To whoever reads this: I'm TheOzzy, ozzy, whatever you want to call me and this is my first story and therefore might be a bit bad at first but that won't stop me from making this one of the best action/fighting Fuutarou stories on the site so bear with me, give me a review too, nothing too mean or I'll eat your grandma's cookies, I think that's it for introductions so let me say this
Disclaimer: I do not own the Quintessential Quintuplets nor do I own it's characters, although any OC's I do create throughout this story will be mine.
I just want to make a story about a Fuutarou who's still studious but can also fight since I think he would be a complete badass if he could tutor the quints while also retaining some parts of his delinquent childhood phase, although never delved into, I would think that a delinquent would get into some fights at the very least… right?

Uesugi Fuutarou: A Champions Story
Chapter 1: Day One
"Ow" said Uesugi Fuutarou, he rubbed his side as he walked on the route that led to his house with the hand that wasn't holding the money he had obtained from his latest fight, a measly 390 yen, loser's money as they called it.
At least, that's what they called it at the fight club he took part in whenever there was a match for him, he wished he could tell someone about the money he was earning but rule number one of the fight club, it didn't exist, even then, he couldn't really tell anyone, he didn't have any friends.
He wasn't bad at making them, he just didn't want any, they would distract him.
He also wasn't terrible at fighting either.
His Father had made sure to train him in boxing when he was younger so he could defend himself if he ever got into a brawl with the other kids at school, and he did get into some but he never actively started them, even so, his Father's words always echoed in his head right before he got into one, "Son, I taught you how to fight, however, that doesn't mean you should always fight, you always have to have a reason, you must fight only to protect yourself or someone else, your fists are your last resort, remember that and you will always have a good reason for fighting."
Needless to say he didn't enjoy fighting, maybe it was because he never had a "good reason" for it apart from kids trying to fight him first or maybe it was just because whoever tried to fight him ended up on the ground, regretting their decision to pick a fight with Fuutarou
This made him feared amongst his peers, he became an outcast for the mistakes of others, it didn't matter though, he enjoyed being alone so it was more of a blessing he thought.
His father's words about fighting echoed in his head once again, making him tired. It wouldn't do well to fall unconscious on the sidewalk, he thought. Fuutaoru sighed and pocketed the money, pulling out his phone to look at the time, the screen read 11:09 PM, "Father and Raiha should hopefully be asleep by now" he thought.
Even though he would most likely be able to slip into his house with his family asleep, he was still pissed about losing and anybody who saw and walked past him at such an ungodly hour would shiver in fear of him doing something to them out of rage, his serious expression didn't help quell their fears either.
He didn't even notice people being scared when they walked by him because he was mentally cursing himself, "Dammit it, I can't believe I let all those punches go through my guard, I was so sure of my win too, guess I have to up my training" he thought, he was pissed about the fight's outcome but was mainly angry about the amount won.
It didn't even cover the lunch he usually got from the school cafeteria, the barbecue beef combo, this time he wouldn't be able to get the full set and while it wasn't uncommon for him to not be able to afford the full set, this hadn't happened in over a week. Courtesy of his recent fight's, however this luck had finally ran out it seemed.. he kept thinking about the lunch set, mentally thinking of ways to get the set's full nutritional value without going over his budget.
The combo already being one of the cheapest lunches on the menu, starting at only 400 yen, could be made more expensive if other things were added like shrimp tempura and fried chicken but he wasn't made of money so he did the exact opposite, he took additional items away, in this case he would take away the miso soup, because if it wasn't needed, why would he pay for it?
He really only got the combo since a growing teenager like him needed all the nutrients his body could get, or at least that's what he'd tell you if you bothered to ask, he actually got the combo because it had everything he needed for the training he was always seemingly undergoing: a bowl of rice, miso soup, a side of vegetables, and the main part of the meal, the barbecue beef. He realized that he had thought about it long enough though and decided to stop thinking about it, he was sure it would only serve to piss him off more than he already was.
He couldn't help stressing about it however, "not only do I not have enough from the fight but I also have to wait till Friday to receive my paycheck from Boss" Fuutarou said out loud, this might be his worst week and it was barely Monday! The only thing that eased his stressful thinking was the fact that he had finished today's school assignments and had decided to read ahead before his fight so he knew what to expect during the next lesson.
Just because he was participating in some shady fighting clubs, it didn't mean he couldn't be studious, and studious he was, since he always tried to stay at the top of his class, a feat he somehow managed to do alongside the other activities he did outside of class.
Thinking of this, he pumped his fist into the air as a sign of achievement, before quickly pulling it down as his side began to remind him of the nasty shot he took to the liver, wincing in pain, he made a mental list of things to do once he reached his house, eat dinner, take a bath and grab an ice pack to put on the already forming bruise.
