Hey there! Back with the new chapter!
Number Ten, thank you for the comment! Things will be sorted, somewhat. SO I hope you like that.
and Ghostwriter, thank you so much, guys!
I wanna address something here. It's been a long time since I have been in the OUAT fandom or even seen the show, and to be very frank I have sort of lost track of the storylines I had planned. While I will try and tie up all the loose ends if something is left unaddressed, feel free to imagine it ends your way.
Now onto the chapter!
Mary margaret was very happy minding her own business. She and Neal were fine- her job at the school paid well, she had her life figured out-somewhat and she was making progress in her life.
So under no circumstance did she need David Nolan stopping her in the middle of teh street.
"Mary Margaret!"
It had been a long time since she had been adressed by that voice, so it definitely gave her a pause. Neal seemed far too happy for his own good, but otherwise looked as confused as her. She should not be doubting her son, but his closeness with David worried her.
"Wait!"
She ignored the cry, pulling Neal away with her. People were staring. She did not want another drama.
Unfortunately, the man she was trying to avoid managed to clock her just in the centre of the street. He came rushing in front of her, blocking her way. Mary Margaret tried to dodge, but he was relentless. People had started to stare.
"David, move aside."
"No please," he almost begged, "Mary Maragaret, I need you to listen to me."
"For what?" she hissed, looking at the stares aimed at her. Even Gold was out of his shop, along with Regin and, oh god, Emma, "Was destroying my life once not enough for you?"
"I never wanted to do that," David said, looking at down at Neal who looked both shocked and happy, "Please, I need you to listen to me."
"What excatly could you possibly say that would make this better?"
"I love you."
She was not sure if he had shouted it or not, but the words echoed in her head nonetheless. Everyone continued to stare as Neal's mouth fell open and Mary Maragret stood frozen.
"I love you, and I was foolish to let you go, I..." David ran a hand through his hair, "You never did any wrong."
"The town doesn't see it that way."
It was then that David looked up, being on the other side of everyone's stares, "All right then. EVERYONE!"
Those who were not paying attention to them now had David's attention. Mary Maragret closed her eyes and tightly held on to Neal, wishing this nightmare was over. Yet a little part of her heart was searing as David took the centre stage.
"I know that there have been many rumours in this town about me and Mary Maragret and Kathryn, and some of you have been downright cruel while tackling the issues. But it's not her fault- it's none of their fault. If you want to blame someone, blame me. I was the one who cheated on Kathryn, i was the one who fell in love with Mary Maragret."
When he looked back her, she was looking scared, but something hopeful alight in her eyes, "I knwo you don't trust me Mary Margaret, but I love you. If you give me the chance, I will prove it to you."
"Kathryn..."
"She knows and she agrees," Davdi pleaded, "Please, Let me in."
Mary Maragret shook her head, "I...I cannot. Neal come on."
Ignoring the stares of everyone, Mary Margaret grabbed her son's hand and walked away, her head ducked. Even as she walked away, her heart started to bloom in hope.
"Well, that was a display," Regina snorted.
Emma smiled, "the curse is breaking. Things are changing, right?"
"It would certainly seem so," Gold said weth a tilt of head, "Well, I think this is enough drama for the day."
"Yes," Emam nodded, "maybe- I think we should meet later this evening? To plan things out. We cannot let things go as they are going."
"Yes," Belle swooped in, "We can meet at my place."
"Your place?" Bae asked, cofnused.
"It's a house on the outskirts of the town," Belle said with a smile, "I think that would suffice?"
Once everyone agreed to the plan, everyone parted. Bae followed his father and step-mother to their home, to look for Gideon while Regina rushed to get to Henry. Emma and Bae decieed to see Milah later that day, but for the moment she needed some rest.
As Emma moved to get a sandwich, another idea formed in her head.
David sat in Granny's, his head between his hands. He wondered if he did the right thing- while it was dramatic to say, he needed to make a statement. It seemed to do some magic, for Ruby was relatively less cold with him and one of the regulars even smiled at him.
"Hey David."
He looked up, surprised as Emma sat down beside him. They had barely talked, and Emma was closer to Mary Margaret. He wouldn't blame her to hit him up or something.
"Hello Emma," he said cautiously.
