Chapter 11: She fucking took it!
Roy continued to stare at the demon who approach him at a steady pace. Some demons acknowledged what had happened while the rest continued on with their business. Of course, there was also the driver who was coming to and trying to understand what had happened. Regardless the distance between Roy and the demon who was responsible, was closing.
The demon was wearing mostly white, possibly leather but far from shaping his body completely. Red was seen on his shoes and fingerless gloves. His face was pale as bone since it was literally a skull and somewhat large curved horns. Holding a long-ranged weapon, he screamed professional bounty hunter. Great, he even had a handkerchief around his neck and a hat to match the look…even his shoes were actually boots.
"You're quite calm…"
"…" Roy continued to look at the demon who started to reload his weapon. "…Who are you?"
"Name's Jack. Jack Blaze."
Roy now noticed that the empty eye sockets actually contained green flames. (Damn that's a cool name.) "Any reason you're trying to give me trouble Mr. Blaze? I don't recall pissing off a talking skull head…"
"It's never personal friend; it's purely business…" Saying that, a quick cocking of his weapon followed and slowly was it aimmed towards the cautious Roy.
"What, did Vox send you?" His first natural thought as he shifted a bit. Before a response was given however, a loud groan was heard to his right where the driver finally freed himself from the car.
"Who the fuck-"
"…"
The driver looked to Roy who said nothing and was keeping his eye on Jack Blaze. "W-Why is he aiming at us-"
"I would leave if I were you…" Roy at least gave that friendly piece of advice as Blaze had yet to answer his question. Conveniently, the driver seemed to get the message and began to scramble his way out of the scene that was going on.
"Overlord Velvet hired us to deal with you…something about you taking something of importance from her?"
('We'?) wondered Roy. His question was soon answered as he heard another demon from across the street and on the other side of the flipped car.
"Whatever it was, she promised double pay…" This demon was undoubtedly the one in the hoodie that Roy made eye contact with not two minutes ago. It was hard to tell but he didn't seem to be holding anything threatening.
Roy's eyes peered to his right at the demon who spoke. Yet he immediately thought about why he was targeted. "Wait, Wendy hired you guys to get her phone back?"
"A phone?"
Roy glanced behind him to see a Hell Hound making her way towards him. Completely black in fur, she had white spots and was holding a shotgun with attire that also screamed bounty hunter. "We're fucking this guy over a phone?"
"Ha, 'Wendy'…that's a good one…" Jack said as he was seemingly enjoying Roy's earlier description of Velvet. Eventually however, "Yeah whatever it is, phone or not, money is money."
Before Roy could point out how out of control this was becoming, another demon had appeared. This time, he joined Blaze and was seemingly really happy to be there. So happy that he was dancing around in place repeating the same words over and over.
"Hunt me! Hunt me! SOMEBODY hunt me!"
"What the fuck-"
"This is Terry; he likes to be hunted."
"Hunt me!"
"Nice to meet you Terry…" By this point Roy held his hands up as he was soon surrounded by the bounty hunters. Naturally Blaze was the most concerning on his mind, especially when his weapon looked to be the kind that shot highly explosive ammunition; that barrel was quite large at its end. Oh and of course because he was directly in front of Roy. Waiting patiently, he carefully focused on where everyone was…seeing the short demon via peripheral vision on his right, while hearing the Hell Hound behind him.
"…NM!"
Quickly, Roy called on three chains to strike directly at the bounty hunters. Two distinct sounds was heard around him, indicating that the other two were indeed affected by his chains. However, his main target had immediately jumped to the side much to Roy's surprise as things escalated.
(Huh, normally they don't try to dodge…this guy may actually have common-)
Roy was interrupted by an incoming projectile, forcing him to drop down entirely to the ground in over to avoid contact. A loud explosion was then heard behind him across the street as he cursed and got up quickly.
"-Sense," finished Roy as he rushed a good number of chains towards Blaze. Thankfully being a demon really affected his senses and reactions to a great extent. However, he then heard a heavy drop upon the totaled car. There, the hoodie demon angrily held a pair of daggers and once eye contact was made, jumped on Roy.