He finally reached his house, his smile growing wider the more he thought of that warm bath that was sounding more inviting each second he spent outside in the blistering cold, his sweater wasn't really helping either, seeing as his teeth were chattering, he finally found his keys after digging through his pockets and entered his home, the lights were off, nothing weird about that, his family was also asleep as he thought they'd be so that was a win in his book. "Now, to enjoy some good food," he thought to himself.
He reached the fridge, ready to dig into the leftovers that would no doubt be leftover from the dinner he wasn't able to attend because of his "job", only to find… nothing.
"You have got to be kidding me," he thought, whatever it didn't matter, he would just take a warm bath, the thought almost eliminating his disappointment.. almost. When he turned on the water for his hot bath, he was not surprised at all that the water was cold, freezing even, he almost yelled out in frustration, his week was not starting off well.
He eventually decided to take the cold bath over going to sleep covered in sweat, however, he despised every second of it and quickly washed off all the sweat before drying off and going to sleep.
While laying down in his futon, he thought about the failure that today had been before he wished for a better tomorrow and closed his eyes, allowing sleep to take him.
"Ring Ring Ring", he woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ears before quickly hitting the snooze button, checking the time, he was happy to see it read five in the morning, it was still dark out and his Father had no doubt left already, he was never home by the time Fuutarou woke up, which meant he was already out, hard at work, trying to keep them afloat, he didn't even have breakfast either.. he thought, now was not the time to think about that though, he shook his head, bringing him back to the present, he trusted his father, he had taught Fuutarou how to fight and managed to keep them off the streets, he knew it wasn't easy dealing with everything his Father dealt with and respected him greatly for the sacrifices he had made for them.
"Well, time to stretch, it's a new day and there's nothing better than starting the day with a good stretch and run" he forced him to smile, he wanted nothing better than to just sleep for another couple of hours before he had to get ready for school but forced himself to put on his running shoes and stretched for a couple of minutes before starting on his morning run.
He ran 5 miles before checking the time on his phone, 6:00 AM, thinking that he had ran enough, he started his walk back home, once he made it, he opened the door, just in time to see his little sister Raiha wake up from her sleep.
"Good morning Fuutarou" she said while wiping sleep from her eyes, she was answered with a faint good morning from the entryway where Fuutarou was taking off his shoes.
"I'll get started on breakfast" she said before opening the fridge and realizing that they had nothing to eat, her eyes widened in surprise before she told Fuutarou who volunteered to run to the store and get something cheap to eat, mentally making a note to send a message to his Father to buy groceries on the way back home.
He returned back home with egg sandwiches, they weren't as cheap as he thought they would be and had to dip into his bakery job money a little to buy them but as long as he and Raiha were fed, it didn't matter. They quickly ate before grabbing their bags for school and hurried out the door in order to not be late to school, he wished Raiha a good day at school and started his walk to school, hoping he would get a new fight sometime during his classes so he had something to look forward to throughout the week.
Fuutarou made it to school and got through most of his classes, not bothering to ask questions because he was so tired, it was clear that he wasn't in the mood by the way he was putting his head down, his body aching for some sleep, he was just trying to get to lunch time so he could eat again, the sandwiches in the morning did not satisfy his hunger from the night before and he wanted some barbecue beef in his stomach. He stared at the clock on the wall, waiting for the smaller hand to hit 12, but why did it seem like time was moving slower?

"brrringgg", the bell had finally rung after Fuutarou stared at it for a full minute, "finally, my last class before lunch ended" he thought with a small tired smirk.
"Time for the best part of school" he thought with a ghost of a smile appearing on his face before reverting back to his regular serious look.
He got into the lunch line and waited for his turn to order his meal, while in line, he noticed a blob of red hair getting into line, however, he wasn't able to think about it too much though before he was next in line
"One barbecue beef set without the beef please" he said, happy that his mental practicing of what he was going to order was on point, although he said one thing wrong, he wanted the beef, not the miso portion!
His eyes widening when he realized his mistake and opened his mouth to correct his blunder before a tray of food was shoved his way, there was nothing he could do, he had said the wrong thing and now had to pay for it, a chibi Fuutarou rocked back and forth in his mind while all this was happening on the outside.
He took the tray and went to the lunch table he usually sat, away from all the other students since one, he didn't like sitting with a bunch of stuck up and egotistical people and two, the other students thought he was weird and didn't associate with him, that didn't bother him at all though, he was more than happy to sit alone. Just as he was about to put his tray down though, his tray was bumped into by another lunch tray, almost as if to make matters worse, the person had also accidentally spilled water on Fuutarou's white dress shirt, the wet shirt clung to his body and allowed parts of his abs to be seen.
