A/N: Darkrai, you made my day, I'm honored you remember this little fic ^.^
"Ughhh," Elsa flinched at the sudden outburst from the younger girl as the blonde stepped out of the changing stall. Anna dropped her face in defeat – directly into the cushioned red velvet couch she was so comfortably sprawled out on. The absurdly unladylike scene in the middle of one of the most elegant high-end fashion stores in the Fashion Capital of the world immediately earned another giggle from the blonde. Adorable….
"That bad, huh?" Elsa smirked as she walked over to the illuminated wall-sized mirror to the left of the room to examine herself.
"mmw dw yww lwwm gmmd mm evwwmhmmg?" Anna muffled, face still hopelessly suffocating in the cushion.
Another laugh escaped the agent as she turned back to the girl, "What was that?"
Anna turned her head to the side to free her mouth and look back at Elsa, blowing a few puffs of air to move the rouge strand of hair that tickled her nose. "I asked, how do you look good in everything?" Anna responded in defeat, "like it's actually unfair. I give up, you win."
Elsa giggled again, relishing in her victory, turning back to the mirror to admire her handiwork.
Upon leaving Edna's mysterious little store, Anna suggested they continue shopping – "y'know, in case you find a coat you like better or something" as she put it. When Elsa heard this, she immediately stopped the redhead in her tracks, ensuring the younger girl understood that she really was extremely grateful and absolutely loved the one-of-a-kind coat she had made exclusively for her. Only once Anna had finally accepted Elsa's words, the blonde agreed to continue shopping with her but under one condition – Anna couldn't buy anything else for her. The redhead instantly tried to fight back, but Elsa stood firm on this rule – she was there to spend time with Anna, not there for Anna to spend on her. The younger girl begrudgingly accepted, at least she could spend a little more time with Elsa.
After the first couple stores, Anna came to realize Elsa literally looked good in everything she suggested for her – good thing the blonde made her promise not to buy anything for her, Anna would've compulsively purchased the entire store since Elsa looked so damn good in it. Anna then secretly moved on to suggesting more ridiculous pieces, trying to find something the gorgeous woman couldn't pull off – fluffy coats, frilly tops, oversized hats. Elsa, of course, immediately recognized the shift in style choices and welcomed the playful unwritten challenge. Which finally brought them to this moment, Elsa smugly grinning in the mirror, admiring the reflection of Anna behind her flung out over the couch in accepted defeat.
Sorry girly, Elsa silently apologized with a smirk. Not too bad if I do say so myself. The blonde half-turned to admire the whole look. The outfit was quite ludicrous but not entirely impossible to work with – tight black floral print pants, blue polka dotted dress shirt, leopard print suspenders and the muted pink beret to top it all off. The beret still matched the flowery design of her pants and the dress shirt with the blue of her eyes. Rolling up the sleeves to her elbows was definitely a nice touch to go with the exposed suspenders, as was draping her new coat over her shoulders without putting her arms in the sleeves. A sprinkle of confidence from the woman was all that was needed to pull the vastly disjoint pieces together.
"Sigh," the redhead looked on awestruck, catching Elsa's gaze in her reflection, "How the heck do you do that? Mixing patterns was literally the first thing I learned to avoid…." You still have much to learn girly. The blonde teasingly stuck her tongue at the younger girl.
Another watchful pair of eyes in the mirror brought the agent back to reality. That motherfucker again. Through the corner of her eye she could see Oaken smiling to himself as he watched the two interact, it's like the car ride all over again. He really needs to just focus on doing his damn job…. Ugh, whatever, at least stop messing around and start doing your own job too, dumbass. The agent had already spent almost 3 hours with her target but had yet to open any sort of meaningful conversation to potentially gather information or foster a closer relationship. If she wasted the entire day and Anna didn't feel any desire to see her again, the entire mission would be scrapped and Elsa would be right back at her desk, tortured by meaningless paperwork and the soul-sucking presence of her boss. Yeah… fuck that.
Elsa smiled, turning to face the redhead, finger lightly tapping on the corner of her lips in thought. "I could try teaching you a thing or two if you'd like." Anna's eyes widened in anticipation.