"UGH!" Roy responded accordingly as he found himself on the ground with this troublesome demon. From the corner of his eye, he could see Jack Blaze reloading his less than kind weapon. He had to deal with this demon that forced him to the ground before he could focus on him. Luckily for Roy, this demon was small and was not as strong as he first expected. Thus, he gave his wrists a harder squeeze before turning him over, standing up, and tossing the little bastard at Blaze who was forced to roll out of the way.
Yet Roy knew better than to stay in the same spot; remembering almost immediately that he would also have that shotgun-wielding Hell Hound who had finally picked up her weapon. Thankfully Roy had successfully made it around the vehicle just as she fired at him. The loud sound did stunt him but only for a brief moment as he then dropped entirely to the ground to spot her legs through the totaled car.
(I've heard louder…) he thought as he called on more chains to attack her. This time, he focused properly in order to wrap around her legs and yank her. The ending result was a satisfying front view of her falling to the ground hard. He followed up with another wave of chains that restrained her entirely to the ground.
This victory was short-lived however as he heard another distinctive sound. Cursing, he rolled away like hell from the car moments before Blaze's third shot impacted the already totaled vehicle. Thankfully, the impact only caused it to move a few feet towards Roy who was still trying to get some distance.
(I guess it's not that cheap-) thought Roy as he finally stood up. At least now from where he was, he could see things coming with a more breathable distance given to him. And unsurprisingly the smaller demon was rushing towards him with Blaze following him closely from behind.
Immediately, Roy began to run through the sidewalk shoving any demon that was in his way as a loud explosion was heard pretty damn close behind him. Thank god he needed to reload after every single shot as the demons around him finally scattered in response to the explosion that was going on. Turning at a corner, he knew that losing them would give him a proper breather and give him a proper chance to counter-attack. Thus, he spotted an alley way that looked promising and forced himself to turn the corner yet again. When he did that, he immediately crossed the street diagonally while making sure to avoid any incoming vehicles. As luck would have it, there weren't any close enough to give him a proper threat.
Roy faced the direction he came from before he began to walk backwards in the alley, keeping his eye out for any signs of his attackers. Eventually, he faced away once again and continued to run through the alley until he found himself on another sidewalk. Moving quickly, he continued down the block in one direction to generate more and more distance before he spotted another alley way. This time, he waited for a few seconds until he was able to cross the street normally and found himself on the other side where he was able to reach this alley.
(I think I am good for now…) Carefully hugging the wall, Roy peeked at the direction from where he came from for a few moments before glancing on the opposite end of the building across the street. No sign of them for now…but if they were able to find him randomly while he was out this late, he wouldn't put it past them to find him again very soon. (Maybe I should call Niffty…) Pulling out the phone that started all of this, he began to search for Niffty's number before making his way deeper into the Alley. When he found her number, he began to text her of his current situation.
"…!"
Roy barely had enough time to jump backwards as that Hell Hound had taken a shot the moment he turned at the corner. Cursing, he scrambled to stand back up as the Hell Hound made an appearance yet again with her shotgun. Despite this, Roy managed to focus well enough to shoot a chain directly at her wrist, thus tightly pressing her right-side against the wall.
"Fuck-" she cursed as she couldn't get free.
Taking this chance, Roy immediately made his way towards her as he lifted a fist and cracked it before pulling it back to give her a good punch directly on her cheek.
Making a solid impact to her face, she hit the wall with a cry of pain as his fist left a good mark. She immediately responded accordingly with a growl before using that long leg of hers to kick him directly at his front side. Roy, unable to move out of the way, was launched some yards away from her.
"EM!"
While the kick didn't hurt much, the impact to the ground would have. Of course, had Roy not reacted using his chains, it would have. (Good thing I listened to Alastor…) Being caught by his chains that launched from one side of the alley to the other, this resulted in a flat spring-like surface. Reacting accordingly, he was soon on his feet almost effortlessly as he tried another trick that he had been practicing.
"Ugh!"
The Hell Hound had her still extended leg caught by another collection of chains. Naturally grown tired of these things, she cursed at him as she was suddenly yanked and pulled to the ground yet again. Only her shotgun was held against the wall thanks to the chain that once held her wrist not moments ago. Once she was within range, she barely avoided a stomp by Roy's foot as his chain continued to pull her some distance away from him.
