Chapter 11

Alina and Aleksander walked back to the tavern with their goodies and sat down in the dinning area. There were a few other Grisha there plus Kaz, Jesper and Inez doing there own thing. Aleksander decide to feed Alina her strawberries, she was giggling quietly enjoying been fed by Aleksander. To Aleksander this felt wonderful he never had the chance to be happy or a normal boy in love with a beautiful girl.

Alina was onto her second box when Mal stumbled in with beautiful women, they went up to the bar and ordered drinks. Aleksander didn't notice as he was whispering sweet nothing into Alina's ear as much as she was enjoying Aleksander attention, she was jealous of the girl that was with Mal. She turned more so she was facing Aleksander and giving him the attention that he deserves, this man loved her. He told her when he came to her when she was being whipped that he fell in love with her the first time he saw her, she knew her heart quickened when she saw him in the tent for the first time. But for too long she was in love or told herself she loved Mal, she was fighting her head and her heart to who she truly wanted to be with.

She kissed Aleksander on the cheek, "I'm tired" she said and got up and left him shocked.

She walked up stairs and down the corridor then she realised she never asked Aleksander which one was his room, but then she thought whilst she was confused of her feeling maybe she shouldn't string him along. She dropped her lip and began to cry as she moved into the room she was occupying and sat down. And began to cry even more as she lied down soon, she was fast asleep.

Aleksander after a few minutes came out of his shock and then he looked around and saw Mal making out with a girl at the bar. Aleksander growled a little but then he realised Alina was hormonal and needed to sort out her feelings for both men. He had already waited centuries for her, he was prepared to wait until she figured herself out. He decided that he would head up to bed, when he was walked into his room he saw she wasn't there. Aleksander then walked across the corridor and put his ear to the door he could hear Alina cry and it broke his heart. Aleksander wanted to go in but he thought better and went back to his room and sleep.

Alina had spent the next few hours waking up from her dreams of the past, she woke up in the orphanage where mal would run to her when the kids were after him and she would protect him and taking the beating from the others. After they turn 10 the Grisha guards began to turn up to test the children, Mal would always drag Alina away telling her that she didn't want to be with Grisha. When they came back that night Anna K would always take them aside giving them a tongue lashing for missing the test and then beat them as they embarrassed her and the Duke.

When Mal and Alina finally were made to have the test when they were 13 years old Alina purposely hurt her self after hearing they wouldn't test Mal due to his injured hand which he accidentally got caught in a door. She never told Mal what she did but Mal was so happy when she was negative for Grisha ability.

Then the next image she saw was Mal telling her that he got into the army and was leaving her behind, he said he would write. But now she realised he never looked back when she shouted out Goodbye. When they finally met up 6months later he ignored her even thou he wrote every so often, he was entertaining a young lady. However when a drunken young solider came up to Alina and started to talk Alina, he was removed very quickly by Mal who took his place and apologies he didn't want to be rude to the young lady. That few months they were back together Mal would only look or her pay her attention when others gave her attention, everywise he would spend his time with other females

They were separated again quiet quickly with Mal moving one way and Alina the other, Mal never said goodbye but he wrote her a month later saying sorry he was in rush. They met up again just before everything happen with the fold. She realised that she idolised a man, loved a man who used her, who never protected her, who would later tell her that he loved her but would sleep with other women and in the end would never accept for who she was.

When it came to Aleksander she started to look back at the year they knew each other, how he came to rescue her when the other Grisha didn't when they were escorting her to the little palace for the first time. The way he looked at her like she was the only person in the world when he would walk past her or watch her practice .

That night when she had visited him in his chambers where he spoke about the war, been betrayed and losing good men and women. He had opened up to a stranger but he also shown that he care about her by giving her a drink of his wine and tearing up when he said he had been waiting for her for a long time.

He offered her his colour early on in her training she should of seen then the love he had for her. Then at the Fete when she finally wore his colour he told her she was beautiful and when she showed her powers to the Nobel, public and the Royal family she could only look at him and he could only look at her. When they finally escaped everyone and ended back in his room, he was sweet and kind and asked if she wanted to go further. They moved to his room he was slow and patient with her, he worshipped her body, she realised truly that he loved her.

She understood now why he reacted the way he did when finding out people wanted her dead or kidnapped. Alina woke up when she realised that she had chosen she wanted to be with Aleksander, she got up and walked out of her room. She then realised she never asked which room was Aleksander, before she headed back to her room Alina decide to get a drink downstairs.

Alina was sitting at the bar drinking some water when she heard someone sit next to her, she turned to see Mal. "are you okay Alina?" he asked

She just nodded at him, and started drinking again

"Alina?" he asked

"I'm okay Mal I just needed a drink" she replied a little angry.

Mal knew Alina had seen him with the other girl, he knew that he didn't belong with Alina, they could be happy but not in love. He wasn't trying to make her jealous he just wanted to move on, and the look she gave before she left the dinning room he knew she was jealous. He decided to end that so he grabbed her chin turned her and kiss Alina, she was shock and didn't move her lips. Mal moved his hand to the back of her head and tried to slip his tongue in her mouth but she wouldn't let him. Then he let her go, "No sparks" he said.

"I belong with Aleksander I knew that before I just " Alina replied And looked down

"you needed proof I could see it before, Alina we could be happy but never in Love. You would be come sickly again coz you wouldn't use your powers to make me happy. With him before at the table it was the happiest I have ever seen you, you were Glowing Alina. You belong with him Alina, I am coming back to be on his council but not to make trouble for you both"

"Thanks Mal" and she hugged him and got up. Then she frown, Mal smiled , "the General room is across from your room he didn't want to be far away from you" Alina turned back and kissed Mal's cheek and walk away.

Alina got to Aleksander door and decide not to knock she opened the door slowly peaking in to see if it was the room she needed when she saw Aleksander lying a sleep she smiled. She walked in and closed the door she lean up against the door watching him sleeping peaceful, she smiled again. Alina loved this man, she was in love with this man she walked and sat next to him.

Aleksander felt someone sit down and he woke and sat up quickly noticing Alina sitting there, she put her hand on his cheeky and moved to kiss him. He responded to her instantly she slowly moved her self to straddle him not moving her lips from him ...