"Elsa, I… um… definitely can't pull off… that," gesturing to the crazy collection of pieces that somehow looked like the next cover of Vogue when worn by the blonde.
"Don't worry, silly," Elsa started with a mischievous grin, voice fading as she sauntered out of the fitting room, "we'll start simple!" We can still have a little fun… Elsa smirked as she exited, "Oh, excuse me! Hi, do you have any leather? Ah! Perfect, thank you!"
The redhead shot up as she overheard Elsa's conversation with the employee right outside the room. She shot a look to Oaken, searching for some explanation or support – the bodyguard just chuckled and shrugged, content with the comedic scene unfolding before him. Accepting she could no longer depend on her bodyguard for protection from any impending embarrassment, the younger girl quickly stood up, resuming her effort to dissuade the blonde from her evil intentions.
Elsa smirked as she re-entered the fitting room, witnessing Anna's quickly growing inner turmoil. So adorable…
"Here, try these on," Elsa said with an innocent smile, handing over a simple white cotton shirt with a black designer leather jacket – Anna's current black skinny jeans would match perfectly with the additional pieces.
"Fine," Anna pouted, drudging over to one of the changing stalls like a small child sent to their room.
Elsa giggled, stepping into the other stall, "Just trust meeeeee." The agent excitedly slipped back into her old clothes and stepped back out to meet the younger girl – but Anna hadn't come out yet.
"Anna?" Elsa called out, slightly concerned. The stall door slowly opened, revealing the younger girl visibly uneasy in the outfit that was chosen for her. "Aw Anna, come here silly," Elsa coaxed, gently leading Anna out from the stall. Cutie.
"D-does it look okay?" Anna asked hesitantly, looking down at the floor and taking Elsa's hand to bring her out of the stall's shell. "I feel… squeaky."
Elsa placed both hands on Anna's shoulders, "You look great, Anna," Elsa brought a hand to gently lift Anna's gaze to meet her eyes, "you really do." Elsa gave a supportive smile and giggled when Anna couldn't contain the teeny smile from gracing her lips as well.
"The secret is all about confidence," Elsa continued, "You know you look good and I know you look damn good," a giggle escaped the smaller girl, "now make sure everyone else knows it too. Here, try this." The blonde placed her hands back on Anna's shoulders, "Roll your shoulders back," Elsa gently guiding them into place. "Chin up a bit more," raising it once more with her finger. "Now then," Elsa slowly backed away to sit on the couch. Here we go. "Walk to me like you just finished setting fire to your cheating husband's Ferrari."
Anna's mouth flew open in surprise, "Heyyy, Hans would never cheat on me!"
Bingo.
The agent blinked in feigned confusion and forced a surprised gasp, "Oooo… who's this Hanssss? I didn't know you were marriedddd!"
Anna could feel her cheeks start to redden, "I – um… have I not mentioned him before? Geez Anna, that's kind of a big part of your life, you'd think it'd be one of the first things you'd mention to someone…. Wait, you're thinking out loud again, stop it. Errr… um, well anywayssss we aren't married… yet… he's uh… my fiancé! We're planning to have a wedding in the spring though! Wait, you could totally come to the wedding too! I don't actually know where it'll be yet… or when actually… er… I should probably figure those things out soon…"
Elsa giggled as Anna devolved into a rambling mess, starkly contrasting her current imposing outfit. Perfect, successfully confirmed Anna wants to spend more time with us. And we can finally begin asking more about that man… – the familiar uneasiness returned as Elsa recalled the photograph of Hans in the mission brief.
"Um… I don't know…" Elsa started, seeing Anna's face drop at the uncertainty, "I wouldn't want to impose…"
Anna's demeanor abruptly changed, "No, no, no, you will come to my wedding," she asserted, Elsa's breath hitched at the sudden display of dominance, "it's not imposing when The Bride wants you there."
Holy shit.
"Wow… um… okay," Elsa gulped, not able to take her eyes off the magnificence she was witnessing, "okay, um… walk to me like the pretty blonde you're shopping with just said she didn't want to impose on your wedding."