Eventually, Roy made those chains vanished as he realized how much practice he still needed with them. And as she stood up with hostility, Roy began to remove his hat and jacket, deciding that he needed some more freedom in order to deal with this one. Tilting his head slightly, he readied himself as she came at him with the intention to rip his face off with those sharp nails of hers. Oh and of course, that threatening bite that Roy especially wanted to avoid.
"NH!"
"AGFRR!"
(Freddie was never this fast or unpredictable-) thought Roy, realizing how foolish it was to think that his experiences with dogs would somehow benefit this type of encounter. She even managed to claw at his shoulder which, thankfully, was protected by his vest but just barely. Those claw marks were a clear statement that taking her head on was suicide. No, he had to keep jumping backwards as he was not exactly used to dealing with an aggressive canine like her. All he could was wait until…
"!"
Roy had successfully timed his movements and pressed his palm quite aggressively against her snout to where it impacted the wall. Having gambled on it, the result was her flinching and producing the sound of one with such sensitivity. At least that stereotype was consistently as he felt a rush of adrenaline and followed with a solid round-house kick to her face. Impacted against the wall once again, she immediately grunted before falling to the ground groaning and whimpering in intense pain.
"Thanks Alex…" Murmuring, he thought about how he learned that kick from an old friend a while back. But now was not the time to reminisce as he had to keep moving. Picking up his jacket and hat, he continued his way where he found himself on another sidewalk. Once he was able to get his bearings, he began to hurry and realized that he wasted so much time dealing with that Hell Hound; if she was able to find him and get free from his previous restraints, he could not afford to underestimate the others.
"Shit where do I fucking go…oh wait." Now remembering that he had yet to finish sending a message to Niffty, he reached into his pocket. "I just need to-"
"Motherfucker!"
"!"
Directly in front of him, that short demon had once again made himself known and was rushing towards Roy in a very dangerous pace. As the demons naturally moved out of the way in fear for their well-being, Roy's stress was increasing by the second. Of course, he did attempt to stun the demon by waiting and throwing his jacket at this assassin. This had less of an effect than he wanted as the hoodie demon simply sliced through the jacket with seemingly little effort. This now had Roy leaping back as he placed his hat back on his head.
(Well so much for that- I may try with the hat if the chance comes…) Keeping what resources he had in mind, he did get nervous as the demon was quite persistent; he could barely build any distance between them as the demon finally got close enough to take a swipe at him. "Fuck just piss off!"
"I ain't missing out on a good payday!" said the demon as he tried to cut Roy yet again.
Unable to do much from running, he decided to deal with this head on. While the chains seemed like a good idea, relying too much on them would naturally make him too predictable and not be as consistently reliant. Of course, that didn't mean that he couldn't mix things up and use them moderately.
"EGH!" said the demon who barely avoided a chain causing him to cease his momentum.
With that done, Roy turned around and tried to kick at the demon. Sadly, the demon was quick enough to avoid and even counter by finally getting a nice cut on Roy's leg.
"FUUCKK-" Cursing, the cut was not deep but long and irritating. At least he kept balance as the demon continued a follow up. This time Roy went for a punch that actually landed and ceased the demon's attack for a few moments. The next punch was a lot stronger that sent the demon backwards for a bit. With actual effort Roy pressed on and even managed to get a proper hold of the demon's head before attempting to run his knee through it.
"EH!"
The demon managed to press his hands against Roy's knee but dropped his weapons in the progress. "FUCKING- NGHHHH!" Yes by this point he succeeded in preventing Roy from slamming his face against his knee. However, considering how much stronger Roy was, it would take little effort and little space for him to cause enough pain.
While he was not having that much trouble, Roy wanted to end this now and not waste his time with this; a battle of strength was not ideal when he needed as much time as possible. Thus, he pulled back his knee while adjusting his hold on the demon. Lifting him as he was about to slam him against the brick wall behind them, he began to swing the body at an angle.
"GAH!"
Roy cursed extremely loud as this demon's tail revealed a third blade and left a nice mark on Roy's chest. How deep it was wasn't obvious aside from how much it really fucking stung and pissed Roy off. Yes, he still managed to slam this troublesome little thing against the wall, but almost immediately did he drop to his knees and immediately grasped his chest.
