AN: Hello! I'm Queen of the Potterheads. This is my first fanfiction, so I could really use your help with improving my writing and coming up with plot ideas. I am a Harry Potter multipshipper, BTW, so if you find me defending multiple ships, that would be why.

Anyway, enjoy The Start of Forever! Please read and review, nothing is my own except for the 32 Sheppard children. (Four sets of octuplets) Some text original to the series, no plagiarism intended.

The Finale of the Battle

"There are no more Horcruxes, Riddle. It's just you and me. Neither can live while the other survives, and one of us is about to leave for good..."

"One of us?" Voldemort jeered.

"Yes, one of us," Harry replied. "And now, we see who shall live, and who shall not."

"Avada Kedavra!"

"Expelliarmus!"

The spells collided, and the Elder Wand was spinning through the air towards Harry, who caught it in his free hand as he watched Voldemort fall to the ground. Tom Riddle was dead, killed by his own rebounding curse. The crowd stared in silence, then immediately broke into a tumult of cheers and celebratory fireworks. Ron and Hermione were the first upon him, soon followed by the DA, the Order of the Phoenix, and basically every single survivor of the battle, who were all pressing in, determined to touch the Boy Who Lived, the reason it was over at last...

Later on, it felt like everyone was following Harry around, begging him to give a blow-by-blow account of what had happened and what he had done while he, Ron and Hermione were on the run when he just wanted time alone with his friends. He tore himself away from them and pulled Luna Lovegood over to the side of the Hall.

"Luna, could you distract the horde? Please?" Harry asked desperately.

"Distracting people is my specialty," Luna reassured him. "Oh, look, a Blibbering Humdinger!"

Everyone who had heard her turned to look while Harry put on the Invisibility Cloak and wandered over to where Ron and Hermione were sitting.

"It's me," he whispered. "Will you come with me?"

They walked aimlessly through the castle, chatting about the battle and the future.

"Harry, that was amazing! I can't believe you just defeated Voldemort like that!" Hermione gushed.

"Thanks, Mione."

"Yeah, I'm just happy that we'll never have to face him again," Ron added.

"Ron, use your brain. There is no way that some of his followers will accept that he's gone. They'll find a way to bring him back, or at least find a way to rise a new Dark Lord. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them," Harry explained. "We have to be prepared."

AN: Sorry about the short chapter. After all, it is my first fanfic. I promise the chapters will get longer, especially if y'all review with feedback and plot ideas. Right now, I just wanted to give a bit of background so you know when it's set.
