a nice looking venue." She said.
"We've noticed. How that piss hole still gets business is a mystery." Jackie commented, getting a nod from V.
"And as for Pete, our drunken friend here named a drink after him so she can flip the guy off every time she drinks it." The silver eyed man explained, getting a laugh out of Rogue.
"Ha! Anyone who does that has some serious brass!" She said before letting out another laugh.
"That's our Raiko. She may look sweet and timid on the outside…" Jackie said before he started circling his finger around his head. "But when she gets angry? Es que loco!" He laughed.
"Hey!" Raiko snapped as she zapped the man with a finger, causing him to yelp.
"I'll believe that when I see her in action, if she wants any action, that is." The other woman said, figuring the zapping was probably a taser implant.
"Yeah, not likely." V said as the girl nuzzled his neck… and then kissed him. "MPH?!" Came the man's startled and muffled yelp.
"Yeah, I'd get her home before she starts trying to screw your brains out in the middle of the bar." Rogue commented.
"No argument here, chica. Let's go, V." Jackie nodded before gesturing to his Navy buddy to pick up their drunken friend so they could leave. The ex-Nomad was going to pay for their drinks, but Jinx waved it off.
"Your friend gave us two new drinks. This one's on the house." She told him.
"Alright, see ya next time." He waved.
(Later)
As V continued to carry Raiko, she hugged him tightly. "Let me guess, you wanna sleep with me don't you?" He asked. The shark woman smiled as she kissed his cheek.
"I want *hic* more than that~." She slurred in reply.
"You're drunk, Raiko. I don't want to take advantage of you like that." He told her as he set her on his bed.
"Come on, now. Don't *hic* you wanna have *hic* one hell of a mate *hic* by your side?" The former Maneater purred drunkenly as she took her shirt and bra off.
"Any man would want a gorgeous woman like you. But getting laid while inebriated is a bad idea, you may regret it." He stated.
"What if I *hic* don't regret it?" Raiko questioned before she pinned him to the bed and started making out with him heavily. V instinctively held her close, and felt her generating small amounts of lightning as her inducer turned off.
As they separated, Raiko leaned up and let V stare at her breasts as they dangled above him. "Here I come, Darling~!" She purred as she moved in to ravage him… but suddenly just fell on top of him, out like a light.
"Okay, that was close." V sighed in relief before feeling Raiko cling to him in her sleep. 'Was not expecting her to go that far…' He thought before he frowned slightly. Why did he… want more of what almost happened?
It was almost like he was starting to like her.
Dragon Emperor0: Sorry if you guys were expecting a lemon. But that'll happen later, we'll also be having the Arasakas and the Shredder appear soon as well. Just not now.
ThermalsniperN7: Right. We wanna have a bit of time before they enter the picture. Speaking of, looks like those two sets of glowing eyes have changed.
Dragon Emperor0: Now what are they going to look like I wonder? And as you can see guys, Raiko got some very necessary upgrades. Like a new eye.
ThermalsniperN7: That's another thing. Vik is a motherfucking boss if he's able to identify a blind eye just by looking at someone!
Dragon Emperor0: Yeah, and Kyle looks to be doing just fine, thank The Traveler. Let's hope he stays that way.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah. Dude's been through enough shit, due partially to his old man's actions.
Dragon Emperor0: No kidding… Hmm, been thinking of adding more animal girls in the story to play as rivals for Raiko and the two other girls. Maybe one of them could be his girlfriend?
ThermalsniperN7: That should add a dash of drama to this whole thing. Anyway, see you guys next time!
