It was 10 P.M. on the night of Thursday, August 31st, 2017, and Harry Potter was in his second son Albus's room on the night before Albus would be off to Hogwarts for the very first time.

There was something Harry wanted to impress upon Albus before Albus started Hogwarts.

Unlike with James, Harry didn't have the need to impress upon Albus that he was going to Hogwarts to be a student first and foremost. He knew that Albus was highly academically motivated and that that would never be an issue.

If anything, Harry had kind of the opposite issue with Albus.

"Albus," said Harry seriously as he sat down next to his second son on his bed, "I have a piece of advice for you before you start Hogwarts."

"I know I'm going to Hogwarts be a student and learn how to control my magic, " said Albus matter of factly, "You don't need to worry about me goofing off."

"I know you'll be a dedicated and motivated student, " said Harry in a businesslike voice, "I trust you there. But, while academics are the most important of going to Hogwarts, they are not the whole shooting match."

Albus said nothing.

"Look, academics come first, but don't become so consumed by academics that you miss on how special a place Hogwarts is and what it has to offer."

"What do you mean?" asked Albus.

"I unexpectedly didn't go back to Hogwarts for my seventh year because I had to go on that mission to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes. Just before leaving Hogwarts at the end of my sixth year, I realized that I had never realized or appreciated how beautiful a place Hogwarts is, " said Harry seriously.

Harry saw a thoughtful look come onto Albus's face and he patiently waited until Albus spoke again.

Albus took in what his father had just told him, and it hit him exactly what daddy was trying to get across him."

"What you're trying to tell me, " said Albus in understanding, "Is not to take this opportunity for granted. Take some time to soak in and appreciate the environment of Hogwarts."

"Exactly, Albus, exactly, " said Harry clearly, "Between classes and homework, take time to take things in. I never did that, and I regret it."

"I will," promised Albus, "I will take time to take in the beauty of Hogwarts Castle, the Black Lake, the Sloping Lawns, the Great Hall, and even the night sky around Hogwarts."

"Good," said Harry approvingly, "Bu, in addition to taking in to taking in the beauty, slow your mind down and take time to savor things as well. "

The thoughtful look returned to Albus's face.

When Albus spoke again he said, 'When I'm at a Hogwarts feast, I'll take time to savor the fact that I'm eating the best tasting food in the world. When I lie down at night, I'll savor the fact I get to sleep in the most comfortable bed on earth. If my flying lesson occurs on a nice day, I'll take time to savor the weather."

"You've got the message, " said Harry contently.

Albus nodded. Harry left the room and Albus fell asleep.