Emma smiled, ordering a hot chocolate from Ruby, "I wanted to tell you, I support you."
"What?"
"Pursue Mary Margaret," Emma said seriously, "She loves you, but she is hurt. She needs to knwo you really love her."
"You are fine with this?"
Emma shrugged, "I know you will make her happy. You are a good man."
"I think you have too much faith in me," David muttered sadly.
To his surprise, Emma snorted, "You will find I have just enough faith in you. All the best."
And just like that, she was gone. David frowned. Something about Emma supporting him amde him feel better, though David had no idea what.
Killian was at Milah's side at the first light of teh day. She was pleassantly surprised to see him, but something else seemed to simmer behind her eyes as Killian dropped a kiss on her forehead.
"Everything all right?" he asked.
Milah smiled, taking in a depe breath, "Just, surprised. Not much has changed."
Killian chuckled, tilting hsi head to teh side, "What did you expect to change? Nothing changes in Storybrook, ever."
Indeed, nothing did change. For teh rest of the morning, Killian sat beside Milah and told her of whatever he could remember. She had started to lose her cold and guarded exterior and soon enough Milah was laughing at Killian's jokes.
Yet as the day came to pass, something began to knaw at killian's heart. Every moment he spent with milah felt like a betrayal. He could not quite put his finger on it, when Emma and Baelfire appeared.
Their meeting was happy, especially between teh mother and son. Emma stood at teh side awkwardly and when her eyes met killian, there was something. Imemdiately, she looked away, causing killian to frown. She had been fine with him before- whatever happened now?
"Killian?"
His attention was grabbed back to Milah, "yes Love?"
"can you get us some breakfast?"
"Of course," he said, throwing a smile to bae. He walked to the canteen, ready to order four sandwiches when Emma appeared besid ehim.
"hey," she said awkwardly, "I needed some coffee."
"All right."
the two stood in awkward silence, unsure of how to proceed. When they recieved their orders from teh hospital canteen, they began to make their way back.
It was quite sudden that a stretcher began to be passed and Killian and Emma had to side-step into a corridor. Soon enough there was a crowd forming and both of them had to continue moving backwards. They were soon at dead end, locked as the group passed. By the looks of it someone had met with an accident, and their whole extended family had come.
Killian roleld hsi eyes. Teh residnets of Storybrook could be downright stupid at times.
"Killian?"
Killian hummed, turning to look at Emma. However, there was a frown on her face and her gaze was struck somewhere else following her line of sight, Killian foudn himself watching Selena inside a room. However, she was not alone.
With her stood only one of the cruelest and greedy man of Storybrook, H. Damen. He was a businessman, and often create dtrouble for anyone whom he did not like. Killain had no love lost for him, but it was intriguing to see him with someone he should have no association with.
"is that hades?" Emma asked in a hushed whisper.
"Hades?" Killian frowned, "Don't know his first name, it might as wlel. It will suit that bastard."
"What is he doing with Selena?"
Killian shrugged, "Looks like they are having an ultrasound."
"But shouldn't Robin-" before she oculd say it, Emma's eyes widened.
Killian looked ta her, eyebrows raised, "You okay?"
"What if Robin is not teh father, but hades is?" Emma said hurriedly, "Oh my God, i need to tell Regina, we nee dto figure it out."
"Whoa, Calm down!" he said, pushing Emma into a storeroom behind, "Listen, Damen is not someone you wnat to cross paths with."
"I am alreayd in teh Mayor's watchlist, this cannot be that worse."
"It's better if you don't take the chance," said Killian, "look i know these people. it's better to keep your head down around them."
"Seriously?" Emam scoffed, "Wow."
It was then that it happened. They were locked in the storeroom, door only slightly ajar and anybody could have walked in. Yet seeing Emma at teh moemnt, something so sad and undecipherable in her eyes, made Killian's heart lurch. It was as if he was working against his own mind, and before he knew it, his lips were on Emma's.
Not a moment later, Hook's eyes flew open. Memories of a life in Enchanted forest, during the curse, after, Storybrooke, Neverland, Hell, their happy ending, the wedding came rushing back to him.
He puleld back with a gasp, looking at Emma in shock.
"Swan."
The smile that spread over Emma's face was worth everything, "Oh My God, Killian!"
When she pushed him for another kiss, he did not protest.