Anna stood there for a second, slightly annoyed but mostly just impressed at the audacity of the woman sitting before her, "Why you…. Fine, you want me to walk? Here," she slowly began walking, driving her determination into each step, "but you are coming to my we-" distracted by the blonde, Anna missed the small bump as the smooth tiled floor met the thicker carpet of the seating area, catching the edge of the unsecured rug on the tip of her shoe mid-stride.
Oh Anna…
A small shriek, followed by uncontrolled giggling.
"You know what? You're right, I need to be at the wedding," Elsa said giggling, "I forgot how prone you are to… gravity," sticking her tongue out at the girl she instinctively lunged out to gracefully catch in her arms.
Anna quickly stood up, completely ignoring the fiasco that just transpired – only her flushed cheeks confirmed the growing embarrassment, turning redder than the velvet of the couch cushion. Refusing to admit defeat just yet she continued her earlier act, "Good. That settles it then. I will see you at the wedding." With an assertive nod, the redhead quickly turned around and sauntered back into the changing stall, taking extra caution to safely pass over the edge of the carpet.
Elsa watched in amazement as she marched away. When the stall door closed, she finally bowed her head, grinning like an idiot. Fucking. Adorable.
The blonde stood there for a moment stunned in disbelief, she turned to the find the bodyguard hunched over, face in his hands, his body shaking from silent laughter. Elsa couldn't help but laugh along. Maybe he's not so bad.
Once the two's laughter died down, Anna shyly stepped out of the stall. Elsa quickly welcomed the embarrassed girl with open arms.
"Aww Anna, come here," the agent pulled her into a giant hug, earning an excited squeal from the redhead who eagerly returned the embrace, "I'd be honored to attend your wedding."
"Yeah, you better be," Anna jokingly shot back, making Elsa giggle.
"You know, you kinda killed it with that walk at the end there."
"Wait what?" Anna pulled back in awe, "Did I really?" She looked over to Oaken, the only other witness who was nodding in agreement. Another squeal of delight. The redhead quickly cleared her throat, "I mean, yeah of course I did, I'm a natural," pretentiously turning her nose up at the compliment.
Elsa giggled, "Ah yes, such a natural, your grace," playing along with a bow, "anything else you want to look at here or shall we find another adventure for your entertainment?"
"Ooo! Okie, lemme go check out and we can find something else to do!" Anna quickly darted back into the stall to collect the pieces she wanted to purchase, Elsa smiled to herself as she caught a glimpse of the girl instinctively tossing the leather jacket aside, pausing for a second to rethink the decision, then adding it back to her purchase pile.
Elsa looked over at the bodyguard, beginning to collect the remaining bags from previous stores. He'll be a second. "Meet you outside?"
"Mmkay!" the younger girl called back, finally making her way to the cashier.
Stepping back out onto the street, Elsa took the brief moment alone to survey her surroundings. The agent feigned a stretch, twisting to the right to look down Avenue Montaigne. Nothing seemed particularly out of the ordinary on the one-way street – unoccupied parked cars lined both sides of the street, several small groups of shoppers and tourists gathered on the sidewalk near the adjacent storefronts, no prying eyes in any windows across the street. Twisting to the left, Elsa frowned, masking it by squinting like her eyes were still adjusting to the sunlight. A block or so back up the road was a black SUV parked on the side of the road, engine still running – the tinted windows concealed its occupants but easily giving away the vehicle to anyone who knew what to look for. Ooo looks like things may finally get interesting….
Elsa's body shuddered in anticipation as she started to think of a course of action. Protecting Anna would be easy enough, the agent could protect a VIP from a couple assailants in her sleep, especially with the number of people out on the street and store entrances every few steps to dip into for a quick escape if ever needed – not to mention Anna's bodyguard would make the whole protection thing that much easier, he seemed at least somewhat competent and if all else failed his body would still be big enough to block a few bullets. Even Kristoff should also be nearby to help if things got really desperate. This potential threat was not a problem – it was an opportunity.