"GHAHhh….fuck…fuck…..FUCK!" Roy glanced down and was naturally less than pleased to see the amount of blood pouring out of him. While it wasn't gushing wildly, the consistent steady flow of blood running down his chest was not a good sign. He wasn't exactly used to this type of pain even when he was alive.
Meanwhile the demon wearing his hoodie began to come to and realize that he landed quite the effective hit on him. Smiling with delight, he reached for his other blades that were left on the floor. Now with all three blades he looked at Roy with hunger…knowing that he was close to a nice payoff from Velvet herself.
"Now give me that phone or whatever it is you took from her and I promise you'll be brought to her alive…" Stepping closer, he remained cautious as Roy was trying to get on his feet again. "Make it easy on yourself."
"…" Roy trembled as the pain he felt was quite intense. At least, for now, his vision was not going black and the flow of blood was seemingly slowing down. His eyes glared with hostility as he did his best to get his breathing under control and stop his body from shaking. It was improving with each passing second but as the demon was getting closer, there might not be enough time.
"Last chance!" warned the demon. (Those chains could be a pain in the ass…I ain't doing this carelessly…) Naturally he wouldn't jump in unless this was a sure thing, and maybe this fella would have some common sense. However, color him surprise, Roy was soon standing and slowly moving to the side, causing him to mirror his movement.
"…Okay…" Roy took a deep breath before he cracked his knuckles and held up his arms, indicating that he was ready for whatever was thrown at him this time. There was silence between them and no demon was nearby as their fight had spoked nearly all of them. Patiently, Roy rarely blinked as he stared at the demon with cold deadly eyes while he received burning with desire deadly eyes.
Finally, the demon decided to press forward and immediately began slicing at Roy who was likely going to have trouble moving as he did beforehand. He was right on the mark as Roy did not attempt to run nor give any indication that he was going to bait him. Instead, Roy sidestepped forcing the demon to swing wider and less precise. He even called on those black chains of his to seemingly strike at him, only they impacted the blades he was carrying. Was he trying to throw him off balance? He did not know as he continued to press on his attack.
Thankfully for Roy, he noticed a consistent pattern thanks to his responses forcing such consistency, waiting until he sidestepped after a perfect opportunity presented itself. Not wasting it, Roy would then kick the demon as hard as he could, resulting in him being launched into the street. Just as before when he threw him, the demon was quite lightweight.
"Nghhh…" The demon groaned as he began to stand up. "Son of a bitch that hurt-"
BAM
"…" Roy watched as the demon screamed being force pressed against the trunk that hit him. His screams could be heard for a few moments before he disappeared along with the trunk. Breathing steadily, Roy closed his eyes for a moment as he finally had a sigh of relief…that is, until he opened his eyes and saw Blaze standing calmly across the street. Even as the traffic continued on between them, Roy and Blaze rarely broke eye contact for more than a few moments.
"You're quite the stubborn son of a bitch aren't you Roy?"
"…"
"No words? Well judging from the red that I can see, little Yiffer must have really screwed you up…" As he said those words, he causally took his time examining his weapon and pulled out yet another large explosive round, sliding it into his gun. "Of course, I thought our favorite bitch Linda would have dealt with you when she tracked you down…guess she couldn't handle you either."'
Shifting a bit, Roy began to move ever so calmly, resting his hand on his chest while continuing to stare out at Blaze with distaste.
"Now I hope you're not thinking to make a last desperate attempt by running into that alley…" Resting his weapon on his shoulder, he watched as Roy continued to make his way to the alley while he himself walked along his own side to stay consistent with Roy. "Because I am quite sure you can't make that run by the time I fire this thing…"
"You sure about that?" Roy called back out. By the time he reached the alley, he faced Blaze who stood directly across the street from him.
Blaze chuckled a bit as he was having quite the bit of fun with this one. Once he was done, he said, "If you're thinking you can use your tricks to mess up my shot or block it, or just plain dodge resulting in it flying past you, well you should know what I just loaded in this will make your attempts pointless…"
Roy watched as Blaze began to properly hold his weapon again. The traffic between them continued without rest with no sign of stopping. But all things do eventually come to an end as both Roy and Blaze knew this for a fact, making eye contact with no desire to yield. Even from where he was, Roy had never attempted to use his chains at such a distance. He wasn't even sure if he could reach that far given that he never had the reason to try.
