Creeping along the darkened hallway in the depths of the Jolly Roger, Regina Mills trailed after Harry Jones, scarcely daring to breath. While teaming up with her daughter's boyfriend was not high on her list of things to do, desperate times called for desperate measures. After teleporting her children away from the family crypt, she had faced down her mother and regrettably had lost.
Cora had swiftly transported them onto the deck of the Jolly Roger. She then calmly announced that until Regina came to her senses, she would remain imprisoned on the pirate ship until further notice. Since then, Regina had been locked inside a room that she soon found was right next to where Harry Jones was being held captive by his own father. Breaking through her mother's enchantment was difficult, but Regina was nothing if not persistent. It helped that once she was able to break through the lesser enchantment on Harry's door, the boy had managed to help her break her own door down by force.
And so, the unlikely allies made their way to freedom. Said journey to freedom was halted when they almost collided into the town's new librarian. Belle teetered back on her heels, blue eyes impossibly wide. All three stared at one another for several precious heartbeats before Regina spoke.
"Dare I ask why you're here, bookworm?" Regina drawled, eyes darting around anxiously for a sign of her mother or Hook. While she could handle the pirate captain, her mother was another story. "Unless you've been kidnapped too."
"I-I was looking for Hook. Or, well," she amended when the pair stared at her alarmed disbelief, "I'm looking for something he took. A-a shawl, that used to belong to Rumple's son..." She trailed off, staring curiously at Harry's suddenly white face. "I take it by your expression, you know what he took?"
"Aye," Harry rasped. He looked terribly conflicted, Regina noted with interest. "I do. It's likely in his quarters." Without a word, he turned and headed back the way he'd come. "This way."
"Jones!" Regina hissed, glaring at the back of his head, followed by Belle's, when the woman followed him. "Did you forget we're supposed to be escaping?!" Throwing her hands up in the air, she was left with little choice but to storm after them.
"How do you know about it?" Belle's whisper was hushed, yet it seemed to ring in Harry's ear. "Did your father- " She trailed off when Harry stopped and turned his head to stare at her with dark eyes.
"I know about it because my mother made it."
After being alive for a few centuries, Gold could freely admit that there was little that surprised him. But, even though his gift of foresight had proven difficult to remaster in Storybrooke, nothing could have prepared him for the sight that awaited him on the deck of the Jolly Roger. Belle was on the deck, clutching Bae's shawl tightly against her chest. Above her stood Harry Jones, holding a sword aloft and held threateningly toward his father.
"Do ye really wanna do this, Da?" Harry demanded, refusing to let Hook get near Belle. His father had clearly been driven mad, to go along with Cora, to attack an innocent like Belle, all in the name of revenge. He didn't want to know what the pair had done to poor Archie; the poor shrink's bruised face and haunted expression had told him enough of what had happened. "Do ye really wanna fight me over this?"
"I'll do what needs to be done," Hook's voice was uneven; he was clearly shaken by the sight of his offspring defying him so openly.
Refusing to allow this family quarrel to continue, Gold chose to announce his presence. "Oh, will you?"
The situation quickly dissolved into chaos, and it was that chaos that Evie and Regina stumbled upon. Regina watched in alarm as Gold tried his best to beat Hook to death, while Belle pleaded loudly with her lover to stop before he actually killed the pirate. Across the deck lay Harry Hook, sprawled out and still. Evie raced to his side, and, after pausing to look at Hook's bloodied face, Regina swiftly decided she could've cared less about the fate of the man who'd threatened the life of her daughter to her face.
"Harry," Evie whispered, cradling his head in her lap. Glancing up when her mother reached her side, Evie was barely aware of the tears streaming down her face. "Mama, please..."
Shushing her daughter gently, Regina fell to her knees and placed her hands over the ugly looking gash across his chest. Magic gathered in her hands, and soon the flesh was knitting itself back together. Color returned to Harry's cheeks, and soon his eyes were fluttering open to meet Evie's. Sitting up, he leaned heavily on Evie, raising his head to meet Regina's guarded gaze head on. Instantly realizing what the older woman had done for him, for her daughter, he gave her a nod.
"Thank ye, Regina."
She hesitated a moment. "You're welcome."
"Please!" Belle's shattered cry drew their attention to the other side of the deck. Struggling to stand, Harry stood between the two Mills women, tight-lipped at the sight of the Dark One on his father. "Show me I'm not wrong, Rumple. Please."
It took a moment, one where everyone seemed to hold their breath. Finally, Gold released his grip on Hook and stood, summoning his cane from where he'd thrown it. "You take your ship," he hissed, "and leave Storybrooke. Sail off the edge of the bloody world for all I care."
He stormed from the ship, Belle at his side. Coughing wetly, Hook managed to sit up and caught sight of his healed son. "Lad..."
Without a word or a glance in his father's direction, Harry hooked an arm around Evie's waist and gently tugged on her. "Come on, princess. Let's get you and yer mum home. I'm sure Henry's worried sick."