Fuutarou was shocked, then the shock turned to anger and just as he was about to fly off the handle and tell the person off, he got a good look at who he was about to verbally murder and noticed the same red hair that he was drawn to while he was standing in the lunch line, it was a girl, and a pretty one at that.
"O-oh my gosh I am so sorry, I d-didn't see you, I was so deep in thought and didn't realize someone else was about to sit a-and- ", the girl was apologizing frantically before she was stopped by a Fuutarou who was raising his hand to signal to her to stop talking. "It is okay, I know you didn't do it on purpose and I am not angry at all", that was a lie, he was pissed but yelling at the girl who obviously spilled water on him on accident wasn't going to dry his shirt anytime soon so there was no point in arguing further. "If you want, we can both sit at this table since there's two chairs", he mentally facepalmed at his stupidity and hoped she would turn him down so he wouldn't have to interact with her more than he already had to before she… smiled.. and accepted his offer. "Oh jeez" he thought.
"Yes I would like that", the red-haired girl said, after sitting down, she apologized once again with Fuutarou accepting it.
They both said their thanks for the food and began eating, it took him a short time to finish his food because of the small amount he was given but felt a little fuller, the red-haired girl then spoke up and said "Sorry for my lack of manners, my name is Nakano Itsuki, but you can call me Itsuki", "My name is Uesgui Fuutarou but you can call me either one". After introducing themselves, he noticed that Itsuki had way more than he did on her plate and envied her a bit, she obviously came from money and it was shown from the amount of food she had.
She caught him staring at her food and decided to ask, "Do you want some? I have plenty and truth be told, I don't think I am gonna be able to finish it all".
Fuutarou was about to say no before his stomach went rogue and decided to grumble loudly, taking that as an answer, Itsuki gave him some of her food, two pieces of shrimp tempura, that was all he allowed himself to accept since he didn't feel comfortable taking more.
"It's good isn't it Uesugi-Kun?" she asked before realizing what she said and blushed before looking away quickly, Fuutarou didn't notice and instead of commenting on it, answered her question with a yes and a quick thank you to which she accepted with a smile on her face.
"You're not from here are you Itsuki" he asked since he noticed that she was not wearing the school uniform and instead wore a black uniform, "most likely from another school" he thought, she answered with a nod before replying with "I just transferred here today, this is my first day at this school, this uniform is from my old school, the one I went to before I transferred here, I am just waiting on my uniform, they said I would able to pick it up today after school" she flashed him a smile after finishing answering his question.
"Her smile is something" he thought while looking at her, once again thinking of how he thought she was pretty when he first saw her up close, he quickly shook his head, he had no need to get distracted when he already had so much going on in his life.
"Oh Uesugi-Kun, I was wondering if it's not too much of a bother, I am still trying to learn my way around here, could you show me arou-", she was cut off by the sound of the lunch bell ringing, signaling the transition period for students to get to their next class, disappointed by the bell's terrible timing, she stood up and walked to the tray station with her head down, she was startled by the sound of a tray being slammed onto the station, she looked up, it was Fuutarou.
"Sure, i'll show you around, come to school early tomorrow and i'll give you a tour" he said while giving her his most genuine smile, on the inside however, he was beating himself up over offering to give her a tour
He could have used that time to run! Instead he was going to be showing someone around the school, he didn't even like talking to people either, why was he doing this?
Itsuki squealed and almost pounced on Fuutarou before he quickly pushed her off, noticing the sudden accumilation of tears in her eyes from the apparent rejection, he opted for a head pat, she smiled, "she's smiling at least, so I must've done something right" he thought before realizing that this was his chance to escape! He bid her farewell, "alright Itsuki, it was nice talking to you, I will see you tomorrow" he said before walking off, unaware that Itsuki was still looking at his figure walking away,
"Idiot, Idiot, Idiot, why did I agree to giving her a tour, I have way more important things right now, like finding out when my next fight is" he said, mentally berating himself, just as he started to really berate himself, his phone rang, it was a message, from an unknown number, this wasn't the first time this had happened and he knew what it was when he opened it, he was being messaged a fight!
His stressful thoughts about giving Itsuki a tour were eliminated and instead filled with thoughts about his training," now what was the date?' He thought, he read further and read the day it would take place...Thursday it said. "The fight's in two days, I need to train harder in order to be sure of my win," he thought while dreaming of winning the prize money, things finally seemed to be looking up for our Fuutarou.
However that was just wishful thinking, things had never been easy for Uesugi Fuutarou and they weren't about to get easier all of a sudden, that's not how life worked for him.
That's it for the first chapter of what I will hopefully turn into an actual story, hope you enjoyed it and definitely drop a review on things I could do for the next chapter!