Luckily for him, he had no reason to try in this instance.
As the traffic finally ceased, Blaze immediately lifted and took aim with his weapon before firing that dangerous round that he hyped beforehand. With no incoming traffic nor anything between them, the shot had free reign on the path that led to Roy. Closer did it get to Roy who had yet to move. And louder did it grow as Roy had yet to flinch. Blaze's precise aim was to be admired as even Roy could tell how consistent it remained on the projected path that would lead to his chest. Quite admirable was mutually viewed by either demon given the circumstances that they found themselves in, with Blaze's use of weaponry being appealing and Roy's seemingly lack of desire to run also being appealing.
But of course, Roy immediately began to drift backwards as the round was nearing the sidewalk that he was on. Why and how Roy was able to respond so accordingly was thanks to Alastor, the demon who insisted that he learn how to use his abilities to the fullest. Because at this moment, his chains had responded so fast, that they were able shoot from the ground behind him and wrap around his body. These very chains had been tested by Roy during the last couple of weeks where he came to realize that, with enough focus, time, and patience, they could rival many things. Like a speeding bullet coming at him…a large speeding bullet that he watched fly over him as a set of chains began to emerge from the alley walls.
Just as he hit the sidewalk, he barely had just enough time to see his chains successfully wrap around that large round and grow in length following while guiding it at the same time. Like a swing in a public playground, his chains began to guide the object of interest in a proper loop, growing more and more as it guided it upwards before shrinking more and more as it guided it downwards. Eventually, the chains vanished allowing the round to travel at the proper angle as it continued to curve while making its way towards its new target.
Blaze's smirk had vanished the moment he saw those chains greet his shot in the alley, completely in tune with what was going on as he had lowered his weapon within those few moments. How Roy was able to perfectly time yanking himself out of the way while simultaneously catching the projectile and redirecting it at him burned in the back of his skull. Perhaps he had practiced his reactions and reflexes to such a great extent, that he could do such things when the adrenaline levels were just right. Maybe he had such previous encounters that he had practiced often enough and thus, this was second nature to him. Or maybe, just maybe…
"Lucky son of a-"
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Roy watched sitting down as the round had impacted the wall that stood behind Blaze, making contact a few feet above him and bringing down a chuck of the building itself. So quick and fast, the explosion had naturally resulted in a fire so great that Roy's appearance had shifted to a consistent shade that matched the flames across the street. Something about it kept Roy in a trance, as he couldn't even blink as he watched it endlessly while reaching for his hat that fell when he did. Eventually, he closed his eyes and reached for his pocket, pulling out his phone and dialed Niffty's number.
"Hi Roy!"
"Nifty…can you pick me up…please?"
"Sure!"
"Thanks…I am…right off Teal St. and Winner Ave. by a large fire; you can't miss it…"
"On my way!"
Ending the call, Roy finally acknowledged the streaming tears that ran down his face thanks to the reflection on the screen. Yet he did not bother to wipe them. His eyes weren't irritated thus resulting in him crying, but rather a natural need to. He wasn't sad, he wasn't traumatized, nor afraid even the slightest, and he was not particularly frustrated. He just…wanted to cry. This however didn't stop him from closing his eyes and slowly lay his body back on the sidewalk.
*Sometime later*
"Oh? You watched the pictures all day? Maybe I should've left that sauna early and gone with the two of ya…"
"Eh knowing you, you would try to ruin it."
"You know it honey hahahaha!"
"Ha I would have loved to see you pissing off Roy. But in all honesty it was pretty fun. I think that you would have liked watching these classics with us."
"Hey the fact that it's in color will be fun enough; you know as a kid when I saw them go from black and white to colors I nearly shit my pants ha!" Smirking at a lovely childhood memory, he then added, "Plus free snacks? You better take me with you two the next time!"
Angel continued to laugh with Cherri over the phone as he was having a late-night snack in the kitchen dressed in a cozy robe. Having woken up in the middle of the night, he sent a text to Cherri to see if she was up. Much to his surprise, she was up and willing to talk to him. Of course, Angel was curious to know what her and Orange Prick did without him. Safe to say, pizza, blowing things up, and just hanging out as a whole did make him regret missing out.
