A.N.: Apparently, the video I watched to write this raid into the story included cheesing Riven, so...oops. It's already written in, so I'm just going to...yeah.
Riven
They entered a large room with crystals spread around it for light as several Taken appeared. As they did, Hunter and the others killed them all instantly, only to fall still as their target appeared. Hunter's arms went limp. He'd severely underestimated Riven's size. Its head alone was easily the size of a Fallen Walker, more than double his height from bottom to top. Its head was a pair of points on the top and bottom with a seam straight down the middle of its head, crossing its mouth like it could separate into four parts, which wouldn't surprise Hunter, considering Ahamkara were shapeshifters. Riven's upper jaw was lined with pointed, needle-like teeth, while the lower jaw had strips of jagged ones meant for shredding flesh, these teeth running front to back with gaps between them.
As Riven's dark grey body emerged from the shadows of the upper level before them, blade blood or Taken darkness flooded off of the ledge, and its massive hands, each as big arpund its head, slammed down to either side of it, allowing it to drag itself out of whatever passageway it was partially stuck in. Then, the top half pf its head split down the middle and folded outward in a pair of flaps, opening to something resembling a pair of cat ears, while the newly exposed part of its head was a fleshy pink and bore ten, seemingly randomly-placed, violet eyes. The bottom half of its head parted only slightly as Riven opened her mouth to roar, revealing a Taken Blight inside her mouth. Instantly, everyone opened fire, their bullets slamming into her rapidly. However, when a burst hit the Blight, Riven roared in pain and recoiled. Everyone targetted it instantly, the Hero lesping into the air to hurl several Daybreak swords as Ikora fired several Nova Bombs. Shiro hurled an Arc Staff, and Saint a Hammer of Sol. As the resulting explosions erupted from Riven's mouth, she roared, retreating back into the darkness as Ikora used a Daybreak sword to form a Well of Radiance. Hunter felt his Light Energy recharging quickly, but not nearly fast enough. Suddenly, the world around them distprted as Riven dragged them all into the Ascendant Plane, along with Ikora's Well. Taken began to appear on every flosting chunk of ground and wall around them instantly, and they all began to fire, lookong around.
"Up top!" Saint announced suddenly. "There is a portal!"
He knelt down, Petra climbing onto his back, and they all took off, leaping from one chunk to another rapidly, slaughtering Taken as they went. Finally, after several minutes of climbing, they reached the portal and emergex back into the same room again, just as Riven reappeared, once again roaring. Once again, they all opened fire, several rockets exploding against the Blight, thick, purple blood flying from anywhere their bullets found the Ahamkara's body, and thick black Taken goo flying from the Blight. Riven roared, beginning to retreat, only for Elsie to slam her hands into the ground. Instantly, a massive glacier of Stasis Crystals burst into existence around Riven's neck, trapping her. She shrieked, and the ground shook violently as she thrashed, struggling to break free. Somewhere, a wall collapsed, a ceiling crumbled. The crystals cracked, but before she could break free, another volley of Light Powers, this time matched with a Stasis Grenade from Hunter that sent crystal spikes bursting outwars in every direction, exploded into the Blight. Riven shrieked out in a high, agonized shriek, flailing again before light suddenly shone from her mouth. It flashed blindingly after a moment, and Riven collapsed, her jaws hanging wide open. They all sprinted forward and leapt into her mouth, running down her throat. Here, Hunter found himself unable to stop staring around himself. It was just so bizarre. At the back of her throat were a ring of small pink fleshy things, looking like spikes but flexible cartilage. After that, the walls of her throat were slimy, purple, and rough. Then, they reached what Hunter would have called the stomach, which was lined with hundreds of thigh-high purple feelers, probably thousands. However, he wasn't sure it actually was a stomach, because hovering in the middle was Riven's heart, surrounded by a Taken Blight. They all opened fire, destroying the Blight in seconds. Then, the hesrt inside of it, which was a glowing, black and gold sphere about a foot and a half in diameter, dropped to the ground.
"Ah, I've waited so long to fulfill one last wish," Riven spoke.
"Fetch the heart!" Kalli shouted urgently. "Hurry!"
Hunter grabbed the heart, and instantly, a wave of Darkness passed over Riven's flesh toward her mouth. They all swore, sprinting back put of her throat and emerged to find a horde of Taken waiting. Ikora reacted first, Arc Energy screaming over her body as she began to fire bolts of lightning from her hands, each bolt clearing an entire group of Taken. Hunter nodded to himself and all of them continued to run, everyone clearing Hunter a path as he sprinted. Except, in his eyes, there was a faint, shimmering, violet trail on the floor.
