Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. Disclaimer: the Harry Potter universe and all of its characters belong to the one and only J.K. Rowling. I am merely a beginning writer who loves J.K.'s characters and writes stories about them for his own personal enjoyment. Hi there! I'm a guy from Belgium who is in his early twenties and absolutely loves Harry Potter. I got to know the series thanks to the movies and started reading the books after the Goblet of Fire movie, when I was about ten years old. I've read all of them numerous times over the years, both in my native language and English (except for Deathly Hallows, only read that one in Dutch). I got into Fanfiction in the summer of 2015, when I was in the early phase of my studies and going through a very rough patch of my life. I used to read HP stories until the early hours of the morning for months in a row. Until I decided to try writing something myself - it turns out that I really liked it and that writing is a very good therapy for sadness. I occasionally wrote throughout 2015 and 2016. But after that, other projects, school work and eventually my professional job took over - meaning I hardly found time to keep writing. Despite being on here for 6 years already, I haven't written that many stories yet. Much to my own surprise, I discovered that I really like to write romance fics when it comes to Harry Potter! I have become a huge H/Hr shipper after I got into Fanfiction, and that'll reflect in my stories. It's been a very long time since I posted something new or updated my last story, for which I deeply apologise. It seems that reading and writing Fanfiction was the perfect distraction from my personal problems a few years ago. That being said, I do get occasional flashes of inspiration and find myself coming back here every once in a while with the intention to finish my 'current' story, Summer of 96. I've occasionally worked on it throughout the COVID-19 crisis in 2020 and I do hope to finally finish it this year, since it's been long overdue. As of January 2021, I have 2 completed stories and 1 story that is in progress: Night at the Lake, this is a H/Hr one-shot set during the time-travel shenanigans in Prisoner of Azkaban. Complete. A summer day in Little Whinging, where Hermione isn't at Grimmauld Place during the summer before 5th year. She decides to pay Harry a visit in Little Whinging, but of course, something goes wrong. Harry and Hermione will discover something about themselves, and both of them also fight the continued slandering by Fudge and the Ministry in a rather unique way. Complete. Summer of 96, the story I'm currently working on. A Harry/Hermione fic that takes place during the summer after fifth year. I started writing this in early 2016, but never got round to finishing it. After a couple of years of not touching it, I restarted work on this story in late 2019 and have occasionally continued writing when short bursts of inspiration hit me. I will start publishing again when I have finished the story. The aim is to post all the remaining chapters in 2021. 6 of them are already published, with another 5 or 6 on the way. What do I want to write in the future? I have the ambition to write a full-sized H/Hr story during my lifetime. I played with the idea of rewriting my favourite novel (The Prisoner of Azkaban) and even wrote down a couple of chapters years ago. But now, I'd rather write a unique story that kicks off right after Half Blood Prince - since those stories are the ones that I tend to really like here. Stories H/Hr shippers out there should definitely check out: As I just said, I really like the Harry Potter stories that pick up right after Half Blood Prince and completely disregard the existence of Deathly Hallows. It really is marvelous to see what kinds of grand finishes to the saga other writers have come up with. As such, I have a few recommended stories, some more well-known than others: A Serpent's Sacrifice: my favourite Harry Potter fic on this site. The truly great ones do tend to stick with you, and this one has since I first read it all the way back in 2015. There is suspense and action throughout the entire story, a number of huge and emotional action scenes, very good use of locations and the H/Hr romance is built up beautifully. Definitely give this one a shot if you haven't already. Harry Potter and the Last Horcrux: an apparently well-known H/Hr gem - which makes me wonder how I didn't find it on this site for nearly 5 years! - and right behind A Serpent's Sacrifice when it comes to my favourite story. It is filled with action for the first 2/3rds and hits that emotional sweet spot in the final 1/3rd. It also includes a connection between Harry and Hermione that I had never seen written before, making it a truly refreshing read. Vox Corporis: another well-known H/Hr story. It explores the possibility of Harry and Hermione becoming animagi and follows them as they figure out their true feelings for one another. There's not a lot of action - the story is almost completely focused on the H/Hr romance - but I found that I'm not bothered by that in the slightest. It just works. Harry Potter and the Oroborus Light: at the time of writing this summary, it's been about 5 years since I last read this one, but I remember absolutely loving this story back in the day. Some small details are rather silly, but the main story fits together very well - giving us an unique Horcrux hunt. Hermione's Plan another post-HBP story that came out before Deathly Hallows. Not my favourite story since I have come across better ones over the years, but it is the one that got me completely hooked into Fanfiction back in the day. It does get quite silly at times, but for some reason, I absolutely loved it. Of Broom Closets and Kisses: a short story which is equally suspenseful and hilarious. Reading this one always brings a smile to my face - for some reason, it makes me feel like a teenager again! Authors you should definitely check out: - chem prof: his story Hermione's Plan got me completely hooked into FanFiction and I have spent entire days reading his stories, he has quite a lot of them. - Gabilian: probably the best writer I have come across on this site; his story A Serpent's Sacrifice is my favourite fic of all-time. His other story, The Bottom of the Lake, is also a very good read. - merlynthegrey: an author who started publishing around the same time as I did, but is also inconsistent with his updates - like myself! He is currently working on two full-sized stories. Definitely one you want to follow: he/she is worth the wait. - Amethyst Jackson: his fic Kissing Lessons for the Beginner is the first story I can remember reading on this site. I believe he was a very active writer before Deathly Hallows came out years ago, he has lots of very well written one-shots that take place during or after Half Blood Prince. |