"Heh, what was electricity made you get your first boner?"
"Oh hahaha!" mocked Angel.
"Hahaha, I can imagine how epic that must have been; my generation was spoiled…then again, Roy is the newest that we know."
"Yeah he is. So…"
"So…?"
"How big are we talking about here?"
"…" Cherri didn't understand.
"Come on girl don't hold back any details."
"What?"
"How big was he?"
"…Um what are you talking about?"
"What, you didn't fuck him?"
Cherri immediately felt herself go red as she angrily spat out, "What the fuck is wrong with you?! NO I DIDN'T FUCK HIM!"
"BOOO!" Angel, despite not being next to Cherri physically, gave a thumbs down as if that had any effect. "What, didn't you try to get in those tight pumpkin pants of his?"
"Jesus fuck Angel…" Cherri's blush vanished but she continued to rub her temple. "A guy and a girl can socialize without any means of sexual interest…"
"Well duh!"
"…Even if they're both attracted to the other's respective gender."
"Oh don't give me that bullshit!"
Both Cherri and Angel argued about it for a bit to the point where Angel was walking back to his room with a big slice of cake and a glass of milk. Eventually their conversation had cooled a bit despite Angel making some less than subtle comments.
"…I am pretty sure Roy jacks off at least five times before breakfast."
Cherri frowned as she was trying to find the logic in Angel's sexual comments. "And why would you think that?"
"You kidding me? Coming to Hell is extremely stressful! For fuck's sake I was desperately trying to suck myself off because I couldn't trust a demon not to bite my dick off!"
"Huh I guess you got a point…" Cherri, while on her bed and in her PJs, did tap her chin while she looked at the ceiling pondering at the thought. For her, she just wanted to destroy shit the moment she got here just because of how restless she was. "But he could have other ways; he's not a sexual deviant."
"Oh? And what exactly can a guy do aside from rubbing off one?"
"I don't know! …Baking?"
"I-" Angel suddenly stopped and looked down at his plate. "Okay you got me there," admitted Angel Dust. Walking along the hallway, he was almost to his room where he could enjoy cake in peace. "Nah nah, he's never really shown or mentioned that he knows-…"
Angel paused as he heard some sounds from the lobby. Loud and distinctive, Angel had to investigate as he then told Cherri to hold that thought while he made his way to the lobby. "…"
"…Wowie that could have been fatal!"
"Right you are my dear~ I see that Roy is more stubborn than he appears! I would've gambled you too have lost that fight based on your tale~"
"I even thought you passed out when I picked you up!"
"Nah I was just giving myself some time to- OW!"
"Oh sorry!"
"Holy shit Cherri!" Angel watched as Roy was being tended to. His presence was not exactly obvious but he did get a good view of how fucked up Roy was.
"What?" asked Cherri.
"What did you do to him? He's being patched up! Haha you lying slut!" said a devious Angel as he chuckled naturally.
"What- what are you talking about…?" Cherri was very confused now.
"Roy looks literally fucked up! He has wounds all over him…holy fuck that's a lot of blood!"
"Okay you're fucking with me-"
"I am not! Seriously: what did you do to him?"
"Angel: I not bullshitting you; I had nothing to do with Roy being fucked up!"
"Seriously?"
"YES! Now what happened to him?"
"I don't know Imma go ask. I'll let you know in the morning…" With that, Angel ended the call and made his way towards the trio who were in conversation.
Roy groaned as Niffty had finished stitching up the cut on his chest. While she was quick and able to do it without flaw, it still left a lasting impression on how he felt.
"Almost done!" Niffty insisted as she cut the end and applied some more of that lovely fucking alcohol that stung like a motherfucker.
"NGHHHH!" Roy's feelings were clear as he watch Niffty clean up the mess and apply what was also needed before applying a patch upon his body. "I honestly couldn't believe that I almost died from that encounter…I felt invincible but even with my chains-"
"-It was quite difficult. I naturally felt somewhat the same when I first arrived here in Hell my dear boy~ Of course, I had the hindsight to better understand my limitations prior to me running a muck around town~" said a nodding Alastor. "But I am happy to hear that my advice from before did work out well as an investment…"
"You're telling me…I thought that I had really pushed myself to the limits with my abilities but there's always room to improve…" It was admittedly a humbling experience for Roy. Yes his encounter with a few particular Overlords did make him feel like he was on top. But looking back at it now, they were actually the result of various circumstances that was led in his favor. What if…he had not been lucky from the start?