Let's see…. If they managed to capture one of the attackers, she could definitely gather much more intel with some good old-fashioned torture – er… interrogation. The number one priority will always be Anna, but if she could somehow quickly incapacitate one while still maintaining her cover – it'd be the icing on the chocolate cake of this perfect day.
Step 1: Get these fuckers out of their car.
Elsa pulled out her phone. That idiot better be paying attention. "Call me in 5 minutes" – send.
"All done!" Discretely slipping her phone away in the process, Elsa smiled and turned back to the store entrance to face the bundle of sunshine that greeted her, making sure she could see the reflection of the suspicious vehicle in the store's window.
"I can take those bags as well, Ms. Walker," the bodyguard behind her mentioned, one hand already full from the girl's previous purchases.
"Oaken, you don't need to carry my things!" Anna protested, just as she had the last time the man offered, though it obviously hadn't worked then and won't work now.
"Ms. Walker, I insist," the bodyguard said with a smile.
Ah! Got it. Elsa smiled, finally realizing the next step in her plan.
Sighing with mock reluctance, Anna finally relinquished her bags to the bigger man, "Fiiiiiineeeeee…." Turning back to Elsa, she instantly perked up again, moving towards the blonde but stopped abruptly, fiddling with her hands, unsure what to do with them, "Um… haha, what do you wanna do now?"
Elsa tilted her head in confusion at the change in the girl's behavior. Ohhh, she's unsure whether mentioning her fiancé changed anything. Well in that case... Elsa smiled and held out her left arm, which Anna eagerly latched onto. Some things never change. Of course this was just the easiest way to discretely shield the girl from a direct line of sight from the car. The agent would prevent any asshole from shooting their shot at the innocent girl on her arm. Elsa smirked at the double meaning. Hah, bet Oaken would love to see that too.
"Well, I was thinking," Elsa started, turning back up the way they came, "we should stop by the car first, so Oaken's arms can finally take a break." She smiled up at the bodyguard currently weighed down by the numerous bulky bags in both hands, Oaken laughed and nodded, silently thanking her for the act of kindness. Being kind was the last thing on the agent's mind, her thoughts were more practical:
1. A bodyguard is more useful when he can use his fucking hands. Obviously. Dumbass.
2. Walking in the opposite direction of traffic forces the assholes watching from the vehicle to continue on foot – they can't discreetly reposition the car on the one-way street without circling the block and risk losing sight of us.
3. Separating the bodyguard from Anna for a few moments may be just enough to entice one of the poor victims into my trap.
Now to figure out the trap….
"Did your right arm get tired of me?" Anna playfully teased, snapping the blonde from her plotting.
Elsa giggled innocently at the question, "No, no, I just figured this was safer." Anna gave her a quizzical look, making the blonde smirk. "I can't have you accidentally falling into oncoming traffic, Oaken would never forgive me!"
Both Elsa and Oaken laughed at Anna's adorable scrunched up little pouting face. With a "hmph", Anna turned her head away, ignoring them both – the act might've been more convincing if she wasn't still clinging to Elsa's arm.
The pair walked in comfortable silence, nearing the parked SUV across the street, the agent's pulse quickening with each step. Elsa gently nuzzled the younger girl's head resting on her shoulder with her own, preventing a clear shot as they passed directly by the car. As the vehicle passed out of her peripherals and no other way to monitor the threat, Elsa could only rely on sound. Her sense of hearing heightened as she focused more intently on the noises around them. Their footsteps hitting the concrete sidewalk. The low murmur of the small crowd group of tourists farther down the street behind them. The quiet chirping of birds in the small trees that lined the sidewalk. The calm rumble of the random car passing by. The content sigh from the precious girl on her shoulder. Nothing. Maybe I was overreacting…. The agent slowly let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding as they continued on.
Hearing Elsa let out that deep breath, Anna perked her head up, looking at the blonde with concern.
Wait… no humming of the engine – someone turned off that car.
"Elsa? Everything okay?" Anna asked with a worried look after a few more steps.
A car door quietly but firmly shut. Fuck yes. The agent smiled in anticipation. That's right motherfucker, come and get it. Only one door opened and closed – just one person? This'll be fun.