"Follow our trail!" Kalli instructed.
"We will lead you to us," Shuro Chi said.
The others all ignored them, focusing on the Taken, but Hunter charged along the trail at full speed, the others barely keeping up while fighting. However, Hunter noticed a problem. His sight was darkening.
"We're being teleported!" Spark warned. "Everyone stay back!"
Everyone complied, and a moment later, Hunter's sight went black before he begsn to fall. He flipped, landing on his feet, and looked around. He was on a small, glowing, blue island in the center of a sea of Taken goo, Taken swarming toward him from all sides, and no sign of the others or a portal.
"Final stand time," Hunter mused. "Alright. Let's begin."
He jumped and formed two pairs of Stasis Crystal kamas, hurling the sets in two different directions, setting off two Stasis Storms. Then, he drew the Ace of Spades in his left hand and his Pulse Rifle in his right. He opened fire with both, exploding headshots and swarms of SIVA drones rapidly clearing groups, but the Taken were still cloasing in quickly. Suddenly, a pillar of darkness with a Taken Blight in the center of it appeared.
"That Blight's harmonizing with the Blight encasing Riven's Heart!" Spark said.
Hunter spun, shooting it, to no effect, then sprinted over and punched it. The second his hand made contact, he felt corruption fill him again, but the Blight shot skyward and vanished into the darkness above. Hunter looked around, just as Taken Knights and Phalanxes charged onto the island with him. He sighed, putting both guns away, then drew Worldine Zero and his left melee dagger, holding the dagger in reverse grip as he gripped his sword one-handed. Then, he exploded forward. Very old memories, from before he was an Exo, before he'd settled sown with Elsie, drifted to the surface of his mind as a Knight slashed, and he spun, his dagger deflecting the much, much larger blade easily before Worldline Zero severed the Knight's torso diagonally. Then, he all but launched himself forward, gripping his sword with two hands before spinning. Arc Energy screamed, and a dozen Taken, including four Knights and two Phalanxes, died. He shot the other way, his sword mowing down six more. A Phalanx charged from behind, only for a knife to stab it in the face, his left hand able to throw knives while holding the melee dagger easily.
And then, Sidearm shots were flashing past his head. He ignored them, specifically because Shiro's aim moved away from him, and continued to slaughter any Taken his blade could reach. A Taken Psion's shot grazed his arm, but as he shot forward and spun, slaughtering that Psion, the tqo it split into, and the two they split into, his SIVA regenerated the damage. His SIVA wasn't back to full strength yet, but it was enough to heal minor injuries. After another moment, two more Blights appeared and Hunter raced over to one, touching it, Shiro following his lead. They continued to slaughter the Taken, and after a few more seconds, two more appeared. Hunter waited as Shiro touched one. Hunter narrowed his eyes, waiting.
"Now!" Spark said.
Hunter shot forward, touching it just as his corruption faded, then returned to slaughtering the Taken. A few seconds later, three more appeared as Elsie joined them, instantly grabbing the Lament and ripping into the taken. Hunter touched one of the Blights and Elsie touched another. Shiro waited a few more seconds, then touched the last as his corruption finished fading. They continued on in this way, each of them trying to keep their corruption as low as possible, and slowly, the others began to join them until only Petra wasn't there. Each time Blights appeared, there were more of them, as well, until there was one for each as Saint joined them. Each of them slaughtered their way to one and touched it, then felt themselves beginning to be transported again. Then, they were all blinded by a bright white light before reappearing in a room with a pit at the center and Kalli and Shuro Chi stsnding to either side of it, the heart floating over it.
"Riven of a Thousand Voices, Architect of this city!" Kalli called out. "Return to us, for the sake of the plans to come!"
The Darkness suddenly surged up off of the heart, leaving it as a fleshy, blue sphere floating over the pit.
"It is done," Kalli said. "We will meet you on the other side."
The door behind them opened, and they all turned, walking into the next room. However, what they found was the room full of statues, this time with a chest sitting before each.
"As promised," Petra said. "Queen Mara offered you the riches of the city, and here it is. Take all you can carry."
Everyone except Hunter and Elsie spread into the room, everyone habing the decency to only open a single chest each. Once they'd colled what they wanted, mostly meaning Glimmer, they all nodded to Petra, who motioned for them to follow and quickly led them out.