"Da hell happened to you?"
The attention shifted from Roy to Angel who finally made himself known. As expected, Roy was quite blunt about it. "I got jumped."
"Again?" This time, Angel raised an eyebrow. Not on the fact that Roy was harassed, but the fact that this time, it looked quite serious. "What shrimp did this?"
"I wouldn't call them as such; these guys were seemingly professionals hired by Velvet…" The thought naturally caused Roy to rub his face as this Overlord was becoming more troublesome than he thought. "Three of them- well, four but the fourth guy didn't really get involved- were sent by Velvet to make my existence more painful."
"You mean Wendy?"
"Yes, Wendy…why are you even up at this time?" asked Roy. Even he was started to get irritated by this point.
"Having cake, duh." Gesturing at his plate, he placed his glass of milk on a spot where just enough space would allow it to stay balance. "Had the cravings and heard the rambling over here in the lobby."
Roy looked at him and then his plate. "…There's…cake?" He looked at Alastor and Niffty. "When did we get cake?"
"Ha, are you being serious right now my boy?" asked Alastor.
"We always have cake! Husk loves it so much that I have to bake a new one every night so that everyone gets a chance!" said a proud Niffty.
"Yup! This stuff is as good as crack!" Angel had actually began to take the first bite out of his slice, showcasing an expression of approval before lifting his glass off the plate for some lovely milk.
"Cake sounds good actually…" Roy watched as Niffty finally finished cleaning and tending to his injuries. "Thank you…I need to take my next shift off…" Standing up slowly, he stretched a bit and examined himself. No intense pain but his body was really spent and he needed to sleep this off…
Alastor stood up and stood beside Roy. "Perhaps a few shifts would be ideal my dear fella! We can't have residents who stay at my investment dying randomly while at the job! Imagine the scandal that would bring!" he laughed as he followed Roy out of the lobby.
"Jesus Alastor you're a real asshole…" Angel took another bite of cake as he too walked along side Roy.
"Your sense of humor is admirable Alastor…nfhhhh…" Roy stretched his neck while applying some weight onto his shoulder. A promising sound was heard as he felt quite the relieving sensation.
"Humor?" asked Alastor looking at Roy.
"You know maybe you should ask Niffty to drive you around fromo now on. Getting jumped once a month is one thing…" He took a sip of his milk before letting out a sigh. "…but once a week? Even in Hell no one has that type of bad luck," explained Angel.
Roy couldn't argue with that. Then again, the first time he called for a ride from Niffty, that didn't stop an overly confident scrub from trying to mug him after his first shift at Mimzy's. However he wasn't barely able to get out of it through the skin of his teeth as what to just happened to him. "Yeah or get my own car after that point. That would-…"
"Roy?" asked Niffty. They all stopped at that moment.
"The door…" The smooth tone that came from Alastor clarified things as he adjusted his monocle.
To where the bedroom door was, there were many markings indicating that it was forced opened. Despite this, it was not disconnected from the frame as Roy pushed it fully opened. Soon, the lights were turned on and it was confirmed that Roy's personal space was violated.
"What the fuck…" Roy looked around as things were flipped over and there were more of those markings spotted across the room. Did someone literally cut the place up? "Who came in here swinging a katana in here…" His tone was low but irritated as he looked around and had a feeling that Velvet was behind this yet again. "I swear-…No….no….NO!"
Screaming soon echoed throughout the hotel as Roy cursed and repeated the word "no" while dropping to his knees and looked under the bed. Flipping more things around, he angrily verified what he hoped wouldn't happen. Naturally, there was questioning with what exactly was going on with him.
"What's wrong?"
"SHE TOOK IT!"
"Took what?" asked Niffty.
"What the fuck is going on?"
The hyena known as Crymini was looking out from her bedroom door with a very tired expression on her face. Like Angel, she too was wearing a robe to cover her body as she eventually made her way towards them. "It's WAY too fucking early for all this screaming!" she complained.