Elsa turned to look at the worried girl with a smile as they continued walking, "Don't worry Anna, I'm fine. I was just enjoying the fresh air. Honestly I normally don't get a chance to go out very much," the blonde chuckled nervously at the embarrassing confession, "and never with such great company."
Content with the answer, Anna placed her head back on her companion's shoulder with a sigh. "Yeah me too," the redhead started, "ever since my mother passed, my father has been pretty… protective…. It's like he's afraid to lose me too."
Elsa placed her hand on the younger girl's, comforting the redhead's hand with her thumb. "I'm sorry you had to go through that… losing a loved one is hard…. But I guess I can understand how your father feels – I'd be scared to lose you too." Anna squeezed the woman's arm in silent appreciation.
The two walked the final two blocks in solemn silence, the bodyguard quietly following right behind. This time Elsa was thankful for the watchful bodyguard following right behind them. With his massive body, Oaken had unknowingly protected the two from any potential surprise attacks from their mysterious stalker trailing behind the group. Coming up to the last side street, Anna's car was parked to the right across the street just a few cars down. To the left was a small, deserted alley leading to a few loading bays, probably where the adjacent stores unloaded new inventory shipments. That looks like a good spot. Elsa looked further up the street and smiled. This was almost too easy.
"Hey, you know what could really cheer us up?" Elsa said to the quiet redhead as they slowed down.
"Hmm? What's that?"
"Chocolate!" The blonde gestured to the nearby dessert shop just a couple doors down, finally open for customers in the early afternoon. Anna squealed in approval, her mood instantly improving from the mere thought of chocolate. So fucking adorable.
"Okay Oaken meet us at the dessert shop when you're done byeeee!" Anna called back, already practically at the door of the eatery before the bodyguard had a chance to protest, dragging Elsa helplessly along with her. Oaken could only smile and shake his head as he turned to cross the street to quickly drop off the bags before Anna could get herself into any trouble.
Anna of course reached the door first, but somehow regained enough self-control to pause and hold it open for her guest lagging a couple steps behind. The excited girl frowned as Elsa suddenly slowed and pulled out her ringing phone.
Right on time, guess the big idiot can do some things correctly. Elsa checked the caller id, confirming it was in fact the big idiot, and answered. "Hello? Hey what's up?" The blonde gave an apologetic smile to the suffering redhead, forcing herself to stand and hold the door as the smells of all the chocolatey treats wafted by. "Anna, I'm so sorry, it's one of my housemates, I'll meet you inside, okay?"
Visibly conflicted, Anna finally gave in to the chocolate temptations, "Okie fine, you better hurry before I eat it alllllll," she called back, quickly abandoning Elsa at the doorstep. Elsa couldn't stop herself from smiling. Oh Anna….
"What's up blondie! How's the date going?"
Elsa rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Shut up idiot, how fast can you get here?" The blonde took a couple steps pacing as she talked on the phone, checking no one approaching from further up the street then turned around, quickly checking that Oaken was still on his way to the car.
"Errrr probably under 5 minutes."
"Got it, you better hurry, think I'll have a present waiting for you here by this dessert shop." The agent faked a polite smile as she finally took a glance behind their lone pursuer, luckily no one was approaching from that direction either. Looks like it's my lucky fucking day. She then took a closer look at their follower. Instantly locking eyes with the muscular man, Elsa immediately darted her gaze away. Same fucker from the café. That scar on his jaw is unmistakable.
"Roger, on my way now."
"Frost out."
Elsa politely moved to the side of the walkway, making room for the imposing man who was a few paces away. The agent continued to talk on her phone though Kristoff had hung up; she quickly looked over to the bodyguard, now head still blocked by the open trunk, busy making room for the new purchases. Perfect, Oaken's still distracted. Everything's going according to the plan. This asshole is focused on getting to Anna, time for a little surprise.
