Hello there, my name's Alex.

I have a few hobbies, mostly focusing on growing carnivorous plants, drawing, image editing, and writing(newest obsession).

I love writing, but I sometimes have a hard time making those thoughts turn into full-fledged stories worth sharing. English is not my first language-I am a Spanish speaker, so I do apologize for any mistakes I might miss. I do my own beta-reading and spellcheck/grammar revisions, so it does take me some time to get things going as I end up double and triple checking to a fault. I strive to improve on any problems, so I might update older chapters with a few fixes.

This first story I've ever published-Against all odds-will likely be my main focus for quite some time. I've never dedicated so much energy into a story, so I'm hoping it'll be enjoyable for you as it's been for me. I'm by no means a pro or experienced, but I'll do my best to share something you can enjoy. I work full-time so I'm dividing some of my free time after work and on the weekends between this and my personal life, so please be aware there might be times of faster or slower uploads.

I am heavily editing/revising the story to improve its pace/flow, and I am very grateful for all of the insight provided.

UPDATE: Welp, I ended up writing The Buu Incident.It was meant as a gritty, gloomy one-shot but it's turning out to be a full, proper story. Hope you enjoy it!

Against all odds

I hope you can enjoy this gloomy, chaotic mess my brain has concocted.

I feel like this version of Gohan has been left unexplored for far too long. This version, in my opinion, is ripe for the taking, with its potential being incredibly vast; the possibilities for good, neutral(and maybe somewhat evil in the eyes of some) versions of himself being there depending on how his fragile mental state is handled and affected by his surroundings and peers. Forged into a fighting machine through a losing, relentless war. Dealing with stacking losses, mentally broken and alone...somewhat unpredictable. Willing to do what is needed to protect others as he learned back home from his terrible mistakes. Suddenly thrown into a restrictive, strict world where such actions would have serious legal ramifications and consequences. Tiny, seemingly insignificant choices or actions on his part or theirs could reshape it all.

Many of the elements and plots we've seen from the MHA side of things will be included, although I cannot guarantee the events will unfold the way they did in the original 'timeline' and how some characters might be affected. New Pro Heroes and Villains will show up as well.

On Gohan's side of the story, I've adjusted the time he's been battling the androids by about 5 years to bring his age closer to his counterparts in the MHA world so he'll be around 18 instead of 23 if he somehow gets unwillingly dragged into UA. Heavy AU on the DBZ side of things.

I've set the rating to T, but be aware there'll be some violent content and minor cursing. I might have to up it to M depending on how much the lack of gritty details at T affects the story.

With all of this important stuff over with, I'd like to say I've always written random stories but rarely followed through with them or went as far as to publish them, so this is my first official attempt. I'm working on this on my own, proof-reading and checking for any grammar/spelling issues to the best of my capabilities.

I'm sure some might feel like I've left some questions unanswered, but rest assured the answers you seek will come soon(in-story).

The Buu Incident

I did not expect this story to end up with such an awesomely positive reception. It was meant as a one-shot but now it's becoming a full story. Not sure where it's going yet(story-wise or crossover-wise). So many things I want to explore.

I am trying to not make it a curbstomp and a proper struggle for the MHA world. I want them to fight and rise to the occasion, even if they have little to no chance. They have the technology to improve their odds. I want to explore the psychological aspect of their struggle, and how they will deal with him. Will they lash out and ruin their chances to control him? Will the Villains try to control him? Regardless, things will get ugly and gloomy. Perhaps they might get some help down the road from a world beyond? We'll see. Otherwise, it's going to go downhill quite fast and might need an M-rating one day.

Lost most of the progress in the next chapter, probably about 8k words. Still trying to piece it back together. Quite frustrating as it's not fitting quite right yet. Hopefully, I'll have it ready in the next month. Work should slow down soon so I'll have more time to spend on this story, as it's so much more time and mentally consuming than The Buu Incident.