"Apologies my dear, but it would seem that someone broke into Roy's bedroom!" said an amused Alastor. By this point he was holding his chin and glancing around the room with great curiosity, even knowing what these markings meant…
"For real…?" Crymini rubbed one eye as she came closer to see that Roy's room was indeed fucked up. "Holy shit you weren't kidding."
"Yeah we should probably get security or somethin'…" Angel continued to eat his slice as he looked up at the ceiling. There marks on the ceiling as well... (Why even bother?)
"That would be an understatement," agreed Crymini as she got closer and was now also in the room. "Roy? What are you-"
"SHE TOOK THE FUCKING RUG!"
"What?"
"SHE FUCKING TOOK IT!" Roy finally faced all of them and him being mad would be quite the understatement. His expression darken as rage was filling the now glowing orange demon. "THAT FUCKING CUNT TOOK MY FUCKING RUG!"
"Your rug?" Angel raised an eyebrow as he was about to drink more milk.
"Oh my, the same one that Rosie gave you as a gift?" asked Alastor who turned to Roy.
"YES!"
"Well that's quite unfortunate! I am sure Rosie will be sadden to learn that her gift to you was stolen!" exclaimed Alastor as he looked at the room again.
"THAT BITCH CROSSED THE LINE…" By this point Roy's appearance began to shift: his skin began to turn into a deep shade of orange, black completely covered his eyes; even where his eyebrows were thus leaving no detail. Lines mimicking tears trailed down his face, bringing attention to his teeth and internal mouth remaining black with that orange tongue of his. "WHEN I FIND HER-"
"What's with the noise?"
This time Vaggie and Charlie appeared, hair a mess and also wearing their night robes with looks of annoyance. "What is going on here?" Vaggie then asked, still trying to improve her vision with eye rubs.
"They took Roy's rug," said Angel as he didn't bother to look at the girls and continued to eat.
"His…rug?" This time, Charlie got in on this and finally realized what happened to Roy's room. "W-What the…who…?" Charlie couldn't believe this as she held her messy head in horror, stepping into the room to see how fucked up it was.
"I am going to kill that cunt!"
Charlie looked at Roy who happened to revert back to his most common appearance, but was clearly injured as his exposed upper body revealed the patches. "Roy…?"
"We really need security…" Vaggie looked around the room and was not expecting this to happen at the hotel.
"That's what I said!" Angel was almost done with his milk.
"What are you doing Roy?" asked Crymini. Roy was putting his ruined shirt and vest back on.
"I am going to find Wendy and get my rug back!" growled a pissed off Roy.
"You serious?" Once again, Angel could not understand Roy. "Buddy, it's just a rug."
"Angel, it tied the room together!"
"You know you keep saying that…" Angel honestly never understood what Roy ever meant by that.
Alastor spoke up. "I would not recommend going after that Overlord Roy; you're quite far from ideal state. Perhaps you should at least rest now and think with a clearer mind when it's not so late…"
"I- No, fuck that I wanna find that bitch now!" Roy was naturally impatient. He had few pleasures in Hell and that rug was one of them. Not only that but the fact that Velvet had sent those bounty hunters and ruined his living space put him quite in the mood. "And when I do-"
"Here Roy!"
"I-"
Niffty smiled as she held up a slice of cake. The same type that Angel was still enjoying and the same size that he himself got. "Some cake always helps!"
"I-" However Roy immediately took the plate and glass of milk that she also offered, placing said glass down on the still standing night stand so that he could take a bite of that cake. "Okay cake now, and I'll sleep this off first…hmmm…" Roy continued to eat as this cake was amazing and he was feeling much better. "Holy shit, is this Italian cream cake?"
"Yeah huh!" said a proud Niffty. Naturally those who enjoyed her food was a nice stroke to her pride.
"There's cake?" asked Crymini and Vaggie at the same time.
"Vaggie- we both agreed on pulling through on our diet!" This time Charlie put her foot down as she and her girlfriend were committed to maintaining their figures.
"But it's cake!" complained Vaggie, actually somewhat begging by this point.
"Yeah don't be a buzzkill your highness!" said Crymini, with a natural mocking tone.
"Urgh…" Charlie rubbed her temples. "Fine, I want cake too…" There was approval from the others.