As much as she'd like, the fight – if you were to call such a predictably one-sided affair – couldn't take place out in the open. A body left in the middle of the sidewalk would draw way too much attention and the man was much too heavy for her to quickly drag him out of sight on her own before anyone noticed. Elsa needed to lure the attacker away from Anna and out of the annoyingly watchful eyes of her bodyguard then leave his battered body in a place only Kristoff would find. Elsa involuntarily shuddered as adrenaline coursed through her veins, her body readying itself for action.
The agent now focused her gaze on the ground, pretending to be engrossed in her phone conversation as the man stepped into her peripheral vision, now just a couple feet away. Though the enemy was drastically taller and most definitely stronger, easily outmatching the female agent physically, these types of threats always had the same weaknesses – speed…
As the man stepped past, out of her view, Elsa quickly spun around, throwing out a sweeping kick – …and balance. Immediately as she turned, the man suddenly spun towards her as well, launching a giant fist straight for her head. Hand to hand combat being second nature to the agent, despite being caught off guard, she instinctively adjusted her initial attack before it connected, instantly grabbing the attacker's wrist with both hands and turning her body to pull. Taking full advantage of his initial momentum, Elsa effortlessly pulled him off balance, throwing him down on the sidewalk.
What the fuck?! Isn't Anna the target? Why would he waste time attacking me first? Elsa's mind raced through endless possibilities as the man fell.
"Why you little bitch," the huge attacker angrily spat out, recapturing her focus.
Focus. Deal with that shit later, dumbass. Get him away from Anna. Now.
Elsa sprinted back to the side street, avoiding a hand lunging for her ankle as she stepped over the fallen man. She looked back to the recovering assailant to make sure he chased her and not Anna. He quickly followed her lead as she turned the corner into the alleyway. Perfect.
The big predator followed his fleeing prey into the alleyway cornering her at the first loading dock, out of sight from the main road. Perfect spot.
"I'm gonna enjoy killing you," he said with an ugly smile which seemed to stretch the scar on his jaw. With his right hand, the man aggressively pulled out a tactical knife from his pocket, flipping it open to reveal a 3-inch blade. How cute.
"Aww it's so tinyyy" Elsa teased with a smirk.
"Hah, it'll be more than enough to take care of you," the man confidently responded, immediately lunging forward with a quick stab – Elsa mirrored his movement, stepping back just enough for the blade to miss her by inches.
"Ooo so close, if only it was longer…" Elsa provoked, stepping backwards to dodge a follow up slice – back again for another stab.
Elsa brushed up against something – she reached behind her and felt the hard bricks of the loading dock side wall, her eyes widening in panic. The man grinned relishing in the sight of the trapped animal in front of him. He lunged forward for the final strike. Okay, dumbass, that's enough playing around.
Mid step, the agent suddenly lunged forward, knocking the knife off target with a small push on his forearm immediately closing the distance between them before her victim could react. As Elsa's step forward landed, so did her fist, slamming just below the center of the muscular man's ribcage - straight into his undefended solar plexus, instantly knocking the wind out of him. The attacker reached out to grab Elsa while his body hunched over involuntarily gasping for air, but the split second of shock was all she needed. The agent instantly slipped under his arm and around his broad shoulders, the sleek white coat gliding behind as effortlessly as its owner. A small yelp escaped the man as the agent landed a swift strike to the back of his defenseless neck.
First the clatter of metal echoed in the loading bay as the knife fell to the ground. A moment later a dull thud as the unconscious body fell as well. Alrighties, think that was quick enough. Elsa pulled out her phone, "Loading bay around the corner from the dessert shop." – send.
Quickly dusting off her coat and running a hand through her hair, Elsa quietly jogged back to the street corner and peered over to Anna's car, now completely unattended. Shit, shit, shit. She quickly walked over to the shop and opened the door, wincing as the tiny bell attached to it rang and announced her arrival to everyone within. A flailing hand caught her attention as Anna excitedly waved at her. Elsa smiled in relief and waved back at the adorable girl. Phew, Anna's safe. The agent calmly walked over, ignoring the watchful eyes she sensed from the bodyguard at the girl's side.
"Okay Oaken meet us at the dessert shop when you're done byeeee!"
The bodyguard smiled and shook his head, watching the two girls run off towards the dessert shop. Too cute. He laughed to himself as he crossed the street and walked over to the black Bentley.
Anna always had a bubbly personality but moments like these rarely occurred anymore. Whenever Anna was with Hans, she took on a more mature, sophisticated persona as she strove to appear worthy to play the part of the successful businessman's fiancé. Even around her father she appeared more grown up in an attempt to seem more responsible to abate his over-protective tendencies. Anna was only truly herself around Gerda or him, but Oaken was only ever assigned to accompany her when the girl left the estate – now days that was only really to take care of mundane wedding planning or appear at the occasional business/social functions as either Hans' date or on behalf of Walker Enterprises. Looks like there's one more person Anna can be herself around.
Oaken smiled to himself as he placed the last bag in the trunk, he did his best to conceal the valuable items so they didn't bring any more unnecessary attention to the vehicle – somehow he managed to hide every bag from every possible angle from the windows. Not too bad if I do say so myself. He looked over to the dessert shop across the street, frowning as he noticed the blonde outside on her phone. Anna's alone in there? Better get back. Oaken reached up to close the trunk.
Ring, ring… Ring, ring.
The bodyguard pulled out his phone. Gerda? What does she want right now?
"Gerda?"
"Oaken, Mr. Walker needs Anna to come back home immediately. It's urgent."
"Why? What's happening?"
"Not entirely sure, I heard it has to do with Hans," the bodyguard frowned at the name, "Keep an eye out, Oaken, I think it's happening." Oh no.
"Roger. We'll be back right after we drop off the friend."
"Understood. Stay safe."
Oaken put his phone away and closed the trunk. He quickly jogged over to the shop, Elsa no longer pacing outside. Probably went back inside with Anna.
"Hiya Oaken!" Anna cheerfully greeted, looking up from the chocolate covered pastries she was practically drooling over – alone.
"Sorry about that," Elsa stated as she rejoined the group, coyly tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
"You don't need to apologize, silly!" Anna comforted, earning an appreciative smile from the blonde.
Oaken cleared his throat, interrupting the two. "Sorry, Ms. Walker, but we really do need to get going…"
"Oh, is something wrong?" Elsa inquired, surprised at the sudden change of schedule. "If you need to get going, don't let me stop you, I can ask my housemate to come pick me up."
"Nope, nuh uh, not happening missy. I will not leave you stranded here all by yourself," Anna jumped in, "I am taking you safely home and that's final." Elsa giggled at the girl's assertiveness. Welp, can't argue with that. It would've been better for her to stay and help Kristoff secure their captive, but he should be able to handle it. The younger girl turned back to the bodyguard pouting, "Do we really have to go right now though?"
"I'm sorry Ms. Walker, I was told your father wanted you home for something urgent," Oaken glanced at Elsa with inquisitive eyes, "I'm sure Ms. Winters would be more than happy to meet up with you again another day."
"Um, yes, absolutely," Elsa confirmed with a smile. He suspects something. I can feel it.
"Ughhhh, fineeeee," Anna groaned, "Can we at least get something here first?"
"I'm sorry, Ms. Walker, I must insist we leave immediately. I can ask Gerda to make your favorite chocolate cake though."
"Hmph, fine." Elsa giggled at the exchange. It was like a child passing a McDonalds and their parent saying no because there were leftovers at home. Though in this case the would-be leftovers at home were probably just as good, if not better, than what was desired here.
Oaken lead the two out of the shop and back to the car, Anna reluctantly dragging her feet like a stubborn child. The bodyguard opened the door for Anna to climb in, she slid over to the other seat so Elsa could get in as well. Once the two were in, Oaken entered the driver's seat and started the car. Elsa looked out the window and saw Kristoff's Tesla turning into the side street where their future captive lay. Perfect timing.
Oaken pulled the black Bentley out of the stall and started the journey back to Elsa's place. The eager agent smiled in anticipation – in just a few minutes she'll be able to start extracting some useful information from their new captive. Her phone buzzed. Wow that was fast.
Her face dropped.
"There's nothing here blondie…."
